Jane is an author, dramatist, scriptwriter and criminologist, who regularly appears in documentaries. These include in the US & UK 2024/5 the ITN series "Worlds Most Notorious Killers" streamed on Peacock, episodes of the Crime Channel series "The Truth About My Murder" and EM's "Fred and Rose West: Love and Murder" streamed Amazon, and "The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa" and his links with The Mob, streamed. She also appears in the BAFTA nominated Sky documentary 3-part series: "Fred West: The Glasgow Girls," produced by IWC, telling the story of the first victims of West.
Jane began on CORONATION STREET and since then her TV dramas include "IN SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES" , "The BILL" and creating and writing BBC TV drama "THE THIEVING HEADMISTRESS" starring DENIS LAWSON, PAULINE QUIRKE, GEOFFREY PALMER.
Her latest stage play "MY VOICE, MY LIFE & ME: THE MENTAL HEALTH MONOLOGUES" in 2025 is in development. Her other stage plays include "SUMMAT'S HAPPENED" based on her book "AFTER EVIL" on the young life of one of the victims of the Yorkshire Ripper. Her play "LIFER" has been adapted to audio, starring MICHELLE COLLINS with an intro by poet BRENDA BIRUNGI/ LADY UNCHAINED. Her drama "WHACK-A-MOLE", a comedy thriller featuring three generations of women and formed part of the "I'm Here, Where Are You?" Arts Festival in Cambridge, followed by a regional tour. The play was audio recorded in 2021 starring MICHELLE COLLINS, NITIN GANATRA (Masood in EASTENDERS); LINDA MARLOWE (Sylvie Carter, EASTENDERS) with a poem introduction by JLS star, ORITSE WILLIAMS.
Jane was consultant and appeared in the 90-minute film for Channel 5, "ROSE: THE MAKING OF A MONSTER" based on her book "ROSE WEST:THE MAKING OF A MONSTER", and made expert appearances in episodes of "TEN STEPS TO MURDER" (2021), "THE EARL OF SHATFESBURY MURDER", Spungold, 2022, and "THE KILLER IN MY FAMILY" ('My Deadly Relation' in the U.S.) and others.
She appears on news programmes for SKY ,eg, the Lucy Letby case, the death of Yorkshire Ripper, and ITV news programmes commenting on homicides, eg, Sabah Khan, India Chipchase, and re further possible West murders.
Her books "ROSE WEST:THE MAKING OF A MONSTER" (also available on Audible) and "AFTER EVIL" about a victim of the Yorkshire Ripper, are published by Hodder & Stoughton. Her thriller novel "BETWEEN TWO WORLDS: A DETECTIVE HOBAN NOVEL" is based on the life and work of Dennis Hoban, the iconic young Head of Leeds CID in the 1960s, and won an honorary award at the San Francisco book festival.
Jane has a Modern History degree from London University, a Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology from the University of Cambridge.
