The Winning of Barbara Worth is an American silent Western film directed by Henry King and written by Frances Marion. It was based on the book of the same name by Harold Bell Wright and produced by Samuel Goldwyn. The film is best known for its depiction of the formation of the Salton Sea in 1905 in an epic cinematic flood sequence. The film's most enduring legacy, however, is that it is the breakout role of Western film icon Gary Cooper. Cooper is dashing in this silent role as Abe Lee, one of the love interests of Barbara Worth (Vilma Bánky). It is said that Cooper was cast in the role only days before filming, replacing Monte Blue, known for being the romantic lead in many silent-era films. Cooper personified the "strong silent type" on screen and was much adored by both men and women.

While it’s expected that this Lincoln Square theater will play the film when it arrives in theaters, it may be...
