The Simpsons has featured some pretty harsh celebrity burns over the years — from poking fun at John Travolta’s struggling career (less than two weeks before the release of Pulp Fiction), to lampooning Robert Downey Jr.’s legal troubles, to McBain’s brutal stand-up comedy routine about Woody Allen.

On the other hand, the celebrity guest stars who offer to voice cartoon versions of themselves on the show seem to get treated pretty well. Although Mark Hamill wasn’t crazy about the show’s suggestion that he makes personal appearances in his Star Wars costume for money.

Even harsher was the show’s portrayal of legendary talk show host Dick Cavett. In the Season Six episode “Homie the Clown,” Cavett is the host of Springfield’s Regional Ace Awards. A notorious name-dropper, Cavett ends his monologue by bluntly telling the audience, “I know Woody Allen” to a smattering of tepid applause.

Steve Pepoon, who received an Emmy for writing an episode of The Simpsons as a freelancer, worked on other TV comedies like It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, Alf and Roseanne and co-created The Wild Thornberrys, has died. He was 68.

Pepoon has been in treatment for a heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis for the past two years and died unexpectedly May 3 outside his home in Paola, Kansas, his wife, Mary Stephenson, told The Hollywood Reporter.

After moving from his native Kansas to Los Angeles in 1979, Pepoon in late 1985 finally sold his first script, which became an episode of Silver Spoons that aired in January 1986. Fifteen months later, he was hired as a staff writer on Alf, another NBC comedy, and wrote for its final three seasons through 1990.

He kept writing on spec, and one script he did for Fox’s The Simpsons, “Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment,” won him his Emmy,...

Roseanne might have been the most tumultuous sitcom set ever, with its eponymous star fighting with producers and firing writers on the daily. “I think Roseanne started screaming quite early,” said Brandon Stoddard, president of ABC Entertainment. “In general, they are not screaming in year one.”

Netflix's Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action comedy series Fubar is about to deploy for Season 2, just over two years after retired CIA operative Luke Brunner rejoined the fight. This time around, though, there will be "2x the Fubar," with the Governator set to share the screen with another action icon in the form of The Matrix legend Carrie-Anne Moss. A set of images released earlier this week officially pulled the curtain back on Moss's character this week, revealing that she'll play the mysterious black-clad East German spy Greta Nelso, who has "a passionate history" with Brunner dating back to their younger years. In recent comments to Tudum, the star shared her experience working with Schwarzenegger for the series and teased how they'll tango in the upcoming run of episodes.

According to a report from Tudum, Fubar season 2 premieres on Netflix on Thursday, June 12! That's a little bit earlier than I was planning to see the new season of the series, but hey, we'll definitely take it!

In 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the action comedy Fubar. The series was renewed for Season 2, which has added a new lead actor, and set a release date.

Fubar Season 2 started production in late May 2024, as the show set a new world record: the biggest action figure ever. The actor promised he'll "be back" as Luke Brunner, and that is closer than ever. Netflix confirmedFUBAR Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on June 12.

Following the renewal announcement, creator Nick Santora promised: "Season 2 is bananas. We’re coming up with some real fun surprises for Fubar fans in Season 2, for sure."

It was also previously revealed that Carrie-Anne Moss joined Fubar Season 2. The actress plays Greta Nelso, a former German spy with a strong history with the CIA, and also Luke's ex.

"They are icons," Santora praised Moss and Schwarzenegger. "They know how to do action, be funny, and create full and engaging characters.

In 1995, Grant starred in Nine Months. In the romcom, Grant plays a man whose longtime partner (Julianne Moore) becomes pregnant, despite her use of birth control, giving him about nine months to prepare for the unexpected addition. Grant has never been happy with his work in the movie, and in a recent interview with Variety, it was made clear he's still no fan. When the movie was brought up, Grant screamed "as if startled," the title alone making him uneasy. He clarified that it's just his own performance that he doesn't like, but be that as it may, he wouldn't be comfortable with letting his wife watch it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Arnold warmly embraced the holiday spirit once again, as they handed out food to local Los Angeles families at the 43rd annual Miracle on 1st Street Turkey Giveaway and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Deadline now reports that Hammer already has his comeback project lined up with the Western film Frontier Crucible. The movie will be starring The Punisher star Thomas Jane and is produced by Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete producer Dallas Sonnier. The movie is independently-financed and production is set to take off next month in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.

In Frontier Crucible, Hammer is said to be playing one of the “key roles” in the film, although no other details have been unveiled.

Hammer’s A-list Hollywood career was derailed back in 2021 when multiple women came forward with claims of abuse against him. Hammer denied the allegations but had to abandon several projects and was dropped by his talent agency and publicist. After an investigation into Hammer by the LA County District Attorney and LAPD, they declined to pursue criminal charges against him, citing insufficient evidence. He remains without representation other than his lawyer.
