If you're familiar with great films from the past 25 years, you're probably not all that surprised that the 2007 best picture winner at the Academy Awards, "The Departed," which stars Matt Damon and a whole host of other A-list performers, is on the list. In fact, it's number 31 on the ranking.

"The cat-and-rat gangster picture that finally won Martin Scorsese his Oscar happens to be one of the most downright entertaining of the century," the outlet writes, acknowledging the frankly ridiculous fact that Scorsese hadn't won an Oscar for directing before that same ceremony in 2007. "Scorsese takes the Hong Kong flick 'Infernal Affairs' and plops it in Boston, Dropkick Murphys soundtrack and all," the reasoning for the ranking continues before shouting out the movie's unbelievable cast.

Earlier this month, Alexis Bledel withdrew herself from Emmy consideration due to a rule change. If we take a quick look at the books banned/challenged in schools in Florida, the name of a beloved, bestselling author stands out. Per the Florida-Times Union, 68 (!) Stephen King books were removed from Florida school libraries in 2024 alone, including the ones written under the now-discarded pseudonym Richard Bachman. Some books have been hit with a limited ban since then, meaning that they can be requested on a case-by-case approval basis (with many of these requests still pending).

The reasoning behind such baffling censorship remains unclear, as everything from "Pet Sematary" to "The Shining" can be found on this banned/restricted list. Moreover, not every story on this list veers into horror territory or deals with sensitive subject matters ill-suited for students in certain grades. The very subject of the film puts him in direct competition with Christopher Nolan. The Interstellar director narrated the tale of the nuclear bomb from the American side of things.

As a first step towards the film, Cameron purchased the rights to Charles Pellegrino’s book Ghosts of Hiroshima. The book will be available to readers soon, but Cameron is already working on releasing an audiobook that will have a familiar voice narrating it. Per Deadline, CBC has handed out a massive two-season renewal for Wild Cards, which is made by Blink49 Studios, Front Street Pictures, and Piller/Segan in association with The CW. The renewal comes ahead of the U.S. air date for the Season 2 finale of Wild Cards, which is set to premiere on The CW on May 7. CBC's renewal will keep Wild Cards on the air through its fourth season, with the next two seasons set to comprise 10 episodes each.
