Oh, Hi! may be some young couples’ worst nightmare, but star, co-writer and producer Molly Gordon was adamant the project not be a horror film.
During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gordon explained that as she was attempting to get the Sophie Brooks-helmed project off the ground, those she was pitching to suggested she change the genre and tone of the movie.
“It’s interesting. We were discussing that it’s such a dark time [in the industry], but horror’s kind of the only thing that’s working,” she said. “But yeah, people would go, ‘I love the movie, but can she kill him at the end?’ But it’s like, when you think of When Harry Met Sally, what if Meg Ryan just killed him at the end? I want some just romantic movies, does there have to be death always?”

David Ellison finally has his prize.
On Thursday, the Skydance Media founder closed the $8 billion merger with Paramount Global that he orchestrated, enduring political turbulence and skepticism about the viability of the company’s TV and movie empire for over a year. In order for the deal to pay off, Ellison, who will serve as chairman and CEO of the newly rechristened Paramount Skydance, must maintain strong partnerships with the creative community. Before the sale, Paramount has lacked the financial resources of competitors like Disney and Netflix, but it has been the home of top talent. Keeping them happy and busy cooking up ideas for new film, TV and streaming franchises will be critically important if Paramount Skydance wants to outmaneuver other studios.
On the film front, look for the new regime to try to maintain or even extend some crucial first-look deals as Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, who will oversee the studio,...

In 2017, MCU starTom Holland performed a forever iconic lip sync to Rihanna's "Umbrella" in a battle against his now-fiancé Zendaya, and now, he's opening up about it. Lip Sync Battle was a reality competition show that first aired on Paramount Network (formerly Spike) on April 2, 2015. The show ran for 5 seasons from 2015 to 2019.
Lip Sync Battle's concept involved two different celebrities competing against each other every week, who would have to prepare two lip-sync performances, and then the audience would decide the winner. In addition to Holland, many other notable celebrities who have appeared on the show include Channing Tatum, Kathy Bates, Kaley Cuoco, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, and more.
While a guest on Gordon Ramsay's talk show Scrambled, Holland opened up about his 2017 performance in Lip Sync Battle in drag, and how wearing fishnets was his idea. During Ramsay's show, Holland admitted that he loved showcasing his...

Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed dystopian sci-fi thriller, Severance, finally returned with new episodes early in 2025 after a three-year hiatus. Season 2 of the series, which follows a group of employees at the mysterious Lumon Industries, garnered 27 Emmy nominations, including Britt Lower for her performance as Helly R./Helena Eagan.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter,Lower opened up about how she felt when she first learned she was cast in Severance, which currently boasts a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. The first season debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022, and prior to that, Lower had appeared as a guest star in shows like American Horror Stories, High Maintenance, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and starred in the Fxx series Man Seeking Woman.
Securing the role of Helly in Severance was a big deal for Lower, who said she fell to her knees when she got the news she’d been cast.

Back in early June, a couple of days before Emmy nomination voting began, I wrote a column that included a wish list of what I’d like to see in the nominations. It was a modest list, only four items, built around the idea that what I really wanted was a slate that was a little less predictable than most recent years.
So now that we’re halfway between the announcement of the nominations and the beginning of final voting, it’s time to look back at that list and see how many of my wishes came true.
Spoiler alert: not many.
Randall Park and Uzo Aduba in “The Residence” (Netflix) Wish 1: “Pleasant surprises of any kind”
This was aimed at the Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Drama Series categories, where I worried that most of the nominees were all but locked in. And yes, all those locks got...

With the Emmy Awards just over a month away, the potential winners are starting to sever themselves from the rest of the pack.
Based on Gold Derby's latest predictions, Severance, The Studio, and Adolescence are frontrunners in drama, comedy and limited, respectively. Should our odds prove correct, Apple TV+'s wins for Severance and The Studio would mark the first time a network or streamer has won drama and comedy in the same night since HBO's victories for Game of Thrones and Veep in 2016.
Below are our latest predictions below for all 26 main categories for the Primetime Emmys, which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 14, spanning drama, comedy, limited, competition, and variety. (The other 97 races will be doled out across two Creative Arts ceremonies on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7.)

Nearly three decades later, hearts continue to break watching the tragic romance between Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's characters in the classic disaster movie, Titanic. However, over a decade after Titanic set sail in theaters, another film chronicling an emotional rollercoaster romance involving DiCaprio and Winslet is making the rounds again as Revolutionary Road crashes onto a new streaming platform.
Per Screen Rant, Revolutionary Road is now available to stream for free via Pluto TV. The free streaming news is good for audiences who want to check out the 2008 romantic drama, as it's only available to rent or purchase otherwise via Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. The film was available to stream on Paramount+ earlier this year, but has since left the platform.
Marking DiCaprio and Winslet's Titanic reunion 11 years after gripping audiences as Jack and Rose, Revolutionary Road sees the duo spark another vintage on-screen romance, portraying Frank and April Wheeler.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's post-Titanic reunion is now streaming for free. Their original collaboration was written and directed by James Cameron, blending real-life events with fictional drama. They star as two lovers from different social backgrounds aboard the ill-fated Rms Titanic during its maiden voyage in 1912.
Titanic was a landmark movie in many ways. It was the most expensive movie ever made at the time, with a production budget of $200 million, but wholly paid off by making $2.264 billion at the box office, the first film to ever surpass the billion-dollar mark, and was the highest-grossing movie of all time until Cameron's own Avatar took the title in 2010.
Critically acclaimed, Titanic received 14 Academy Award nominations and took home 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, tying the record set by Ben-Hur (1959). Among its many accomplishments, Titanic also propelled DiCaprio and Winslet to stardom, and the duo shared the...

New Matlock Season 2 casting details are coming through. TV Insider can confirm that Justina Machado is joining the CBS drama in a major recurring role, one connected to Beau Bridges‘ character. Machado will play Senior’s fourth ex-wife, Eva. Previously teased to TV Insider as a noteworthy character in the second season by showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, Eva is formidable, smart, ambitious, and Senior’s 4th ex-wife. The one who made him swear off marriage. Eva runs Jacobson Moore’s Miami office and she arrives in New York for an emergency meeting… which she uses to her advantage. Machado and Snyder Urman previously worked together on Jane the Virgin. Another alum of The CW series, Yael Grobglas, is a recurring guest star in Matlock. Matlock was one of the hit new shows of 2024. Case in point: It scored the first series renewal of the season after just two episodes aired last fall.

Jennie Snyder Urman is reuniting with another of her Jane the Virgin alumni in the law offices of Jacobson Moore. According to Deadline, Justina Machado is coming aboard in Season 2 of the creator's smash-hit legal drama series Matlock at CBS. She's set to have a big hand in the series going forward, playing Eva, the fourth ex-wife of Beau Bridges's managing partner, Senior, who may be planning some power plays of her own when she shows up in New York. For Matty (Kathy Bates), she may prove to be a complicating presence in her plans when the series returns to television on a special night on October 12.
Eva is described as a "formidable, smart, and ambitious attorney" in her own right, and she serves as the head of Jacobson Moore’s Miami office. She's also the woman who made Senior swear off marriage altogether. In Season 2, an emergency meeting...

“Matlock” has added a fresh but familiar face to its Season 2 cast. “One Day at a Time” and “Pulse” star Justina Machado will recur on the CBS legal drama.
The actress will play Eva, “a formidable, smart and ambitious attorney” who happens to be the fourth ex-wife of Jacobson Moore managing partner Howard “Senior” Markston (Beau Bridges). She runs the firm’s Miami offices and comes to New York for an emergency meeting, which she uses as an opportunity to advance her own career ambitions.

Previously on Inside Track, we looked at how Emmy season is impacting HBO Max, Netflix, and Apple TV+ — the top three platforms in terms of overall nomination count with 142, 120, and 79 nods, respectively. But if you bet the house on the parlay that the top five most-nominated outlets would all be streamers … then you’ll have to find a new place to live.
Yes, FX on Hulu claimed the No. 5 spot with 35 nominations, down from 93 nods last cycle when the streamer/cable channel combo was powered by the statuette-winning machine that was Shōgun. But fourth place didn’t go to Peacock, Disney+, Paramount+, or another other streaming service followed by a “+.” Instead, ABC put the broadcast networks on the Emmy board with 37 nominations. While that’s down slightly from its 2024 haul of 38 nominations, ABC still rose from fifth to fourth place in the overall standings compared to last year.

The Awards Magnet team is back to dish all the drama over drama at the 2025 Emmys.
While senior editors Marcus James Dixon and Denton Davidson agree on who will win most categories, they fiercely clash on others like Best Drama Series (The Pitt vs. Severance), Best Drama Guest Actress (Merritt Wever vs. Kaitlyn Dever), and Best Drama Casting (The Pitt vs. The White Lotus). Oh, the humanity!
In the lead races, they debate the closely watched contests of Kathy Bates vs. Britt Lower for Best Drama Actress, and Noah Wyle vs. Adam Scott for Best Drama Actor. Does Bates have an uphill climb because she's the only Emmy nominee from her show, Matlock? Or could Lower take her down as part of a Severance sweep? They also note how Wyle submitted the season finale of The Pitt instead of his heralded breakdown episode, while Scott put forth the absolute best option he could have,...

Every year, the Television Academy bestows Emmy Awards for lead, supporting, and guest acting performances, depending on screen time and/or eligibility factors like episode count. It's quite rare for someone to win in all three categories throughout their careers — but not impossible.

Rob Reiner is an unabashed Stephen King fan. He third movie was Stand by Me, based on the King story "The Body." Shortly after the release of that film, he formed his own production company, Castle Rock Entertainment, named after a fictional Maine town that serves as the setting for many a King tale. Over the years, Castle Rock has churned out several adaptations of the horror master's works, including The Shawshank Redemption, Misery, The Green Mile, Needful Things, Dolores Claiborne, Hearts in Atlantis, and Dreamcatcher — but, ironically, not the King-adjacent series Castle Rock, which was produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.
During a weekend appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, Reiner shared some behind-the-scenes anecdotes of his two acclaimed King features, Stand by Me (1986) and Misery (1990), which earned a Best Actress Oscar for Kathy Bates — the only film based on the novelist's work to win an Academy Award.

Scarlett Johansson made her film debut at the age of nine in Rob Reiner’s 1994 comedy North, playing the daughter of characters portrayed by John Ritter and Faith Ford.
The role was brief, but it placed her on a professional film set for the first time, surrounded by an ensemble cast and directed by one of Hollywood’s most recognizable names at the time. For a young actor, this could have easily been overwhelming. Johansson, however, approached it with professionalism.
While North moved quickly from one family to the next, Johansson’s performance didn’t lean into the chaos. She sat still, poised, delivering her lines with a sense of calm that felt unforced.
She wasn’t performing like a child trying to be cute. She wasn’t playing to the camera. She listened, responded, and let the scene happen around her without needing to overpower it. And at nine,...

In the new romantic comedy, “Oh, Hi!,” Logan Lerman finds himself speechless – in one of the kinkiest ways possible.
Lerman and Molly Gordon star as a couple, Isaac and Iris, who embark on their first weekend together. However, things take a wild turn when Isaac, still chained to a bed after a kinky sex romp, tells Iris he’s not interested in a serious monogamous relationship.
Iris decides to keep a barely dressed Isaac shackled to see if she could convince him to be her boyfriend.
At one point, he tries to yell for help but can’t because he’s muzzled by a ball gag.
“There’s nothing better than having a ball gag in your mouth when you’re trying to say words and string sentences together,” Lerman told me at the recent special screening of the movie at AMC at the Grove in Los Angeles. “I would...

This summer’s next must-see rom-com is here in the form of “Oh, Hi!,” starring Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman. But this original film from co-writer and director Sophie Brooks doesn’t follow the typical rom-com formula, as it looks at dating through a modern-day lens and a decidedly female gaze.
That element is precisely what enticed Lerman to star in the indie, after years of having romance scripts sent his way and turning them down. As the actor told TheWrap, he’s “been really particular about which one I want to commit to and be a part of” for a simple reason.
“Generally speaking, oftentimes I read them, and they’re kind of down the middle,” he explained. “You kind of know what’s going to happen at the end. The character is kind of bland.”
Lerman immediately clarified that he’d certainly watch a movie like that, and has,...

Molly Gordon isn't exactly an Annie Wilkes truther... but she does think that there's more to the villain of Stephen King's 1987 horror novel Misery — and Rob Reiner's 1990 film adaptation — than meets the eye.
"Annie's a psychopath, but you kind of understand her a little bit," Gordon tells Gold Derby about one of the most famous characters in King's menagerie of monsters. Of course, the actress stops short of exonerating the character completely. "What if I was like, 'Annie Wilkes did nothing wrong?'" she jokes. "Stephen King's films are so inspiring in that they are really funny even when they're scary."

A major firm like Jacobson Moore employs numerous people to ensure that it gives its clients the best possible chance of winning their case. When Madeline Matlock (Kathy Bates) infiltrated the firm in Matlock Season 1, she was met with a surprise in the name of Shae Banfield (Yael Gobglas). Dubbed the "human lie detector," Shae is capable of detecting lies and deceit from afar. So good was she, in fact, that she nearly exposed Matty's mission. Matlock's showrunner told TV Line that the character will be back in Season 2, even though Matty's secret is out — at least to some people. “[Shae] will definitely be back this season,” Jennie Snyder Urman told the outlet. She also teased an expanded role for the character beyond jury consulting. "The way in which she enters the story will be very surprising….” teased the showrunner.

The Hunting Wives has officially taken over everyone’s watchlist.
With its mix of sultry social drama, small-town secrets, and a murder that sends shockwaves through East Texas, it’s the kind of guilty pleasure that doesn’t even try to be guilty.
But what really makes it pop is the cast — a juicy blend of familiar TV faces, movie vets, and rising stars.
(Lionsgate/Netflix Screenshot)
The biggest surprise for me — outside of the murder, obviously — was what I didn’t find when I went looking for press assets. Nothing. Not a single production still or cast bio on Netflix’s press site. That feels about as “modern Netflix” as it gets.
The Hunting Wives was acquired from Lionsgate following the Starz sale, and like so many shows caught in the streaming swirl of licensing limbo, it got dropped on a random Monday with no real promotion. Just… poof.

Billy Bob Thornton is back in his boots. Paramount+’s Landman has officially returned to production for Season 2, and the first set images from this week’s shoot in Dallas prove that Tommy Norris isn’t hanging up his hat anytime soon. Spotted filming Monday morning in the city’s upscale Knox District, Thornton was seen outside the Michelin-recommended restaurant Mister Charles, flanked by extras and dressed in a denim-blazer combo and signature cowboy hat. Production ran between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., according to notices obtained by The Dallas Morning News, with filming continuing later into the afternoon in Dallas’ Arts District.
Though the shoot wasn’t open to the public, curious pedestrians lined the sidewalk, catching glimpses of the Landman crew, the cast, and the logistical operation that shut down traffic in both directions on Knox Street between Travis and Cole. Flora Street and Crockett Street were also cordoned off nearby.

From the highs of The Last of Us to the lows of Duncan Jones' Warcraft, video game adaptations can often be hit-or-miss, proving much more often a miss in the noughties and a hit in more recent years. One such example of a failed adaptation comes from the 2007 Timothy Olyphant-led Hitman, a conspiracy thriller based on the video game series of the same name. Olyphant plays the titular Hitman, Agent 47, and is joined in the cast by Prison Break alum Robert Knepper and Olga Kurylenko of Thunderbolts* fame.
Considered by many to be one of the worst video game adaptations of all time, Hitman holds a 16% score from critics and a 57% rating from audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, one of the worst scores in The Mandalorian alum Olyphant's stacked career, and his second-worst score of the decade. From the genius Under the Skin to Alex Garland's Ex Machina and the big-budget, Timothée Chalamet-led Dune: Part Two, the 21st century has graced audiences with some of the finest sci-fi movies of all time. However, with the good inevitably comes the bad, with many citing Jon Amiel's 2003 sci-fi disaster The Core as one of the worst, despite a strong cast and an impressive 2003 budget working in its favor.
Loathed for its nonsensical premise and a complete and utter disregard for the science element of science-fiction, The Core received just 39% from critics and an even worse 34% from audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. However, over 20 years later, the film has found unlikely success, thanks in no small part to the ever-present desire for Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank movies. Officially, as of July 14, 2025, The Core is one of the ten most-streamed titles on Tubi in the U.

It’s a “Severance” world. The Apple TV+ series dominated this year’s Emmy nominations with 27 nods, and despite the show’s critical and ratings acclaim, Variety‘s Awards Circuit podcast hosts were still taken aback.
“Huge,” said Variety chief awards editor Clayton Davis. “I don’t think I even thought that much. That is more than ‘Shōgun’ last year.”
Davis was joined by Variety executive editor, TV, Michael Schneider, as well as senior TV features editor Emily Longeretta and senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay for the Awards Circuit Roundtable. Listen below!
The quartet also looked at some of the other big news from this week’s nods, including another Apple TV+ powerhouse, “The Studio,” which led all comedies with 23.

Are we in store for more “Emmy sweepers?”
With more than 25,000 voting members, the Television Academy is made up of 31 peer groups, each representing a specific field of expertise — actors, writers, editors, and so on. Of the many categories, only 15 are voted on by the entire membership. These include outstanding comedy, drama, limited or anthology series, television movie, talk series, variety special (live and pre-recorded), short form, hosted nonfiction series, structured and unstructured reality, reality competition, scripted variety and game show.
Unlike the Oscars, which allow all eligible members to vote in the final round, the Emmys restrict both nomination and winner selection to designated peer groups. That exclusivity shapes the voting landscape — and it explains the rise of a modern phenomenon: the Emmy sweep.
Only once before 2020 had a series ever won all seven major categories: HBO’s “Angels in America” in 2004. Then came the Covid-era stunner: Pop TV’s “Schitt’s Creek,...

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are the Emmys’ “’25 Bonnie and Clyde.” Let’s just hope the power couple stays Drunk in Love even after this year’s competition, where they’re competitors in the outstanding variety special (live) category.
Jay-Z, under his real name Shawn Carter, is among the executive producers nominated for Fox’s “The Apple Music Super Bowl Lix Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar,” which earned four nods total. Beyoncé is up for Netflix’s “Beyoncé Bowl” as executive producer and performer (billed as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter); that Christmas event also landed four nods.
Perhaps Jesse Collins can keep the peace. Not only is Jesse Collins Entertainment once again producing this year’s Emmy telecast, but the company was part of both the Kendrick Lamar halftime show and the Beyoncé event. On Emmy night in the production truck, Collins is likely to face 99 problems — hopefully this isn’t one.

Every year, the Emmys reveal which shows, actors and producers are up for awards, and each year, there are always some worthy candidates who get left behind. This year, there's a lot of stink about Diego Luna not getting a nod in the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series category for his performance as the title character in Star Wars: Andor, definitely one of the most arresting dramas of 2025. Genevieve O’Reilly, who played Mon Mothma, also didn't get a nod.
“These aren’t great moment-to-moment [performances],” showrunner Tony Gilroy told Deadline about his overlooked actors. “These are epic, long-term character studies that they’ve done over 24 episodes. I think the ultimate victory is that these performances will be celebrated and discussed for years to come. I feel confident about that.”

Kathy Bates on Tuesday earned her 13th career Emmy Award nomination for acting — but it was nonetheless a noteworthy one.
That is because the Matlock headliner, at age 77, now stands as the oldest person to vie for Lead Actress in a Drama. Angela Lansbury previously held the record as a 70-year-old contender in 1996, for playing Murder, She Wrote‘s Jessica Fletcher.

The excitement of Emmy nomination morning fades quickly for studios and networks, because the more daunting question is always the same: How do we actually win?
It’s tempting to judge frontrunners based on sheer nomination tallies. If we followed that logic, drama series “Severance” with 27 nods, satirical comedy “The Studio” with a record-breaking 23, and the villainous limited series “The Penguin” with 24 would seem like the ones to beat. But this is the Emmys — nothing is ever that simple.
Looking at the drama categories, the race looks to shape up with Apple TV+’s “Severance” versus HBO Max’s critically acclaimed freshman entry “The Pitt,” which earned a solid 13 nominations.
On Emmy night, winning is rarely about just one factor. It’s about crafting the “winning package,” and both “Severance” and “The Pitt” performed exceptionally well with the Television Academy’s four largest branches: Executives, Actors, Writers, and Editors.

While a substantial amount of the 24 come from the technical and craft categories, the major awards the show is up for includes a top-tier nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
The show's cast received major acclaim as well, with Colin Farrell nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor and Cristin Milioti for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Additionally, Deirdre O'Connell was honored with a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Here's a case for Matlock to solve: will Kathy Bates make Emmys history this year?
In 2009, then-62-year-old Glenn Close became the oldest Best Drama Actress winner to date. It was her second consecutive trophy for Damages, and when she won the year prior at age 61, she overtook the category's previous oldest champion, Sally Field, who was 60 when she prevailed for Brothers & Sisters in 2007.
Bates turned 77 on June 28, which means, should she prevail at the 2025 Emmys on Sept. 14, she'd beat Close's record by 15 years. But as we all know, age is just a number!
"I am deeply grateful to the Television Academy for this honor," said the former Best Actress Oscar winner for 1980s' Misery. "My heartfelt thanks to CBS ... for believing in us every step of the way on this beautiful journey and for being such delightful people to work with. Every day on set is a gift thanks to the dedication,...

It’s a good day to be Cristin Milioti. The actress snagged an Emmy nomination for her work opposite (fellow nominee) Colin Farrell on the HBO Max and DC series The Penguin, which snagged a total of 24 nominations across a wide variety of creative categories. (See the full list of nominations here.) Milioti also is a part of the Black Mirror family, and the Netflix limited series received 10 nominations this morning. Hot on the heels of the reveal, Milioti got on the phone with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss her first Emmy nomination, why she’s been on so many planes as of late and how playing the inimitable force that is Sofia Falcone has influenced what’s next.
How are you feeling?

Matlock star Kathy Bates has just set an Emmy record that has been a long time in the making. The Primetime Emmys are the perfect platform to celebrate the best-in-class for the top programs across network television, and give the stars who make these shows what they are the recognition they deserve.
Bates' gender-flipped legal drama Matlock is a remake of the 1980s show of the same name, and though Matlock has a stellar cast, Bates is truly the star. She has had a long, successful career and has already scooped Primetime Emmys for Two and a Half Men and American Horror Story: Coven, but this nomination is special for a reason.
Per THR, Bates has officially become the oldest nominee for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys, with her nomination for the CBS legal drama coming at the age of 77. She's nominated alongside Sharon Horgan for Bad Sisters,...

On one level, the biggest surprise about Tuesday morning’s Emmy nominations was how unsurprising they were — indeed, my final pre-noms forecast correctly projected, of the eventual nominees for best series, seven of eight dramas, eight of eight comedies and five of five limited/anthology series. But when you put them under a microscope, I think they tell an interesting story about today’s TV landscape.
HBO/HBO Max collected a platforms-leading and company-best 142 noms. Meanwhile, the biggest hauls for individual shows all traced back to Apple TV+ (which had its best year yet with 81 overall noms) and HBO/HBO Max, with the leaderboard topped by Apple’s sophomore drama Severance (27, up from 14 for its prior season), HBO’s limited series The Penguin (24), Apple’s rookie comedy The Studio (23, matching the comedy series record set last year by FX’s The Bear), the third installment of HBO’s drama franchise...

Kathy Bates has become a superstar in the last year thanks to her role in Matlock, the hit legal thriller series streaming on Paramount+, but almost 35 years ago, she starred in a period drama that’s returned to streaming charts. Bates stars alongside Jessica Tandy and Mary Stuart Masterson in Fried Green Tomatoes, the 1991 film following Evelyn (Bates), a housewife who befriends an older woman at a nursing home.Fried Green Tomatoes is currently streaming for free on Tubi in America, and it’s one of the most popular movies on the streamer, sitting at #8 at the time of writing. The film earned scores of 76% from critics and 88% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed an impressive $119 million against an $11 million budget.

It's about that time again, people. The Oscars are over, the BAFTAs are behind us, and the Golden Globes were certainly a thing that happened, so all eyes are now firmly locked on the 2025 Emmy Awards. And this afternoon, Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song took to the stage of the Wolf Theatre in the Saban Media Centre to unveil the nominees for this year's upcoming 77th Emmys. And after what has been a pretty exceptional past twelve months in the world of television, Apple TV+'s Severance finds itself in(nie) pole position. Dan Erickson's water cooler dominating sci-fi series leads the pack so far with a staggering 27 nominations, while HBO's The Penguin and Apple's own The Studio are nipping at its heels with a heady 24 and 23 nods of their own respectively.
Severance heads up a sure-to-be hotly contested Outstanding Drama Series field, where it'll face off against Andor,...
