There aren’t many people in the world who do not know who Cher is. The woman is an icon. She has had a successful career for over six decades. She sings, she acts, and she does it all. A young Cher started out as a singing duo with her then-husband Sonny Bono.
The couple had top 10 singles and starred in their own variety show. As successful as they were, their marriage didn’t work and they divorced in 1975. Since then, she only married once more but she has had many boyfriends. Cher dated some well-known faces, some not so famous, and some much younger men.

She may not look it, but Cher is now 76 years old. Her new boyfriend Alexander Edwards is 37. The two met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022.
There has of course been criticism of their almost 40-year age difference.

Cher is heading back to the small screen.
The music legend, who last starred on "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour"40 years ago, is working on a TV pilot. The gay icon is in development with Logo, an Lgbt-centric cable channel, on a period drama, set in 1960s Hollywood.
Cher is working with veteran TV writer Ron Zimmerman on the show and while she is currently attached as writer, she may also co-star.
Logo's Senior Vice President of Original Programming Brent Zacky made the announcement about Cher's potential show at the 2013 Television Critics Association Press Tour on Saturday.
"We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific," Zacky told The Hollwyood Reporter. "The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project ... We're very carefully and hopefully diligently taking a few shots in this arena and we'll see how it pans out.

Cher has reportedly signed a deal with the gay-friendly network to develop a pilot co-written with her boyfriend — and Facebook-love-at-first-sight — comedian Ron Zimmerman. The script is set in Hollywood during the early sixties; Logo executives say it's not clear whether Cher would act on the show, but it's difficult to imagine her saying no to the costumes. And, even if the idea doesn't work out, a company source told The Hollywood Reporter that the network was also "open" to working with her on an unscripted series. Cher's Reinvention Race, anyone?...

Updated: For decades, Cher has been an icon of the gay community. Now the actress-singer has set up a period drama project for Lgbt-centric cable channel Logo TV. Logo just made the announcement at the top of its TCA presentation. The network has ordered a pilot script for the scripted project, from Cher and veteran TV writer-producer Ron Zimmerman, which is set in 1960s Hollywood. Logo would not provide additional details on the drama, which I’ve learned is not gay-themed but described as an “adult show for everyone.” Cher is currently attached as writer alongside Zimmerman but may also co-star. Diane Haithman contributed to this report.

Cher could be headed back to TV. More than 40 years after The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour premiered, Logo took the opportunity of Saturday's presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour to announce that the iconic singer, actress, writer and producer has signed a development deal with the Lgbt-skewing network. Terms of the deal were being kept under wraps until a later date. There were few details at the time of the announcement, but network senior vp original programming Brent Zacky said that she's collaborating with comedian Ron Zimmerman for a pilot script set in early 1960s

Cher: Oscar winner, iconic diva and...biker bride? London's Sun is reporting that the 66-year-old Moonstruck star is planning to tie the knot in a quickie Vegas ceremony with her on-again beau, 42-year-old Hell's Angel Tim Medvetz, sometime this fall. But is Cher really gearing up to go down the marital road for the third time? If only the tabloids could turn back time, because Cher's rep assures E! News that the engagement story is not true. The singer-actress first dated Medvetz, who appeared on the second season of the Discovery Channel's Everest: Beyond the Limit, back in 2008. She was linked for some time to comedy writer Ron Zimmerman, but apparently she and Medvetz have since...

With the upcoming release of Warner Bros.’ The Green Lantern this Friday, I think it’s fair to say the comic book movie has become almost annoyingly ubiquitous over the past few years – not surprising given the sub-genre’s mostly sturdy record at the box-office.
Even so, it’ll probably be a long, long time before we ever see a big-budget Hollywood film depicting the exploits of a gay superhero – a fact that of course can’t stop us from thinking about it. Following from that, below I’ve put together a list of twelve queer crusaders who I’d like to see fighting the forces of evil on the big screen, along with my fantasy casting choices for each.
Obsidian (DC)
Fantasy Casting: Luke Macfarlane
Speaking of the Green Lantern, DC’s famed superhero actually has a lesser-known crime-fighting son named Todd Rice, who goes by the superhero alias Obsidian,...

Cher claims she dates younger men because older guys have never been interested in her.
The 64-year-old actress-and-singer is known for her penchant for toy boys but insists she never had much of a choice when it comes to who she romances.
Cher - who is currently in a relationship with comedian-and-writer Ron Zimmerman - said, "Older men were never interested in me. It's a misconception that I had a big choice in men and only pursued really young men."
The Oscar-winning actress believes her relationships with younger men - which have included romances with Val Kilmer, Tom Cruise and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora - prevented some directors from giving her work as they were worried about her reputation.
In an interview with German TV station Tele 5, she explained, "For years I was approaching and pestering a lot of different directors. But they always said, 'She might be talented,...

Cher is attracted to men who have a "great sense of humor". The 64-year-old actress-and-singer is known for her penchant for younger guys but she insists she is more interested in men who can make her laugh.
"I'm fascinated by men with great senses of humor. That's certainly a major thing for me," she said. When quizzed on whether she still prefers younger men, she replied, "I kind of do but now I'm so old that even the old men are younger than me."
One of the reasons why the "Burlesque" star likes funny guys could be because she is immature and has never grown-up. In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said, "I'm just really immature. I have always been like that. My mother is like it too. She's 84 and really immature. The older we get, the more immature we get."

Are Cher and her 52-year-old screenwriter boyfriend Ron Zimmerman dunzo? Before you add this couple to the growing list of recent Hollywood breakups, Zimmerman tells us… He was never exactly Cher's "boyfriend" in the first place. As we first told you back in Sept., the two first met through Facebook while Cher was in Vegas for her longstanding show at Caesar's Palace. "We're best friends and we love each other," Zimmerman says. "We don't conform to any traditional relationship stuff." Hmm...does that mean Cher's may have nabbed herself a friend with benefits? Cher's rep did not immediately comment.

Pop superstar Cher developed a relationship with screenwriter Ron Zimmerman after meeting him on social networking website Facebook.com. The "Believe" hitmaker, 64, began dating Zimmerman earlier this year, but their romance has since cooled and they are now the closest of friends.
She tells U.S. TV host Jay Leno, "We're hillybilly cousins right now. We're trying to get through the part with the boyfriend/girlfriend to best friends. We're having a hard time with it." And Cher, who has a concert residency in Las Vegas, admits she has the internet to thank for putting her in touch with Zimmerman - because she became intrigued by his "strange" personality after seeing his profile on Facebook.
She says, "I met him on Facebook. Really! In Vegas sometimes I get a really bad throat so I can't talk so my friend Laurie said, 'You should come on Facebook, I'm on Facebook with a lot of old friends,...

Cher considered suicide because she was so unhappy in her marriage to Sonny Bono. The legendary singer, who married her musical partner in 1964, struggled to cope with her partner's womanizing ways and controlling attitude, and now accepts they should never have wed.
"He didn't want me to grow up or have any freedom," she said. "I wasn't allowed to do anything except work. We worked more than we lived. Stardom made Sonny a huge womanizer. One woman, or even five, was not enough for him. I found all this out afterward."
"I asked him, 'How did you manage the logistics?' I was trusting and faithful with him. The truth is, I'm not so sure we should've ever been husband and wife. I thought about jumping off a hotel balcony. Then I thought, 'No, I can just leave him.' "
