This summer, the new horror movie Witchboard will be hitting theaters. The film is a remake of Kevin S. Tenney's movie of the same name released in 1986, and it has some notable names from the horror genre on board.
Set to be released on Aug. 15, Witchboard is directed by Chuck Russell. Jamie Campbell Bower of Stranger Things fame is also a part of the cast. The film is rated R for "strong bloody violence, gore, language, drug content, some sexual content, and brief nudity." A sneak peek at the film can be seen by watching the new trailer below.

Hold onto your hats, horror fans, because the new trailer for the Witchboard remake is finally here, and it's nothing like the beloved 80s cult-classic. Directed by Chuck Russell, this version promises to deliver a whole new experience that's light on laughs, and heavy on supernatural thrills.
Featuring Madison Iseman (star of the USA Network's upcoming adaptation of John Grisham's The Rainmaker), the Witchboard trailer kicks off with a bang, showcasing not the Ouija board that was at the heart of the 1986 film, but a pendulum board, which, we guess is kind of scary? "There are powerful forces at play," says Jamie Campbell Bower's character of Alexander Babtiste shortly thereafter as we're treated to some erotic scenes before Iseman is assaulted by disembodied hands coming up from her mattress to grab her. Kind of cliché, but not bad. From there, the trailer descends into an all-out assault on the senses,...

Modern horror reimaginings of classic films aren’t all that uncommon, and the latest to fall into this genre just got a thrilling new look. We’re elated to partner with The Avenue and Atlas Distributing as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event to unveil a new image from Witchboard, the upcoming film starring Jamie Campbell Bower. Witchboard is a reimagining of the 1986 film of the same name, but it will feature an entirely new cast. The film tells the story of an ancient witchboard that unleashes a long-dead witch who wreaks murderous mayhem in present-day New Orleans. In addition to Bower, Madison Iseman, Aaron Dominguez, Melanie Jarnson, Charlie Tahan, and Antonia Desplat will also star in the film, which was written by Chuck Russell and Greg McKay, with Russell directing. The reimagining is inspired by Kevin Tenney’s classic Witchboard screenplay and will be released on August 15.

John Sykes, a hard-rock guitarist and singer who played with Thin Lizzy before joining Whitesnake for its smash 1987 album and later forming Blue Murder, has died of cancer. He was 65.
The news was confirmed on Sykes’ Facebook page, but other details including a date of death were not provided.
“He will be remembered by many as a man with exceptional musical talent, but for those who didn’t know him personally, he was a thoughtful, kind and charismatic man whose presence lit up the room.” the statement reads in part. “He certainly marched to the beat of his own drum and always pulled for the underdog.”
Born on July 29, 1959, in Reading, England, Sykes began playing guitar as a teenager, inspired by the legion of late-’60s British axmen. He played with metal band Tygers of Pan Tang in the early 1980s before joining Phil Lynott in Thin Lizzy for 12th album.

There’s scene in 1984’s Bachelor Party perfectly sums up just how stupid – and hilarious – the movie is. It involves a donkey overdosing on cocaine. Not because anyone gave the donkey cocaine, mind you. No, it’s the donkey’s choice, as he strolls over to a table full of drugs, chops up some lines with his hoof, and goes to town. He then dies of a massive heart attack. A cautionary tale, to be sure. If you haven’t seen Bachelor Party and that joke strikes you as in particularly bad taste, you probably don’t need to track this movie down because it doesn’t get any classier.
However, for a generation of us, Bachelor Party was a late night sleepover classic. It was like The Hangover of the 1980s, albeit not as big of a hit. It’s the raciest movie Tom Hanks ever made, with him...

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob director Chuck Russell makes his long-awaited return to horror with Witchboard, a remake of writer/director Kevin S. Tenney’s original 1986 movie that premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival last week.
Madison Iseman (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram) and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) star in the horror movie. Director Chuck Russell co-wrote the script with Greg McKay.
Iseman stars as Emily, a former addict who works with her fiancé Christian (Dominguez) and a group of their friends to open an organic café, refurbishing an old carriage house in New Orleans’ French Quarter. When Emily finds an antique pendulum board, she unwittingly becomes a pawn in a bewitching battle over her soul. Director Chuck Russell wanted to remake Witchboard because he felt he could bring a fresh sensibility to the film and explore the interesting legacy of the Wiccan world. The new version of Witchboard is edgier and features a star-studded cast, including Jamie Campbell Bower, Madison Iseman, Aaron Dominguez, Antonia Desplat, and Charlie Tahan. Russell emphasizes that a good scare in horror movies is all about tension, timing, and payoff, similar to getting a good laugh in a comedy. He hopes to deliver a story, characters, and scares that will excite fans of the original film.
A remake of the 1986 horror classic Witchboard follows engaged couple Emily and Christian. While preparing to open their bistro in the New Orleans French Quarter, the couple stumbles upon a pendulum board, a strange Wiccan artifact. Emily becomes obsessed with the power of the board and its ability to summon spirits, much to Christian's horror.

Kelly Clarkson took on Whitesnake’s 1987 hit “Here I Go Again” on Wednesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Backed by her band, the powerhouse singer belted out the English rock group’s single, which topped the Billboard Hot 100, for Kellyoke’s opening segment. “Though I keep searching for an answer/ I never seem to find what I’m looking for/ Oh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on/ ‘Cause I know what it means/ To walk along the lonely street of dreams,” Clarkson sang with a punch of vibrato.

Sunday’s SAG Awards ceremony will return to its normal two-hour live format on TNT and TBS. One of the highlights each year is the special In Memoriam segment. It’s been a particularly rough year with over 100 deaths of prominent actors and actresses who were likely members of SAG/AFTRA. Show producers typically are able to include approximately 40-50 people in a tribute. The 2021 segment saluted 55 people because they had responsibility for 14 months instead of 12.
Among that group will certainly be previous SAG president Ed Asner, who was also a life achievement award recipient. That honorary award was also presented to Sidney Poitier and Betty White, who both died this past year.

I came of age (whatever that means) in the ’80s, so I’m always very interested in what Severin Films re-releases from that era; some I’ve seen and some I haven’t, and others I’ve never even heard of before. The two new releases from Severin I’ll be looking at today fit in that middle category—ones I know of very well, but yet remained unseen. Until now, that is; Severin has seen fit to load up the fantasy/actioner/softcore Gwendoline (1984) and the harrowingly violent The Boys Next Door (1985) with everything a viewer could want to know.
Gwendoline (1984): Otherwise known as The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak, this film is goofy, immature, leering, and has stunning set design. Yes, it’s French; how’d you guess? Who is Emmanuelle? In the 1970s, the name was synonymous with sophisticated sensuality. French director Just Jaeckin’s 1974 film, based on a 1959 erotic novel and starring Sylvia Kristel as the sexually adventurous title character, launched a soft focus empire leading to two more canonical installments, the fabulously titled Emmanuelle II: The Joys of a Woman and Goodbye Emmanuelle. Emmanuelle is playing in a sparkling new restoration at New York's Quad Cinema, alongside the other films in the trilogy and a handful of the more dubious spinoffs. The Quad is also showing six other films by Jaeckin, among them his similarly porno-chic The Story of O (1975) and the wild Indiana Jones rip-off-meets-S&M-cartoon The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak (1984), starring none other than video vixen Tawny Kitaen. Emmanuelle was Jaeckin’s first film and remains his best known—and while it may not be great cinema,...

Ahead of Monday’s Season 14 Semi-Finals of The Voice, I was feeling pretty confident that I already knew which singers would be making up the Final Four: Team Blake’s Pryor Baird and Kyla Jade, Team Alicia’s Britton Buchanan and Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli. (If they really do go to the Finals, that isn’t half bad, given my historically spotty track record as a prognosticator; when I made my initial prediction a month ago, I picked three out of those four but had subbed in Jackie Foster for Pryor — a mistake, I now suspect.) So the question...

The midseason finale of Botched airs tonight as Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow lend their expertise to actress and music video vixen Tawny Kitaen (remember those Whitesnake videos and the movie Witchboard?). At the height of her career in the 80s, actress Tawny Kitaen wanted bigger breasts.
“It must have been something inside of myself where I wasn’t feeling secure enough about myself, and I thought, ‘Well, this will take care of the problem,’ ” Kitaen, 56, says in this exclusive clip from Thursday’s episode of Botched.
So Kitaen, who famously starred in Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again” video, decided to get breast implants, but the doctors took advantage of her.

Life is definitely not like the movies! On this Thursday's episode of Botched, Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif are very familiar with their patient Tawny Kitaen. "You were like the sexiest hood ornament of the '80s," Dr. Dubrow remarked. Celebrity or not, today she's just a woman looking for help with a boob job gone wrong. It wasn't until Tawny was already famous and successful that she decided to get breast implants. The word "party," by it's very nature, implies that you're gonna have a good time. Just think about how we use that word. "Lets partttttyyyyy!!!" In fact, "party" is more of a term than it is a word. How many times have we heard someone say, "We're gonna party"? Now, if you take that term and pair it with a movie, you have something special indeed.
If you can take a movie and convey the frenzied energy of a party, you have that rare mix of comedy gold and spontaneity that can't be contained. In fact, the right party movie, whether it takes place all in one night or over a few days, can be watched multiple times. In fact, the best of these movies elicit a certain warmth that not even the most milquetoast of offerings can dredge up.
At their best, party movies are a true window into our souls.

But were back on track and ready to announce the winner of the last fight If youll recall Tawny Kitaen of Witchboard was up against Janet Wright of the lesserknown American Gothic. Its not a surprise to learn that Ms. Kitaen takes the win and will move onto the semifinal round. We wish we could see more of Ms. Wrights fabulous Fanny (that didnt sound quite right) but she will take a bow and leave the ring for good. As for Kitaens Linda well see you in the near future. There are roughly 900,000 tribute pieces online this week about the 1985 John Hughes film "The Breakfast Club," and I understand the motivation. If you were the right age when the film was released (I was 15 at the time), that movie felt like a lightning bolt right to the face. Hughes treated teenagers like they were actual people with complex emotional lives worthy of respect, and while that would seem to be a logical approach to writing about any character, it certainly didn't feel average when he did it. He wrote about that secret world of teenagers with what felt like laser accuracy, and he basically created an entire industry of movies that tried to tap into that same audience. So certainly, there is much to celebrate when looking back at that particular film, but when I went to look at a list of the films that came out in 1985, a year...

It's been 28 years since Whitesnake released their famous single "Here I Go Again" -- and, last night, the song's music video vixen made a very rare public appearance. Tawny Kitaen, the very same woman who did cartwheels on the hood of a classic car in the 1987 video, hit the red carpet in Los Angeles. Still sporting her signature red hair, the former model and ex-wife of Whitesnake frontman David Cloverdale (left) looked great at the premiere of Amazon's new series "Bosch." The 53-year-old was on hand to support Jenica Bergere, an actress in the series who also directed Kitaen in the upcoming film "Come Simi." In the year since dancing around in a sheer white dress in the now-infamous video, Kitean married and divorced Cloverdale, before following suit with pitcher Chuck Finley. Following her 2002 divorce from Finley, Kitaen was arrested for drug possession in 2006 and followed it up with stints...

Blast from the past! Tawny Kitaen, who was once married to Whitesnake's David Coverdale and appeared in many of the band's glam rock music videos, is back on the scene. As a teen just getting into the world of low-budget horror movies, and straight to VHS fare, there were a handful of directors whose work I would buy and/or rent without fail and without any prior knowledge (besides the spiel on the back of the box) of what i was getting into. One of those directors was Fred Olen Ray, the genius behind such films as Scalps, Star Slammer, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Evil Toons, Cyclone and the awesome Scream Queen Hot Tub Party. However in the intervening years it’s safe to say I haven’t had the urge to watch as many of his flicks as I did in the 80s/90s heyday...

Tom Hanks' raucous 1984 comedy classic Bachelor Party is being rebooted as a TV anthology series for ABC.
The half hour sitcom has already earned a big put pilot commitment from the network and 20th Century Fox TV. Fox also has a TV show remake of Tom Hanks' 1988 comedy Big in development, as the studio was behind both films. Bachelor Party is being produced by the Small Dog Picture Co., run by feature film director Jason Winer, and Walcott Co., run by director Max Winkler and New Girl star Jake Johnson.
The Bachelor Party anthology series was co-created by New Girl writer-producers J.J. Philbin and Josh Malmuth, and will examine the sanctity of marriage through the lens of three couples: One about to get married, one divorced, and a third just starting to fall in love. They will experience their relationships day by day as they continue to grow and change.

Screen siren Tawny Kitaen returns to our screens on the hunt for a killer in After Midnight, the latest film from renowned filmmaker Fred Olen Ray (the man behind one of my favourite horror B-movies, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers). When an exotic dancer is murdered at a seedy strip club, her sister Constance (Catherine Annette – Silent But Deadly), a TV newscaster, goes undercover to find the killer. While working at the club, she quickly realizes that everyone is a suspect and that other dancers are being targeted. She must work fast to find the killer to seek her revenge before she becomes the next target.
After Midnight debuts via VOD on October 28th from Phase 4 Films, in anticipation of it’s release we chatted to star Catherine Annette about her role and working with Fred Olen Ray and Tawny Kitaen…
What was it that attracted you to the film, Catherine?...

Has Universal just released a new UK trailer for the upcoming horror film Ouija? The planchette points to yes. The new feature, wherein a group of friends try to summon the spirit of Tawny Kitaen . wait, Tawny Kitaen is still alive? Wow. Okay. The new feature, wherein a group of friends try to summon the spirit of a recently deceased pal -- only to find something much darker and far more menacing -- is due out just in time for Halloween. You can get a sneak peek at what.s in store in this new trailer, posted on the Movies Coming Soon YouTube channel. All in all, Ouija looks like a pretty predictable horror affair. For a film about contacting the souls of the dearly departed beyond the veil, the whole thing feels, well, kind of soulless in this clip. You can basically make a horror movie cliché drinking game...

The first trailer for the teen horror movie Ouija has arrived online, and you can watch it below. It's kind of surprising that there hasn't been a Ouija board-centric horror movie since 1986's Witchboard, starring Whitesnake music-video model Tawny Kitaen. Sure, the paranormal communication device has popped up in movies since then - its most notable recent appearance in Paranormal Activity - but people have stayed away from it as the crux of a horror movie. Leave it to producers Michael Bay and Jason Blum to change that. Ouija stars Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Daren Kagasoff, Bianca A. Much to my dismay, I had to miss Scream Facotyr’s second Summer of Fear Drive-in presentation of Kevin Tenney’s Night of the Demons. I was able to catch the screening of John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13, though, and it was a lot of fun to watch the film with a bunch of like-minded individuals, having a good time on twitter, and seeing some new interviews with the man himself for the first time. I’m assuming the Night of the Demons screening was equally as awesome.
