After making her directorial debut with the biker movie The Loveless (1981), Bigelow made a name for herself directing thrillers, such as Near Dark (1987), Blue Steel (1990), Point Break (1991), Strange Days (1995), and K-19: The Widowmaker (2002).

She gained critical acclaim for The Hurt Locker (2008), about a bomb squad in Iraq, and Bigelow became the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Director, with the war movie also winning Best Picture. We're receiving our first look of the third season of Star Wars: Visions, which includes more than a few surprises. The animated anthology series is getting a new season on October 29, 2025, and in a departure from the show's first two seasons, it will be returning to the worlds of three previous shorts. Collider's Maggie Lovitt shared the information and below images from her coverage at Star Wars Celebration in Shiba, Japan.

Three shorts from the show's first season — "The Duel," "The Village Bride," and "The Ninth Jedi," — will get a sequel this season. Chicago Med is gearing up for its season 10 finale. There are lots of story threads to wrap up with the current roster of characters, but showrunner Allen MacDonald knew what he was doing when he told TV Line that we will be seeing the return of a former Med star.

MacDonald confirmed that some "unexpected faces" will be in the mix for the finale. The final minutes of the hour will have some big shocks with lasting ripple effects," he explained. "It's going to be a very long summer for Chicago Med fans!" Since we have such an enticing lead to go on, we figured we'd go through the list of characters who are still alive, and determine how likely their return would be.

The questions come from a post-show credits scene honoring him.

“In Memory of Michael Waxman,” read the title card at the end of Chicago Med Season 10, Episode 18 (Together One Last Time) on April 16.

Waxman passed away earlier in April; the latest episode paid tribute to his association with the show.

Previous cast members have also left messages for and about him on social media.

Colin Donnell is a One Chicago legend. The actor played Dr. Connor Rhodes for four seasons on Chicago Med, and participated in some of the show's most indelible storylines. It's been a long time since fans have gotten to see him walk through the halls of Gaffney Medical Center, but Donnell is very much still part of the franchise family.

This connectivity was evident on Tuesday, April 8. Donnell took to Instagram to pay his respects to Michael Waxman, a former executive producer and director on Chicago Med. Waxman's information is hard to come by online, but Donnell claimed that the television veteran passed away. The walking tree that is Alan Ritchson has deftly delivered another dose of heavy-handed justice in the third season of "Reacher," which fixed everything that was wrong with season 2. Season 3 had it all: Deception, intrigue, and Reacher finally facing a villain who seems more suited to take on Godzilla than our former military police investigator. 

Standing at a ridiculous 7'2", Olivier Richters as Paul Masseralla will go down as one of the best characters on the show to date. The Dutch weightlifter did an excellent job of bringing the hulking henchman to life and making even Alan Ritchson look small. In what felt like a combative triathlon, Reacher fought Paulie over land, sea, and even spent an alarmingly long time hanging from mid-air in a barn. It was a stunning spectacle of both actors' physicality and a brilliantly choreographed fight to the death.

Dean Archer (Steven Weber) used to be somebody Chicago Med fans cheered against. He was on the right side of Gaffney Medical Center's staff, but he was often antagonistic and manipulative of those he worked with. He gave Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) a hard time for years, and he was skeptical of Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) and her ability to maintain sobriety.

Now, however, Archer has become one of the most beloved characters on the show. He's softened since his promotion to full time cast member, and allowed himself to be more vulnerable with those around him. Especially Asher. And Chicago Med's upcoming episode, "The Book of Archer," is the culmination of this character arc.

Alan Ritchson recently revealed how he was knocked unconscious while filming the Reacher Season 3 finale. The episode, 'Unfinished Business', was released today.
