It: Welcome To Derry Pennywise Design Revealed Via Movie Maniacs Figures - Spoilers
Image
The trailers and promos we've seen for It: Welcome to Derry so far have mostly kept Bill Skarsgård's returning Pennywise under wraps, but the demonic child-killing clown has now been unveiled via two Movie Maniacs McFarlane Toys action figures, and it seems HBO Max has taken an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to the character design.

As you'll see from the photos below, the standard figure looks pretty much exactly like Pennywise from the It movies, although the "flashback" variant does have a brighter clown suit, and what appears to be an ill-fitting headpiece.

This could either signify that this younger Pennywise still hasn't quite grown into his costume, or that the figure comes with interchangeable parts.

We know that Pennywise is a shape-shifter, so there's a good chance he will take other forms in the series.

Both figures measure 6″ tall, and come with scenic printed backdrops and environmental base displays,...

But at the end of the last episode, as Harrison was ready to turn himself in, Dexter finally reached out. In this week’s episode, “Murder Horny,” we get a father-son reunion. Let’s dive into this week’s episode.

We pick up right where we left off, with Dexter placing a hand on Harrison’s shoulder. At first alarmed, not wanting to believe his father is alive, Harrison soon realizes it’s true. But it’s not exactly a happy reunion. Turns out that despite Dexter’s attempt at training, Harrison isn’t really into killing. His conscience has been aflame since he dispatched Ryan Foster, even if he did deserve it. He still has Ryan’s watch,...

'It: Welcome to Derry' Creator Says Exactly What Stephen King Fans Want to Hear
Image
AsStephen Kingfans gear up for the release of It: Welcome to Derry, the HBO prequel to It that'll arrive in October, many wonder whether the TV version will be able to capture the horror of the 2017 adaptation and its 2019 sequel. Though it's a change of medium, we're talking about HBO, a network that isn't exactly known for diluting stuff that might be deemed controversial. Show creator Barbara Muschietti understands this concern, and she's offered fans the reassurance they've been hoping for, vowing that It: Welcome to Derry will be as scary as the movies.

Per Screen Rant, the showrunner and producer appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con to talk about the upcoming show, where she was joined by her brother, co-producer and It director, Andy Muschietti, and they shared a few details about the series. At the event, the siblings revealed that It: Welcome to Derry will explore the origins of Pennywise the Clown,...

Dexter: Resurrection: Who Are the 4 Serial Killers At the Dinner?
Image
Dexter: Resurrection Episode 4 saw the introduction of 4 new sinister serial killers. Episode 4, titled “Call Me Red”, aired on July 25, 2025, where Dexter (Michael C. Hall) infiltrates a dinner party. At the dinner, we are introduced to Krysten Ritter’s Mia or Lady Vengeance, Eric Stonestreet’s Al or Rapunzel, Neil Patrick Harris’ Lowell or the Tattoo Collector, and David Dastmalchian’s Gareth or the Gemini killer (via Vulture).

Lady Vengeance, as the name suggests, hunts down sexual predators; Rapunzel or the ponytail guy has an inclination toward picking victims with ponytails because of unresolved mommy issues; the Tattoo collector collects the tatted skins of his victims, and the Gemini Killer is a Zodiac analog, and by far the most serial killer-esque of the lot.

Dexter poses as “Red” and observes the elite gathering as he debates killing one of the killers. Here’s a recap of the bizarre dinner party hosted by the NYC billionaire,...

‘It: Welcome to Derry’ Connects Stephen King’s Worlds in Chilling Teaser
Image
HBO has released the second official trailer for It: Welcome to Derry, offering a chilling preview of the upcoming nine-episode series based on Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel. Arriving on HBO Max this October, the prequel pulls audiences back into the cursed town of Derry, Maine, to explore the evil that lurked there long before the Losers’ Club faced off against Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

The teaser begins in 1962, as a new family settles into town, unaware of the dark force that quietly festers beneath the surface. Early glimpses hint at a population infected by paranoia and cruelty, as an unexplained evil appears to feed on Derry’s collective fears. While Bill Skarsgård’s return as Pennywise is only teased, his looming presence is unmistakable, with references to mysterious disappearances and unspoken horrors suggesting the beginning of a fresh cycle of terror.

All Hell Breaks Loose In It: Welcome To Derry Trailer As HBO Sets October Premiere For Prequel TV Series
Image
A new trailer for It: Welcome to Derry has been released following a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con yesterday evening, and it teases a sinister, demonic force in the small town, which may be there in addition to Pennywise.

Once again, we see very little of Bill Skarsgård's killer clown, an indication perhaps that his screentime will be fairly limited. That or HBO Max is simply looking to keep the iconic monster and his role in this story under wraps (ensuring there are plenty of surprises for horror fans).

It's also been confirmed that It: Welcome to Derry will premiere this October, meaning we should return to Derry in time for Halloween.

The series, from Warner Bros. Television and developed for television by filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), will debut on HBO and also be available to stream on Max. Muschietti will direct...

Things can get spooky at Comic-Con after dark. And thanks the combination of Stephen King and the filmmaking team of Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the It: Welcome to Derry panel delivered the scares Saturday night in San Diego.

The sibling duo shared a new teaser trailer (below), played the opening scene of their upcoming HBO series, which fleshes out stories from King’s sprawling 1986 novel, and explained the impetus behind the initial eight-episode season.

"One of the most fascinating things about the book is the cryptic factor, which is, you hear the story, you know certain things, but you never get to the end of anything. At the end of the book, nobody knows what the hell It is, what does it want? Who is Bob Gray? How did it all happen? We are going to ruin all this," Andy quipped, "by unveiling some of these mysteries, but with very good taste.

Dexter's Original Harry Morgan Actor Responds To Prequel Series' Recasting: "I Was Very Proud"
Image
At San Diego Comic-Con’sDexter: Original Sin panel, the Og Harry Morgan actor revealed his reaction to being recast in the prequel show. The Dexter franchise now consists of three shows, and Dexter: Original Sin features an entirely new cast as younger versions of the returning characters. The role of Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father, was previously played by James Remar, but Christian Slater took over for the prequel.

Set 15 years before the original show, Christian Slater's version of Harry Morgan appears alongside Patrick Gibson's Dexter Morgan. The relationship between the father and son helps lay the groundwork for the titular character becoming a serial killer in Dexter.

While the recasting wasn’t personal, it was bound to bring out emotions in the original actors. In the case of Remar, they were all positive. Screen Rant was present at the Dexter panel at Sdcc 2025, where Remar shared his feelings...

Original Dexter Star Reveals They Won't Be Appearing In Resurrection: "I'm A Little Heartbroken"
Image
One original star confirms they will not be returning for Dexter: Resurrection. The latest sequel in the Dexter franchise, Dexter: Resurrection's story follows Michael C. Hall as his character returns from the dead to follow his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), to New York City.

So far, Dexter: Resurrection has been a success. ScreenRant's Greg MacArthur said in his Dexter: Resurrection review that the series delivers "exactly what the franchise needed and what fans have been dying to see." The series feels like a return to form with Dexter on the hunt in a metropolitan area, while also expanding on his character and the lore.

After the original Dexter had a poorly received series finale, and the finale to the single-season sequel Dexter: New Blood proved divisive, Resurrection has the chance to tell new, engaging stories. Some of that is delivering fan-service moments, but one actor won't make an appearance.

Dexter: Resurrection viewership numbers prove this franchise isn't going anywhere—for better or for worse
Image
More than a decade after Dexter first carved out its place in pop culture, the iconic serial killer has once again returned to dominate the small screen, and the numbers don’t lie. Dexter: Resurrection, the latest installment in the long-running franchise, has slashed its way to a record-breaking debut, proving that this blood-stained saga still has plenty of life left in it.

Dexter: Resurrection premiered its first two episodes on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 11, before making its cable debut on Showtime that Sunday night. According to Deadline, the crime drama managed to pull in 3.1 million global viewers across platforms over the weekend of its release. That's a 46% increase over the debut of Dexter: Original Sin.

Dexter: Resurrection Hides Harrison’s Missing Puzzle Piece That Is Still Breathing
Image
Dexter: Resurrection on Paramount+ is making waves and rightly so. But the show’s narrative so far spotlights one glaring omission from Dexter: New Blood: Harrison’s half-siblings, Cody and Astor. The two characters, who were a part of the original series’ main cast, remain unmentioned, even in the second reboot of the franchise.

While we have only gotten to Dexter: Resurrection Episode 3 so far, the blatant removal of these characters from the show, or rather, Harrison and Dexter Morgan’s memory, is not sitting right with longtime fans of the franchise. While the two were not mentioned in New Blood (via Screen Rant), fans held high hopes for their appearance in the most recent reboot. Let’s dive into why this omission stings viewers who have been with the franchise since its early days.

Dexter Alum Feels 'Heartbroken' After Getting Left Out of Resurrection
Image
Dexter: Resurrection brings back Michael C. Hall and other stars from the original series, but there wasn't room for everyone to return. That's left at least one Dexter alum feeling bummed about getting left out.

In the classic Dexter, Julie Benz co-starred as Rita, Dexter Morgan's girlfriend (and later wife). After starring in the first four seasons, Benz had her character shockingly killed off, though she later popped back up for a flashback sequence. Dexter is also known to have visions of other deceased characters, so it was certainly possible for Rita to make an appearance somehow in Resurrection. However, per Bingetown TV, Benz said she is not going to appear in the new show.

“Talk about a killer debut,” nine out of 10 news stories on this topic will begin.

The Dexter: Resurrection premiere drew 3.1 million global cross-platform viewers in its first three days, representing a 46% larger audience than what the Dexter: Original Sin prequel series opened to last December.

The return of grown-up Dexter also delivered the most-streamed premiere in Showtime history, putting up 44% bigger numbers than Original Sin, and marking a 76% improvement on Dexter: New Blood (circa November 2021).

TVLine readers gave the premiere an average grade of “A”; get Michael C. Hall’s take on the surprise cameos and see what Jack Alcott (who plays Harrison) said about the season’s gruesome first kill.

“Dexter: Resurrection delivered an electrifying performance that not only rekindled a fiercely devoted fanbase but also captivated a new generation of viewers — shattering records with Showtime’s most-streamed premiere ever,” Chris McCarthy, President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said in a statement. “This triumph underscores the lasting impact of this iconic franchise, brought to life by Michael C. Hall’s unparalleled portrayal and [showrunner] Clyde Phillips’ visionary creative leadership.”

Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City determined to find him and make things right.

Closure, though, won’t come easy. “When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast,” the series synopsis reads. “As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined – and that the only way out is together.”

Michael C. Hall’s ‘Dexter’ Sequel Gets Chopped to Pieces by Streaming Competition
Image
For a television franchise as influential as Dexter, nothing short of absolute domination on the viewership charts can be considered successful. The franchise returned recently with a new sequel series, titled Dexter: Resurrection. Set in the aftermath of the events shown in Dexter: New Blood, the series finds everybody's favorite serial killer, played by the returning Michael C. Hall, mentoring his now-grown son Harrison in the ways of "the Code," while evading the suspicions of his old buddy, Angel Batista. Although Resurrectiondebuted to positive reviews and impressive ratings, the show seems to have taken a rather unexpected tumble.

According to FlixPatrol, Resurrectioncouldn't find a spot on the Paramount+ top 10 on July 16 and 17. This is astounding, seeing as four dormant Taylor Sheridan shows — Yellowstone, 1923, Lioness, and Tulsa King — found spots on the top 10 list, which was topped by MobLand. Resurrection did, however, score a prime spot on the US charts, where...

When Directors Got Their Way – Wildest Casting Choices in Movies
Image
There are actors who were born for a role, or so we say when the former does an incredible job. It’s not uncommon to even recall an iconic movie and have a hard time imagining how one character could be played by somebody else; was there ever an alternative to begin with?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Terminator and Viggo Mortensen is Aragorn, as if the role was made for them and there was no script or book to base it on.

There are countless scenarios in which the above is true, and the one thing we can say for sure is that casting directors did an incredible job in all of them. Often, though, that is not the entire picture of what truly happened behind the scenes.

There’s a story to be shared in the movies about when you never expected an actor to succeed but, still, they...
