She appeared in front of a huge and hugely excited crowd after, on Friday evening, joining the likes of Faye Dunaway, Mia Farrow, Andy García, Adrien Brody, Meg Ryan, Hilary Swank, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Irène Jacob as a recipient of the Locarno Film Festival‘s Leopard Club Award on the Swiss town’s picturesque Piazza Grande. The Friday-evening world premiere and awards ceremony was such a hot ticket in town that security had to turn people away when the square reached capacity.

Kevin Costner to Michael Douglas: 5 Stars Who Nearly Replaced Ford in The Fugitive 32 Years Ago
Image
The Fugitive was released in 1993 and marks its 32nd anniversary in August this year. It is easily one of the best action-thrillers of all time, with Harrison Ford playing the lead role of Richard Kimble in the Andrew Davis-directed movie based on the 1960s TV series of the same name.

Before Ford was selected for the lead role, several A-listers of the time, including Michael Douglas and Kevin Costner, were considered for The Fugitive. However, Ford’s casting was undoubtedly the perfect choice given his performance alongside Tommy Lee Jones. Here’s who could’ve starred in The Fugitive instead of Harrison Ford.

Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner, and More Almost Played the Lead Role in The Fugitive

The Fugitive stars Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Kimble, who is framed for his wife’s murder but escapes from custody to prove his innocence. The movie emerged as a critical and commercial success,...

Season 1 premiered on November 17, 2024, and wrapped in January, with Season 2 greenlit just two months later in March. Landman (2024)
Has Landman Been Renewed for Season 2? Here’s What We Know
Landman (2024)
Landman Season 2 is officially confirmed. Paramount+ announced the renewal in March 2025 following a highly successful first season. Production kicked off in April 2025 in Texas, with the new season slated to premiere in December 2025, just in time for the holiday season. This marks a slight shift from the initially expected November release.

What Happened in Landman Season 1?

Landman introduced viewers to Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a Texas oil “landman” navigating the cutthroat business world intertwined with crime, family drama, and corporate intrigue. The show explored Tommy’s complex relationships with his boss Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), his dysfunctional family, and the dangerous drug cartel led by Galino (Andy Garcia).

The season finale delivered a jaw-dropping twist: following Monty’s death, Tommy unexpectedly inherits the presidency of M-Tex Oil, facing a precarious financial future and cartel pressures. The personal and business stakes reached new heights, setting up a tense cliffhanger for...

‘Landman’ Season 2 Is Promising a Dangerous Romance From the Mind of Taylor Sheridan
Image
It’s been nearly eight months since Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris watched everything change in the Season 1 finale of Landman — from the shocking death of MTex Oil exec Monty (played by Jon Hamm) to the ominous introduction of Andy Garcia’s cartel boss Gallino. And while Paramount+ has yet to set a return date, we’re finally getting some fresh insight into what Taylor Sheridan has planned for Season 2 — and it sounds like the oil patch is about to get even messier. In a recent interview with TVLine, series co-creator and executive producer Christian Wallace shared new details on where things are headed, including a possible forbidden romance.

Season 1 ended with a quiet but potent moment between Tommy’s son Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chavez), the widow of his late crew member. Whether it was grief, survival, or something real between them is still a question...

Landman Season 2 Gets an Exciting Update That Will Make Taylor Sheridan Fans Happy
Image
The Taylor Sheridan universe keeps thriving. With the Yellowstone franchise set to continue with multiple spinoffs, Sheridan has other shows that have nothing to do with the Western franchise.

One of them is Landman, starring Billy Bob Thornton. The series premiered on Paramount in late 2024 and became an instant hit, leading to its Season 2 renewal. Per Collider, fans have a lot of reasons to be happy because Landman Season 2 has set a release window for December 2025.

Landman premiered on Paramount+ on Nov. 17, 2024, and started production on Season 2 in early April. Luckily, it will remain consistent with one season a year, as the upcoming entry will follow after 13 months. The announcement is in line with previous reports, which claimed the show is set to return later this year.

Landman comes fromTaylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and follows Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris, who is a petroleum landman and the Operations VP at M-Tex Oil.

Beloved Fantasy Star, 64, Is Secretly a Huge Fan of Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’
Image
Outlander star Graham McTavish knows a thing or two about sweeping dramas with big themes and bigger characters. So when he sings the praises of Landman, the latest series from Taylor Sheridan and Billy Bob Thornton, it’s worth paying attention. Speaking at the Outlander: Blood of My Blood premiere (via Gold Derby), McTavish didn’t mince words. He called Landman one of the shows this year he felt was most deserving of Emmy nominations — even though neither received any.

Despite Landman’s strong ratings, critical acclaim, and a Golden Globe nomination for Billy Bob Thornton, the oil drama was completely shut out of the major Emmy categories when nominations were announced last week. And it wasn’t alone. Not a single one of Sheridan’s six shows currently on air — including Mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone, 1923, Tulsa King, Lioness, and Landman — received a single nod in marquee categories like acting,...

Is Landman Season 2 Spreading Itself Too Thin After Jon Hamm’s Monty Miller Death?
Image
From the moment Landman season 2 was announced, I’ve had one pressing question: how do you replace a presence as commanding as Jon Hamm’s Monty Miller? As the sharp, calculating CEO of M-Tex, Monty wasn’t just a character; he was the pulse of Landman’s corporate world. His sudden death from a heart attack in season 1’s finale didn’t just shift the plot; it shook the entire structure of Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western drama.

Now, with Demi Moore’s Cami Miller, Andy Garcia’s cartel-connected Gallino, and Sam Elliott joining the fold, there’s no shortage of star power lined up to step into Monty’s place. Each brings a distinct kind of authority to Tommy Norris’s (Billy Bob Thornton) oil empire, but that’s where my concern kicks in: can Landman juggle all these heavyweights without pulling itself apart?

Tommy is set to rise as...

Andy García’s Explosive 13% Rotten Tomatoes Action Thriller Breaks Into Global Streaming Top 10
Image
Redemption Day, the 2021 Moroccan-American action thriller starring Andy García and Gary Dourdan, has unexpectedly surged into the Amazon Prime global Top 10, despite holding a dismal 14% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and just 4.5/10 on IMDb ratings.

The film, helmed and written by Hicham Hajji, follows a U.S. Marine captain who must rescue his kidnapped wife in Morocco, a plot that’s resonating far more with international audiences than critics probably ever anticipated. This week, it entered the Prime Video Top 10 in 13 countries, including major Latin American markets like Brazil, Argentina, and Peru per FlixPatrol. The strongest traction is coming from Central and South America, where the film has maintained consistent chart positions across the week.

Not just that,Redemption Day has also reached the Top 5 in Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Nicaragua, with Ecuador and Guatemala charting it for a full seven days. Costa Rica and Brazil also joined the rankings later in the week.

Billy Bob Thornton Gets Back to Work in 'Landman' Season 2 Set Images
Image
Billy Bob Thornton is back in his boots. Paramount+’s Landman has officially returned to production for Season 2, and the first set images from this week’s shoot in Dallas prove that Tommy Norris isn’t hanging up his hat anytime soon. Spotted filming Monday morning in the city’s upscale Knox District, Thornton was seen outside the Michelin-recommended restaurant Mister Charles, flanked by extras and dressed in a denim-blazer combo and signature cowboy hat. Production ran between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., according to notices obtained by The Dallas Morning News, with filming continuing later into the afternoon in Dallas’ Arts District.

Though the shoot wasn’t open to the public, curious pedestrians lined the sidewalk, catching glimpses of the Landman crew, the cast, and the logistical operation that shut down traffic in both directions on Knox Street between Travis and Cole. Flora Street and Crockett Street were also cordoned off nearby.

Despite High Ratings, Emmy Voters Shun Taylor Sheridan and Billy Bob Thornton’s Hit Western
Image
Taylor Sheridan may rule the ratings, but the Television Academy just gave him the cold shoulder — again. Despite high hopes and a full-court press by Landman stars like Billy Bob Thornton, Sheridan’s latest hit was completely shut out of the major Emmy categories when nominations were announced Tuesday morning. And it wasn’t the only one. Not a single one of the six Sheridan-created dramas currently on the air — including Mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone, 1923, Tulsa King, Lioness, and Landman — landed a single nod in a marquee category like acting, writing, or directing. And yes, we have all noticed. And no, it doesn't make any sense.

Paramount+ had particularly high hopes for Landman, which premiered to strong ratings and marked Sheridan’s latest collaboration with A-list talent. Thornton even scored a Golden Globe nomination for his work as oilman fixer Tommy Norris, which had been seen as a potential Emmy springboard.

Based on the global Abba musical hit, the first Mamma Mia! movie, released in 2008, became a widely beloved sensation, grossing over $700 million worldwide on a modest budget of $52 million. 'Landman' Season 2 Returns to Texas Following Surprise Behind-the-Scenes Shake-Up
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s Landman is back in downtown Fort Worth this week—but don’t let the familiar location fool you. While the Paramount+ hit series is returning to some of its Season 1 haunts, a surprise production shift to Oklahoma earlier this summer has shaken things up in a big way behind the scenes.

Production resumes this week in the heart of Fort Worth from Tuesday through Thursday, with cameras rolling on several downtown blocks and a full schedule of road closures to prove it.

This marks the latest stop on a busy Texas shoot, with Landman already filming in Fort Worth this past April and May, including major set pieces at Tcu and a funeral sequence in Jacksboro. But even as the crew returns to familiar ground, it’s clear Season 2 is heading into uncharted territory—literally and narratively.

What makes this week’s shoot particularly notable is that...

‘Landman’ Season 2 Uproots Filming For a Major Shift Behind the Scenes
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s oil-rig drama Landman is making a surprise move north — and no, not to Canada. The Paramount+ series has officially expanded its production footprint into Oklahoma for Season 2, marking a major shift from the show’s Texas roots. While much of Landman Season 2 has been filming across Texas since March — including scenes on Tcu’s campus, downtown Fort Worth, and a somber funeral sequence shot in Jacksboro — production is now rolling into Durant, Oklahoma, a small city about 120 miles northeast of Fort Worth.

The move signals both a behind-the-scenes evolution and the potential for new storylines, with casino scenes and new background characters on the docket. The latest filming location isn’t random. Durant is home to the Choctaw Casino & Resort, a likely setting for the new scenes, though producers haven’t officially confirmed it. Texas-based Legacy Casting is now looking for local talent to film in Durant today,...

Jason Statham's 14% Rotten Tomatoes Financial Bomb He Said "Didn't Feel Right" Is a Global Streaming Hit
Image
The Expendables 4may have bombed at the box office, but it’s thriving where it counts in 2025 — streaming. Despite a dismal 14% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and a $150 million shortfall from its break-even point, Expend4bles has become a surprise global hit on Starz, currently sitting at #7 on the streamer’s movie charts. It’s a curious twist of fate for a film that Jason Statham himself admits didn’t “feel right” to shoot — mainly due to the limited involvement of franchise patriarch Sylvester Stallone, as Statham told Cinema Express.

“In this particular story, he is absent for reasons we don't talk about. There is something about not having him around that doesn't feel right. So, we are getting through... but the best days are when he is on set.”

Stallone’s Barney Ross, who anchored the first three entries, is barely in Expend4bles, and Statham — now the clear lead — knows exactly what’s missing.

2 Years After Flopping Hard, Jason Statham & Sylvester Stallone's 14% Rotten Action Blockbuster Is Exploding on Streaming
Image
Tons of A-list Hollywood names couldn’t save Expend4bles -- also known as The Expendables 4 -- from a dismal box office haul when it was released in 2023. Now, the fourth installment in the Expendables franchise featuring Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren is finding new life on streaming.

Per FlixPatrol, Expend4bles is in the No. 6 spot in Starz' Top 10 movies in the United States as of July 1, 2025. The movie is ahead of M3GAN, Imaginary, Don’t Breathe 2, and Never Let Go. In addition to Statham, Stallone, and Lundgren, Expend4bles also stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and Randy Couture.

Expend4bles earned just over $51 million at the worldwide box office, which was about half of its reported $100 million budget. The movie also garnered the most Golden Raspberry Awards nods of any film in 2023. It was nominated for seven “Razzies” that year, including Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actor for Stallone,...

Taylor Sheridan's 78% Rotten Tomatoes Texas Drama Just Added a 'Grey's Anatomy' Fan-Favorite to Season 2
Image
Grey’s Anatomy alum Stefania Spampinato, 42, is trading scrubs for Stetsons. The actress is set to join the second season of Landman, Taylor Sheridan’s gritty West Texas oil drama for Paramount+, as the wife of Andy Garcia’s cartel boss character, Gallino. After appearing in the Season 1 finale, Gallino is set to play a much larger role in Season 2 — and now he won’t be alone.

Spampinato, best known for her role as Dr. Carina DeLuca on Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy, will recur in the upcoming season. While details about her character are still under wraps, her connection to Garcia’s Gallino suggests she’ll be central to the criminal power plays unfolding in Sheridan’s oil-patched sandbox. This marks her first major U.S. TV role since Station 19 concluded.

Gallino made his debut at the tail end of Landman’s Season 1 finale — just in time to spare Billy Bob Thornton...
