There’s a lot to look forward to in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, coming Spring 2025 on AMC, and TV Insider spoke with the cast and The Walking Dead Universe’s Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple during New York Comic Con 2024 for all the surprising scoop. The Negan who fans will see in Season 2 is rejoined with his beloved barbed-wire bat, Lucille, and is definitely up to no good. “Jeffrey wears it like a beat-up leather jacket,” says Gimple of Morgan’s ability to slip back into the original Negan persona. “It’s exciting to play the hits, no pun intended,” the exec adds with a laugh. Meanwhile, Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) is making her way into Manhattan...

The post-apocalyptic AMC drama series “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” will film its third season across multiple regions in Spain. Production is currently underway for the new season, scheduled to premiere in 2025. This marks a shift from the previous French setting as the show explores different areas coping with the global walker outbreak.
Series lead characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier ended season two pursuing their goal to return home. In a post-finale teaser, Norman Reedus expressed Dixon’s exhaustion but determination, saying “I was ready to give up. Thought it was all over.” Melissa McBride’s Carol responded that she felt the same.
Showrunner David Zabel said the characters “should not settle down” and must “keep moving” on their journey. Filming will take place in Spain’s Galicia, Aragón, Catalonia, and Valencia regions to continuing telling their story. Zabel hinted future seasons may explore more global locations depending on the characters’ paths.

AMC’s popular post-apocalyptic series “The Walking Dead: Dead City” will return for its second season in spring 2025. Show executives unveiled a first look at the new season during a panel at New York Comic Con on Friday.
The panel featured lead actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, who play Negan and Maggie. They shared the stage with co-stars Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, and Dascha Polanco. Scott M. Gimple, chief of content for The Walking Dead universe, also attended.
A 30-second teaser trailer introduced viewers to the new season. It showed Maggie and Negan on opposing sides of a growing power struggle in Manhattan. Negan declared ominously “Power is power.” Scenes of landmarks like Radio City operating with electricity highlighted the theme of restoring control.
According to AMC, Season 2 will find Maggie and Negan caught in a war for Manhattan’s leadership. As their paths cross, escaping the conflict becomes more complex.

AMC Networks has named its first Spanish cast for the third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, currently shooting in Spain.
Eduardo Noriega, Oscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay will be series regulars, as they join Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbues in recurring roles. Their casting follows the world-weary Georgia zombie apocalypse survivor-turned-Europe backpacker Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, rambling over to Spain for season three of the successful The Walking Dead spinoff.
That’s a switch from the show’s first and upcoming second seasons, which are set in France. Noriega has had film roles in Thesis, Open Your Eyes, The Wolf, The Devil’s Backbone and Vantage Point.
Jaenada has credits that include Camarón: When Flamenco Became Legend and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Masangkay made her film debut with 1898: The Last of the Philippines and The Platform and also appeared in Código Emperador and most recently Valley of Shadows.

The Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (you can read our review Here) is set to continue with a second season that will focus on Daryl’s good friend Carol, played by Melissa McBride – and because of that, the second season has the ridiculous (and ridiculously long) title of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. The show is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 29 at 9pm Et/Pt on both AMC and AMC+… and before the first episode of season 2 even makes it to air, season 3 has already started filming in Spain!
Norman Reedus, who has been playing Daryl Dixon since the first season of The Walking Dead, and McBride (who has been playing Carol just as long) celebrated the start of production on season 3 with a video that was shared on social media:

It’s hard to say I am even a fan of The Walking Dead. Initially I only watched the first two seasons and I didn’t enjoy it enough to keep watching. Then after several more seasons, I was offered the chance to review (I think) season seven. And while I enjoyed some of it, once again it didn’t capture my imagination enough to continue to watch it. But now with the spin-offs, I thought I’d give the show another chance.
So why is a good question I guess. A huge epic zombie show still 100% appeals to me but I often thought with The Walking Dead that, because there were so many episodes each season, the quality went up and down so much. I saw The Ones Who Live had just six episodes,...

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will continue their adventures in Manhattan in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2. If season 1 set up the pieces, season 2 moves them around the board. Prepare for war, folks!
Looking ahead to the new season, fans can expect the big players in post-apocalyptic Manhattan — including The Dama (Lisa Emery) — to assert their authority. By the end of season 1, Maggie manages to find his son Hershel and bring him to safety. Meanwhile, Negan remains in Manhattan, seemingly taking on a new leadership role for the Burazi. Check out the first teaser, featuring the return of previously destroyed barbed wire-covered baseball bat, Lucille:
Speaking to Collider, showrunner Eli Journé confirmed that season 2 will feature a significant time jump of "around 6 months," allowing for Negan to garner a reputation, something he's extremely good at.

The Walking Dead may be over, but the franchise continues to find great success through its slate of spinoffs. Two sequel shows, Dead City and Daryl Dixon, were promptly renewed for more seasons, and the future of the Walking Dead universe looks bright.
Later this year, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol, will premiere. The sophomore season will mark the triumphant return of fan-favorite Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), who meets with Daryl in his new home at Mont Saint-Michel in France. Reedus has spent plenty of time rhapsodizing about the new season, even revealing that it has the single "best hour of Walking Dead ever." Watch the trailer:
Despite season 2 not even being out yet, fans are already hyping up the third installment. We can't help but look to the future, I suppose. There's good reason for it, though, because season 3 will expand both Daryl...

Location is important to The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
The first season of The Walking Dead spinoff starring the titular Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) moved the zombie action from a post-apocalyptic United States to an equally post-apocalyptic France. The second season, which premieres Sept. 29 on AMC, will bring beloved franchise figure Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) over to L’hexagone to see how the French are faring. Now the show is set to expand its European ambitions even further. And that might have some fascinating implications for the franchise’s most iconic character: Rick Grimes.

After 11 long seasons on screen, The Walking Dead series came to an end in 2022. But the characters of Rick Grimes and Michonne had left the story a while before its conclusion. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira went on to join the spin-off show, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The limited series recently had its season finale, and now fans have some questions.
Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
While the finale has given us a pretty satisfactory ending, it does not mean that it is the end of the story or that the audience is ready to say goodbye to such important characters in the franchise. Most importantly, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is whether Lincoln’s Rick and Gurira’s Michonne have any plans to continue their story with a second season.
