The Real Housewives of London (2025)
Real Housewives Heads to London as Hayu Sets August Premiere
The Real Housewives of London (2025)
Hayu will debut The Real Housewives of London on 18 August, marking the streamer’s first self-commissioned programme and the 30th international outing for NBCUniversal’s long-running reality franchise.

The 10-episode season follows six well-connected women navigating wealth and reputation in the capital: fashion influencer and Ladies of London alum Juliet Angus; skincare entrepreneur Amanda Cronin; former Real Housewives of Jersey cast-member Karen Loderick-Peace; Australian-born events impresario Juliet Mayhew; Mayfair socialite Panthea Parker; and pâtissière-turned-businesswoman Nessie Welschinger. Shooting began in March, and a trailer teases champagne-fuelled rows, a Highland escape and Parker’s lavish 50th-birthday party, with comedian Katherine Ryan confirmed to host the reunion special.

“London is an iconic location for our core markets, so commissioning an original there felt like the next logical step in super-serving fans,” said Hayu managing director Hendrik McDermott, framing the launch as a milestone in the platform’s push for distinctive content across 45 territories.

Timebomb | In 1991, Michael Biehn got his own Jason Bourne thriller
Image
The Terminator’s Michael Biehn took the lead in 1991’s Timebomb – a B-thriller that shows what a charismatic, intense actor he can be.

The very same year his cameo as Kyle Reese was trimmed out of Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s theatrical cut, Michael Biehn finally got a deserved leading role – albeit in one of the weirder films in his long career. Currently streaming on Amazon Prime, 1991’s Timebomb isn’t a lost classic, but it absolutely is a reminder of what a terrific actor Biehn was in his 1980s and 90s prime. In a more just Hollywood, he would have been an out-and-out movie star.

Biehn plays Eddy Kay, a quiet watch repairer who’s so nice that it almost seems a bit odd that he’s single. Instead, he lives in a crummy single-room apartment with nothing in it other than a distractingly comprehensive selection of jigsaw puzzles.

‘Renegades’ Review
Image
Stars: Lee Majors, Louis Mandylor, Patsy Kensit, Nick Moran, Ian Ogilvy, Billy Murray, Paul Barber, Danny Trejo, Michael Paré, Stephanie Beacham, Michael Brandon, Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister | Written by Tom Jolliffe | Directed by Daniel Zirilli

Renegades is one of those movies that on paper has all the makings of a solid direct to DVD hit. A sizeable cast of mid-tier names that you will not only know but also have a sort of nostalgic endearment toward and that’s a great thing for you guys because they do a huge service in elevating the material and hiding any problems. A story that while not exactly breaking any new ground is just this side of madcap shenanigans so that there’s a slight air of believability to its proceedings. We are talking London gangsters, low budgets and a cast and crew that doesn’t just believe in the project but are doing...

‘Renegades’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Lee Majors, Louis Mandylor, Patsy Kensit, Nick Moran, Ian Ogilvy, Billy Murray, Paul Barber, Danny Trejo, Michael Paré, Stephanie Beacham, Michael Brandon, Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister | Written by Tom Jolliffe | Directed by Daniel Zirilli

Renegades, not to be confused with the 2017 action film of the same name, starts on a familiar enough note as retired Green Beret Major Carver getting on the wrong side of mob boss Goram. It seems Carver’s daughter Judy is a local politician and has been leading a clean up the streets campaign and making complaints about Goram’s activities. When Goram had his goons threaten her Carver got involved. And ends up beaten to death for his troubles.

When her father’s military buddies Burton, Peck, Woody, and Harris hear about it they know what needs to be done. These old soldiers are about to fight a new war on the streets of London.

Victoria Coren Mitchell in Only Connect (2008)
Only Connect’s Best, Toughest, Most Impossible Questions
Victoria Coren Mitchell in Only Connect (2008)
To outsiders, Only Connect can be a punchline. They see it as the impossible quiz show – tough, smug and incomprehensible to anybody whose photo wasn’t in the local paper for passing A-level maths aged nine. Its host makes weird jokes, its questions may as well be in another language, and its contestants are nerds who probably cut their own hair. A line in an episode of Sky comedy Breeders typifies the stance when a parent tells their child that no, they can’t be home-schooled because then they’d end up on Only Connect.

Those people couldn’t be more wrong. Not about the host’s weird jokes, the esoteric questions – which often are in another language, especially if it boasts its own computer keyboard configuration or shares homophones with English words depictable in cartoon form. Nor are they wrong about the gloriously nerdy contestants, that’s all clearly true.

In Praise of Oasis’ ‘Be Here Now,’ A Flop To Remember
Image
Happy 25th birthday to Be Here Now, Oasis’ third album and one of the most notorious bombs in rock history. The boozing, brawling Manchester lads were on top of the world in 1997, coming off two perfect albums, Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? But on August 21, the Gallagher brothers dropped the big one. Be Here Now is a lot more than just another flop album. It’s the kind of flop that legends are built on. It’s a rhinestone-studded dinosaur that cannonballed into a kiddie pool.

‘The Pebble and the Boy’ Review: British Mod Nostalgia Barely Fuels a Sputtering Scooter Road Movie
Image
The U.K. mod revival of the late 1970s and 1980s was a retro-minded movement, albeit meshed a little with then-current trends: a bit of contemporary punk, a bit of midcentury Teddy Boy grease, all swirled together with a swagger that peaked in 1979’s time-capsule rock opera “Quadrophenia.” , “The Pebble and the Boy” forgets the present-day touch that made the earlier revival hip, presenting us with a pair of Zoomers on scooters who feel wholly middle-aged in conception and sensibility. The result is an exercise in retro-upon-retro nostalgia that feels as ill-defined as a Xerox of a Xerox, though die-hard dad mods will thrill to its styling and soundtrack.

“Once a mod, always a mod” is the mantra repeated by multiple characters in the course of writer-director Chris Green’s leanly plotted film, which, even across a scant 80-minute running time, manages to repeat itself in more ways than that alone.

The Pebble and the Boy review – mod nostalgia scraped thin
Leslie Ash, Trevor Laird, Eddie Webber, Toyah Willcox, Mark Wingett, Laura McMonagle, and Sam Gittins in To Be Someone (2020)
Not even a storming soundtrack of mod classics can save a humdrum scooter-to-Brighton caper, which keeps its eye fatally on the rear-view mirror

Quadrophenia love dies hard. After July’s ill-fated cast reunion To Be Someone, now follows this humdrum standalone from the sentimental end of British cinema’s poverty row, seeking to capitalise on residual fondness for all things mod. The star is a scooter: a nifty runaround with two dozen rear-view mirrors , it’s a worthy steed for Patrick McNamee’s callow latter-day knight John Parker (geddit?) as he retraces his late dad’s tyre tracks from Burnhamland to Brighton. This journey – and the rite-of-passage it represents – encompasses legends of old Jam gigs, 1980s songs picking up where the first mods left off, and cameos from associate producer Patsy Kensit and Eldorado’s Jesse Birdsall.

Those mirrors prove symbolic of an entirely backward-looking enterprise. A prolific writer-director whose Me,...

‘The Souvenir Part II’ Film Review: Gentle British Drama Is Haunted by the Past
Joanna Hogg
As the British filmmaker most often compared to French auteurs, Joanna Hogg has strangely never had any of her previous films shown in France. But it’s also fitting that her latest, “The Souvenir Part II,” premiered on Thursday in Cannes in the Directors’ Fortnight section.

The festival is also screening Part I, which came out in 2019, enabling audiences to catch up with the action before its sequel – although sequel isn’t quite the right term for this most delicate and exquisite of follow-ups. Aftermath might be more apposite.

The first film dealt with our lead character Julie (played by Honor Swinton Byrne) and her first days at film school in 1980s London, a period marked by a relationship with the charming but raffish Anthony (Tom Burke), who turned out to be a total lying heroin addict.

In the new film, time has gone by and Julie is completing her graduation film.

‘The Sopranos’ Strip Club Location Satin Dolls Is Closing Amid Criminal Investigation

In a case of life imitating art, the New Jersey location of Tony Soprano’s infamous Bada Bing! strip club has been shut down amid pending criminal investigation, the AP reports. The Lodi, New Jersey strip club Satin Dolls has been accused of solicitation of prostitution, lewd activity, and failure to account for “large amounts of cash moving in and out of the businesses.” “Illegal activity was glorified at the ‘Bada Bing’ in the fictional world of Tony Soprano, but it has no place in modern-day New Jersey,” said New Jersey Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino in a release. “It’s time to shut it down.”

The owners of Satin Dolls have been under investigation for six years, according to the Ag’s report. One of the owners, Anthony Cardinalle, admitted to federal income tax evasion in 1995, and pled guilty in 2013 to a racketeering conspiracy linked to the Genovese crime family.

What you may not be aware of is the number of movies that have been turned into musicals. Rocky, School of Rock, Kinky Boots, Aladdin, and, of course, The Lion King (amongst many, many others) have all graced the stages of Broadway. Now, something big is heading to The Great White Way, with the announcement of the King Kong musical. This adaption, which first ran in Australia in 2013, retells the tale of the 1933 classic, with a massive puppet of the Eight Wonder of the World needing 35 puppeteers to operate it. While musicals may not be your cup of tea, you can’t deny that the prospect of seeing one of Cinema’s most iconic creatures brought to...

Eight Little-Known Facts About King Kong
The latest movie to bring the super-sized simian Kong to the big screen, Kong: Skull Island, comes out today. Kong is a very well-known movie monster, but there are some things you probably don’t know about the Eighth Wonder of the World. Here are seven bits of trivia about King Kong.

1. Despite popular belief, the name “Skull Island” was never used in the original King Kong. For decades, people have used that name to describe Kong’s island home. The new movie uses “Skull Island” in its title. But the fact is, that name was never used in the classic first version. When the characters in that version reach the island, they know they’ve come to the right place because they see “Skull Mountain”, so-named because it’s shaped like a skull. However, the island itself is never named—only Skull Mountain is.

2. The very first Japanese Kaiju movie was a little-known,...

The New 'Kong': The Secrets Behind Bringing The Big Ape Back to Life
Patsy Kensit
Kong, the giant ape, is no stranger to the big screen, having made iconic appearances as a stop-motion "Eighth Wonder of the World" in Willis O’Brien’s 1933 version of the monster to a full-scale CG incarnation in Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake (which earned a visual effects Oscar). But that also presented a giant-size challenge for the VFX team as it approached re-animating the creature for the Jordan Vogt-Roberts-directed Kong: Skull Island, from Legendary and Warner Bros., opening today.

“That was the thing that kept us up the most going into this project. How do we arrive at a design that’s unique and new and serves the...

Kong: Skull Island Review
Ever since he tried to make Fray Wray his bride in 1933, King Kong has rightfully become a cinematic icon, and throughout the years there has been many an attempt to reboot the Eighth Wonder of the World on the big screen, the most recent being Peter Jackson’s incredibly faithful remake in 2005. Now, Warner Bros. are trying their hand at rebooting the world’s most famous giant ape with Kong: Skull Island, which also pulls double duty by further deepening the Monsterverse, the shared universe that began with Gareth Edward’s Godzilla reboot and will eventually lead to 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong. Whereas Jackson’s version of the classic story stayed incredibly faithful to the original, Kong: Skull Island takes the concept and spins a new, more action oriented narrative putting Monarch, the monster hunting organisation introduced in 2014’s Godzilla, front and centre. It’s 1973, at the tail end of the Vietnam war,...

Final Trailer For Kong: Skull Island
Kong: Skull Island crashes onto our screen on March 10th, and one final trailer has come our way to give us our best taste yet of what is in store for us. And what is that exactly? Well, judging by this its a nice line in odd humour (mainly from that old hand himself John C. Rielly), intense action, and Kong going medieval on whatever is put in front of him. Seeing the titular Eighth Wonder of the World in action (especially when we get up close and personal with Mr. Kong early on, playing with our heroes helicopters) makes me absolutely giddy, and I seriously can’t wait for this to finally come our way. Released: March 10th Synopsis: This compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings of Summer”) tells the story of a diverse team of scientists, soldiers and adventurers uniting to explore a mythical, uncharted island in the Pacific,...

50 forgotten sci-fi films from the 1990s
We may remember Independence Day, The Matrix, The Phantom Menace. But what about these forgotten 90s sci-fi films? And are any worth seeing?

Think back to the science fiction cinema of the 1990s, and some of the decade's biggest box-office hits will immediately spring to mind: The Phantom Menace, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Men In Black, Armageddon and Terminator 2 were all in the top 20 most lucrative films of the era.

But what about the sci-fi films of the 1990s that failed to make even close to the same cultural and financial impact of those big hitters? These are the films this list is devoted to - the flops, the straight-to-video releases, the low-budget and critically-derided. So here's a mix of everything from hidden classics to forgettable dreck,...

Michael Keaton And Jk Simmons Depart Kong: Skull Island
Legendary Pictures unleashed a mighty roar at Comic-Con last year when it announced big-budget King Kong prequel Kong: Skull Island, a period piece that will reintroduce moviegoers to the heralded Eighth Wonder of the World. Soon after, though, the pic fell somewhat under the radar. And now, as crowds prepare to again flood San Diego, it’s been revealed that Skull Island has suffered a serious blow, with both Michael Keaton and Jk Simmons vacating their roles.

The simultaneous exits are believed to relate to scheduling conflicts. Skull Island recently pushed back production from this fall to the end of the year, and the sure-to-be demanding shoot just couldn’t work out with both actors’ busier-than-ever slates. As for Tom Hiddleston, as far as we know, he still remains attached in the lead role.

Keaton, who was Oscar-nominated last year for a career-revitalizing lead turn in Birdman (or the Unexpected...

7 Reasons the Women of 'The Bachelor' Should Want to Live in Iowa
Grant Ellis in The Bachelor (2002)
It's down to the final two on The Bachelor and while finalists Whitney and Becca seem to have fallen in love with Chris Soules, they're (understandably) not exactly thrilled about possibly moving to Iowa.

News: 9 Reasons Why Kaitlyn Bristowe Should Be the Next 'Bachelorette'!

At first glance, the Hawkeye State may not seem to have much to offer, but we did some research and there are some pros to balance out the cons.

1. It's one of the Top 10 least-expensive states to live in.

ABC

The cost of living index is 92.5, according to USA Today, which means the average home will cost you $140,000.

2. It's safe. Iowa is one of the safest states in the U.S. to live in.

Etonline

The fact that it's comprised of 92 percent farmland probably plays a part in this statistic.

3. They'll be able to see the stars at night.

If they wish upon enough shooting stars they might be able to get...

Patsy Kensit regrets roles
Patsy Kensit is only proud of ''a handful'' of her TV and film roles. The 46-year-old actress has starred in 'Holby City' and 'Emmerdale' as well as movies such as 'Lethal Weapon 2' but feels embarrassed by a lot of the productions in which she has appeared, leading her to become more picky as she has got older. She admitted: ''I used to take the wrong movie roles because I came from nothing and economically it was good for me. But when you do that, you sell yourself to the devil. I can think of only a handful of films and TV...

The Perez Show is cancelled: CBB star's 13 most melodramatic moments
It's no longer The Perez Show following the showbiz blogger's departure in last night's (February 4) double eviction on Celebrity Big Brother.

"Precocious," "horrific" and a "complete cretin" were just a handful of names Perez Hilton was called throughout the series, and while we'd probably agree with most, we'd also argue that he's been one of the most entertaining housemates in the history of CBB.

As Emma Willis remarked (once Perez had stopped prattling on about sleeping pills and self-medicating), he's had our brain in a spin for the last four weeks and has provided a host of watercooler moments - for good and for bad.

Plus, we'll really miss the angry way he dramatically pronounced Katie Hopkins.

Here's the showbiz blogger's most melodramatic moments on the show below:

1."Did you apologise to the woman whose husband you f**ked?!"

Perez Hilton unashamedly stepped back on his soapbox as he dramatically...

Celebrity Big Brother's Patsy Kensit: 'I really like Perez Hilton'
Celebrity Big Brother's Patsy Kensit has argued that Perez Hilton does have a "great side".

Kensit - who became the third celebrity to be evicted from the house last week - said that the showbiz columnist was someone she could "hang out with".

Hilton left the house last night (February 4) in a double eviction alongside popstar Kavana.

Speaking on Lorraine, Kensit said: "There was this divide and I said many times, 'I'm not joining anyone's army, we're not at school'... Perez has a great side to him when he's contained and I could hang out with that... I really like the guy. I think he probably loathes me!"

She said of her time in the house: "The tension in there even when there wasn't a row, it was palpable... the atmosphere you could cut it with a knife."

The former Emmerdale actress also admitted that her ex-husbands were surprised...

CBB's Cami: "Perez is like '80s porn, you can't take your eyes off it"
Cami Li compared Perez Hilton to "'80s porn - bad, but you can't take your eyes off it" following her shock eviction from last night's Celebrity Big Brother (February 2).

The Miami model was nominated alongside Keith Chegwin, Perez Hilton and Katie Price in the show's shock twist which saw her leave the house on Monday night..

Cami Li also criticised former housemate Nadia Sawalha for being "consumed by Perez's energy", and was cynical as to whether the Loose Women panelist had still liked the showbiz blogger towards the end of her time in the house.

Speaking to Digital Spy and others about her sudden exit, she revealed: "It was expected. I thought I was going to be next to go. We all know Perez's arse ain't going."

On whether she was surprised that the public had kept her in for so long, she joked: "Yeah, They're a tortured bunch.
