Battle of the Network Gays: January 08, 2010
Every week we pick the gays who we think have made the biggest splash in television (or pop culture in general) and leave it to you, the keepers of the flame, to decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week.

Okay, If you're wondering where a few rather obvious candidates are this week, we think given how much ink has been spilled around here lately over Nph, Barrowman and Oltl's "Kish" these heavy hitters should graciously retire from the battlefield this round and let some other worthy but lesser known candidates vie for the gay of the week crown.

This week's contenders:

Ugly Betty's Troy (Matt Newton)  Marc's hopelessly smitten one night stand thinks he's found his soul mate and is following Marc around while gushing about how lucky he is to have hit the jackpot in the love department on his first time out.

Amanda: Okay, what is up with that?...

Ugly Betty: Returning to Wednesday Nights, With Special Guest Stars
The bad news for Ugly Betty fans: the show is off the air until January 6.

The great news: that's a Wednesday.

As has been rumored for weeks, the show is abadoning its graveyard of a time slot on Friday nights and moving to the middle of the week when it returns. But that's not all:

Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family's Mitchell) will reprise his role as Betty's orthodontist on the January 6 installment. Among other storylines viewers can look forward to:

Betty surprises Matt with a gallery showing of his art work. Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole (pictured below) guest stars as Frances, the gallery owner; Matt Newton returns as Marc's one-night stand, Troy, who is clearly smitten with Marc; Hilda struggles with whether or not to tell Bobby that he's the father of her unborn child; Cal Hartley hires a major Hollywood player, Denise Ludwig, to replace Wilhemina.

As always,...

Vanessa Williams' Brother Cast as Her 'Ugly Betty' Drag
"Ugly Betty" is doing a family casting once again after previously hiring Becki Newton's real-life brother Matt Newton to play the role of the uber-hot Troy. This time, the comedy series is welcoming Chris Williams, who by the last name, is known as the brother of Vanessa Williams aka Wilhelmina Slater.

Entertainment Weekly that got the scoop said Chris will be featured in an early 2010 episode as Willie's "drag queen doppelganger, Wilhediva Hater." According to a tipster, Willie is hearing that someone is impersonating her regularly as a drag in a club. 'Ugly Betty' 4.08 Preview: Shakira Guest Starring
"Ugly Betty" is looking forward to have some fun in the Bahamas next week with Shakira as the guest star. In the steamy Bahamas, the love triangle between Betty, Matt and Amanda explodes, and romantic pairings abound. Things should be dreamy at the Atlantis resort, where even Shakira is staying.

Shakira has been on the show's wish list for sometime but it only happens this season. "We've mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She's an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit," showrunner Silvio Horta said.

Her role will be as herself, the icon featured in the latest issue of Mode. The photo shoot taking place in the Bahamas goes wrong but Shakira helps to save the day. The singer will be sharing scenes with Betty's nephew Justin who apparently is...

What’s Next for "Ugly Betty" (Gay-wise)? And Would There be a "Glee" Without "Betty"?
Warning: The following article contains general plot spoilers about the upcoming season of Ugly Betty.

Last week, Ugly Betty aired “Backseat Betty,” a touching episode involving Betty’s 15-year-old nephew, Justin. Over the course of the episode, we saw the friendship that is developing between Justin and Marc, an out gay man. But at the end of the episode, Justin announced, to everyone’s surprise, “I’m not gay” – although it was written in a very open-ended way.

We were curious about the future of Justin, Marc, and Ugly Betty in general, so we asked Silvio Horta, the out gay man who is the creator and executive producer for the series, and executive producers Jon Kinnally, who is also an out gay man, and Tracy Poust, who wrote last week’s episode.

What exactly did it mean when Justin claimed he wasn’t gay after being named homecoming queen by his classmates?...

Gays of our Lives (November 17, 2009)
This week one of our biggest editions of Gays of Our Lives ever includes an interview with One Life to Live head writer Ron Carlivati, responsible for the Kyle/Oliver love story that has had daytime talking and made instant stars out of Brett Claywell, who plays Kyle Lewis, and Scott Evans, who plays Oliver Fish. We talk about the creation of the storyline, how the actors felt when they learned about the plot twist and why Kish has became such a sensation.

Plus, we find out what’s next for Llanview’s gays. Where do Oliver and Kyle go from here? Is Kyle’s ex Nick (Nicholas Rodriguez) out of the picture? And what about that baby that Oliver unknowingly fathered? We cover all of that and more in our interview.

In Gool Theater, we’ve got some rather steamy and romantic clips from One Life to Live as...

You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com Question: Is Izzie really pregnant on Grey's Anatomy? —Elle Ausiello: I'll say this: ABC's promo gurus are very sneaky!
