Los Angeles police have linked a June break-in at Brad Pitt’s Los Feliz home to a wider series of burglaries targeting prominent residents and have arrested four teenagers they say were part of an organized crew. Investigators said the suspects, ages 16 to 18, were taken into custody after a surveillance operation and that items believed to be stolen were recovered. Police described the group as affiliated with a street gang that monitored public schedules and social media to time entries when homes were empty.

The incident occurred on June 25 around 10:30 p.m. on the 2300 block of North Edgemont Street. At least three masked individuals were seen scaling a fence before shattering a window and ransacking rooms. Pitt was out of the country promoting his racing drama at the time.

Authorities said the arrests were made late last week in South Los Angeles, part of a broader investigation into residential burglaries affecting affluent neighborhoods.

Brad Pitt is among the celebrities affected, and his home, located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz, was broken into on June 26. The actor was not home at the time of the robbery when he was on a promotional tour for his movie F1: The Movie, which was released on June 27.

“Per command Staff at Northeast Area, four suspects have been arrested in connection to a burglary that occurred on the 2300 block of N. Edgemont Drive,” Officer Drake Madison said in a statement.

Harris Dickinson’s feature directorial debut, Urchin, has found a home on this year’s release calendar following its success at the Cannes Film Festival.

The movie is set to hit theaters Oct. 10 from 1-2 Special, the indie distributor that launched earlier this year. Dickinson’s film stars Frank Dillane, Megan Northam, Amr Waked, Shonagh Marie and Karyna Khymchuk.

Urchin centers on Dillane as Mike, an unhoused London-based addict who attempts to turn his life around after a stint in prison.

Dickinson helmed the film from his own script. Archie Pearch and Scott O’Donnell serve as producers.

AMC Theatres moviegoers have been complaining recently about lengthy pre-shows and now CEO Adam Aron has promised to have them shortened.

The pre-shows before movies, which include trailers, ads, and AMC-produced videos, have been noticeably longer in 2025 and there’s a reason.

AMC cut a deal with theatrical advertising company National CineMedia to begin running their ads starting in July 2025. The ads run for five minutes beginning at the listed showtime, followed by a one-minute ad that plays before the last two trailers. Pre-shows have been running for 30 minutes, and sometimes more, for summer movies.

“We were forgoing tens of millions of dollars that our competitors were taking,” Aron told investors about why they cut a deal with Ncm.

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron provided some further details in an earnings call on Monday about his company’s plans to reduce the length of the ad and trailer-stuffed pre-show his customers see before their movie by “four or five minutes.”

In recent months, AMC customers have been notified on the theater chain’s online ticketing service that they should expect that the movie will start 25-30 minutes after the listed showtime. It came after AMC reached a deal with theatrical advertising company National CineMedia (Ncm) to run their ads starting in July.

Aron told investors and financial analysts that his company decided to make a deal with Ncm following the historically poor box office during the first quarter of 2025. Given that Ncm has similar ad deals with other major chains like Cinemark and Regal, Aron said it was “irresponsible” for AMC to not follow suit.

However, the sisters are soon forced to use their powers to fight off a curse that threatens their bloodline.

Gus Van Sant will be celebrated by the Venice Film Festival with its Campari Passion for Film Award.

Van Sant is a key figure of American indie cinema from the 1980s onwards, whose body of work includes “Drugstore Cowboy,” “My Own Private Idaho,” the Columbine shooting-inspired “Elephant,” Nicole Kidman’s “To Die For,” Oscar winner “Milk” and “Good Will Hunting,” which launched Ben Affleck and Matt Damon into stardom.

Van Sant will be on the Lido with hostage thriller “Dead Man’s Wire,” starring Bill Skarsgård, Colman Domingo, Dacre Montgomery and Al Pacino, which is screening at Venice out of competition. He will receive the prize on Sept. 2 before the gala screening of “Dead Man’s Wire.”
