Exclusive: Apple is in early development on a limited series about Claus von Bülow, the socialite who was accused in 1981 of attempting to murder his wife Sunny. Adolescence creator Jack Thorne is attached to write and executive produce.
The project, which attracted multiple bidders, is produced by Story Syndicate through its deal with Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner). Tomorrow Studios will produce and serve as studio. Pressman Film will also produce.
A rep for Apple declined comment.
In 1990, the von Bülow story was told on the big screen in Reversal of Fortune, which starred Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons and was produced by Edward R. Pressman and Oliver Stone. It was based on the 1986 book Reversal of Fortune: Inside the von Bülow Case, written by then-law professor Alan Dershowitz. Irons earned an Oscar for his portrayal of the lawyer-turned-socialite.
The movie recounts how Sunny endured a diabetic shock and fell into a coma.

‘Tulsa King’ Star, 44, Still Thinks His Underrated Fantasy Movie Deserved a Full Trilogy [Exclusive]
Over 20 years after its release, fans of Eragon are still waiting for the fantasy novel to get a proper adaptation. Progress on Disney+'s series has been slowly creeping along since its announcement back in 2022, and 20th Century Fox's 2006 film famously fell flat with brutal reviews and an underwhelming $250 million box office haul. One person who still laments how the big-screen take on Christopher Paolini's 2002 novel panned out is Garrett Hedlund, who embodied the antihero archer Murtaugh. The original plan was for a trilogy, capturing the sweeping epic of The Inheritance Cycle from the moment Eragon and his dragon Saphira first take flight to their final confrontation with the evil King Galbatorix. If it were up to the Tron: Legacy star, that franchise would've come to fruition given that it remains one of his most positive filmmaking experiences.

Amman, Jordan — Jordan has catapulted itself to the vanguard of the global production race, unveiling a tiered cash-rebate program that returns up to 45% of local spend to filmmakers, alongside an automatic exemption from the kingdom’s 16% value added tax and 10% withholding tax — amounting to total savings of up to 56% of eligible spend.
The beefed-up scheme, quietly approved by the government in May and trumpeted at the Cannes Festival, also halves the minimum-spend threshold to just $250,000 and is already “a game-changer,” Royal Film Commission (Rfc) managing director Mohannad al-Bakri tells Variety.
“We studied every rival territory, from Abu Dhabi to Australia, and decided we had to out-incentivize them,” Al-Bakri says. “Between the rebate, zero taxes, and crews that can step straight onto a Marvel set, Jordan is now the region’s most cost-effective option.”

French distributor and exhibitor Sophie Dulac has announced the end of the Champs-Élysées Film Festival championing independent American and French cinema, following a tumultuous 14th edition in June in the wake of accusations of deteriorating staff conditions at her cinema group.
In a statement, Dulac said she had taken the “difficult decision” to stop the festival, thanking past cinema professionals, partners and members of the public who had supported the event.
She cited press reports and attacks, with “heavy consequences”, in the lead up to the festival as well as the progressive closure of cinemas on the Champs-Élysées, and a lack of financial support as the reasons.
Dulac’s decision follows a rocky edition for the festival in the wake of the firing in early June of Jean-Marc Zekri as the long-time director of the Reflet Médicis Cinema in Paris’ Latin Quarter, one of five theaters in the Dulac Cinémas network.

Jason Statham’s 2024 movie The Beekeepermay have a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but the conspiracy thriller is seeing a dip in viewership on streaming. Per FlixPatrol, as of July 9, The Beekeeper, directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer, has dropped down in MGM+’s Top 10 list.

“The Morning Show” is back this fall, and from the looks of the new teaser, things are going to get even more intense. Season 4 of the Apple TV+ drama drops on September 17, and this time it’s all about artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and the blurred lines between truth and lies.
The show has always pulled from real-world events, and this season is no different. Past seasons tackled the pandemic and the January 6 insurrection. Now, AI takes the spotlight, raising some big questions about what’s real and who can be trusted. The official logline from Apple says the Uba and Nbn networks have finished their merger, and now the team has to deal with “newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America.” It also warns of “deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups.”
In the teaser, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex walks along a row of windows.

With just two months until the premiere of The Morning Show, it's finally time to start getting hyped up for the newest season of the hit series. Today, Apple TV+ unveiled a teaser trailer for Season 4, and it showcases all the major players of the next installment of the show. The release date is set for September 17, and once again Jennifer Aniston (Friends) and Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies) return as two cutthroat journalists who both shape and are impacted by the culture of a fast-moving newsroom.
The teaser trailer doesn't reveal much in terms of story, and also provides no sneak peek of the scenes that we're about to witness in Season 4. Instead, it focuses on the intrigue and how the show will continue to be a war in which the weapons are narratives, manipulation, moral conflict, and bottom lines. The concept is pretty simple: Alex Levy (Aniston) and...

After two years Apple TV+’s flagship series “The Morning Show” will return to the streamer this September, and this time Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) and Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) are facing heightened responsibilities and scrutiny from the public.
The fourth season, which was delayed by SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023, jumps ahead two years to take place in spring 2024. The Uba-nbn merger was finalized after Alex successfully usurped her tech billionaire love interest, Paul Marks (Jon Hamm), and blocked his potential acquisition of the network. Now, the newsroom faces a new challenge in appealing to the public as truth is constantly in question and the country is more polarized than ever.
“We have to question everything we see and we hear now more than ever,” Aniston said in the Season 4 teaser.

Television, news, and media are in crisis — and what better vessel to comment on that state of affairs than Apple’s “The Morning Show” Season 4?

Picking up almost two years after its predecessor, the ten-episode fourth season starts out in spring of 2024, just a few months before a fateful U.S. Presidential election that would change the course of history.

The biggest gladiator match in the history of comic-book films feels like a stinking turd that jumps from one scene to another without even transitioning properly. At the end of the day when you look at the film it frustrates you and makes you angry. It just feels like that random drunk guy who doesn’t know where he is coming from and where he needs to move next. And finally when he gets his senses he keeps throwing up on his way home.
I have no issues with Zack Snyder. I was not pissed like the rest of the world when Man of Steel came out. In spite of the overblown, good for nothing showdown at the end, the film made sense to an extent. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice however, is a product of grand scale, atrociously placed – randomness. There are more instances in the film that...

There are a handful of human beings, fictional or real, who you simply don’t dare doubt their ability to accomplish something they set their minds to.
Rocky Balboa. Michael Jordan. Michael Myers? Tom Cruise just wrapped an unforgettable run in his Mission: Impossible series with The Final Reckoning and closed the book on nearly thirty years of breathing that rare air on both fronts: in fiction as Ethan Hunt and in the real world as himself. Dangling off planes and diving off motorcycles past the age of sixty years old while single handedly keeping the blockbuster action movie spectacle alive. While his character literally saved the world and accomplished the impossible again and again, and again to the point where we are going to have to make up a new word for impossible because it just doesn’t hold any weight once Ethan Hunt was through. Ridley Scott’s TheKingdom of Heaven may not have conquered the box office or critics when it first arrived, but the historical epic has become coveted by major streaming platforms in recent years. The movie landed on Prime Video last fall, and now it's expanding its digital footprint as it has recently arrived on Hulu. The war epic became available to stream on Hulu from July 1, increasing the show's chance of being discovered by a new generation of viewers and, for rewatchers, an opportunity to re-evaluate one of Scott’s most divisive works.
Originally released in 2005 to great fanfare, TheKingdom of Heaven boasted an impressive pedigree: Scott at the helm, a post-Lord of the RingsOrlando Bloom in the lead, and a sprawling medieval story of the Crusades co-starring Liam Neeson, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, and Edward Norton. The budget ballooned to $130 million, and understandably, expectations were set sky-high. But the...

Deepfakes, AI, and a messy merger set the stage for another explosive season.
I’ve been hooked on “The Morning Show” from the word go. I mean, come on, that first season featured Steve Carell teaming up with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston for a sharp, behind-the-scenes drama about morning news? I was all in before the first episode even aired. And honestly, this is kind of Apple TV+’s whole deal: take massive talent, throw them into big, complicated stories, and let the sparks fly. Every season has been messy in the best way — full of power plays, bad decisions, and people trying (and failing) to do the right thing. Now with Season 4 dropping Wednesday, Sept. 17, we’re in for another wild ride. Let’s break it all down. Here’s everything to know about “The Morning Show” Season 4.

At the height of his Game of Thrones career, when Tyrion Lannister was a name on everyone's lips, the ever-brilliant Peter Dinklage signed on to a brooding Western project that promised an ensemble including the likes of Sophia Lillis, Noomi Rapace, and Charlie Plummer. Alas, after entering development hell and that trio all leaving the project, The Thicket was put on the back burner, only to finally return last year with little to no fanfare.

Jason Statham kicked off 2025 with A Working Man, his latest action vehicle directed by David Ayer. But, before he ever put on his construction hat as Levon Cade, he suited up in another action thriller that just hit an important streaming milestone. Statham stars alongside Jeremy Irons and Josh Hutcherson in The Beekeeper, the 2024 action thriller following a former operative who is pulled back into his old life on a dark vengeance campaign. The Beekeeper has been streaming on both Prime Video and Amazon MGM+ since last year, and it’s now been in the top 10 for over 120 days straight on both streamers. Acclaimed filmmaker Sir Ridley Scott has been behind some of the most iconic films of all time. He has helmed many box office hits, although his projects weren't always a hit with the critics.
2005's Kingdom of Heaven is one of them. His lesser-known historical epic premiered on May 6, 2005, and received mixed reviews, but made decent money at the box office. As the film recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, Kingdom of Heaven has also scored a brand-new streaming home and will head to Hulu on July 1, per WhenToStream.
The historical epic had previously switched streaming homes late last year. Ahead of Gladiator II's release, which marked the sequel to probably one of Ridley Scott's most famous works, 2000's Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven headed to Prime Video on Nov. 1. The film had been available on Disney+ before, and now it's heading to Hulu.

"The Lion King" is the 1994 hit film based on William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," and it tells a story of deception that leads one lion to seek justice for the father he lost. If you're a 1990s kid like me, you know this story like the back of your hand, and you can probably sing "Hakuna Matata" in your sleep. While we are well-versed in the lives of Simba, Mufasa, and Scar, their conflict in "The Lion King" is just the beginning. Ever since "The Lion King" made Disney the king of the box office, the company has been working diligently to create new stories in this universe and introduce new characters. This means that Mufasa and Simba's family tree has grown well beyond what we see in the original film.

When "Kingdom of Heaven" dashed into theaters in 2005, it carried an enormous amount of hype. Not only was it Ridley Scott's first full-blown epic since the box office and Oscar phenomenon "Gladiator," released five years prior, but it featured an astonishing cast -- Orlando Bloom, fresh off "Lord of the Rings," Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, and Liam Neeson -- boasted handsome production values, a terrific trailer, and an intriguing concept. Who didn't want to see the director of "Gladiator" tackle the Crusades?
Well, as it turns out, not too many people. "Kingdom of Heaven" cost a reported $110 million to produce (excluding publicity and advertising) and opened to a modest $19 million in the United States, en route to a disappointing $47.5 million domestic total. Ouch. Internationally, the picture fared better, collecting $171 million to raise its worldwide gross to $218 million -- not terrible, but a far cry from "Gladiator's" impressive $451 million take.

Talking to Ridley Scott feels a bit like it must have been to watch gladiator matches in the Roman Colosseum: You never quite know what to expect, but it’s guaranteed to be an exciting ride.
He’s been knighted, nominated for four Oscars, and his films have grossed more than $5 billion worldwide. Even if he wasn’t 87 years old and 30 films into an almost 50-year career, Scott has earned the right to talk about what he likes. On a recent Sunday morning, the subject was his 2005 film “Kingdom of Heaven,” which now receives a limited re-release in theaters and a spanking-new 4K transfer on home video.
Starring Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, and Edward Norton, the original “Kingdom of Heaven” grossed $218 million worldwide up against a $130 million budget and mixed reviews. At the time an underwhelming period follow-up from the man who previously directed Best Picture winner “Gladiator,...

The Lion King’s Original Title, Scrapped Scenes & Forgotten Songs Will Leave You Stunned ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Disney’s The Lion King wasn’t always the roaring success we remember. In fact, it was almost called King of the Jungle, per sources. The catch? Lions don’t live in the jungle. Once the creators realized this, the iconic title was changed, setting the stage for what’d become one of Disney’s most beloved animated classics.
Almost 25 years ago, The Lion King introduced us to the circle of life, hakuna matata, and the savanna’s most intense sibling rivalry. As Disney prepared for the live-action remake, it was the perfect time to look back on the original’s legacy and uncover its most surprising secrets.
Back in production, The Lion King was overshadowed by Pocahontas. Many top animators jumped to work on Pocahontas, expecting it to be the bigger hit.
