King of the Hill is an adult animated comedy series, which was more rooted in reality than its contemporaries, such as The Simpsons and Family Guy. Now that Hulu has revived the show with Season 14, it is time to look back on the funniest episodes from the first thirteen seasons.
Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the show aired for over 250 episodes. Set in the fictional city of Arlen, Texas, it revolves around the Hill family. King of the Hill has been praised for its slice-of-life stories about mundane existence with a touch of wry sense of humor.
While some episodes were laugh-out-loud funny, others delivered their humor through subtle satire, awkward silences, and deadpan delivery. Let’s not forget that iconic Matthew McConaughey cameo. Here is a list of the 20 funniest episodes from King of the Hill, ranked from worst to best.

Gary Busey is an actor that has created some fantastic characters on screen, but had plenty of controversial moments away from the camera. In 2022, Busey was accused of sexual assault by women at the annual Monster-Mania fan event. Despite denying the claims at the time, Busey has now pleaded guilty to one of the charges against him, although he still denies other accusations.
Back in 2022, Busey appeared at the convention, which took place at a hotel in Cherry Hill, Philadelphia. Shortly after the event, Monster-Mania's Facebook page shared a statement regarding disturbing details that had been brought to the attention of promoters. That statement did not go into details, but said:
"Monster-Mania is assisting authorities in their investigation into an alleged incident involving attendees and a celebrity guest at its convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey last weekend. Immediately upon receiving a complaint from the attendees, the celebrity guest was...

Gary Busey, 81, has pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact after groping a woman at a horror convention in New Jersey.
Busey admitted to the judge on Zoom that the incident, which occurred in 2022, was not “an accidental touching.”
The groping occurred at the Monster-Mania convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The event ran from August 12-14 in 2022.
In 2023, Busey was filmed in a hit-and-run accident in Malibu, California.
While the Oscar-nominated actor admitted to the allegations on Thursday, he denied them at the time.
“It took less than 10 seconds, and they left. Then they made up a story that I assaulted them sexually,” Busey told TMZ.

Gary Busey admitted he purposely groped a woman’s buttocks while posing with fans at a New Jersey horror convention in 2022, pleading guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual contact on Thursday.
The 81-year-old actor entered the plea during a virtual hearing, admitting he touched the woman for his own gratification. “You understand now, and you knew then that that was not appropriate. It was wrong, correct,” a prosecutor asked Busey. “Yes, very much,” he responded.

Gary Busey has pleaded guilty to groping a woman during a 2022 appearance at Monster-Mania Con in New Jersey.
Initially, Busey was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact (4th degree); one count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact (4th degree); and one count of harassment (disorderly persons offense) after allegedly groping two people. While he initially denied the allegations, TMZ reports that Busey has now admitted that one instance was not accidental and pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. The remaining charges, including those related to the other alleged victim, were dropped.
The 81-year-old actor is facing one to five years of probation and some significant fines; he’ll be sentenced next month during a virtual hearing. TMZ also notes that Busey was scolded by the judge during the hearing for cracking open a beverage while on camera, which, well, sounds about right.

Mel Gibson will always be known for his Oscar-level work in grandiose epics like Braveheart and The Patriot, but almost 40 years ago, he teamed up with Danny Glover for a classic crime thriller that’s stumbled back to streaming success. Gibson and Glover star alongside Gary Busey and Mitchell Ryan in Lethal Weapon, the 1987 action classic following two nearly-paired polar opposite police officers who must put aside their differences to stop a gang of drug smugglers. Lethal Weapon is currently streaming for free on Pluto TV in America, where it’s one of the most popular movies for the streamer, sitting at #8 at the time of writing. The film grossed $120 million against a modest $12 million budget, and it also earned scores of 81% from critics and 86% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Die Hard” is a quintessential action film that redefined the genre across the late ‘80s, ‘90s, and beyond. So, it’s no surprise that every few years, studios try to recapture that 1988 lightning in a bottle—by straight-up ripping it off. Its success is owed to many things: tight writing, smart direction/cinematography, a stacked cast, and a messy but sincere charm. But admirers and imitators alike believe the secret lies in the formula. And what a formula it is. Start with an everyman, maybe a cop, but never a supercop. Drop them into an unwinnable situation against their will.
Give them personal stakes. Let them take out a parade of colorful henchmen one by one before reaching the final boss. Tag on a happy ending, and you’ve got an instant classic. Storytelling buffs might call this The Hero’s Journey. But if you add varied European terrorists, a breathtaking yet contained setting,...

Reader, you have been lied to! Film history is littered with unfairly maligned classics, whether critics were too eager to review the making of rather than the finished product, or they suffered from underwhelming ad campaigns or general disinterest. Let’s revise our takes on some of these films from wrongheaded to the correct opinion.
When director John Badham‘s skydiving thriller “Drop Zone” was released by Paramount Pictures in December 1994, the general perception was that it was a ridiculous and disposable programmer. It did Ok at the box office (opening at number three behind Barry Levinson‘s hot-button drama “Disclosure” and the Tim Allen family hit “The Santa Clause”), but critics had their knives out for the movie’s allegedly indefensible plot holes, and the movie was largely forgotten a few weeks after it opened.

Get ready to revisit one of the most legendary duos in action movie history – without spending a dime. Lethal Weapon, the 1987 buddy-cop classic, and its three sequels that helped redefine the genre and launched a billion imitators, are heading to Pluto TV this July. With its 80% Rotten Tomatoes score, explosive action, and endlessly quotable banter between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, it’s exactly the kind of comfort movie that’s somehow still better than most of what’s in theaters today. And obviously, it still slaps. The movie is the blueprint for how to do a buddy-cop movie.
You know the setup: Two wildly mismatched cops are forced to work together. One’s a loose cannon (Gibson’s Martin Riggs), the other is days from retirement (Glover’s Roger Murtaugh). What could go wrong? Everything, obviously. But in the hands of director Richard Donner and a then-unknown screenwriter named Shane Black,...

Nearly four decades after its explosive debut, Lethal Weapon remains one of the defining films of the action genre. Now, with Warner Bros.’ new 4K Uhd release, Richard Donner’s 1987 classic gets the restoration it has long deserved, reaffirming its place in the pantheon of buddy-cop cinema.
The film that kicked off the enduring franchise stars Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs, a volatile, grief-stricken former Special Forces soldier-turned-lapd detective teetering on the edge of self-destruction. Opposite him is Danny Glover’s Roger Murtaugh, the seasoned, sensible family man counting down the days to retirement. What follows is a masterclass in chemistry, conflict, and camaraderie — a mismatched duo navigating drug cartels, conspiracies, and car chases while redefining the buddy-cop formula.

M3GAN 2.0 writer-director Gerard Johnstone believes his sassy killing machine has staying power.
When the New Zealander made his major studio debut in January 2023 with M3GAN, he channeled his own parental anxiety regarding the emotional dependence that today’s youngest generations have on their devices. In the franchise-launching film that grossed nearly $182 million against $12 million, Cady James (Violet McGraw) lost both her parents in a car accident, prompting her preoccupied roboticist aunt, Gemma Forrester (Allison Williams), to raise her with the help of a prototype android doll named M3GAN. That decision quickly backfires when Cady becomes too reliant on M3GAN. From there, the AI-powered toy proceeds to kill four people (and a dog) in the name of supposedly protecting Cady.

The 1980s may have been the decade of the slasher flick, but fans of vampires and werewolves had plenty to enjoy, too -- the classic creatures were having their biggest moment since the '30s and '40s heyday of Universal monster movies. Although bloodsuckers just about edged it in terms of quality and variety, there was some really good lycanthrope action around, most notably John Landis's "An American Werewolf in London" and Joe Dante's "The Howling." Elsewhere, you had Michael J. Fox's slam-dunking furball in "Teen Wolf;" Neil Jordan's dark take on Little Red Riding Hood in "The Company of Wolves;" and the Wolf Man teaming up with his old Universal buddies again in "The Monster Squad." Somewhat lost in the mix was "Silver Bullet," a creepy and underrated tale from the pen of Stephen King.

This article contains spoilers for "Predator: Killer of Killers."
Ever since 1987, when Arnold Schwarzenegger (playing the paramilitary soldier Dutch) became the first man to defeat the strong, cunning, and superior firepower-wielding Yautja in "Predator," fans and filmmakers alike have been clamoring for a rematch. While it's true that Schwarzenegger has only made a relative handful of sequels — "Conan," "The Terminator," and "The Expendables" are the only franchises where he's appeared in multiple entries — that hasn't stopped the various people behind the "Predator" films to try and bring Dutch back.
When 1990's "Predator 2" was being developed, writers Jim and John Thomas had a fairly novel idea of having Dutch return as a Special Agent leading a clandestine task force to track and capture (or kill) any new Yautja found on Earth. After Arnold passed, the role was rewritten as a shadier government agent, and was played by Gary Busey. The...

It can’t be denied that as far as martial arts movies go, the best ones come from Asia, particularly Hong Kong during their action heyday, which was arguably the 70s, 80s and first half of the ’90s. It’s tough to compete with the likes of the Shaw Brothers and the drunken master known as Jackie Chan. That said, martial arts movies were also making a foothold in the States decades ago, thanks mainly to Bruce Lee-mania following the release of Enter the Dragon. Before that movie, very few actors in Hollywood seemed like they were credible martial artists, except maybe James Coburn, a student of Lee’s, who pulled off some pretty good-looking moves in the otherwise silly Our Man Flint movies. Steve McQueen also had training but didn’t use martial arts on screen. Up to then, though, the most notable uses of martial arts in movies usually revolved around Judo,...

In 1992, the now acclaimed director Roland Emmerich, alongside action superstars Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren, created Universal Soldier. A movie that was maybe under-appreciated in the golden age of action films but nonetheless a highlight in all of their careers. Regardless, financial issues loomed for the studio that created it. This resulted in rights being sold and two mostly horrendous television movies being released on Showtime starring Gary Busey and Burt Reynolds. Seven years later, in 1999, the franchise would attempt its big screen comeback with the legendary Jean Claude Van Damme desperate for a career win on a project no director seemed willing to touch. Would the result be a resurrection of not only the franchise but its leading man’s once unstoppable career? Or one of the final nails in the coffin of both of their big screen futures? This is What Happened to Universal Soldier: The Return.

However, "Into the West" -- a Western drama the "Jurassic Park" director produced for Dreamworks Television and TNT in the mid-2000s -- proves that even star-studded Spielberg ensemble pieces can get lost in the ether.
"Into the West" is an ambitious project, with all six episodes clocking in at almost two hours each and covering a lot of American history. What's more, the series tapped some notable directors to helm the saga, including horse opera veteran Simon Wincer, who directed one of the all-time great Westerns in "Lonesome Dove."

What do you do when you’ve just tanked a hit franchise by turning an R-rated movie world made for adults into wacky kids flick? Who, by the way, were already into it as it was? Well, obviously, you’re going to take that same franchise and turn it into a TV show also intended for family audiences. Then you’re going to air it at night when kids aren’t watching. If you’ve ever wondered what RoboCop would look like as a TV show that kept the aesthetics and even some of the satire but replaced the interior with more of a Power Rangers vibe? Well, we’ve got over sixteen hours of it to talk about. And every one of them is available on Tubi right now. Here’s the story of how they got there. This is What Happened to the RoboCop TV Series.

Penny Marshall's 1988 comedy smash-hit "Big" had a fun, fantastical premise. A 12-year-old boy named Josh (David Moscow) is tired of being treated like a kid, feeling that the world condescends to people of his age group all too often. Despondent, Josh visits a carnival and finds a coin-operated fortune-teller/wish-granting machine called Zoltar. He inserts his money and wishes to be "big," only to awaken the morning after in the body of Tom Hanks, who was 32 at the time. Suddenly 20 years older, Josh flees his panicked mother (Mercedes Ruehl), who doesn't recognize him, and is forced to enter the adult work force to survive. The only person who knows his secret is his best friend Billy (Jared Rushton).
"Big" was a tour de force from everyone involved in its making and went on to be nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Actor (for Hanks) and Best Original Screenplay...

It is a time-honored tradition in Hollywood that at a certain point of a movie star's career, they'll give an interview during which they'll reveal, "What I'd really like to do is direct." If what they'd also like to do is win an Oscar, it's not the worst idea. Established actors Robert Redford, Warren Beatty, Richard Attenborough, Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, and Ron Howard all earned the Academy Award for Best Director, so the allure is there. Whether they've the talent and temperament to call the shots behind the camera is something you can't know until they give it a shot. Unless that person is Gary Busey.
The movie star's desire to direct wasn't so much of a thing in the 1940s and 1950s. If actors had aspirations beyond on-screen renown, they generally wanted to produce. This is what the biggest star of this period, John Wayne, did...

Get ready to bust Dixie! Soon, you’ll be able to bring Riggs and Murtaugh home to meet the family as Warner Bros. is releasing a new crisp ultra-high-def transfer of the 1987 Richard Donner classic Lethal Weapon. Last year, Warner Bros. announced the release of the buddy cop pop culture staple along with other studio titles. The original street date looks to have changed as Blu-ray.com is reporting that the new 4K physical media transfer of Lethal Weapon will now be hitting retailers on April 29. The film catapulted Shane Black as his script for this film was a hot property in Hollywood. The movie stars Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Mitchell Ryan, and Tom Atkins.

The US military has been the focus of some of Hollywood's best movies, from naval aviators in Top Gun to special forces in projects like Delta Force and Executive Decision. One of the US' most prestigious units, the Navy SEALs, has been the focus of a variety of films and TV shows, exploring everything from life in the forces to combat missions. While the former can be interesting, it's the thick of battle that audiences love to see.
Navy SEALs remain one of Hollywood's favorite military units, and for good reason. From the rescue of Captain Phillips to the assassination of Osama bin Laden, they're effectively the face of America's elite heroes. While the movie business takes different angles with its exploration of them, the best ones go hard on the action. Whether it's a true story or a hard-hitting action movie, focusing on these elite soldiers rarely fails to impress.

Sometimes, the past is like a messy bookshelf; no matter how much you try to organize it, the books just don’t fit into the neat little space you want. Meghan Markle, in her podcast series Archetypes, seemed to pull a dusty book off that shelf, tossing aside her Deal or No Deal days as if they were just another chapter of her life she’d rather forget.
Her comments about feeling like a “bimbo” during her time as a briefcase model on the game show sparked an immediate response from none other than Howie Mandel.

As the former host of Deal or No Deal, Mandel didn’t shy when asked about Markle’s remarks. He bluntly admitted that he didn’t even remember her time on the show, despite her being a part of it for a brief period in 2006 and 2007.
Ouch.

Pamela Bach, an actor whose 1985 guest appearance on the David Hasselhoff series Knight Rider led to their rocky 17-year marriage and headline-making contentious split in 2006, died Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 61.
While the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office is still investigating the death, TMZ cites law enforcement sources as saying Bach died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Deadline has not confirmed a cause of death.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff wrote on Facebook today. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period but kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
After the couple’s 1985 meeting on Knight Rider, the two dated and were married four years later. From 1991-2000 she appeared on 14 episodes of Hasselhoff’s series Baywatch, portraying news reporter and later restaurant owner Kaye Morgan.

Into the fifties, a trinity of electric young performers—Montgomery Clift, Marlon Brando and James Dean, in that order—emerged as major players in the movie industry. All students trained in The Actors’ Studio, the trio greatly popularized Method Acting. Not what we have come to know today of going extreme, sometimes wild, lengths for immersing into a role, but truthfully, it means exploring and exteriorizing the inner complexity of the human condition by way of your own personal experience.
This introduced a new type of leading man, who, unlike its precursors—the dashing and suave casanovas of Gary Cooper and Errol Flynn; the dorky and sweet charmers of Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart; or the cynical and unbeatable tough guys of John Wayne and Humphrey Bogart—showcased a deeply nuanced and conflicted emotional spectrum, offering more wounded and vulnerable representations of masculinity on screen. The 1980s werewolf movie Silver Bullet was panned as a complete howler by many critics on its release, but fans of the cult classic werewolf movie starring Gary Busey and Corey Haim from the mind of Stephen King can now stream the movie for free. The horror film from 1985 is now part of Tubi's extensive library of scary movies, although the scares in this one are admittedly few and far between. However, that doesn't mean Silver Buller isn't worth a rewatch.
Other horror titles arriving on Tubi include four Insidious movies, both Grindhouse movies by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, the zombie feature starring Brad Pitt, World War Z, and the "alligators act like sharks" movie, Crawl, among others. However, if you're in for a Stephen King marathon, Tubi also offers adaptations like Children of the Corn, two Carrie movies, the author's directorial effort Maximum Overdrive, and Creepshow 2.

A Predator movie directed by Shane Black, written by him and the director of The Monster Squad. This sounded like the recipe for an awesome sci-fi action horror film, but what Black delivered was one of the least popular films in the Predator franchise, with a third act that was completely different from what was originally written and a variety of bad ideas being filmed as potential endings. Critics were unimpressed. Fans were disappointed. And now, we’re going to dig into what happened to The Predator.

His friend, director Fred Dekker, brought their script for the creature feature The Monster Squad to the screen, creating a film that is now considered to be a cult classic. Timothée Chalamet hosted Saturday Night Live a third time on Saturday, January 25, but this time, he was also the episode’s musical guest. Chalamet is the Oscar-nominated star of the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, and true to form, he performed three songs by the crown prince of folk music. “This is a historic episode, because it’s the first time an actor has also been the musical guest at Saturday Night Live,” Chalamet said in his monologue on Saturday’s show. “And if you’re wondering if that’s true, it’s not. That’s a distinction I share with the great Gary Busey.” Lin-Manuel Miranda reprises Alexander Hamilton Before Chalamet even got on stage, however, Studio 8H featured another big musical star: Lin-Manuel Miranda playing Alexander Hamilton, as he did in his breakout Broadway role. Miranda joined SNL regulars in a cold open about the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.

Timothée Chalamet Covers Three ‘Personal Favorite’ Bob Dylan Deep Tracks in ‘SNL’ Musical Appearance
The Bob Dylan song choices Timothée Chalamet picked for his “Saturday Night Live” musical appearance were… well, completely unknown to most of the viewing audience. The actor’s dip into more obscure choices delighted many Dylanologists who tuned in, even as his picks defied expectations that he would recreate songs he performed as Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” which turned out to be the furthest thing from his mind.
In his opening monolog as host, Chalamet signaled that viewers would be surprised by the choices during his musical segment. “You might not know the Bob Dylan songs I’m performing, but they’re my personal favorites,” he told the audience. “I’m so grateful ‘Saturday Night Live’ is still doing weird stuff like this 50 years in. They’re either really nice for letting me do this or incredibly mean and this is all a big prank.”

It may be Timothée Chalamet’s third time hosting Saturday Night Live, but it’s the two-time Oscar nominee’s first stint as a musical guest.

No Oscar campaign would be complete without a Saturday Night Live hosting gig; this year, Timothée Chalamet is carrying on that tradition. Chalamet, who just scored a Best Actor nomination for playing Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, returned to Studio 8H to host the long-running sketch comedy series for the third time, having previously taken on the duties in 2020 and 2023 (he also made a surprise cameo during Carey Mulligan‘s episode in Season 46).
Unlike his other appearances, Chalamet livened this by doubling as the musical guest, putting him in line with the likes of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and his fellow 2025 Oscar nominee Ariana Grande (Wicked). Here are the best moments from Chalamet’s third hosting gig, from his opening monologue (in which he jokes about constantly losing awards) to the best sketches.

Actor Timothée Chalamet has joined an elite club of actors who have achieved two Oscar nominations before the age of 30. The 29-year-old Chalamet, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in 2024’s A Complete Unknown as well as 2017’s Luca Guadagino film, Call Me By Your Name, is the second actor since James Dean to be nominated twice before turning 30. Per Variety, Dean, who died at the age of 24, was nominated for two Oscars posthumously.
Film journalist and historian Mark Harris noted Chalamet’s achievement on the social media platform, Bluesky. Don’t be too dazzled when host Timothée Chalamet double-dips as his own musical guest on Saturday Night Live later this month. Sure, it’s impressive, but not that unusual — he’ll be the 49th host to pull off the feat. But most of those hosts, from Mick Jagger to Dolly Parton to Charli Xcx, were musicians first who muddled their way through a few comedy sketches. Chalamet is one of the rare SNL hosts to attempt the reverse.
Here are five performers not known primarily for music who nonetheless rocked the house on SNL…

Well, here’s a weird one. When Tomlin showed up in Season Eight for her third hosting gig, the musical guest was Black R&b singer Pervis Hawkins — a Tomlin character in full beard. The songs have been scrubbed from the Peacock episode, and there are no clips on YouTube, presumably because Tomlin performed the character in blackface.

Timothée Chalamet's upcoming return for Saturday Night Live 50 will make his best skit character in the famed show even better. All season long, Lorne Michael and NBC have come up with a fantastic slew of shows to celebrate the project's milestone. SNL 50 has featured hosts and musical guests including Martin Short, Jean Smart, Chappell Roan, and Stevie Nicks. As the season moves forward, it will continue this with a string of more impressive tandems to front the remainder of its celebratory period. Chalamet is part of that upcoming pool of hosts, which is exciting, considering his past appearances.
When he steps into Studio 8H this year, Chalamet will find himself in a familiar setting, having hosted SNL twice before. The first time he fronted the NBC weekly late-night staple was in 2020 for SNL 46, which featured Bruce Springsteen as the musical guest — his fourth time. Chalamet returned in 2023 for SNL 49 with musical guest Boygenius.

A Complete Unknown, the Bob Dylan biopic, has been a resounding success for Searchlight Pictures, and for its leading man, Timothée Chalamet. The actor is set to host Saturday Night Live, and, on top of that, he will be performing as the musical guest – the first time in 30 years a non-professional musician has taken on the dual responsibility.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has been asked to do double duty on SNL’s January 25 episode. This adds him to a list of distinguished performers such as Ray Charles, Britney Spears, The Rolling Stones, and Stevie Wonder. He also joins an even more exclusive list of musical guests/hosts who are not professional musicians, such as Deion Sanders, Gary Busey, and, most recently – 30 years ago – Lily Tomlin. Though it has not been officially confirmed yet, it’s fair to assume Chalamet will be strumming out some Bob Dylan hits during...

As he finds himself in the midst of awards season, Timothée Chalamet will host Saturday Night Live in January during its ongoing 50th season and mark a significant milestone in the history of the renowned late-night sketch comedy show. The past few years have been some of the biggest yet in Chalamet's career, with the star having led the casts of the box office hits Wonka and both Dune movies. Most recently, he was seen in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination.
Now, the official Saturday Night Live X account has revealed the upcoming SNL hosts for this month, as the show returns during the final two weekends of January. While Dave Chappelle has also been announced, most notably, Chalamet is listed as both the host and the musical guest on the episode dated January 25. Check out the announcement below:

It was recently announced that A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet will host the January 25th episode of Saturday Night Live – but he will only be the second-best Bob Dylan impressionist in Studio 8H that night.
Weirdly, Chalamet won’t just be hosting, he will also be the show’s musical guest. While Chalamet isn’t a professional musician, he did do his own singing and guitar-playing in the Dylan biopic, suggesting that he may be performing on SNL as Dylan.
He’ll probably just sing “Like a Rolling Stone” or something, but he could also honor SNL history by belting out some of Dylan’s born-again Christian tunes.
Interestingly enough, Chalamet’s booking shares a number of parallels with an episode from the show’s distant past — and hopefully this one won’t be quite so disastrous.
While it’s not unusual for music stars to pull double-duty as both host and musical guest,...
