‘Just One Look’ Netflix Review: Just Another Terrible Show From The Mind Of Harlan Coben
Image
Harlan Coben has made an enemy of me. I’ll admit that this enmity is in its nascent phase (it started in 2024), and there’s a good chance that, in the future, maybe my mind will change and I’ll become a fan of his work. But, for now, seeing his name gets my blood boiling. This whole affair began with Fool Me Once, which was released on New Year’s Day 2024. I mean, it’s one thing to release anything at that time of the year and a whole other thing to release something as boring, convoluted, and infuriating as that miniseries on the first day of a new year. Netflix and Coben recreated the magic on New Year’s Day 2025 with Missing You. That show was technically as mind-numbing as the last one. But given how the narrative had a subplot about a dog lover scamming rich people,...

Sadly, Just One Look season 2 is not happening because of this reason
Image
Harlan Coben's latest series, Just One Look, has finally been released on Netflix, and fans are eager to dive into its suspenseful plot. This is Coben's second new Netflix show of 2025, with the hit Missing You being released at the top of the year. Like all of his other Netflix series, Just One Look is filled with thrilling twists, shocking reveals, and unexpected turns that keep viewers hooked from start to finish. It's definitely another gripping addition to his impressive Netflix lineup, and it's not a show you want to miss!

Just One Look is a Polish-language mystery thriller series adapted from Coben's 2004 standalone novel of the same name. This marks not the first but the third time Coben’s work has been adapted for the screen in Poland, following two other Polish-language Netflix series based on his books. Those must-see shows are The Woods and Hold Tight.

There's another new Harlan Coben Netflix show coming in March
Image
Calling all Harlan Coben fans! A new twisty mystery awaits you this March in the upcoming crime thriller series Just One Look. Based on Coben's beloved 2004 novel of the same name, the Polish-language Netflix show promises to deliver a gripping tale of secrets, suspense, and unexpected turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

This marks the third Coben adaptation produced in Poland for the streaming platform, with the crime dramas The Woods (2020) and Hold Tight (2022) being the previous two. Although the exact episode count for this new series is yet to be announced, we can likely expect between five and eight episodes, which is typical for a Harlan Coben series on Netflix.

What we do know is that, like Coben's previous shows, Just One Look is billed as a limited series. This means it will tell a full story over the course of its episodes, with...

10 Best British Spy TV Shows
Image
Britain's television landscape has often been linked with gritty characters, compelling storylines, and complex dramas, with no genre embodying those traits quite like an iconic British spy series. The British fiction's fascination with spies and espionage can be traced back to Ian Fleming's iconic James Bond character from 1953, which garnered worldwide attention and acclaim. Though other countries produce quality works in the genre, the British versions tend to have a biting dialogue mixed with intricate, layered narratives that create some of the most intense, thrilling shows of all time.

Uniquely British spy series from older generations, such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, shows the complexity of the genre and the underlying tension and psychological pressures that agents must endure on their missions. Modern series like the beloved Killing Eve show a different layer to the genre, with a more quirky and comical tone that is still punctuated with moments...

Senior Thieves in Polish Crime Comedy 'The Green Glove Gang' Trailer
Image
"Is it a second home, or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest!?" Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a quirky, fun new crime comedy mini-series titled The Green Glove Gang, from Polish filmmaker Tadeusz Śliwa. One of many new projects made in Poland for Netflix as one of their local content offerings. When their latest heist goes wrong, three older female burglars evade officials by hiding out in a nursing home — where they uncover a sinister secret. These three noble thieves – Zuza, Kinga and Alicja – continuing their conniving ways at the nursing home, giving its elderly residents a chance for a second youth. The series stars Magdalena Kuta, Małgorzata Potocka, & Anna Romantowska, with Beata Bandurska, Karolina Rzepa, Mirosław Zbrojewicz, Andrzej Grabowski. I was sold from the title, but this looks like some kooky & mischievous fun! Seems like something that could break out and find audiences outside of Poland. ›››

Ever since Friday the 13th helped solidify the concept of the summer camp being a place to just massacre teenagers, we’ve never been short on the supply of new killers and people for them to kill. Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight aka W lesie dzis nie zasnie nikt, is a new Polish addition to the list, but does it offer anything new?

When a group of technology-dependant teenagers are sent to offline camp they are forced to hand over all their phones and tablets to the councillors. Sent off on a hiking trip for a few days, they find themselves not only fending off nature, but a set of monstrous twins whose only aim seems...

Spies Of Warsaw part 1 review
Review Louisa Mellor Jan 10, 2013

David Tennant stars in BBC Four two-parter Spies Of Warsaw, adapted from Alan Furst's 2008 novel...

This review contains spoilers.

Title-wise, Spies of Warsaw doesn’t mess about. No figurative Parade’s End or The Crimson Petal and the White evasion for this BBC period adaptation; it’s a story about spies, in Warsaw. Specifically, it’s a story about a French spy - David Tennant’s Jean-François Mercier - in 1937 Warsaw, so is packed with European interbellum angst and dramatic irony of the ‘Bah! Germany won’t attack France through Belgium!’ sort.

Part one sees Col. Mercier, a widowed French noble turned spy, posing as attaché to the Embassy while attempting to uncover German invasion plans. When he’s not burrowing under enemy barbed wire or getting in punch-ups with would-be kidnappers, Mercier spends his time exuding twentieth century ennui at expensive drinks parties and making...
