Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery will finish out the summer with Labor Day weekend screenings of “The Princess Bride” and “The Silence of the Lambs,” plus the September screenings of “This Is Spinal Tap” with Rob Reiner in person and “Alien.”

The screening series, now in its 24th season, is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video,

“Labor Day weekend is one of our favorite times of year, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with great films and a great crowd,” said Cinespia founder John Wyatt. “There’s something electric about closing out the summer with these timeless films, especially when you’re watching them with thousands of people under an open sky,” Wyatt added.

The screenings will include Cinespia’s signature djs spinning before and after each movie, plus the popular free photo booth with backdrops from famous films. A beer and wine bar and concession stands are also available.

Fans might get another Wonder Womanmovie in the near future. The news comes by way of industry insiders close to the studio.

Sources told Variety that Warner Bros. Discovery is "fast-tracking a Wonder Woman movie. And the studio is thrilled with Matt Reeves' just-submitted screenplay draft for the sequel to The Batman." And although the studio is interested in a sequel with Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, an announcement will likely not happen any time soon. Representatives for the studio have not commented on these reports.

The last time Diana Prince was seen in her own feature film was in writer-director Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984. Released in 2020, Wonder Woman 1984 marked the second Wonder Woman film to star Gal Gadot, and dropped viewers into the middle of the 1980s for a period-appropriate superhero story. The film starred an ensemble cast, including returning star Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.

Today, Prime Video confirmed the premiere date and released the first-look images and teaser trailer for the drama series The Girlfriend, starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke.

All six episodes will be available exclusively on Prime Video starting September 10th in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name, The Girlfriend follows Laura (Wright), a woman who seemingly has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and her precious son, Daniel.

Her perfect life begins to unravel when Daniel brings home Cherry (Cooke), a girlfriend who changes everything.

After a tense introduction, Laura becomes convinced Cherry is hiding something. Is she a manipulative social climber, or is Laura just paranoid? The truth is a matter of perspective.

Olivia Cooke is about to make "a bloody good impression" on Robin Wright in Prime Video's new novel adaptation, The Girlfriend. The streaming service has just unveiled the first trailer for the drama series featuring the House of the Dragon star as the titular girlfriend and Wright as a mother who may have every right to be suspicious of her son's new love. Based on Michelle Frances' novel of the same name, it follows Laura, the mother, as she tries to unravel the young woman's intentions, whether they are social climbing or something more sinister. Viewers will find out what's up when the tense new drama premieres on September 10.

Plenty of stars were spotted in the crowd for Day 14 of the tennis championship on Sunday (July 13) held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.

Niall Horan and girlfriend Amelia Woolley, Ruth Wilson, Emilia Jones, Orlando Bloom, Nathalie Emmanuel, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Anna Wintour, and Keira Knightley and husband James Righton were among the stars seen sitting in the stands and posing for pictures at the event.

The stars were seen in the Royal Box during the Ladies’ Doubles Final match between Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens of Belgium against Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia and Hsieh Su-Wei of Chinese Taipei.

But as CGI tentpoles dominate the industry — and he’s worked on a number of them, from “Black Panther” to “Top Gun: Maverick” to “Titanic” — a little bit of the fun has come out of it.

Suddenly, you have thousands of artists on four continents — many of whom will never even meet the director, let alone work beside them — working on a film’s VFX. Robin Wright is detailing how Netflix did her wrong as an actress for “House of Cards.” Wright co-starred alongside Kevin Spacey in the hit 2013 series; she later took over as the lead star after Spacey was fired amid abuse allegations before Season 6. “House of Cards” concluded in 2018.

Wright told Variety during the Monte-Carlo Television Festival that she had to fight to get paid the same as Spacey. “Yes, it was difficult. I am going to be honest,” she said. “When I said, ‘I think it’s only fair because my character became as popular as [Spacey’s], they said, ‘We can’t pay you the same as an actor, so we will make you exec producer and you can direct. We will give you three different paychecks.’ I asked, ‘Why can’t you pay me as an actor?’ ‘Because you didn’t win an Academy Award.’”

Swedish drama Vanguard and German TV movie On A Day In September landed multiple accolades at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival’s Golden Nymph Awards, while the cast of Good Cop/Bad Cop was given the Special Jury Prize.

Vanguard won Best Series. It follows Jan Stenbeck after the Swedish media mogul’s transformative years in 1970s New York. Jakob Oftebro won Best Actor for his portrayal of the Stenbeck in the series.

German drama On A Day In September won Best Film. It revolves around a 1958 meeting of two charismatic leaders: French Prime Minister Charles de Gaulle and German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. Sweden’s “Vanguard” won the Golden Nymph Award for best series at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Tuesday, while Germany’s “On a Day in September” won best fiction film. Robin Wright received the Crystal Nymph Award from Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco to recognize her career achievements.

The ceremony made an awkward start when during an energetic dance sequence between the co-hosts, British actor Ricky Whittle and French singer Shy’m, the latter suffered a wardrobe malfunction (à la Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl). Despite the fact the incident aired live on TVMonaco and was captured by photo agencies like Getty, the pair maintained their savoir faire and continued with the ceremony without referring to it.
