Back in 2016, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, one thing was clear, Gal Gadot was Wonder Woman. With just a few scenes, the Israeli actress stole the show from two of the biggest comic book titans. Clad in Amazonian armor and wielding that iconic lasso, Gadot brought strength, grace, and a dash of mystery to the big screen in a way fans hadn’t quite seen before.
Her take on Diana Prince became a defining moment not just for the Dceu but also for superhero cinema. And let’s not forget, this wasn’t her first rodeo. Fast & Furious fans had already seen her pull off high-octane stunts with effortless cool. But here’s the kicker in this little throwback tale: before Gadot suited up and took the invisible jet for a spin, the coveted role of Wonder Woman...

Ben Affleck On Drinking Struggles Amid Marriage To Jennifer Garner (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Ben Affleck opened up during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show (via People), admitting that if he hadn’t split from Jennifer Garner, he likely would still be struggling with alcohol. The actor, who shares three children with Garner—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel—revealed how trapped and overwhelmed he felt in their marriage. “We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats,” he said. “I’d probably still be drinking.” Affleck explained that his drinking wasn’t just about partying—it began because he felt stuck, burdened by parental responsibilities and unhappiness in the relationship.

Everyone knows the story of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's lifelong friendship; how they broke into Hollywood together by writing and starring in "Good Will Hunting," winning an Oscar and establishing themselves as two of the most significant forces in the industry for decades to come. That's the short version, anyway. The slightly longer version begins with the boys growing up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they lived just two blocks apart and attended the same school. After high school, Damon enrolled in Harvard, where he wrote the beginnings of "Good Will Hunting" before dropping out and traveling to live with his buddy, Affleck, out in Los Angeles.
During that pre-"Good Will Hunting" period, both actors found work in multiple projects, with Damon appearing in a forgotten 1994 Western that marked Tommy Lee Jones' directorial debut and Affleck landing a role in the Danielle Steel TV movie adaptation, "Daddy.

There was a period when Jeremy Renner was on a winning streak. After landing a role in Kathryn Bigelow's award-winning war drama, "The Hurt Locker," he was appearing everywhere. Besides following it up with an impressive performance in the Ben Affleck-directed heist movie, "The Town," he then started switching between spy stories and superhero outings in three of the biggest franchises at that time.
After joining the Imf alongside Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and drawing back his bow with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in "The Avengers," Renner dared to try and pick up the slack left by Matt Damon's amnesiac assassin, Jason Bourne, in the spin-off espionage thriller "The Bourne Legacy." While it received a lukewarm reception at the time and a so-so success at the box office, it feels that, even riding off of the "The Avengers," Renner's run in the Bourne-verse stands...

A seventh “Final Destination” movie is in the works at New Line with “Bloodlines” co-writer Lori Evans Taylor returning to pen the new installment.

By the end of its theatrical run, it became the franchise’s highest-grossing film, with a $286 million global haul. New Line has no intention of trying to stop death. In fact, it’s inviting even more.
The Warner Bros. division is moving forward with a follow-up to its horror hit Final Destination: Bloodlines, hiring that movie’s co-writer, Lori Evans Taylor, to pen the next installment.
The hiring comes after Bloodlines, released in May, grossed over $286 million at the worldwide box office, $138.1 million of that domestically. That movie was the sixth installment of the horror franchise and the first one since 2011.
It was by far the most successful outing of the movie series, with its domestic total more than double the next movie down, 2009’s The Final Destination.
Taylor was a key player on the script, which was co-written with Guy Busick (Ready or Not) from a story by Taylor, Busick, and Jon Watts, the Spider-Man: Homecoming director who was creatively involved with Bloodlines. Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directed the film.

There’s no denying that Breaking Bad dominates the television scene. Vince Gilligan’s story about a chemistry teacher becoming a meth kingpin is the stuff of TV legend. But let’s pump the brakes for a second.
Before Breaking Bad even existed, The Sopranos had already redefined what television could be. David Chase’s mob saga wasn’t just ahead of its time; it helped create the golden age of TV as we know it. And in more than a few ways, it edges past the Bryan Cranston-led show.
Yes, both shows explore crime, power, and moral collapse, but The Sopranos brings a level of psychological depth and dark humor that hits differently. Even celebrities like Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal prefer The Sopranos over Breaking Bad because of this. It’s not just about plot twists or intense standoffs. From globe-trotting action to an epic musical, here’s what to stream.
Prime Video has been on a serious roll lately, especially when it comes to action comedies, and I am so here for it. It’s one of my favorite genres, and Prime Video has been dropping a steady stream of big, funny, explosion-filled movies (including the latest one starring Eddie Murphy!). It honestly feels like they’re using these as warm-ups before the next “James Bond” movie — which Amazon now fully controls — and if that’s the case, keep practicing so as not to mess with one of the best franchises of all time. Between these newer titles, some underrated sequels, and a few all-time crowd-pleasers, I went back through everything and pulled the seven best movies streaming on Prime Video right now. Whether you’re into treasure hunts, buddy comedies, or full-blown musical magic, here’s where I’d start.

The first trailer for NBC’s spinoff from “The Office,” “The Paper,” shows Domnhall Gleeson’s character Ned Sampson struggling to patch together a failing Midwest newspaper.
“Have you read this paper? How do you think it compares to any other paper?” Chelse Frei says as her character.
“It sucks,” Ned says without hesitation. “But we are going to make it better.”
The newsroom, which is the latest subject to be covered by the same film crew that documented the staffers at Dunder Mifflin Paper Co., is filled with nothing but lazy workers and untrained journalists whose highest level of skill is shown through a report about how much Ben Affleck tipped his driver. Let’s just say, Ned, the writer’s new editor-in-chief, has got his work printed out for him.
“My name is Ned Sampson, I am your new editor-in-chief,” Sampson tells the newsroom on his first day.

A show about Elvis as a secret agent from "Archer" writer Mike Arnold and singer-screenwriter John Eddie sounds wild enough to become a hit — or, at the least, a cult favorite. Sadly, "Agent Elvis" wasn't given long enough to become either, as Netflix canceled the zany enterprise after its first season. That is, the streamer axed the animated series several months after season 1 was made available, which might seem odd, but 2023 was a tumultuous year that claimed many a show too soon.
The cancellation of "Agent Elvis" was perhaps one of the biggest disappointments, if only because the show had so much promise and hype prior to its debut. The series' trailer promised an outlandish romp featuring Matthew McConaughey as a secret agent version of The King, while early footage from "Agent Elvis" similarly teased a stylish animated show that /Film's Rafael Motamayor described as "striking," noting that "Elvis has never looked better.

While I don’t have the exact number, I am pretty sure there is a large chunk of people out there who are missing out on how fun solving daily puzzles is, especially something like Actorle, where you get to test your Hollywood knowledge while keeping the frontal lobe of your brain sharp.
The world of Actorle.com features four different puzzles, one of which goes by the same name, and the other three are Fill The Grid, Storyboard, and StarWords. All four of them give the players different clues to solve and challenges to overcome before they figure out the solution for the day. Following are all the answers I was able to figure out for August 7’s puzzles.

Prime Video, and by extension, Amazon MGM Studios, have been able to curate the perfect blend when it comes to delivering on action movies. Earlier in the summer, the streamer released Heads of State on July 2, starring Idris Elba and John Cena in the lead roles, with even Prime Video alum and The Boys star Jack Quaid making a memorable appearance.. Since its debut, the film has drawn in more than 75 million viewers worldwide, establishing it as the fourth most-watched Amazon MGM Studios’ film of all time on Prime Video, according to a new report.
The performance of Heads of State continues a strong viewership performance for the streamer in recent times, with other movies such as Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ Christmas action comedy Red Onedrawing in 50 million views within days of its release and The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, which garnered 80 million views within its first month.

After the Bennifer love story came to a disastrous end last year, Jennifer Lopez appears to have taken a stand on marriage in the future. The actress and singer is currently on her Up All Night tour, during which she recently revealed her plans to get hitched to someone after Ben Affleck.

She replied to the fan, “I think I’m done with that. I’ve tried that a few times.” So, after four unsuccessful marriages, Lopez has apparently found that long-term committed relationships aren’t her cup of tea. And fans seem...

Joel Edgerton’s Train Dreams premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival to widespread critical acclaim — the film earned a 97% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event, we are thrilled to partner with Netflix to preview a new image of Edgerton in Train Dreams, and we also had the chance to ask director Clint Bentleya few questions about the film. Bentley also wrote the script with his long-time collaborator Greg Kwedar.
Train Dreams is Bentley's first movie since Sing Sing, which he wrote the script for while Kwedar directed. When asked what Bentley took away from working on Sing Sing that he brought to Train Dreams, he spoke about bringing the “real world” into a film and allowing a movie to “evolve to accommodate the surprises of life.”

There are certain movies that over the years have become film industry shorthand for box office fiascos: "Heaven's Gate," "Ishtar," "Waterworld," "Cutthroat Island," and so forth. But in truth, I have no idea why "Waterworld" keeps getting name-checked as a massive bomb, seeing as it eventually broke even and inspired a massively popular stunt show at Universal Studios Hollywood. Also irksome: The worst of these movies, "Cutthroat Island," is at least packed with jaw-droppingly elaborate spectacle, while "Heaven's Gate" and "Ishtar" are genuinely great movies from two of the most talented directors of their era (Michael Cimino and Elaine May).
I've long held that a film's box office is of little concern to the general public. Once upon a time, if you were interested in the movie business, you had to shell out for a pricey subscription to Variety or The Hollywood Reporter. Then "Entertainment Tonight" debuted in 1981, and suddenly...

Matt Damon’s next big role is in Christopher Nolan’s epic, The Odyssey, but many haven’t forgotten the underwhelming performance in 2021’s The Last Duel with Ben Affleck. Long before Matt Damon headlined The Bourne Identity or joined Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, he was a hungry young actor chasing a breakout role. One of those golden-ticket chances arrived in the form of Primal Fear, a twisty courtroom thriller directed by Gregory Hoblit. The 1996 movie went on to earn over $102 million (via Box Office Mojo) and launched Edward Norton into stardom.
Damon, who had already endured a few near misses, was gunning hard for the lead role. He even spent money he didn’t have on training. But rejection came knocking again, and it turned out to be a weird blessing in disguise.

Superheroes like Batman originate in comic books, where the only limits on their costumes are what the artist can imagine. A comic's pencillers, inkers, and colorists control everything, from the costume's contours to the way the lighting of a panel brings out its colors -- and all they need is pens and paper.
Costume designers in superhero movies have the same task but deal with hurdles artists never do. "Batman" comics always depict the hero with white eyelids on his mask, while the movies leave Batman's eyes exposed so the actor can properly emote in the mask. You've also got to account for comfort, which means making the Batman mask's eyeholes big enough that some skin around the eyeholes is exposed. John Gulager's 2005 goopy horror/comedy flick "Feast" was the resulting film wrought by season three of "Project Greenlight." For those unfamiliar with "Project Greenlight," it was a documentary series on HBO (previously on Bravo in 2005) overseen by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Each season, the two stars would host a screenwriting competition, seeking the best scripts they could find from amateur or unproven authors. The winner would then see their script made into a feature film. Sometimes the writer would direct their own film, sometimes a first-time filmmaker would be paired with the screenplay. "Project Greenlight" then followed the filmmaking process, from casting through final editing, detailing the way a low-budget film is made. The finished movies each got limited theatrical runs.
The idea behind "Project Greenlight" was to offer aspiring filmmakers their "big break," adding new voices to the filmmaking community. It's a neat idea, although the films...

Welcome to The B-Side! Here we talk about movie directors! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between.
Today we discuss John Frankenheimer, a true expert of the craft and a man who could make any kind of film. Our B-Sides today include Prophecy, 52 Pick-Up, Dead Bang, and the HBO Film Against the Wall (for which Frankenheimer won an Emmy!)
Our guest today is the great Blake Howard of One Heat Minute Productions. He’s just wrapping up his podcast series Romin, in which Blake discusses Frankenheimer’s late-period action masterpiece (and certified A-Side) Ronin with incredible film minds (and also two schlubs from The Film Stage). In this episode, I tell a fairly interesting first-hand story about original Ronin screenwriter J.D. Zeik!

Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie may not have had a public falling-out, but there has been noticeable tension between the two actresses, and it appears to trace back to a single controversial comment made by Paltrow in 2014. That year, Paltrow sparked backlash after claiming in an E! Online interview that being an actress was “much harder” than a traditional 9-to-5 job, especially while raising kids. She explained,
I think it’s different when you have an office job, because it’s routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as,...

Ben Affleck jumped back into action earlier this year with his acclaimed, high-octane new sequel, The Accountant 2, pairing him up with Jon Bernthal for a bigger and badder adventure for Christian Wolff. Next month, though, Hulu subscribers will be able to look back on one of the actor's best films that earned Best Picture honors at the Academy Awards for its story of a CIA agent posing as a film producer in an attempt to rescue six Americans. Released in 2012, the smash hit also paired him up with an ensemble packed with massive stars, from Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston to Bosch's Titus Welliver. The historical political spy thriller Argo is one of several new films coming to the Disney-owned streaming service starting on August 1.

Matt Damon is one of the most bankable stars and highest-grossing actors of all time. He rose to stardom in 1997 with Good Will Hunting, a film he co-wrote and starred in alongside his lifelong friend Ben Affleck. Their work earned them an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, while Damon was also nominated for Best Actor, launching him into Hollywood's firmament.
From there, Damon quickly became a leading man with standout roles in The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Jason Bourne series, and Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy. He earned additional Oscar nominations for Invictus and The Martian. He's also starred in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, Martin Scorsese's The Departed, and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, the last of which is Damon's highest-grossing film to date at $975 million.
Despite his many successes, Damon's filmography is not without misfires. Green Zone, Promised Land, Downsizing, Suburbicon, and The Last Duel...

Back in December 2001, Winona Ryder was charged with shoplifting clothes worth $5,500 from a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Beverly Hills, California. A year later, she was found guilty of grand theft and shoplifting, and was given three years of probation plus a fine and community service. Regardless, there was one man who seemed hopeful that things would get back on track for her, simply because of the fact that she is a wonderful woman: Matt Damon.
Damon and Ryder were in a relationship for two years before they went their separate ways in 2000. Despite the breakup, Damon had no ill feelings towards his former lover, and he even spoke in her support during an interview with Playboy.
About the shoplifting scandal, Damon stated,
When she was being pilloried in the press, to me it was like, ‘This too shall pass’. That somehow her true colors would come out and she...

Gwyneth Paltrow may not have been a part of the Og Mean Girls, but recent revelations about her reportedly hating on not only Matt Damon but even multiple of his ex-girlfriends are certainly portraying her as one. This goes back to the time when she was still romantically involved with her co-star from Shakespeare in Love and Damon’s longtime best friend, Ben Affleck.
In the recently released stunner book Gwyneth: The Biography, which was published on July 29, writer Amy Odell had a lot of things to say about the actress, including how she used to be close friends with Winona Ryder once. In fact, they were such good friends that Paltrow even moved into her house looking for consolation after her breakup with Brad Pitt in 1997. Ryder was, at the time, dating Damon, after being introduced to him by Affleck and Paltrow themselves.
However, things turned sour for the girly duo when,...
