As its sequel scares up decent but underwhelming box office returns, I Know What You Did Last Summerwon't be online for the whole summer. The cult classic slasher movie is set to leave Netflix imminently.

Per Collider, I Know What You Did Last Summer will leave Netflix on Aug. 1, becoming one of several feature-length titles to depart from the streaming giant that day. The film hit Netflix on New Year's Day (Jan. 1) and found success on the streamer, including when the sequel hit theaters earlier this month.

Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, I Know What You Did Last Summer was penned by Scream creator Kevin Williamson and helmed by eventual Venom director Jim Gillespie. The film kicked off a longstanding franchise based on Lois Duncan's titular 1973 novel.

Mickey Rourke, Mekhi Phifer and Udo Kier are teaming to lead “Mascots,” an independent thriller beginning production in Southern California in the fall.

Written and directed by Kerry Mondragon, the desert-set 1990s period piece follows two brothers (Oliver Hibbs Wyman and Blaine Kern III) who, with the help of some costumes, have escaped a lifetime of captivity under Rourke’s character.

Details on Phifer and Kier’s characters remain under wraps. Other actors attached include Felicia “Snoop” Pearson and Til Schweiger.

Calling the film “deeply personal” in a statement, Mondragon added that “Mascots” “reflects the ripple effects of toxic masculinity, mental illness and generational abuse that give birth to chosen identities and the raw, weird beauty of survival. Joel Kinnaman’s 2024 action crime thriller The Silent Hour has made its way onto Hulu, bringing the film to a new audience after its low-key and divisive limited theatrical and VOD release back in October last year. Police procedurals have been on television for decades and delight fans with dramatic storylines. Many police shows take on modern-day social issues, which helps make them more realistic for viewers who are watching the same topics on the news. Even police shows of the past used hot-button topics to propel their storylines, even though the issues were different.

Police procedurals often break fans' hearts with characters being killed off or leaving the shows in a fashion that makes fans want to stop watching the show but can't because they are invested in the characters. Much to the delight of fans, the best police shows often run for multiple seasons before they are pulled from the air.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has closed a deal to reprise her role as Julie James in the upcoming “I Know What You Did Last Summer” movie at Sony, directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Hewitt joins previously announced cast Freddie Prinze Jr. (who also returns to the horror franchise), Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Haur-King, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols and Gabbriette. Kaytin Robinson is directing the sequel, from a script she co-wrote with Sam Lansky based off a draft by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz is producing.

Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on July 18.

There’s a new sequel to the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) and its 1998 follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one Here) coming our way from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) – and the project’s official X account has just unveiled a behind-the-scenes image to announce that production is underway!

The image shows a clapperboard for the filming of scene 50B, which involves a computer monitor that looks like it’s left over from the ’90s and a hook that has a slightly different design than the hooks we saw in the previous movies:

Robinson is directing the film from a screenplay by Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.), which has received some rewrites from Robinson and journalist Sam Lansky.

Dr. Archer’s Chicago Med resignation cliffhanger is worrying a lot of people.

It’s likely he won’t actually leave the medical drama, but still. He submitted that letter despite promising Hannah he’d reconsider.

The good news is that this is not the first medical drama with this storyline. Years ago, ER had a similar story with Gregory Pratt (Mekhi Phifer), so is it possible to look at it for clues as to what happens next?

On ER Season 14 Episode 11, Pratt had a similar experience to Archer. In Pratt’s case, he had been passed over for the ER Chief position, which he felt he deserved, in favor of Skye Wexler.

Skye was a young female doctor who had recently arrived, and Pratt felt disrespected. Thus, he considered submitting his letter of resignation.

While there’s no word yet on who he will play, TV Line reports that this is doubly exciting news because he will interact with several other ER alums, including Maura Tierney, who plays Jessica Brady, the new head of the homicide department.

While there is a definite connection between ER and Dick Wolf Entertainment, this is not an ER reunion, and Phifer’s guest role on Law & Order is good news for far more important reasons.

Kleenex must be making a fortune off of NCIS: Origins. I don’t know how the writers do it, but every episode is more intense than the last. Pretty soon, viewers will be too dehydrated to watch the show.

Between the return to Gibbs’s trauma over losing his wife, watching Franks be the entire heart of the Nis, and a truly heartbreaking case on top of that, I’d say “One Flew Over” was a borderline overdose of emotion.

That said, NCIS: Origins managed a few quirky moments that certainly earned some laughs. For example, I agree with Lori Petty’s Dr. Lenora Friedman, who said that Lala and Randy would have cute kids.

Law & Order Season 24 debuted its fall finale on Thursday, November 21, and will return early next year, joining a couple of other NBC shows set to kick off the new year in style. With the shows return comes a new cast member, an ER alum, who will guest-star in an upcoming Season 24 episode. TVLine reports that Mekhi Phifer, who portrayed Dr. Greg Pratt on NBC's long-running medical drama ER for over half a decade, will appear in Law & Order next year. This means he will work on the same set as fellow ER alum Maura Tierney, who now plays Lt. Jessica Brady in the police procedural.
