HBO Max audiences are answering the call of duty and flocking to the streamer to tune in for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Explosive doesn’t even begin to describe the heaping, overflowing amount of action in the Henry Cavill-led production that largely fictionalizes the real-life Operation Postmaster that Winston Churchill directed during WWII. According to FlixPatrol, the film is clocking in on the platform’s globally sought-after Top 10 list in more than a dozen countries including Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, and Serbia, taking the front-running spot in many of them and turning up the heat on other potential challengers. With an ensemble cast that includes favorites such as Alan Ritchson (Reacher) and Eiza González (Fountain of Youth), paired with the high-octane storyline, it’s easy to understand why the Guy Ritchie-helmed war flick is such a hit.

It may have flopped in theaters, but Jason Statham's stylish 2023 spy thriller Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is enjoying a surprising comeback—this time, for free. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the action-comedy hybrid was all but swallowed by a stacked release calendar in early 2023, when it had the misfortune of opening against John Wick: Chapter 4, Creed III, and Scream VI. Despite a $50 million budget and a globe-trotting premise, the film managed just $48.9 million worldwide, missing the mark and quickly fading from the box office conversation. But now? It's quietly become a streaming hit—and fans are rediscovering what they missed the first time around.
After rolling out across various streaming platforms like Hulu, Peacock, and Starz, Operation Fortune has now made its free streaming debut on Tubi. The result? A groundswell of late-blooming appreciation from Statham and Ritchie fans alike. The film stars Statham as elite spy Orson Fortune,...

Per FlixPatrol, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, which was released in 2023, is, as of Aug. 1, the No. 3 most-streamed movie on Hulu in the U.S. Only The Amateur and Locked, which hold the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, are ahead of Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre was directed by Ritchie, who co-wrote the script for the film with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. The film follows Statham’s character, a special agent/spy named Orson Fortune, as he works to obtain a stolen high-tech item known as “the Handle” before Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant) can take it to auction.
Both Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie made their feature film debuts with 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The movie marked the first theatrical release for both writer-director Ritchie and star Statham, who would later rise to massive success as an action star.

Few films are perfect from beginning to end, and The Princess Bride is one of them. The fantasy adventure film had a heartwarming fairytale romance, a dreamy setting, and a hilarious, endlessly quotable script.
The movie was not a commercial hit when it came out, but it has since turned into a cult classic that still stands today. In an era filled with remakes or reboots, the creative minds behind it and fans alike agreed that the idea was "inconceivable." Director and producer Rob Reiner just addressed the idea of a sequel to The Princess Bride in an interview with Cbr's Grae Drake at the San Diego Comic-Con, and the response was perfect.
The Princess Bride is based on the late William Goldman's novel of the same name. The source material didn't include a sequel, but after the film's success, Goldman has written essays and an epilogue to the story called Buttercup's Baby,...

At 6 feet 4 inches, Liam Neeson is as physically imposing as he is talented. This combination of attributes has helped him build a vast and decorated acting career that started in the late 1970s and features everything from esteemed drama films to high-profile genre fiction and a lengthy late-career pivot to action roles. However, sometimes even Neeson's towering presence has failed to impress.
While promoting 2025's "The Naked Gun," Neeson and his co-star Pamela Anderson sat down with Entertainment Weekly to fact-check some of the claims on their IMDb pages and other websites. One of the assertions that surfaced was that the most embarrassing moment in Neeson's acting career was his audition for "The Princess Bride," where director Rob Reiner was less than impressed to find out how tall Neeson was. Of course, a lot of this had to do with the particular role he was auditioning for -- and as Neeson himself admitted,...

“Dear unholy night, do we need Another Dracula movie”? Folks have been saying this since 1992 when a new(ish) writer couldn’t get anyone to finance his dream project. A project that literally kept him up at night staring longingly at the jugular in his wife’s neck. Well, he found his way when a couple of nice fellows agreed to finance a TV project for him that ballooned into a full-fledged, ocean- and time-spanning epic directed by the dude who made The Godfather. This is the story of the sex-fueled, bloodsucking, weird-as-hell vampire movie that pop culture hasn’t been able to shake off since. This is what happened to Dracula.
While the story of Bram Stoker’s Dracula started in 1897 (and the stories that inspired it long before that) director Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula began during an unfortunate incident making The Godfather Part III. There were a...

Jason Statham fans are rarely short of something to watch. Since the start of this decade, the British skull-cracker has appeared in a total of eight movies, with another, the action-packed thriller Mutiny, now moved to a January 9, 2026, release date. Because of this, and thanks to countless action flicks from before the current decade, Statham movies are almost a constant in the revolving door of streaming platforms.
One of Statham's most recent flicks, a stylish, star-studded project, is the latest in a long line from his filmography to grace our home viewing, officially joining the ranks of Hulu on July 28, 2025. That movie is the slick 2023 effort Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, which sees Statham portray an elite espionage agent who must join forces with an actor to stop a dangerous threat. Henry Golding recently took his name out of consideration as the next James Bond, and now the star has also provided another update on another future project he’s been rumored to star in. One of Golding’s most notable roles came from starring in Snake Eyes, formerly titled Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. The film premiered in 2021 to poor reviews from critics and mediocre reviews from audiences — it earned scores of 35% from the former and 74% from the latter on Rotten Tomatoes.

Three years before The Beekeeper, Jason Statham starred in the equally successful action hit Wrath of Man. Now, the movie is finding success on Hulu after being added to the streamer's library at the start of July.
Per FlixPatrol, a day after being added to Hulu, Wrath of Man has already landed on the streamer's Top 10 Movies list, currently sitting in the No. 9 spot. If the Statham-led action movie wants to climb higher on the chart, it will have to go through several popular features, such as the 1996 sci-fi blockbuster Independence Day, the 2013 crime comedy The Heat, the modern Disney classic Holes, and the Liam Neeson drama film Absolution. Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt appeared on the big screen together for the first and last time in 1994's Interview With the Vampire, a film that still resonates with fans today. Recently, Pitt said he would love to reunite with Cruise if he didn't have to do any of the death-defying stunts that have become a signature for the actor. Leave it to director Joseph Kosinski, who just worked with Pitt on F1: The Movie and previously collaborated with Cruise on Top Gun: Maverick, to find the perfect solution. Should a sequel to F1 happen, he believes it should also be a crossover with Cruise's cult-classic racing film from the '90s.

If there is a movie that perfectly fits the term “beloved,” then The Princess Bride is pretty much it. The 1987 comical fantasy adventure by Rob Reiner has been a favorite movie of multiple generations and also has the honor of being a movie that both audiences and critics completely agreed is one of the best movies of all time. However, attempts to expand the franchise to the stage have been in theatrical development hell for almost 20 years, but have taken their first big step forward with the appointment of two very familiar and successful songwriters.
The Princess Bride stars Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, and an array of comical talent in minor roles, and, of course, Peter Falk and Fred Savage in the wraparound story. Rudyard Kipling first published his novel "The Jungle Book" in 1894, and its sequel, "The Second Jungle Book," the following year. The books followed the adventures of a boy named Mowgli, a five-year-old who becomes lost in the jungles of India and who is taken in and raised by the local wildlife. He is taught the ways of the jungle, mostly by a benevolent panther named Bagheera. He also is given some more raucous advice from a bear named Baloo, and is taught to be wary of the vicious tiger, Shere Khan.
Most schoolchildren have read one or both of Kipling's "Jungle Book" novels, and it has been adapted to film multiple times. Director Zoltan Korda directed a rather fine 1946 Technicolor version, although more popular to today's audiences is the 1967 animated film directed by Wolfgang Reitherman. Saw is a classic horror franchise that tortures audiences just as much as the characters in its films. From the first installment, Jigsaw becomes as frightening as Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, holding a grudge against his victims that he felt took life for granted and aims to teach them a deadly lesson. With 10 movies in the franchise, not all were hits, but that's something Blumhouse is looking to turn around now that the studio is adding Saw to its horror family. According to Variety, the company which made hits like Paranormal Activity, Five Nights at Freddy's, Get Out, M3GAN, and more has acquired the rights to future films, shows, and other properties of the franchise.

Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham's fourth movie together is heading to Hulu. Wrath of Man is set to join the Disney-owned streaming service in July.
Beginning July 1, Wrath of Man will be available to stream on Hulu. Directed by Ritchie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, the 2021 action thriller — a loose remake of the 2004 French film Cash Truck — follows H (Statham), a new cash truck driver in Los Angeles whose thwarting of a robbery leads to his skillset with guns and mysterious past being questioned. Holt McCallany (The Iron Claw), Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice), Josh Hartnett (Trap), Laz Alonso (The Boys), and Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad) are among the actors who round out the movie's ensemble.
Moviegoers were clearly excited to see Ritchie and Statham's first collaboration in over a decade, as Wrath of Man was a major box office hit, grossing $104 million worldwide against a $40 million budget.

It's officially Blumhouse's time to play a game. News broke earlier this month that the production giant was set to acquire the rights to the long-running Saw franchise from Twisted Pictures, ensuring a future for the films and their many inventive traps. Today, that deal is now finalized with Jason Blum's banner reaching an agreement to purchase an ownership stake after negotiating with Oren Koules and Mark Burg's production company since last year. Terms haven't been made public yet, but Lionsgate is also set to keep its slice of the bloody pie, remaining on board as a distributor as it has since the first installment in 2004.
In addition to Blumhouse and Lionsgate, Content Partners, the parent company of Revolution Studios, has also purchased a stake in the existing library of Saw movies. The confirmed involvement of Blumhouse, however, is a massive development for the future of Jigsaw and company.

Reacher and Superman walk into a war zone—and viewers can’t get enough. Last year, Alan Ritchson and Henry Cavill teamed up for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a gritty, guns-blazing World War II thriller that underwhelmed at the box office but is now thriving on streaming, as so many underperformers are wont to do these days. After a quiet theatrical run, the Guy Ritchie-directed film has become a global hit on Prime Video, where it's slowly climbing the charts.
Despite a 68% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences have rallied behind the film, pushing its audience rating up to a whopping 91%—proof that viewers still want their action with a little grit, a little style, and a lot of slow-motion headshots. Written by Ritchie alongside Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel, the movie adapts Damien Lewis’ non-fiction book of the same name. It follows a small, off-the-books...

Brad Pitt’s F1 Film Creating Buzz? Revisit This 1990 Tom Cruise Racing Classic! (Photo Credit – YouTube)
Brad Pitt’s upcoming F1 movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski, is generating buzz for its immersive, Pov-style racing sequences, reminiscent of the latter’s work in Top Gun: Maverick. But 35 years before this, Tom Cruise and original Top Gun director Tony Scott had already taken a similar route. The duo’s 1990 film Days of Thunder brought the adrenaline of NASCAR to the big screen, marking one of Cruise’s last action-heavy roles before he temporarily shifted gears into dramatic territory. This exhilarating actioner not only spotlights high-speed thrills but also takes us back to the early ’90s zeitgeist of racing, making it a must-watch for motorsport enthusiasts.
Days of Thunder Plot: Cole Trickle’s Rise in NASCAR
Days of Thunder became Tom Cruise’s third sports film after All the Right Moves and The Color of Money.

Blumhouse is in talks to acquire the rights to Twisted Pictures’ portion of the “Saw” horror film franchise, according to media reports.
Lionsgate owns 50% of the franchise and will continue to be involved as a partner. The studio has the distributed the films dating back to the release of the first “Saw” in 2004.
James Wan directed the first “Saw” film and co-wrote the script with Leigh Whannell. Should the deal go through, it would restore partial control of the franchise to Wan.
Wan and Whannell’s “Saw” offered a deceptively simple premise of two desperate men chained together in an empty room with little idea of how they got there or how to get out.

Mission: Impossible isn’t just a movie franchise anymore. It’s a full-blown adrenaline machine, powered by Tom Cruise sprinting full-speed into danger like gravity doesn’t apply to him. Whether he’s free-climbing the Burj Khalifa, hanging off a plane mid-takeoff, or literally launching himself off a mountain on a motorcycle, Cruise has turned “doing his own stunts” into a cinematic religion.
This time around, the gang’s back maybe for the last time, for another impossible ride with Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning. Cruise is joined by familiar faces like Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and newcomers who bring new heat to the mission. The film delivers everything you’d expect: high-tech chaos, sleek disguises, and of course, a rogue AI with a God complex. It’s blockbuster popcorn madness.
But let’s not act like the series is flawless. Under all the high-speed chases and face-swapping drama,...

The Twister: Caught in the Storm (1996), directed by Jan de Bont, plunges viewers into the heart of tornado country with an adrenaline-charged mix of disaster spectacle and human drama. As a high-octane thriller, its logline is simple: a veteran storm-chaser (Bill Paxton) and a fearless meteorologist (Helen Hunt) race against spiraling twisters to deploy revolutionary data-gathering probes.
Set against the vast plains of the rural American Midwest during peak tornado season, the film stakes are personal and scientific—lives hang in the balance even as a breakthrough in weather prediction looms.
The director’s eye for scale captures both the sweeping grandeur of swirling skies and the intimate moments of fear etched on characters’ faces. Viewers are invited to witness raw nature in motion while tracking relationships frayed and reforged under extraordinary duress.

Legacy sequels have been coming out more over the past couple of years. Last year saw the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, a follow-up to Tim Burton's 1988 film Beetlejuice. Despite initially being slated for release soon after the first film, it spent years in development, and ultimately took decades to come out. Another 21st century legacy sequel came in the form of Blade Runner 2049, which came out 35 years after the original movie. These movies tend to do well in theaters, as they inspire both new and returning audiences who are interested in the nostalgia of it all.
One of the 21st century's most successful sequels was Top Gun: Maverick. Similarly to Blade Runner 2049, the movie came out over 35 years after Tom Cruise's 1986 original. Even with the delay, the film did tremendously upon its release, making just shy of $1.5 billion. Maverick was also nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture,...

The early aughts launched a wave of horror remakes, but they’re especially known as an era full of American remakes of Japanese horror classics. One such adaptation is Takashi Shimizu‘s 2004 film, The Grudge, based on the Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge, which Shimizu directed in 2002. It’s not often the original director is brought on for the American adaptation, so this is a fascinating film even for just that reason.
In the film, “An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.“
The Grudge stars horror icon Sarah Michelle Gellar, as well as Jason Behr (Roswell) and Clea DuVall (The Faculty). It was a massive hit upon release, raking in a reported $187.3 million on a $10 million budget. It was released when I was a kid,...

The Tribeca Film Fest 2025, presented by Okx, announced its short film lineup today, which includes narrative, animation, documentary shorts as well as music videos. Among them is the world premiere of Kid Cudi’s “Neverland,“ featuring an impressive cast & crew.
The eleven-minute horror-centric music video follows “a 200 year old vampire takes his newly initiated love on her first feed.”
“Neverland” stars performer Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), Kiernan Shipka, Brittany Snow (X), Haley Joel Osment, Cary Elwes (Saw), and Brandon Scott (Descendent). That’s one hell of a lineup and marks the on-screen reunion between Mescudi and Snow, his X co-star.
The X connections don’t stop there, either; “Neverland” is helmed by director Ti West, who co-wrote the script for the music video with Mescudi. As if the horror pedigree isn’t already impressive enough, the music video was produced by Monkeypaw Productions, with Jordan Peele serving as executive producer.

Exclusive: Alberto Guerra has joined Peacock’s upcoming South Florida-set crime drama M.I.A. as a series regular along with Edward James Olmos, Billy Burke and Sônia Braga in guest star roles.
They join previously announced series regulars Shannon Gisela, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Maurice Compte, Danay Garcia, Cary Elwes, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans.
From Ozark creator Bill Dubuque, Running drugs is a family affair for Etta Tiger Jonze (Gisela) in M.I.A. But when the family business is threatened, she is thrust into a life she never expected, forcing her to use her wits to survive as she navigates Miami’s criminal underground.
Mia is the airport code for Miami. The SoFla area consists of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.
The series comes from studio MRC (Poker Face), with Karen Campbell serving as executive producer and showrunner. Alethea Jones will direct and executive produce. Dubuque will write Episode 101 and executive produce alongside Campbell and Jones, who will also direct.

Narcos was co-created by Brancato. Showtime’s original Dexter series was also famously set in Miami, and its Paramount+ with Showtime prequel spinoff series, Dexter: Original Sin.
Guerra is repped by UTA, Artists First, and Coloürs.
Olmos is repped by Untitled Entertainment and CAA.
Burke is repped by Ellen Meyer Management and Gersh Agency.
Braga is repped by Bond Artist Management, Untitled Entertainment, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
