Gemma Arterton and James Norton in Rogue Agent (2022)
Rogue Agent Review: Riveting Spy Thriller Plays the Long Con
Gemma Arterton and James Norton in Rogue Agent (2022)
I’m surprised the studio gives up the game in its marketing materials; Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson’s Rogue Agent is built in such a way that allows the ruse to stand as truth until a midway-point revelation. It’s a case where not watching a trailer probably augmented my enjoyment of the piece—I genuinely didn’t know where things were going or who to believe. Was Robert Freegard (James Norton) really an MI5 agent who fell in love and thus must suffer the agency’s cruel vetting process of throwing dirt to see if his lover will remain loyal? Carla beats Queen Elizabeth in hat poll
Britain's Queen Elizabeth has been beaten into second place in a poll of famous hat wearers. The 83-year-old royal was beaten by French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in the annual Celebrity Hat Wearers survey, which was won by the monarch's granddaughter Zara Phillips last year. The British royal family was well represented in the vote, with Prince Edward's wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, winning third place. Philip Wright, of Luton milliners Walter Wright, said: "The Countess of Wessex opts for more feminine styles, including a particularly eye catching one with feather trim." Carla was praised for the stylish headgear she wore during a state visit to meet Queen Elizabeth last year. Philip explained: "Carla Bruni's neat, chic, pill box...
