- (2009) Rensil D'Silva was to direct a film starring Arjun Rampal. Arjun was going to produce the film. The film was titled "The Tournament". The project was called off.
- (2013) Arjun Rampal had signed Prakash Jha's "Satsang". There were reports that it was based on spiritual guru Asaram Bapu. Prakash Jha denied these claims in the media. The film's script was not ready and Prakash Jha restarted the film in 2017. Ajay Devgan and Amrita Rao were signed. But then Prakash Jha decided to alter the character and sign Bobby Deol. The project was finally made as "Ashram".

The film. starred Arjun Rampal, Apoorva Agnihothri, Naman Sapru, Bhumika Puri,Navin Berry, Sanjay Bhatia,Rama Vij,Govind Namdeo, Ashutosh Rana, Jaspal Bhatti, Johnny Lever. Screenplay by Sanjay Bhatia, Music by Devendra -Yogendra, Produced by Rakesh Nath, Directed by Shaina Nath. Rakesh Nath decided not to produce the film and Ramesh Taurani took over the project. Arjun and Apoorva were replaced by Tusshar Kapoor and Karan Nath. Johhny Lever and Ashutosh Rana also left the project.The film was then titled "Friends" and Kirti Reddy was signed as the main lead.
- (2002) Metalight, makers of DIL VIL PYAR VYAR and SATTA, had signed director E. Niwas to direct their new film, which was to roll once Metalight's SATTA and Niwas' DUM were released. A romantic thriller, E. Niwas had planned to cast Arjun Rampal in the main role. The working title of the film is AB (now). The project was called off.

The film was based on the 1959 K.M.Nanavati murder case. The film got shelved due to Akshay Kumar's Rustam being based on the same subject.

Years later Jackie Shroff and Arjun Rampal stepped into their roles.
