Francisco de Assis Carvalho Júnior, popularly known as Chico de Assis, was born in Santa Luzia do Norte, Alagoas. A distinguished actor and director from Alagoas, he built a remarkable career across theater, film, and television. Known for his versatility and dedication to the arts, Chico has cultivated a rich and diverse body of work. He also coordinated the "Oficina de Interpretação da Palavra" and supervised the project "A Escola Vai ao Teatro", which integrates education and culture. On stage, he both acted in and directed acclaimed productions such as "Graciliano, um Brasileiro Alagoano" and "Guerreiro de Jorge".
On television, Chico de Assis gained prominence in successful soap operas and miniseries on Rede Globo, including "Deus nos Acuda", "Velho Chico", "Agosto", and "Memorial de Maria Moura".
