Trivia

  • Had a career as a professional model until she retired to marry Ricardo Montalban, whom she met through her sister Sally Blane and her director/husband Norman Foster. It seems Montalban was being directed in a Mexican film by Foster and happened to catch Georgiana in her only movie and was smitten. Another story, according to Loretta Young's authorized biography, "Forever Young", by Joan Wester Anderson, states that he first saw her on a magazine cover, as well as in the aforementioned movie, in his native Mexico, and vowed he would marry no one else. He reluctantly went out on a blind date with her sometime later, and was pleasantly surprised to find she was his dream girl.
  • Had four children with Ricardo Montalban. Sons: Victor Montalban (born April 18, 1952) and Mark Montalban (March 13, 1947); Daughters: Laura Montalban, clothing designer (August 12, 1945 - November 17, 2017) and Anita Montalban (March 21, 1949).
  • Half-sister of actresses Loretta Young, Sally Blane and Polly Ann Young.
  • Billed as Georgiana Young, she spent three years under contract to David O. Selznick and was screen-tested for the role of Suellen, Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister, in Gone with the Wind (1939). She lost the role to Evelyn Keyes because, even at the young age of 14, she stood taller than Vivien Leigh.
  • Following her death, she was interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. Upon his death on January 14, 2009, her husband, Ricardo Montalban was buried along side her.

Quotes

  • I was scared to death in front of movie cameras, not like my sisters, who went on to have successful careers.
