Spent three years working at Tower Records while writing the script for Se7en (1995).

In the world of "Entourage," he wrote the "Aquaman" script.

Had a well-publicized fallout with director Joel Schumacher over 8MM (1999).

As script doctor, he did uncredited re-writes on The Game (1997), Event Horizon (1997) and Stir of Echoes (1999).

Did some uncredited additions to the Fight Club (1999) script. In the final credits of the film the names of the three detectives who try to castrate the Narrator are Detectives Andrew, Kevin and Walker.

I fell in love with [Se7en (1995) director David] Fincher, because he was going back to the first draft after a long period of development. I did a 140-page draft for another director, and it didn't have any head in the box.

People are going to laugh at your attempt to write a really romantic scene. So what can you do to protect yourself? You can shock people...

The great thing about horror is you can get away with no happy endings.

I'm the very first body in the scene that Morgan walks in on and I love doing that kind of thing, but I'm very nervous about it [...] If you see those few frames of me laying there in that pool of blood in that first crime scene Morgan's investigating, just know that I was having a horrible panic attack.
