Takashi Yamazaki, the director behind Godzilla Minus One and an Academy Award® winner for Best Visual Effects, has revealed his fresh design for Mechagodzilla. This new look will appear in an exciting new attraction called Godzilla The Ride: Great Clash, opening on August 1 at Seibuen Amusement Park in Japan.

The ride features a big ocean battle between Godzilla and the new Mechagodzilla, which Yamazaki created together with the Gmo production team and Shirogumi Inc. This Mechagodzilla is named the “Kiju type 0-g Breaker” and will make its first appearance in this ride experience.

Since its debut in 1954, the Godzilla franchise has included 38 films so far, with the majority in Japanese. One of the most successful ones was 2016's Shin Godzilla.

The film came from Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, with a screenplay by Anno and visual effects by Higuchi. Shin Godzilla premiered on July 29, 2016, to critical acclaim from critics in Japan. Per Variety, Gkids has acquired the North American distribution rights for Shin Godzilla, and the film will head to theaters on Aug. 14, with a home release to follow.

The theatrical release will be in the original Japanese language with subtitles. Shin Godzilla's release will include a 4K remaster that was never released before in the U.S., with a superior quality.

In Prime Video’s limited series The Better Sister, Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks are estranged sisters Chloe and Nicky. It feels like Stranger Things has been here forever, so inextricably linked is the sci-fi series with the popular streamer, Netflix. Well, that link is about to be severed, with Stranger Things set to come to an end with its upcoming fifth and final season. In the latest murder-mystery limited drama series, estranged sisters, played by Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, put their pasts on hold to handle a bigger dilemma: a murder.

“The Better Sister,” based on the bestselling novel of the same name, premiered on Prime Video Thursday. When Chloe (Biel) finds her partner Adam in a pool of his own blood in their Hamptons house, her life turns upside down. She is forced to reunite with her estranged sister Nicky (Banks), who happens to be Adam’s ex-wife. This messy situation is heightened by the fact that Chloe and her adoptive son Ethan, who is also Nicky’s biological son, are the prime suspects in the murder case.

In addition to starring in the limited series, Biel and Banks executive produced, alongside showrunners Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado for Tomorrow Studios.

Filming is underway on Godzilla x Kong: Supernova in Brisbane, Australia, and newly surfaced footage from the movie's set (via SFFGazette.com) offers an exciting glimpse at what's to come in the Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire sequel.
