(1966) TV commercial (US): Volkswagen. Mr. Hoffman demonstrated the features of the VW Fastback, one notably being a trunk where he assumed the engine would be.

Song: Composed "Shooting the Breeze", sung by Sting on Michael Aspel TV show (UK). Played piano on the show for the Sting performance.

Stage: Starred in "Jimmy Shine", Brooks Atkinson Theatre, opened on December 5, 1968 after 20 previews and closed on April 26, 1969 after 161 total performances. He won the Drama Desk award for Outstanding Performance. During performances, his female fans would pelt him with roses.

Stage: Appeared (as "Ridzinski") in "A Cook for Mr. General" on Broadway, Playhouse Theatre, October 19, 1961-November 11, 1961 for 28 total performances.

Stage: Appeared (as "Willy Loman") in a revival of "Death of a Salesman" on Broadway, 1984. The production won a Tony for Best Reproduction. However, his performance was looked down upon by critics and was snubbed by the Tony committee, even though he won a Drama Desk award. In 1985 he reprised this role for TV (Death of a Salesman (1985)) and got his revenge on the theater world by winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for his performance.
