It’s not just Nine Inch Nails or Pearl Jam or Primus. It’s not even just Gnr or Oasis or Iron Maiden. It’s a host of rock and metal bands from different genres, at different levels of fame,...

Two months after the death of Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys legend was laid to rest at Los Angeles’ Westwood Memorial Park.

His daughter Carnie Wilson, singer of the Nineties trio Wilson Phillips, wrote a heartfelt post on Instagram about her father’s burial. “Today we laid my Daddy to rest,” she said. “It was incredibly difficult to see that happen, but at the same time it gave more closure and more of a feeling of restful peace. The last eight weeks have been extremely challenging and like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

10 Controversial Hulk Hogan Moments That Came Back to Haunt Him
Image
For years, Hulk Hogan has been painted as the wrestling icon who has carried WWE to mainstream popularity and made it relevant. However, behind his bright red and yellow attire, he was a man, committing sins and stirring the pot with controversies. With the icon having passed away at the age of 71, his legacy has been built on a fair share of hate and questionable actions.

Once the idol of kids, teaching them to “train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins,” Hogan transitioned to be an eyesore to fellow locker room talents, having nothing good to say about him. Despite committing countless scandals, we at FandomWire are bringing forward the 10 fiascos that tarnished his public image.

All 4 Seasons of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Ranked Worst to Best
Image
When Only Murders in the Building premiered in 2021, it became an instant fan favorite. Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the Hulu Original series blended comedy, mystery, and lovable characters into a whodunnit format that echoed coziness and warmth as well. The three main characters in the middle of this were Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), and Oliver Putnam (Martin Short).

Over the four seasons, the show evolved from a murder mystery to one that also explored themes of reinvention, fame, friendship, and more. There have been multiple high-profile celebrities who have been a part of the show, like Meryl Streep, Amy Schumer, Paul Rudd, and more. But not every season has managed to charm audiences like the first one did. So, here’s a ranking of the 4 seasons from the worst to the best.

Why Austin Butler's Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen Is Bald In Dune: Part Two
Image
A year removed from "Dune: Part Two," it's still pretty astonishing that Denis Villeneuve was able to adapt Frank Herbert's epic sci-fi novel into not just back-to-back Best Picture nominees, but two of the greatest blockbuster achievements of the 21st century. /Film's Chris Evangelista may not be quite as high on it as I am, yet he lauded the bleak tone and loaded material of "Part Two" in his review. Knowing Villeneuve is already hard at work on the tentatively titled "Dune: Part Three" (which is based on the sequel book "Dune: Messiah") makes me even more excited to see how he translates the material for the screen. He certainly had his work cut out for him in a whole number of areas adapting these stories, but perhaps the most challenging has to be the casting of these totemic figures of sci-fi literature. It's safe to say he exceeded...

Terrestrial Review: An Estranged Friend Hides A Dark Secret in Silly Indie Caper [Fantasia 2025]
Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) director Steve Pink returns with the lower key (but still silly) anxiety- fueled thriller Terrestrial. While this new effort does not feature Crispin Glover juggling a chainsaw, it does have reliable funny man Jermaine Fowler using his talents to step into a new role as a slippery and suspicious character hiding a dark secret. Co-starring James Morosini (It’s What’s Inside), Pauline Chalamet (The King of Staten Island), and Edy Modica (Jury Duty), Terrestrial is a quirky thriller about what happens when your friends become hilariously unreliable and unpredictably dangerous.

After college pals Ryan (Morosini), Maddie (Chalamet), and Vic (Modica) receive a worried message from the mother of their mutual friend Allen (Fowler), the group take a quick trip to see him out in Los Angeles. To their surprise, he’s living in a mansion thanks to his unexpected success as a hot-on-the-scene Sci-Fi writer….or so he says.

The Tao of Ozzy Osbourne: 17 Profound Quotes From Metal’s Prince of Darkness
Image
As anyone who remembers MTV’s The Osbournes can attest, Ozzy Osbourne, who died Tuesday at 76, had a way with words. It didn’t matter if he was walking offstage after playing to 50,000 fans or sitting at his house struggling to work the TV remote, the metal pioneer always managed to come up with a turn of phrase that was both hilarious and unexpectedly wise. That’s why the family rejected an early idea to have The Osbournes be a scripted sitcom as opposed to a reality show.

Image
An all-new live-action take on a much-loved ‘90s eco-superhero franchise is underway- thanks to Leonardo DiCaprio. While he won’t be returning to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spinoff, DiCaprio has firmly positioned himself in the producer’s chair for Netflix’s Captain Planet.

The series is a revival of the original cartoon released in 1990, which featured the voice of Star Trek Tng actor LeVar Burton. Whoopi Goldberg also lent her voice to the animated series. The legacy these stars have left behind might be tough to build on, but we’re excited to see what DiCaprio has in store for Planeteer fans.

Leonardo DiCaprio Revives The Eco-Hero Series Captain Planet

Leonardo DiCaprio’s environmental storytelling efforts go way back. Through his production company Appian Way, DiCaprio has been in talks to pick up a Captain Planet adaptation since 2016, when a feature film, co-written by Glen Powell, was stalled.

“This was a treasured episode”: The Simpsons Removing Michael Jackson’s Episode Still Stings 6 Years Later
Image
In 2019, a single decision left a deep cut in pop culture history – The Simpsons pulled its iconic Season 3 premiere, Stark Raving Dad, featuring none other than Michael Jackson. Six years later, the sting still lingers. What was once a fan-fave, emotional, and musically memorable episode became collateral damage in the wake of HBO’s Leaving Neverland documentary, which spotlighted abuse allegations against the late pop icon.

“This was a treasured episode. There are a lot of great memories we have wrapped up in that one, and this certainly doesn’t allow them to remain,” said long-time producer James L. Brooks (per The Wall Street Journal), acknowledging how deeply personal the choice was for the creators who’d worked closely with Jackson to craft it.

The episode marked a surreal and powerful crossover between two cultural titans – The Simpsons at the peak of its golden age and Michael Jackson, still the biggest music icon on Earth.

‘Billy Joel: And So It Goes’ Review: Smart, Sprawling Documentary Makes a Case, Even for Non-Fans, of the Piano Man’s Greatness
Image
“Billy Joel: And So It Goes” is a bit like the Piano Man and his songs: not particularly flashy or stylish when you first see it, but brimming with insight, entertainment value, and deep feeling. And like Joel, it carries a little chip on its shoulder. “And So It Goes” spends a lot of its nearly five-hour running time pushing back against the critics who thought Joel was uncool or derivative. And, well, it should.

Susan Lacy and Jessica Levin’s documentary looks at that criticism head-on — there are so many close-ups of snarky Rolling Stone reviews — and builds a case that’s really quite self-evident if you look at Joel’s music as it is rather than what you wish it was: as thematically and melodically complex as that of any pop artist with a bunch of number one hits.

His “me against the world” demeanor is there in...

Billy Joel Went to Extremes. A New Five-Hour Doc Shows How and Why
Image
Over the course of its two parts and five hours, Billy Joel: And So It Goes recruits many of the title legend’s musician pals, from Bruce Springsteen and Sting to, surprisingly, Nas, who speaks to the way “Piano Man” still resonates. They all testify to Joel’s songwriting chops, his everydude way with a lyric, or the times he’s bristled, to say the least, at bad reviews. But it takes one of Joel’s non-music friends, Howard Stern, to pinpoint what makes the documentary, debuting this weekend on HBO,...

Live Aid: When Rock ‘n’ Roll Took on the World Review: Unpacking the Legend’s Complicated Truth
Image
An event like Live Aid exists in the cultural memory less as a historical fact and more as a piece of modern mythology. To revisit it 40 years on, as the BBC’s documentary series does, is to risk puncturing a legend. Live Aid: When Rock ‘n’ Roll Took on the World thankfully avoids simple nostalgia.

Instead, it positions the phenomenon as a cultural artifact born of a specific, peculiar moment in time. The series begins not with a triumphant guitar riff, but with the broadcast that started it all: Michael Buerk’s stark report on the Ethiopian famine.

The footage feels like an alien transmission, cutting through the neon-drenched, synthesizer-heavy fug of 1980s pop culture. This documentary frames the subsequent musical uprising not as a simple charity drive, but as a frantic, ambitious, and deeply flawed experiment.

It investigates what happens when pop-star idealism, armed with astonishing cultural power,...

Billy Joel HBO Documentary Trailer Highlights Classical Music to “Uptown Girl” Journey Amid “Hard Lessons”: “Life Is a Fight”
Image
HBO has released the trailer for its sprawling two-part Billy Joel documentary, And So It Goes, which airs across two weeks this month and clocks in at a total of five hours.

In the preview, the iconic musician opens up about his journey from growing up in Hicksville, New York, to hearing classical music and writing “Uptown Girl” as well as the “hard lessons” he learned along the way.

The trailer opens with Joel, over clips of him performing, including to a packed audience, speaking about his disconnect with fame.

“Sometimes it’s alien to me, this guy Billy Joel,” he says. “I don’t know who that is or what that is. I’m reminded of it when I go walk on the street.”

Amid clips of him performing and composing at home, he reveals how his classical music past affected his own pop compositions.

Toni Cornell, daughter of the late Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell, has paid tribute to the late Brian Wilson with a moving cover of The Beach Boys’ classic “God Only Knows.”

News of Wilson’s passing at the age of 82 was announced by his children on June 11th. Tributes poured in from musicians around the world, including from his bandmates Mike Love and Al Jardine, as well as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen.

The Bride!: Peter Sarsgaard expects Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Bride of Frankenstein remake to be controversial
Image
A couple of years ago, word leaked out that Maggie Gyllenhaal was set to write and direct a film called The Bride!, a new take on the concept of the 1935 classic The Bride of Frankenstein (watch it Here). Once thought to be set up at the Netflix streaming service, this one is actually happening at Warner Bros., and the studio has set the film for a theatrical release on March 6, 2026. That’s a longer wait than initially expected, as the movie had previously been scheduled for an October 2025 release – and during an interview with Deadline, cast member Peter Sarsgaard (who also happens to be married to Gyllenhaal) said that he expects the movie to be controversial when it does make its way out into the world.

Gyllenhaal has assembled a strong cast for the film that includes, in addition to Sarsgaard, Penelope Cruz, Annette Bening, Julianne Hough, John Magaro, Jeannie Berlin,...

The 50 Funniest Moments in ‘This Is Spinal Tap’
Image
For decades now, rock stars have come up to Rob Reiner to share their feelings about This Is Spinal Tap. “Sting once told me, ‘I watched this movie many times. Every time I watch it, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,’” the director recalled in 2022. Indeed, among the many wonderful things about that 1984 comedy classic is how painfully, brutally accurate it remains in its skewering of rock ‘n’ roll ego and excess. You don’t have to take our word for it — just ask the musicians who cringe at seeing their lives mocked up there on the screen.

Inspired by The Last Waltz, in which Martin Scorsese palled around with the Band during the group’s 1976 farewell concert, This Is Spinal Tap returns to theaters on July 5th in what’s being described as a “remastered, remixed and definitive 4k version.” No matter how many times you...

What Is Stealth Juror: How Juror No 25 Concerns May Favor P Diddy in the Final Verdict?
Image
The jurors in the Diddy trial are concerned about Juror No. 25, who they believe to be a potential stealth juror. Jury deliberations are ongoing in the Diddy trial, where they will decide on the five counts of charges brought against the rapper. Judge Arun Subramanian received a note within minutes after the jury deliberations began.

The note said, “We have a juror, No. 25, who we are concerned cannot follow your honor’s instructions.” Earlier, Judge Subramanian had clearly instructed the jury about how to weigh the evidence and the guidelines they should use to find Diddy guilty.

Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani, a legal expert for Fox News Digital, shared that Juror No. 25 could be “a potential stealth juror”, adding that “we’re looking at the possibility of jury nullification.”

A stealth juror is a juror who had biases from the beginning of the case, but managed to hide them during jury selection.

If Not Freak Off Parties, One Evidence Will Put P Diddy Behind Bars: Expert Talks Judges’ Verdict and Cassie Ventura’s Hotel Video
Image
One legal expert claimed that P Diddy might be off the hook for the Freak-Off parties, but added that he might get cooked on another charge. Legal analyst for Fox News, Gregg Jarrett, has shared that the rap mogul could be acquitted of the sex trafficking and racketeering charges. However, he felt that the jury would not find his physical abuse of ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura lightly.

While Jarrett believed the prosecution put up a formidable case, he shared that the defense’s claims would put the jury in a hard position. According to Jarrett, the defense claimed in court that “our client is a bad guy, we own the brutal beating of his ex-girlfriend, but nevertheless, everything else was consensual.”

Jarrett shared that the prosecution was able to methodically go through Diddy’s ten crimes that amounted to racketeering and criminal enterprise. They also presented witnesses and documentary evidence, but...

“He never charged me $3K or $5K a day”: P Diddy’s Old Tweet That Sums up His Relationship With Sting
Image
P Diddy is currently dominating headlines for his ongoing federal criminal trial, but those aren’t the only legal troubles he’s stuck in. Turns out, he also pulled some issues with musician-activist Sting almost three decades ago, and is still paying the price for the same. This is because his hit track I’ll Be Missing You sampled the humanitarian’s 1983 classic Every Breath You Take without permission.

This led to a pretty expensive legal settlement, which has since had the now-disgraced music mogul paying a hefty sum to the activist. However, Diddy seemingly tried to make light of his situation with an @Diddy/X tweet as he claimed about the actual amount he was paying Sting: “Nope. 5K a day. Love to my brother @OfficialSting!” But a follow-up tweet from him explained that he was only joking with that comment, as he clarified:

I want y’all to understand I was joking!

Image
After the first part of the new Billy Joel documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes premiered at Tribeca Film Festival this month, HBO Max has confirmed that both installments will arrive on the platform next month, with part one debuting on July 18th and part two following on July 25th.

The documentary captures the highs and lows of Joel’s life and career, delving into his various hit singles and albums, relationships, and health struggles. The premiere at Tribeca had previously revealed a particularly dark chapter in Joel’s life; he attempted suicide twice before launching his solo career, citing an affair with his best friend and bandmate’s wife as the catalyst for his depression.

Part one also details Joel’s near-fatal motorcycle accident in 1982 and his relationship to alcohol, which had a significant impact on his health. Part two, on the other hand, explores Joel’s road to recovery,...

HBO has set the premiere dates for its two-part original documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes. Part one will air on Friday, July 18, followed by part two a week later on Friday, July 25. Each part will debut on HBO, and streaming service HBO Max, at 8 p.m. Et/Pt and run for roughly two-and-a-half hours, with the full exploration of the iconic musician clocking in at nearly five hours.

Why Barbra Streisand Was “a Bit” Scared to Hit Studio With Bob Dylan to Record New Duet
Image
Barbra Streisand is having breakfast.

It’s Wednesday afternoon, just after 1 p.m., and the legendary artist is sharing blueberries with her three beloved Coton de Tuléars. She’s happy to multitask, however, as there’s work to do in promoting The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two, a new album of duets that drops Friday, June 27. The sequel to 2014’s Grammy-nominated Partners finds Streisand sharing lyrics with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Sting, James Taylor, Hozier, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and more.

The roster reads like a who’s who of the music business, a list that it seems only Streisand could land for one record. “Isn’t it great? I’m very lucky,” Streisand tells The Hollywood Reporter over the phone from her home in Malibu. She’s also counting her blessings that her voice rose to the challenge of recording 11 new songs, a feat accomplished after a grueling...

Barbra Streisand on Her New Album, Not Being Paid Enough for ‘Meet the Fockers’ and if She’ll Ever Direct or Perform Live Again
Image
Barbra Streisand hasn’t stopped working since launching her professional singing career 65 years ago in New York City.

The first performer to earn Egot status, Streisand’s legacy spans music, theater, film and television.

Now 83, Streisand is releasing “The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” a collection of duets with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Laufey, Hozier, Sam Smith, James Taylor, Sting, Tim McGraw and Josh Groban. Both Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey join her on “One Heart, One Voice.”

“The Secret of Life” comes not even two years after she published her massive 970-page memoir, “My Name Is Barbra,” which was accompanied by 48-hour audiobook that she read. She is also in production of a multi-part documentary about her life directed by Frank Marshall.

Even so, Streisand insists, “I’m very lazy. I don’t like to have to work.”

She adds, “I like to be free. I don’t like to have commitments.

“I Was Diddy’s Publicist. I Didn’t See a Monster — or Chose Not To”
Image
For a few surreal years during the early 2000s, I stood just outside the velvet rope of modern celebrity, close enough to bask in its glow, far enough to avoid its consequences. I was a publicist — not just for Sean “Diddy” Combs but also for Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi, Kate Spade, Jessica Simpson and Naomi Campbell. My job was to shape images, spin crises and polish imperfections into allure. Fame was the product. I was part of the packaging.

But no client defined that chapter of my life more than Diddy. Back then, he was one of the most visible men on earth — a music mogul, fashion tastemaker and tabloid fixture. I took his calls at 1 a.m., traveled on his private jets and drafted statements that bore his name but never his truth. I thought I was managing a persona. In reality, I was helping protect a system.

The past few months have been quite a head-snapping time for Zak Starkey.
