In a press release from Ubisoft (via Kotaku), the publisher divulged that it has "decided to provide additional development time to some of its biggest productions in order to create the best conditions for success." This is followed by the assertion that "[Fiscal Year] 2026-27 and FY2027-28 will see significant growth vs. FY2025-26 on the back of strong content coming from [Ubisoft's] largest brands." While said brands aren't specifically named, Ubisoft's most notable IPs include Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, and could extend to the likes of Tom Clancy's.

On Sunday, February 2, the Saturn Awards honored Back to the Future on its 40th Anniversary with the George Pal Memorial Award. Gale, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson received the honor, and the writer addressed fan desire for a fourth installment of the sci-fi film.

“People always say, ‘When are you guys going to do Back to the Future 4? And we say, ‘F*** you!’ Gale jokingly said while accepting the honor. “You can quote me on that.”

He continued, “No, we made three terrific movies and people kept asking for more Back to the Future. So we made Back to the Future: The Musical, which Chris and Lea have attended on several occasions.”

The musical adaptation of the film ended its Broadway run last month, and a touring production continues throughout North America.

Bob Gale, the screenwriter behind the iconic sci-fi adventure franchise Back to the Future, has shared his take on the possibility of a sequel. The two appear to be channeling the feud between their characters, as Tolkan is pointing sternly at Fox with the latter giving the former a scowl in return. Due to some recent leaks surfacing, a revitalized version of the acclaimed title is reportedly in development stages for the upcoming next-generation Nintendo console. There has been no actual confirmation of the return to Calamity Hyrule by Nintendo, but why is Nintendo choosing to spotlight Breath of the Wild compared to a new Zelda franchise addition as they did with the Wii U and Switch?

Many people forget that Breath of the Wild debuted as a Nintendo Wii U release and was then announced for the Nintendo Switch a few years later. If these Breath of the Wild leaks turn out to be true, then Nintendo seems to be relying too hard on the critical success of Botw instead of exploring new avenues.

Back to the Future 4 might never get made, but there is an official sequel to the original Back to the Future trilogy that made Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown the star of the franchise. Robert Zemeckis has made it perfectly clear that he’s not interested in continuing the Back to the Future series with a fourth movie, and he won’t let any other filmmaker or money-grubbing studio do it for him. This is probably for the best — those legacy sequels rarely work out — but it is a shame that this story is over.

It would’ve been a joy to see Doc and Marty McFly share the screen one last time for one last time-traveling adventure. The franchise has continued in the form of video games and a stage musical, but none of them have been a direct continuation of the cinematic saga; it’s not the same...

While there were some things Back to the Future Part II got right about 2015, not all of its predictions were right. From self-lacing sneakers to flying cars, there were a few wild predictions about the future in one of the best Back to the Future movies. One such prediction was only in a few seconds of the film, and finding it means finding a dirty joke that wasn't intended for young audiences.
