‘The View’ Fans Blast Show Over ‘Stale’ Summer Episodes
Image
The View might be the number one daytime talk show on television, but some viewers are growing tired of the summer reruns, blasting them as ‘stale.’ Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and the rest of The View staff are currently on summer break, with new episodes set to return in September. In the meantime, the long-running show is airing old episodes. However, some fans think rerunning past episodes doesn’t work when The View is such a topical show. Taking to The View Reddit forum, one user asked, “Should The View Even Air Repeats?” “The View is a very topical show. Viewers tune in to The View to see what the hosts will say about whatever everybody else is talking about,” the poster continued, noting that while “the hosts and production crew need time off,” other topical shows “would never air repeats weeks or months later.

‘General Hospital’ Improves Among Key Demos, ‘The Young And The Restless’ Dominates – Ratings
Image
During the week of July 21-25, 2025, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” continued to see year-over-year improvement among the key sales demographics used to sell ads for daytime television and Total Viewers, despite minor declines compared to its performance one week earlier among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54.

Up +105,000 viewers week-to-week and +96,000 year-over-year, the long-running drama series attracted its largest audience in four weeks with 3.075 million viewers tuning in, while marking the largest gain across daytime broadcast compared to the same week last year. Meanwhile, among Women 18-49, although the soap’s 0.26 rating was down -0.04 week-to-week, the soap was up +0.01 year-over-year. Among Women 25-54, the series was down -0.02 (0.43 rating vs. 0.45 rating) week-to-week, which was flat with the comparable week last year.

Averaging 1.556 million viewers, “Beyond the Gates” also attracted its largest audience in four weeks, with the new soap also up +493,000 from the year ago performance of “The Talk,...

The View’s Fate Revealed Amid Talk Show Shakeup
Image
The View is currently on a summer hiatus. However, viewers aren’t sure if it will return again. CBS’s abrupt cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has talk shows on edge.

Did ABC Cancel The View?

Viewers were looking forward to catching up with the news on The View while they were on summer vacation. But the daytime talk show is on a break. As of Monday, July 28, the show started airing previously aired episodes and will continue to do so for the next few weeks.

The ladies concluded Season 28 on Thursday, July 24, with a special message to viewers. Co-host Joy Behar started things off by saying, “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” She wasn’t sure what to say, as networks are being carefully watched during this time.

The 14 Worst Supergroups, Cast Ensembles and Collaborations of All Time

You may think it’s cute, but NFL players only shuffle like that when they’re distressed.

Meghan Markle’s Netflix Deal: Her Financial Struggle if She Loses Her $100 Million Deal
Image
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s multi-year deal with Netflix will expire this fall, and it looks like it won’t be getting renewed. The couple had signed a $100 million contract with the streaming giant in 2020. As per The Sun‘s report, “There is no animosity from either side. Things have just run their course.”

As the contract nears its end, the ‘Suits’ star is reportedly grasping at straws, trying to find the next project that will be perfect for her. According to an insider who confided in Rob Shutter (via Substack), Markle is “Terrified of fading into irrelevance.”

To add to it, Markle would even accept a seat at the table over at ‘The View,’ the insider claims. In their words, “At this point, she’d take a hot topics seat next to Whoopi Goldberg if they let her.” The source continues that Markle is in desperate need of...

When Does ‘The View’ Return With New Episodes?
Image
The View‘s summer hiatus is now fully in effect. Starting this week, on Monday (July 28), the hit ABC daytime talk show is airing encore episodes, and it will continue to do so for the next few weeks. The news came as a bit of a shock to some, when cohost Joy Behar accidentally announced the ending of Season 28 on Thursday (July 24), saying, “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” Then Whoopi Goldberg made a more formal announcement about it in the video clip above, saying, “Okay, so here’s what’s going on. We will see you all tomorrow for another new show, and we’ll be back for our new season in September. But of course, you can watch us the rest of the summer with our encore episodes, the best of the season.” Considering...

2 British Comedy Legends Starred in This Riotous 2001 Sleeper Hit Coming to Streaming Next Month
Image
If you’ve ever wanted to watch Mr. Bean, a Monty Python legend, Seth Green, Whoopi Goldberg, and Smash Mouth all crash headfirst into a live-action cartoon – Rat Race should be right up your alley. And starting August 1, Jerry Zucker’s 2001 chaos-fueled ensemble comedy is making its way to Paramount+, where a new generation of streamers can marvel at the fact that this movie even exists. Loosely inspired by 1963’s It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Rat Race opens with eccentric billionaire Donald Sinclair, played with unhinged glee by John Cleese, inviting a group of unsuspecting tourists at a Las Vegas casino to compete in a secret race. The rules are simple: There’s $2 million in a locker 700 miles away in Silver City, New Mexico. Whoever gets there first, keeps it. And as if that weren’t absurd enough, Sinclair’s fellow billionaires are gambling on the outcome.

FCC Chairman Bashes ‘The View,’ Suggests Show Could Have ‘Issues’
Image
FCC chairman Brendan Carr defended President Trump against fresh barbs from “The View” on Thursday and hinted it is “entirely possible” the long-running ABC show has some “issues” worth looking into.

Carr made the comment after being asked on Fox News if “The View” was now in his “crosshairs.” He was also shown a clip from Wednesday’s episode in which co-host Joy Behar said President Trump was “so jealous” of President Obama being “trim,” “smart,” “happily married” and able to croon Al Green tunes. The FCC chairman clearly did not agree with Behar.

“Look, it’s entirely possible that there’s issues over there. But again, stepping back [to view] this broader dynamic, once President Trump has exposed these media gatekeepers and smashed this facade, there’s a lot of consequences. I think the consequences of it aren’t quite finished,” Carr said.

He continued: “‘The View’s’ got a lot of challenges there.

White House Calls ‘The View’s’ Joy Behar an “Irrelevant Loser” After She Says Trump’s “Jealous of Obama”
Image
President Donald Trump’s administration isn’t just taking aim at late night hosts, as they’ve now turned their attention to daytime programming.

The White House had some strong words to say about The View co-host Joy Behar after she said Trump was “so jealous” of former President Barack Obama.

Behar’s comments were made during Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s daytime talk show, when the panel — consisting of Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin — was discussing Trump’s recent attack on his predecessor. During an earlier press conference, in an attempt to distract from questions about the Jeffrey Epstein files, Trump accused Obama of “treason” and his administration of trying to “steal” the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.

In response, Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush called Trump’s claims “outrageous,” “bizarre” and a “weak attempt at distraction.”

On The View, Behar also had some thoughts.

White House Attacks ‘The View’ After Joy Behar Says Trump Is Jealous of Obama: ‘Joy Is an Irrelevant Loser’ Who Should ‘Self-Reflect’ Before ‘Her Show Is the Next to Be Pulled Off Air’
Image
A spokesperson for President Trump’s White House is attacking ABC’s “The View” after Joy Behar claimed on the July 23 episode that Trump is “jealous” of former President Barack Obama. It all started the day prior, when Trump alleged that Obama was “trying to lead a coup” in the past and accused Obama of “treason.”

“First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6. Who was that again? That was not Obama,” Behar fired back at Trump in response (via EW). “The thing about him is he’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not: Trim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green. And Trump cannot stand it. It’s driving him crazy.”

White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers clapped back at Behar and “The View” in a statement to Variety that...

‘The View’: Whoopi’s Jaw Drops in Shock Learning About Millennials’ Emo Aim Away Messages
Image
Whoopi Goldberg grew up in a time long before social media of any form existed, so naturally, she never a big user of Aim, Facebook or the like. So, upon learning just how overdramatic things got on those platforms from millennial co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, her jaw literally dropped in shock.

As part of the “The View’s” Hot Topics on Wednesday, the women discussed how Gen Z has started keeping relationship details off social media, in part because of learning from the generation above them. Of course, host Sara Haines was quick to point out that sharing personal matters online was less of a discovery by Gen Z than a return to norm, as millennials largely started that trend.

Farah Griffin agreed, cringing as she remembered how she would dread having to change her relationship status on Facebook after a breakup more than the breakup itself.

“And we did our really,...

‘The View’ Cohosts on Why Trump Is ‘Jealous’ of Obama: ‘Very High School’
Image
For the first “Hot Topic” of Wednesday’s (July 23) edition of The View, the cohosts dug into the latest Donald Trump scandal. The latest story? When asked if he supports the Justice Department’s move to potentially interview Ghislaine Maxwell, accomplice to convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, amid the continued backlash over the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files, Trump changed the subject. Instead, he encouraged reporters to focus on former President Barack Obama, whom he accused of “sedacious” (likely meaning “seditious”) actions around the 2016 presidential election. After reviewing footage of Trump’s comments, along with reading out Obama’s rare statement condemning the allegations, the cohosts dug into the meat of the matter. “A sitting president just accused a former president of treason. Now, do people realize how serious an allegation this is?” Whoopi Goldberg asked, to start. “And for me, didn’t the Supreme Court under the guise of this president,...

‘The View’: Whoopi Withholds True Thoughts on Colbert Cancellation – For Now – But Offers a ‘We Got Your Back’
Image
The hosts of “The View” are among the many upset over CBS canceling “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” but on Tuesday morning, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was reticent about her true feelings on the matter. For now, anyways.

The ABC host discussed the cancellation to kick off the day’s Hot Topics, and for the most part, they agreed that while economics may have been a factor in ending the show, as CBS and Paramount insist was the sole decision-maker, “you cannot deny” that politics were also at play.

Host Joy Behar once again argued that comedians are imperative to a democracy, and should be allowed to say what they want, while Sunny Hostin picked apart the specific financials. But, when it came time for Goldberg’s input, she spoke simply.

“Colbert, we’re supporting you,” she said. “We got your back. I’m going to wait and see what — where it shakes it out.

‘The View’: Whoopi Goldberg Reveals Trump’s ‘Biggest Mistake’ in Trying to Distract From Epstein
Image
On the second “Hot Topic” of the day for Tuesday’s (July 22) live new episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg dug into what she called a “media blitz” by Donald Trump, following last week’s major and sustained backlash against his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. “You Know Who’s administration has been on an all-out media blitz after suing the Wall Street Journal for a story about his alleged past with Jeffrey Epstein. He posted a fake AI video of former President Obama getting arrested after accusing him of treason. Yeah, that’s funny. What’s the other one? Oh, yeah. He released the files on Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination, even after the family said, ‘Please don’t do that.’ And then he even demanded that the Washington Commanders change their name back to their old name. Now, a lot ...

Whoopi Goldberg Emotionally Remembers Malcolm-Jamal Warner: “He Was A Really Great Kid”
Image
Whoopi Goldberg paid tribute to her old friend Malcolm-Jamal Warner during a solemn moment on The View today.

Initially reading a prepared statement, Goldberg paused and sighed before moving into a more personal tribute.

Watch the segment below.

“We were devastated to hear that Malcolm-Jamal Warner drowned while vacationing in Costa Rica,” Goldberg began. “He was just 54 years old. He first became a pop culture icon as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show. And generations of Americans are feeling this loss because he was like everybody’s brother.”

Here, an emotional Goldberg took a deep breath. “He was really a great kid. I knew him well, I mean, it just…You know, the person who [broke the news to her] sent me a note that said, this is why what you did on Friday matters, and that is something that I will impart to you all. ‘The View’: Joy Behar Reveals Trump Nickname She’s Not Allowed to Say On-Air
Image
The cohosts of The View started Tuesday’s (July 22) edition with a lively discussion of the latest news surrounding the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that revealed a nickname cohost Joy Behar is supposedly censored from saying. Most recently, Stephen Colbert reacted to Donald Trump‘s insistence that he “absolutely love[s]” CBS’s decision to cancel the late-night show on Monday night’s episode and had a few contemporaries in the crowd showing their support for him, including Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver, Jon Stewart, and Seth Meyers. After reviewing footage of Colbert’s message to Trump, along with Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show segment on the matter in which he called his own parent network’s decision an act born of “fear and pre-compliance.” When asked by moderator Whoopi Goldberg whether the cohosts agreed with Stewart’s analysis of the situation, Alyssa Farah...

Jennifer Lopez Is Developing a Cinderella Musical Series With a Magical Twist for Disney+

Over the years, Cinderella has had many adaptations. The folk story of a young girl living in unfortunate circumstances and blessed with a life-changing decision after marrying has been around for centuries, although it's mostly famous thanks to the Disney adaptation.

Cinderella was adapted into opera, theater, musicals, films, and TV. Walt Disney entered the conversation in 1950, giving the character, who is now considered one of the Disney Princesses, her first adaptation. Jennifer Lopez has been interested in a new version of the story for years, and she is now partnering with Disney+ for a new version, Deadline reports.

Lopez has been attached to the limited series based on Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella since May 2022. The singer and actress' production company, Nuyorican Productions, was working with Skydance Television and Concord Originals. ‘The View’ Hosts Delight in the Dumbness of Coldplay Jumbotron Affair | Video
Image
The hosts of “The View” were certainly as delighted by the unexpected cheating scandal exposed at a Coldplay concert last week as most of the internet, but admittedly, the women felt guilty about it. Still, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was floored by how “dumb” the couple really was.

In case you missed it, here’s the short version: while at a Coldplay concert last week, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was spotted embracing a woman from behind on the jumbotron. That woman turned out to be Kristin Cabot, his company’s head of Hr. Both are married to other people.

What followed was a weekend of memes and ridicule, and at Coldplay’s next show, lead singer Chris Martin gave ample warning to the crowd so it didn’t happen again. Discussing it on Monday, the hosts of “The View” largely agreed with most social media users, arguing that it was the...

‘The View’ Cohosts React to Coldplay Concert CEO Kiss Cam Incident: Like ‘Porn’

The View cohosts started their week off much like the rest of the world: laughing about the Coldplay concert kiss cam incident. At the top of the hour on Monday’s (July 21) show, the cohosts reviewed the mega-viral footage of then-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and human resources chief Kristin Cabot being captured on the band’s “kiss cam” reel on the jumbotron, in which they were first seen embracing and then scurrying away from the camera in obvious embarrassment. They also reviewed some of the follow-ups to the incident, which resulted in Byron resigning from his position, including Coldplay’s own subsequent warning to concert-goers that they were about to begin their audience-centric footage. “I’ve got so many questions. Where did he think he was going? What was that about? That seems like you don’t really care who’s at the concert because people from your job could have been there,...

Whoopi Goldberg Blasts Barack Obama & Mark Cuban For Saying Democrats Need To ‘Stop Whining’ About Trump
Image
Whoopi Goldberg slammed former President Barack Obama and billionaire Mark Cuban for their comments about Democratic voters during a recent episode of The View.

Obama, who recently called for Democrats to “toughen up” and “stop whining,” was heavily criticized by Goldberg, who pointed the blame back at Obama and other Democratic politicians.

“Let me remind everybody who was out on the front lines marching, when we had the giant marches that went on. It was the people. The people went out,” Goldberg said.

“This has not been about Democrats laying back,” but rather “about y’all,” Goldberg said of Democratic politicians.

Golberg then turned her attention from the comments made by Obama to the comments by Cuban.

During a virtual speech, Cuban said that taking offense to everything Trump does is not how political contests are won.

“It’s just not, because it’s not about Trump, it’s about...

Atrabilious Review: Down a Dizzying Rabbit Hole
Image
Grief is a disorienting country with no reliable map. In Atrabilious, we meet Steven Joyner, a man completely lost within its borders after the death of his son. He navigates the motions of therapy, but his sorrow is a persistent fog.

Then, a cryptic invitation from a stranger offers a different path, leading him away from the sterile quiet of a therapist’s office and into the pulsing, neon-lit veins of a New York City underworld. He finds himself at a sinister bar, the film’s namesake, which offers a peculiar service: “cocktail bereavement coordination.”

It’s a place that promises a chemical cure for a spiritual ailment. From the first frame, the film plunges you into its enigmatic atmosphere, blurring the line between what is real and what is a symptom of sorrow, pulling you deep into Steven’s fractured state of mind.

Comedians Should Stop Saying ‘I Didn’t Write That Joke’ When They Bomb
Image
No one is saying that it’s easy to be a crowd-pleasing comic. Finding that line can be brutal. Taking no risks makes you boring, taking too many will have you in the internet’s crosshairs. That’s not really a career ender these days, but it’s still not enjoyable.

Shane Gillis is someone who steps into controversy relatively often; he got fired from Saturday Night Live in 2019 for making racist and sexist jokes, and his vein of humor can sometimes be edgelord adjacent. I’m sure if more people watched Tires on Netflix, they’d be angry about it.

Gillis is still popular — he’s got the Netflix show, he’s a semi-regular host of SNL despite his firing, and this week he was the host of the ESPYs. His performance, both to the room of highly lauded athletes up for awards and the nation, caused a few dustups.

“Captain Planet and the Planeteers,” an animated TBS series from the ’90s about an environmentalist superhero, is being adapted into a live-action series at Netflix with Greg Berlanti and Leonardo DiCaprio as executive producers.

Netflix declined to comment on the adaptation, though Variety has confirmed the news with sources.

Tara Hernandez, best known for creating “Mrs. Davis” on Peacock and writing on “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon,” is writing the “Captain Planet” series. Leonardo DiCaprio and Netflix Are Bringing a Beloved Superhero Back to Life After Almost Thirty Years
Image
By your powers combined, Captain Planet is back. The iconic animated eco-hero of the 1990s is going to take pollution down to zero in live-action in a new Netflix TV series. The streamer won the rights to the project at a competitive auction. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions is working on the series: no surprise, given the star's notable commitments to environmental causes. Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions is partnering with them, adding yet another property to their list of superheroic projects.

Deadline reports that Glen Powell will is not currently involved in the project: the Anyone But You star had been attempting to get a live-action Captain Planet project off the ground for years. However, Jono Matt, who was co-writing the project with Powell, is listed as a producer on the new series. The series will be spearheaded by Tara Hernandez, a veteran of The Big Bang Theory...

‘The View’ Host Joy Behar Shames Shane Gillis for Blaming Failed ESPYs Joke on Writers: ‘That’s Bad Form’
Image
Comedian Shane Gillis was met with mixed reactions from the crowd as he hosted the ESPYs on Wednesday night, though he did make one move that “The View” host and former stand-up comedian Joy Behar didn’t appreciate.

Early on in his monologue, Gillis made a joke about Donald Trump’s desire to host a UFC fight at the White House, with the punchline being “the last time he staged a fight in D.C., Mike Pence almost died.” When the joke fell flat but got some scattered applause, Gillis told the crowd, “you don’t have to do that. It was fine, I didn’t write it.”

And that shade toward his writers irked Behar pretty good.

“Never do that,” she said on Thursday’s episode of the ABC talk show. “Johnny Carson was on the air for, I don’t know, a 100 years? Never once did he say,...

‘The View’: Joy Behar Details Why Trump’s Epstein Reaction Is ‘Dumb’
Image
Donald Trump‘s continued struggles to quash the conversations about Jeffrey Epstein and his administration’s handling of the so-called “Epstein Files” was once again the first “Hot Topic” of the day on Thursday’s (July 17) edition of The View. This time, the cohosts reacted to Trump’s most recent claim that the Epstein case is a “hoax … perpetrated by the Democrats and some stupid Republicans,” along with the firing of Maureen Comey, the daughter of James Comey and prosecutor in the cases against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in their child sex trafficking ring. “So suddenly, now, this is our fault?” Whoopi Goldberg asked, incredulously. “This is the Democrats’ fault? It’s very, very freaky, but a lot of his supporters are still convinced there is a cover-up happening. How are they going to feel about being called dumb?” “I don’t think they like it,” Joy Behar said in response.

Star Trek’s Kate Mulgrew on Hillary Clinton Inviting Her to the White House:”She could think of no one better than I”
Image
Star Trek: Voyager’s Kate Mulgrew said that she initially felt a bit out of place when she was invited by Hillary Clinton to talk about women in Stem fields. Mulgrew played Captain Kathryn Janeway in the show, creating history as the first female captain to lead a Star Trek series, and inspired countless women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Mulgrew recounted an incident while on a panel discussion with her Voyager co-star Robert Picardo, where she was invited to the White House by Hillary Clinton, who was the First Lady at the time. She mentioned that she was asked to give a speech to the best of women researchers who attended the event and were looking at her for guidance (via The Planetary Society).

She’d called a group an international group of young scientists whom she thought were particularly promising, and she could think...

‘The View’: Joy Behar Says Ghislaine Maxwell ‘Better Be Careful’ Amid Trump-Epstein Fallout
Image
For the third consecutive day this week, the first “Hot Topic” of the day on Wednesday’s (July 16) new edition of The View was the continued backlash Donald Trump and his administration are receiving over their handling of the Jeffrey Epstein “files.” This time, the cohosts reviewed footage of mega-podcaster Joe Rogan, who endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, expressing his dismay over the administration’s claim there is no “list” of high-profile child sex trafficking clients and Trump’s own insistence that his followers should just let the story go. Whoopi Goldberg began the discussion by dragging Trump’s recent claim that the Epstein files were created as a “hoax” by Barack Obama and Joe Biden, saying, “All you have to do is look at anything from the time, and you’ll see who was president.” She was referring, of course, to the fact that Epstein was arrested by the...

New Emmy Nominee Shawn Hatosy Reflects On His Biggest Career Roles, Says His ‘The Pitt’ Character “Was Easy To Fall In Love With”
Image
Throughout his career, newly minted Emmy nominee Shawn Hatosy has consistently injected heart and humanity into complex, often perplexing characters who thrive in the gray area.

From starring as a serial killer on Dexter to a troubled police officer in Southland and Chicago P.D. and, most famously, the mentally unstable and violent family man in Animal Kingdom, Hatosy looks for specific qualities in a character before taking on the role.

“I enjoy characters that have a lot of layers,” The Pitt actor shared with Deadline on Tuesday while celebrating his first Emmy nom for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series on the acclaimed HBO Max medical drama.

“I think even when you’re portraying a character who may be perceived as the bad guy, such as Pope [on Animal Kingdom], it is important to identify the quality within him that is real” he continued. “He doesn’t set out...

‘The View’: Whoopi Angrily Shouts ‘Damn You!’ to Anyone Saying Trump Voters Don’t Deserve Emergency Relief
Image
As Texas continues to recover after historic flooding earlier this month, Whoopi Goldberg had a blunt message for anyone arguing that victims don’t deserve disaster relief if they voted for Donald Trump: “Damn you!”

As the ABC hosts discussed recovery efforts during the day’s Hot Topics, Goldberg pointed out that some online are arguing that any Texans who voted for Trump — he won the state by 14 percentage points in 2024, though the state is heavily gerrymandered — deserve to suffer, as a result of the president’s cuts to staff and funding for key emergency organizations.

“Let me tell you, let’s be really clear,” Goldberg started, as her cohosts expressed shock. “Yeah! Yeah. And it’s unbelievable, but it’s happening. And so I just want to be really clear; you know, you can’t blame anybody for these floods. It’s nobody’s fault!”

“I didn’t do it,...

Why Is Joy Behar Absent From ‘The View’?
Image
Joy Behar was not present for Tuesday’s (July 15) edition of The View, and some fans may be wondering why. At the start of the show, moderator Whoopi Goldberg announced that her long-time cohost was not present for the day’s show, saying, “So Joy is out today, possibly be back tomorrow. But who can say? Who can say?” In response, executive producer Brian Teta shouted that she would be back, and Goldberg said, “Brian can say, but if she’s not, she’ll be back the day after, because she’ll be back.” Neither Goldberg nor Teta explained the reason for Behar’s absence from the live show. However, it may have had something to do with the start of the summer series of performances of her off-Broadway comedy show My First Ex-Husband, which began on July 14 and runs until July 19. Behar is performing in the nightly show alongside...

Bella Ramsey Makes Emmys History As First Openly Non-Binary Actor To Be Nominated More Than Once With Another ‘The Last Of Us’ Nom
Image
Bella Ramsey received their second Emmy nomination Tuesday morning, making history as the first non-binary performer to earn more than one nom from the Television Academy.

Ramsey is one of five nominees in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for their performance as Ellie in Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us. They also were nominated for the same role at the 75th Emmy Awards in 2023.

The Last of Us scored 16 nominations for the upcoming 77th Emmy Awards, bringing the series’ total to 40 across two seasons. The series won eight golden statuettes in 2024.

There have been few openly non-binary and transgender performers to be nominated at the Emmy Awards. In 2023, Yellowjackets star Liv Hewson declined to submit for the acting categories at the Emmys because the categories are separated to recognize male and female actors separately.

‘The View’ Cohosts Say Trump Can’t Stop Epstein Fallout
Image
The View cohosts kept talking about the Jeffrey Epstein case on Tuesday’s (July 15) episode, even if certain other talk shows took Donald Trump‘s cues to stop doing so. This time, the cohosts reacted to the about-face certain Maga-aligned celebrities and Republican officials have had, after Donald Trump issued a lengthy post calling for the subject to be dropped, and they concluded that the story isn’t going away even if he wants it to. Whoopi Goldberg opened the subject by saying, “It looks like some conservators are getting behind You Know Who’s push to stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein. Yesterday, congressional Republicans blocked the release of documents related to the Epstein case, and some leading conservative pundits the tune on demanding answers from the government.” She then reviewed footage of people like Laura Inagraham and Charlie Kirk issuing contradictory takes on the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein “files,...

‘The View’ Host Whoopi Goldberg Makes Bold Declaration About Trump & Epstein: ‘I Don’t Believe There Is a List’
Image
The cohosts of The View kicked off Monday’s (July 14) newest live edition of the show by talking about the backlash Donald Trump and his administration are receiving over their report on the files and so-called “list” associated with convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Whoopi Goldberg, in particular, had a very bold take on the entire matter. To summarize the lead-up, the Maga faithful have been reeling about the Trump team’s handling of the case — which has reportedly resulted in infighting between senior administration officials, including the attorney general and FBI director — and several high-profile Trump supporters aired their frustrations over the weekend at a conservative gathering. The “Hot Topics” segment started with the cohosts reviewing footage of people like Fox News’ Laura Ingraham expressing her discontent over the administration’s latest update about the case, with the Justice Department announcing there is no “list” of Epstein clients to release,...

Sam Haskell Jr. Dies By Suicide While Awaiting Hearing On Murder Charges
Image
Sam Haskell Jr., the son of a prominent television producer, died by suicide just days before his preliminary hearing to determine whether he should stand trial for allegedly dismembering his wife and killing her parents, according to TMZ.

Haskell was in prison at the time of his death. Last year, he pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder in a Los Angeles court. He was accused in the 2023 murders of his wife Mei Li Haskell and her parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wang. He allegedly dismembered their bodies, placed them in garbage bags, and hired day laborers to take the bags to a dump site.

Haskell’s father was Sam Haskell Sr., founder and president of Magnolia Hill Productions, which produced various TV specials starring Dolly Parton and others featuring The Waltons. Before that, Haskell Sr. spent time at William Morris, where he rose to Worldwide Head of Television before retiring.

The View’s Conservative Co-Host Alyssa Farah Griffin Reveals She Cries Backstage For Having An ‘Opinion That’s Different’
Image
The View‘s only conservative co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, revealed that she has cried backstage “at least a half dozen times.”

On a recent episode of the show, Sunny Hostin said that she’d never felt the luxury to cry at work, to which Griffin responded that she does cry backstage, but hides it.

“I have cried at this job at least a half a dozen times, are you kidding? Have you done this job?” Griffin said.

Griffin and her cohosts regularly clash on the show over varying political opinions, especially on topics relating to Donald Trump and the 2024 presidential election. She said, “This is a very hard job to do,” and that it’s difficult to “have the only opinion that’s different at a table of five people.”

Griffin recently described Trump’s decorating style as “somewhere between Pablo Escobar and Liberace. He loves the gold tchotchke.”

During the election,...

‘Ghost’ at 35: How Jerry Zucker pivoted from ‘Airplane!’ and ‘Naked Gun’ spoof comedy to an unlikely Best Picture nominee
Image
At first glance, Jerry Zucker wouldn't seem like the kind of filmmaker to have a ghost of a chance at crafting a Best Picture-nominated film. But that unlikely event came to pass 35 years ago when the codirector of spoof comedies like Airplane! and The Naked Gun made the supernatural romance Ghost. Released on July 13, 1990, the film went on to become the year's biggest domestic box-office hit and a surprise Oscar powerhouse.

Zucker rose to Hollywood fame as a member of the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker trio that included brother David Zucker and their friend, the late Jim Abrahams. Together, they wrote The Kentucky Fried Movie before helming seminal comedies Airplane! and Top Secret!.

Hot on the heels of their 1986 non-spoof comedy hit Ruthless People, the team locked down a two-year deal with Paramount Pictures. That deal launched with a bang thanks to The Naked Gun, based on their short-lived TV series, Police Squad.

‘The View’: Ana Navarro Says She Plans to Confront Marco Rubio About His ‘Complicit Silence’ With Trump | Video
Image
Ana Navarro was once an avid supporter and friend of now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio. But these days, the host of “The View” is pretty disgusted with the man — and she plans to let him know about it directly.

Granted, if he watches the ABC talk show, Rubio already knows, as Navarro has been a vocal critic of his actions within the Trump administration. On Friday, she once again called him out during a discussion on Trump’s Florida detention center built to detain undocumented migrants (regardless of if they have a criminal history or not).

Navarro was quick to remind viewers that Rubio’s own grandfather was an immigrant, who came to the U.S. illegally. She also promised to confront the politician directly.

“I’m going to speak to Marco, because I’ve supported him. He was my friend for so many years,” she said. “Damn it, he...

Dean Cain Says James Gunn Made A “Mistake” Calling Superman An “Immigrant”: “How Woke Is Hollywood Going To Make This Character?”
Image
Dean Cain has a problem with DC Studios co-head and Superman director James Gunn calling the superhero an immigrant.

The Maga supporter and Donald Trump fan said the superhero film might be too “woke” and turn away moviegoers.

“What cracks me up is that people don’t like Superman — he was traditionally called the Big Blue Boy Scout. And Superman’s inherent weakness is his goodness,” Cain said in an interview with TMZ. “I mean, sorry, those are great values, in my opinion, and I root for that.”

Cain was responding to an interview Gunn gave to The Times U.K., where he said, “Superman is the story of America. An immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”

Gunn’s comments triggered conservative media and...
