BBC Studios Kids & Family is developing a new anime-inspired series for 8-12-year-olds – the primary title in its first-look deal with Blink Industries. Children Vs Battle SuperStars [working title] is a 22 x 22′ kids’ martial arts tournament series set in a fantastical modern-day world. Inspired by the classics of the genre, it explores the comical fallout as ordinary kids come up against the extraordinary battle ‘Super Stars’. It has been created by animation duo Remus Buznea and Kyriaki (Kiki) Kyriakou who are behind hits such as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. On Wednesday June 5, cameras will begin rolling on Private Eyes West Coast, the light crime drama for Global that reunites Priestley and Sampson as quick-witted sleuths Matt Shade and Angie Everett from the original Private Eyes in a new Canadian West Coast location.

The ten-episode spinoff series, announced back in March, will see them taking on a fresh set of cases in Victoria, B.C., with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop. Lionsgate Canada and Wild Cards studio Piller/Segan, which also made the original, are co-producing the show, with Lionsgate Television handling international distribution.
