The film won the Grand Prize and Best Screenplay at the NY Independent Film Festival in 2006; "Me, Natalie" starring Putty Duke (received a Golden Globes Best Actress award for her role) and which earned Zweiback the prestigious Writers' Guild of America nomination for Best Written American Drama Written Directly for the Screen; "Cactus In the Snow" starring Richard Thomas, which Zweiback also Directed, was honored at a special screening at the John F. Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C. and acknowledged as "the only anti-war feature film to come out of Hollywood during the Vietnam War". Among its many accolades, Head Film Critic of the BBC, Crispin Aubrey, called it "Quite possibly the best American picture in the last ten years."; Martin Zweiback also has written numerous shows for prime- time TV series such as "Kung Fu", "Run For Your Life" and "James at 15", "Combat", "Rifleman", which received high praise as well as several Emmy nominations for actors playing major roles in those teleplays. His Kung Fu episode starring Chief Dan George was the highest rated show in the history of that acclaimed series; Zweiback is a graduate of U.C.L.A. Film School, where he was the only student to have won all three major student awards: i.e. the Screen Producers Guild Award for Best Student Film: the Screen Director's Guild Scholarship; and the Samuel Goldwyn Creative Writing Contest (twice). He also taught Motion Picture Editing as graduate student there. Martin presently has several original screenplays in various stages of development, and is working on a book titled "The Ultimate Disillusion of Grace Quigley".
