It doesn’t get much more Hollywood than this: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s star-packed Hollywood satire The Studio for Apple TV+ is basking in the golden glow of awards season thanks to the Television Academy, which just handed over 23 nominations for the 77th Emmy Awards, tying the record for most comedy nominations in a single season and emerging as the show to beat over favorites like Hacks and The Bear.
“I don’t think anything good is ever going to happen, so it’s nice when it does,” quips Rogen by telephone hours after nominations were revealed last month. It’s a statement that would effortlessly roll out of the mouth of the man he plays on the show, frequently beleaguered studio boss Matt Remick who is trying to maintain his perch and build a legacy in an IP-dominated industry. Kool-Aid man aside, the show featured a who’s who of Hollywood stars,...

Macaulay Culkin has revealed which Home Alone film is better out of the two films he acted in the franchise. While many of the viewers may side with the original film of 1990, Culkin actually loved the second film, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. He had a valid, straightforward reason to find the sequel a better film, and it was not the cameo from Donald Trump.
During his appearance on Hot Ones recently, Culkin shared that he “got paid more” for the second film. He further explained that he made a good fortune from the deal he made for the film. He shared, “I think I own five percent of the net. I also [get] 15 percent of the merchandising. So, if you buy a Talkboy, I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ll take a percent of that. Thank you very much.’”
Culkin saw a huge jump in his paycheck from the first film to its sequel.

“Home Alone” favorite Macaulay Culkin appeared on the latest episode of “Hot Ones” and got asked to pick his favorite movie in which he played Kevin McCallister. Does Culkin prefer the 1990 original “Home Alone” or its 1992 sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”? It turns out the answer is not too complicated for the former child star.
Culkin did not hesitate to answer “Home Alone” 2 and quipped: “I got paid more. I think I own five percent of the net. And also 15 perfect of the merchandising. So, if you buy a Talkboy I’m like yeah, I’ll take 15 percent of that. Thank you very much. By the way, buy a Talkboy this Christmas.”
Both “Home Alone” movies are considered classics and were box office hits. The franchise remains near and dear to Culkin’s heart, not only because of its success but also due to the relationships he...

Viewers often debate which Home Alone movie was the better artistic achievement. The domestic-based original, a fun house full of traps, or the big city, blockbuster vibes of New York City. For the movie's star, though, the sequel comes out on top. Why? It's quite easy.
“I got paid more,” said Macaulay Culkin, with a smirk, when asked why he prefers Home Alone 2: Lost in New York to the original. During a recent interview, Culkin didn’t hesitate in explaining just how big a deal the sequel was, bigger than many people even realized: “I think I own five percent of the net. ‘Awards Magnet’: Why ‘The Studio’ has the edge over ‘Hacks’ for Best Comedy Series at the 2025 Emmys
The Awards Magnet team has reconvened to analyze all of the comedy categories at the 2025 Emmys.
Senior editors Marcus James Dixon, Denton Davidson, and Mia McNiece agree that The Studio is the frontrunner in the Best Comedy Series race. After all, the Apple TV+ program is about Hollywood, and it set a new record for a first-year comedy with 23 total nominations, including four alone for Seth Rogen — series, lead actor, director, and writer — and he could potentially sweep all four.
Performers from The Studio over-performed in the nominations phase, with a whopping 10 of them receiving mentions. That number includes five guest stars who all portray themselves, plus Bryan Cranston, whose fictional performance steals the show. All of that bodes well for The Studio's chances up in the Best Comedy Series contest, considering that the Acting Branch is the largest within the Television Academy.

The pilot episode of “The Studio” has perhaps its greatest cameo by a real-life Hollywood personality — none other than the auteur filmmaker himself, Martin Scorsese. In the extended guest appearance, the director is brought on to be the director for a “Kool-Aid” movie… although his version (a supposed passion project for the man behind “Raging Bull”) will actually be the story of Jim Jones’ notorious Jonestown massacre. He ends up getting fired, which offends Scorsese and every other major star in town, and at the end of the episode Seth Rogen and Ike Barinholtz’s studio mogul characters get kicked out of an exclusive Charlize Theron-hosted party.
Throwing Scorsese into a role that requires him to poke fun at his own persona, though, was a gamble — at least emotionally — for Rogen, who also co-wrote and co-directed the episode.

With a big variety of series, dozens of first-time nominees and a few shows breaking back into the race, the 77th annual Emmy Awards are set to make history — possibly in more ways than one. Below, Variety breaks down the contenders in some of the main categories.
Drama series
Arguably, the most stacked race of all this year is the drama category. Although “Severance,” “The Last of Us,” “Slow Horses” and “Andor” have landed nominations in the category before, none of this year’s noms have taken home the trophy in the past. “Severance” is an early front-runner but it’s not without its huge competitors in the debuts this year. “Paradise” on Hulu racked up four nominations for its freshman year on Hulu, and “The Diplomat” caused quite a splash with its second season on Netflix, but HBO Max’s “The Pitt” (with 13 noms) remains the biggest competitor against the Apple TV+ leader.

As final-round Emmy voting approaches, Apple TV+’s The Studio has emerged as a serious contender, after tying the all-time nomination record for a comedy series with 23 nominations and becoming the most-nominated freshman comedy in Emmy history.
The workplace satire’s success could mark several historic milestones, particularly for Dominican-American producer Frida Perez, who stands on the cusp of making Emmy history.
If “The Studio” wins outstanding comedy series, Perez would become the first Latina to take home a trophy in that category and only the second Latino ever to win as a producer in any top series race in Emmy history. Currently, only Cuban American Celia D. Costas holds that honor for HBO’s “Angels in America” in 2004.
Perez, 29, has already made history as the first Latina nominated for outstanding writing in a comedy series for the pilot episode “The Promotion,” which she shares with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg,...

Seth Rogen is the odds-on favorite to win so many Emmys for The Studio, he'll need to bring a mantelpiece as his plus-one.
According to Gold Derby's predictions for the 2025 Emmys, Rogen is out front to win Best Comedy Series (for which he's a producer), Best Comedy Actor, and Best Comedy Directing (for "The Oner"). Plus, he's the runner-up in Best Comedy Writing (for "The Promotion"), behind only the Hacks showrunning trio of Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky (for "A Slippery Slope").
Should Rogen win all four, he'd be the only person in Emmy history to win those specific trophies in the same year. In 2020, Daniel Levy won three of the four for Schitt's Creek, but his acting award was for supporting, not lead. Here's what Rogen tells Gold Derby about potentially making history:

The last time we saw the grotesque gremlins wreak havoc on the big screen was in the 1990 sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, where the tiny monsters overtook the Big Apple. And now, it appears a third installment to the beloved Gremlins movie franchise may be on the horizon, according to the film's original star, Zach Galligan, who shared the news with fans at Comic Con Manchester.
"After 35 years, they've come up with a script. Warner Bros. is incredibly interested in doing it," he told the Manchester crowd (via Comicmoviedb). However, Galligan revealed that they're waiting for a famous director to approve the script: the one and only Steven Spielberg, who has worked on several '80s classics, such as The Goonies, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (just to name a few).
Why may they be waiting for Spielberg's approval, you may ask?...

Jurassic World Rebirth Beats Beetlejuice Beetlejuice At The US Box Office, Crosses $300M Milestone ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Jurassic World Rebirth crossed major box office milestones as it nears a month in theaters worldwide. Universal had pushed the project into pre-production even before selecting a director, determined to maintain tighter creative control after Jurassic World Dominion, which drew poor reviews despite passing $1 billion globally.
The decision now appears to have paid off, as Rebirth continues to climb, recently overtaking a Tim Burton blockbuster at the domestic box office.
Jurassic World Rebirth Surpasses Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
The film has earned over $300 million domestically (per Box Office Mojo), moving past the $294 million lifetime domestic total of Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. That movie had been a surprise hit, collecting more than $450 million worldwide and becoming Burton’s biggest success since Alice in Wonderland ($1B) in 2010.

Universal's Jurassic World Rebirthpassed a couple of major box office milestones this weekend, as it prepares to complete a month of release in theaters worldwide. The seventh installment of the iconic action-adventure franchise has justified the studio's decision to put it in pre-production even before hiring a director to helm it. Universal wanted to retain as much creative control as it could, deviating from its position on Jurassic World Dominion, which earned poor reviews and was viewed as a box office disappointment even though it grossed over $1 billion worldwide. As it aims to cross the coveted milestone itself, Rebirth overtook a recent Tim Burton blockbuster at the domestic box office.

Legendary filmmaker Tim Burton and Beetlejuice Beetlejuicestar Jenna Ortega talk about another potential sequel.

Luca Guadagnino's upcoming feature about the whirlwind rise of artificial intelligence just made an exciting addition. The film follows the real-life drama behind the firing of Sam Altman at OpenAI, as well as the tumultuous and dangerous state of the AI industry. The Challengers director has put together another impressive cast that will surely do the material justice, which grows increasingly relevant with each passing day.
Ike Barinholtz (The Studio) has been cast as Elon Musk in Guadagnino's Artificial, joining the likes of Andrew Garfield, Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), and Yura Borisov (Anora). As previously reported, Musk's role in the script for the film serves primarily as comedic relief, so Barinholtz's casting, especially after his fantastic performance in The Studio, seems like a perfectly inspired choice by Guadagnino. It’s a “Severance” world. The Apple TV+ series dominated this year’s Emmy nominations with 27 nods, and despite the show’s critical and ratings acclaim, Variety‘s Awards Circuit podcast hosts were still taken aback.

When it comes to predicting the Emmys, there is one group of bellwether categories worth paying close attention to. Over the past decade, a notable trend has emerged: the winners for Best Drama Series and Best Drama Casting have mirrored each other seven times; Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Casting eight times; and Best Limited Series and Best Limited/Movie Casting nine times. That's a combined accuracy rate of 80 percent over the most recent 10-year period.
With that in mind, our gaze is fixed on the three casting races for the 2025 Emmys, where The Pitt, The Studio, and Adolescence are already making compelling cases as the early front-runners.

The 2025 Emmy nominations are out and generating a lot of conversations about who's on the list, who was snubbed, and who will be taking home the coveted trophies. A lot of TV shows from the sci-fi and fantasy genres made the cut, including Severance, The Penguin, Andor, and HBO's zombie drama The Last of Us.
When season 2 premiered in April, the one thing devoted fans of both the video game and television show dreaded the most occurred: Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) killed Joel (Pedro Pascal). One of the most controversial moments in video game history came to life, and in the second episode of the season no less, leaving Ellie (Bella Ramsey) to carry the rest of the season as her quest for revenge against Abby began.
Ratings for the second season fell compared to the first, but The Last of Us still managed to get an impressive 17 Emmy nominations, including...

Schitt’s Creek is a heartfelt, satirical, and comedic drama that has everyone in hysterics. The show captivated the audience with its heart-warming story for six seasons, turning reality TV-esque chaos into an Emmy-winning success. It follows the story of the Rose family, who, after losing their fortune, settle in a remote town named Schitt’s Creek, somewhere in Canada. The lives of the four prominent characters, Johnny, Moira, David, and Alexis Rose, turn out to be one rollercoaster ride.
The family makes living adjustments, and what follows is a story that unfolds over six seasons. The series finale, titled “Happy Ending,” revolved around David Rose’s wedding to Patrick Brewer, a joyous occasion that turns bonkers, in true Schitt’s Creek fashion. Aired on April 7, 2020, the show delivered a satisfying and emotional conclusion, wrapping up the individual journeys of each beloved character while also stating the impact that the show had on their lives.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are the Emmys’ “’25 Bonnie and Clyde.” Let’s just hope the power couple stays Drunk in Love even after this year’s competition, where they’re competitors in the outstanding variety special (live) category.
Jay-Z, under his real name Shawn Carter, is among the executive producers nominated for Fox’s “The Apple Music Super Bowl Lix Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar,” which earned four nods total. Beyoncé is up for Netflix’s “Beyoncé Bowl” as executive producer and performer (billed as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter); that Christmas event also landed four nods.
Perhaps Jesse Collins can keep the peace. Not only is Jesse Collins Entertainment once again producing this year’s Emmy telecast, but the company was part of both the Kendrick Lamar halftime show and the Beyoncé event. On Emmy night in the production truck, Collins is likely to face 99 problems — hopefully this isn’t one.

Do you know those shows that no matter how many times you watch them, they never lose their magic? Schitt’s Creek is definitely one of those rare gems, and even after five years since its conclusion, it's still just as hilarious as ever.
Since we're in a day and age where reboots and revivals are increasingly popular, who's to say this beloved comedy series won’t make a triumphant return to delight fans once more? In fact, it looks like the show's co-creator has just hinted that a reunion movie or revival could potentially happen in the future.

After the announcement of the Emmy Awards nominations yesterday morning, The Studio was the toast of the town. With 23 nominations, the Seth Rogen-led industry send-up not only broke the record for the most nods in history for a freshman comedy, but tied The Bear's record for the most nominations for any season of a comedy.
Coming out of nominations morning, it may seem as though nothing can stop The Studio from claiming Best Comedy Series at the Emmys on Sept. 14 (and probably thanking Sal Saperstein).
But Deborah Vance may have something to say about that.
The Studio's record breaking doesn't change the fact that Hacks is the reigning Best Comedy Series, a title it claimed for its third season after two previous nominations. It has been nominated again for the top prize, one of its 14 nominations — down just a tick from last year's 17. Among those nominations is yet...

I don't know if any of us saw this coming, but Apple TV+ is definitely leading the charge in the 2025 Emmys nominations! The streamer has swept up many of them with multiple shows, and it's truly impressive to see. That includes one series that even beat Ted Lasso's Emmy nomination record that it previously held.
New Apple TV+ series The Studio, which premiered in March 2025, was able to beat out Ted Lasso's nominations at the Emmy Awards, and broke a record while at it. The Seth Rogen-led comedy received a total of 23 Emmy nominations, which is the most any comedy series has gotten in its first season, ever.
Chase Sui Wonders, Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn and Ike Barinholtz in "The Studio," now streaming on Apple TV+.
Before that, Ted Lasso held the spot when it was nominated for a total of 20 in its very first year back in 2021, per Variety.

With Hulu freshman Paradise landing a first Outstanding Drama Series Emmy nomination and the streamer’s Only Murders In the Building earning its fourth consecutive Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy nomination, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman found himself a nominee in both fields.
He is the creator, executive producer and showrunner of political thriller with a sci-fi bend Paradise, headlined and executive produced by Sterling K. Brown, and executive producer of murder mystery Omitb, created and executive produced by star Steve Martin and showrunner John Hoffman, with Martin Short and Selena Gomez also starring and exec producing.
The feat puts Fogelman in a rare group of double Emmy nominees in the top series categories. In terms of creator/executive producers, the one known previous example is David E. Kelley, nominated for both The Practice (drama series) and Ally McBeal (comedy series) in 1998 and 1999, winning Outstanding Drama both years and Comedy...

The Emmy-winning comedy series, Schitt’s Creek, ended its stellar run five years ago. Despite its time away from the spotlight, the series is still fondly remembered by large portions of its dedicated audience. The series follows the suddenly broke, and formerly filthy-rich Rose family, who are reduced to living in a ramshackle motel in a town they once bought as a joke. The series was created by Dan Levy, who also stars in the comedy series as David, the spoiled adult son of the Rose family. Schitt’s Creek is still held in high esteem, and there have been rumors of a potential revival and Levy has addressed those possibilities.
In early June 2025, the Rosebud Motel sign was hung once more on the building where the motel scenes were filmed in Canada. This fueled rumors that the show was headed for a potential revival. While making an appearance recently on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen...

Martin Scorsese received his first Emmy nomination for acting. The Oscar-winning director was nominated for the category Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in AppleTV+’s The Studio. In the episode, The Promotion, Scorsese appeared as himself and delivered an enjoyable performance.
The Studio received five of the nominations in the category, including nods for Bryan Cranston, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, and Dave Franco. The show has also been nominated for the Best Comedy Series category. It also earned acting nominations for Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, and Catherine O’Hara.
Competing with the guest stars of The Studio in the Outstanding Guest Star category is Jon Bernthal, who won the award last time for his appearance in FX’s The Bear. Fans were surprised to see two legendary directors being nominated in an acting category at the Emmys 2025.

It’s the Emmy season, and Apple TV+ has created history, bagging a jaw-dropping 79 nominations in different categories for 13 of its original shows. The insane lineup is led by Severance with a whopping 27 nominations, followed closely by The Studio, making history as the most nominated freshman series with 23 nominations across categories. Including 2 nominations for its movie The Gorge, the total comes to 81 nominations across 14 titles.
Apple TV+ is now the only channel with multiple title nominations across different categories like drama and comedy. The excitement of Emmy nomination morning fades quickly for studios and networks, because the more daunting question is always the same: How do we actually win?
It’s tempting to judge frontrunners based on sheer nomination tallies. If we followed that logic, drama series “Severance” with 27 nods, satirical comedy “The Studio” with a record-breaking 23, and the villainous limited series “The Penguin” with 24 would seem like the ones to beat. But this is the Emmys — nothing is ever that simple.
Looking at the drama categories, the race looks to shape up with Apple TV+’s “Severance” versus HBO Max’s critically acclaimed freshman entry “The Pitt,” which earned a solid 13 nominations.
On Emmy night, winning is rarely about just one factor. It’s about crafting the “winning package,” and both “Severance” and “The Pitt” performed exceptionally well with the Television Academy’s four largest branches: Executives, Actors, Writers, and Editors.

The Last of Uslooks to win big at the Emmys with more than a dozen nominations.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Last of Us Season 2 has officially snagged a whopping sixteen Emmy Award nominations. Among the most notable individual nominations the series garnered are Best Actress for Bella Ramsey's portrayal of Ellie, as well as Best Actor for Pedro Pascal's portrayal of Joel, the latter of which comes as something of a surprise considering Pascal's scant screen time in the second season.
Numerous The Last of Us stars were nominated in the categories of Best Guest Actor and Best Guest Actress, including Joe Pantoliano and Jeffrey Wright for their portrayals of Eugene and Isaac, and Catherine O'Hara and Kaitlyn Dever for their roles as Gail and Abby. The Last of Us itself earned a nomination for Best Drama, while the series' "making of" documentary was nominated for Best Nonfiction Short.

Throughout his career, newly minted Emmy nominee Shawn Hatosy has consistently injected heart and humanity into complex, often perplexing characters who thrive in the gray area.

The nominees for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and the HBO limited series The Penguin earned a total of 24 Emmy nominations for the 2025 awards.
While a substantial amount of the 24 come from the technical and craft categories, the major awards the show is up for includes a top-tier nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
The show's cast received major acclaim as well, with Colin Farrell nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor and Cristin Milioti for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Additionally, Deirdre O'Connell was honored with a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

After last year’s Primetime Emmy broadcast that sported fresh blood in terms of marquee category winners with Hacks for Comedy Series, Shōgun for Drama Series and Baby Reindeer for Limited Series/Anthology, even down to the usually tired and predictable Reality Series lineup with newcomer Peacock’s hit The Traitors , this morning’s announcement of nominees for the 77th annual Primetime Emmys gives us hope for a repeat of no repeats in the major categories. That is something increasingly rare but perhaps is a new trend where voters actually aren’t doing the same old/same old that Emmys past, fairly or unfairly, were accused of.
‘Severance’ Apple TV+
With Severance dominating the Drama Series field with an impressive 27 nominations (wow) in its second season, doubling the haul of its first which debuted way back in 2022 (and only two crafts wins then), it looks like a front-runner for a triumph come September.

Here’s to new beginnings for actor Cristin Milioti, who earned her first Emmy nomination Tuesday for her role as Sofia Falcone in HBO’s The Penguin.
Though the actor is no stranger to starring in TV shows including in Modern Love, Made for Love and Black Mirror, which have all earned nominations, she admitted to keeping her jitters at bay by “purposefully keeping” her phone at the bottom of her bag, unchecked, until the nominations reveal ended this morning.
In addition to Milioti’s recognition, The Penguin garnered 24 nominations including for Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for Colin Farrell, Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Cinematography in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Directing in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Contemporary Hairstyling and Makeup, and Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup.
So, what exactly went through Milioti’s mind once it sunk in that she had scored her first Emmy nomination?...

Daniel Fienberg: Say what you will about Emmy voters, but when they like something, they Really like it.
My biggest takeaway, as I’m picking my way through the nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, is how top-heavy the list is. Twenty-seven nominations for Severance! Twenty-four nominations for The Penguin! Twenty-three nominations apiece for The Studio and The White Lotus!
So many of these juggernauts received nominations so completely across the board — the dominance of White Lotus and Severance in the supporting categories is especially impressive — that I found myself more distracted by the standouts from those casts who didn’t get nominated than those who did. Where’s Rhenzy Feliz for The Penguin? Or Chase Sui Wonders for The Studio? Or Lisa from Blackpink for The White Lotus (or Carrie Coon’s vacation buddies, I suppose)?
It’s a myopia that leads to the consistent impression that...

The nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are finally out, and it’s shaping up to be one of the toughest races in recent years. According to DiscussingFilm, shows like The Bear, Severance, The White Lotus, and The Pitt are grabbing the most attention after scoring multiple nominations across major categories. This year’s Emmys will happen on September 14, 2025, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. You can catch it on CBS and Paramount+.
In the drama world, it’s a huge year for HBO’s The White Lotus, which picked up nominations in almost every acting category. Big names like Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell are all in the supporting actor race thanks to the show. Even supporting actresses like Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, and Natasha Rothwell are on the list. With Mike White once again nominated for directing and writing, The White Lotus could easily win big.

Hollywood satire The Studiohas set a new record at the Emmys. The Seth Rogen-fronted show pulled in a whopping 23 Emmy nominations in its freshman year, passing the mark previously set by fellow Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso.
Per Variety, Ted Lasso scored a grand total of 20 Emmy nominations when it first came on the scene, and went home with seven Emmys, including acting awards for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudeikis. Those wins massively increased the profiles of both the stars and the series -- so if The Studio wins big, it could follow in Ted Lasso's footsteps and become one of TV's biggest shows.
The Studio is created by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory and Frida Perez. It follows the fortunes of studio head Matt Remick (played by Rogen), who just wants to make movies -- but finds this desire doesn't always line up with the need to make money.

The time has come to dive into the list of 2025 Emmy Nominations, where, as luck would have it, some of the most nominated shows are from the science fiction and fantasy genres. What may be more surprising is that HBO has beaten Netflix for the most Emmy Nominations, with a total of 142, thanks to hit shows such as The White Lotus, The Penguin and The Last of Us. That's the most nominations the network has ever received.
Speaking of The Last of Us, it joins the ranks of most nominated shows alongside Severance (Apple TV+), Black Mirror (Netflix), Andor (Disney+), What We Do In The Shadows (FX), and The Boys (Prime Video). Severance, The Penguin, The Last of Us, Andor and Black Mirror are amongst the most-nominated shows.
Tell me, truthfully, are we really that surprised? Let's get into the details, shall we?
Severance is topping the list (rightfully so...

Catherine O’Hara and Julianne Nicholson showed off their acting prowess, not only landing two nominations each at the 2025 Emmys but both doing it across different genres — for light comedic and dark dramatic turns.
O’Hara is nominated in the Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series category for playing ousted studio executive Parry Leigh in Apple TV+’s The Studio and in the Guest Actress For A Drama Series field for her role as therapist Gail Lynden, who is mourning her husband, on HBO’s The Last Of Us.
In a reverse order, Nicholson is nominated as Supporting Actress In a Drama Series for her villainous mastermind character Sinatra in Hulu’s Paradise and as Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her zany Dance Mom on HBO Max’s Hacks.
These are acting Emmy noms #4 and #5 for O’Hara; she won in 2020 for Schitt’s Creek. For Nicholson, these are second...
