The Australian star will bring Vivian to life in the new national production of the hit musical based on the iconic 1990 film.

Samantha Jade has been confirmed as the lead for the highly anticipated Australian version of Pretty Woman: The Musical, playing Vivian, the character immortalised by Julia Roberts in the classic romantic movie. The premiere will take place at Brisbane’s Qpac this October, before moving to Sydney’s Theatre Royal in November.

Producer Suzanne Jones, from Jones Theatrical Group, expressed her excitement after the artist’s audition: “We knew from the very first moment that not offering her the role would be a huge mistake. Enormous. Her voice fits perfectly with Bryan Adams’ iconic score. I know Australian audiences will fall in love with her.”

For Samantha, this role means much more than just a new challenge: it’s an opportunity to connect with an audience that has watched her grow.

Manifest actress Luna Blaise has landed herself a great role in the upcoming Jurassic World sequel, Jurassic World Rebirth. In the film, she appears as Teresa Delgado, the daughter of Reuben Delgado, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. The film will be her first major on-screen project, as she has appeared mainly in TV shows, short films, and minor roles in small films.

She started acting professionally at the age of five. She did many commercials for brands including McDonald’s, KFC, Dunkin Hines, Target, and Gap. She appeared in the independent film, Memoria, executive produced by James Franco. Her network television debut came in ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, where she played the recurring role of Nicole Ellis.

In 2018, she was cast as Olive Stone in the NBC supernatural thriller, Manifest. She is also a trained dancer, with ten years of experience in Russian ballet. She also had a musical career.

iHeartRadio Music Festival will return to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 19 and 20 with performances from Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, Jelly Roll, and more. The event will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with both days of performances broadcast across iHeartMedia radio stations and streamed on Hulu.

Additional performances will be announced in the months leading up to iHeartRadio Music Festival 2025. Currently, the lineup also features Bryan Adams, Feid, GloRilla, John Fogerty, Justice, LL Cool J, Sammy Hagar, the Offspring, and Tim McGraw.

Tate McRae, Ed Sheeran and Mariah Carey are among the artists slated to perform at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, iHeartMedia announced Tuesday morning.

The two-day concert — taking place September 19th and 20th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas — will also feature performances from Bryan Adams, Feid, GloRilla, Jelly Roll, John Fogerty, Justice, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Maroon 5, Sammy Hagar, The Offspring and Tim McGraw. Ryan Seacrest is hosting the event, which is expected to “include one-of-a-kind collaborations and surprise performances,” according to a release.

“What makes the iHeartRadio Music Festival one-of-a-kind is that we bring together the biggest artists from all genres of music for the entire weekend,” iHeartMedia’s chief programming officer Tom Poleman and iHeartMedia’s president of entertainment enterprises John Sykes said in a joint statement.

According to Paramount+, many episodes “haven’t been available in 20+ years.” The MTV Unplugged offerings alone are a reason to consider getting a Paramount+ subscription, with iconic performances from bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Tori Amos, Staind, Korn, The Cranberries, Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Duran Duran, and more up for grabs. Paramount+ is ready to rock — and they've released over 125 episodes of musical performances to its streaming service to prove it. Coming at you from the other Viacom-owned properties like MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads, many of the episodes haven't been seen since they first aired. And with a list of performances that includes the likes of Elton John, Neil Young, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, and even Nirvana's now-iconic November 1993 performance — which aired a mere seven months before the singer Kurt Cobain died — the list is a treasure trove for any music fan.

According to a press release from the streamer, more than 70 of the episodes have not been available to the public for more than 20 years. And, considering how much purging of content Paramount Global has done over the years, it's a relief to see that some things still get saved in the digital age.

Paramount+ has opened up its vault of classic MTV Unplugged episodes. Over 50 episodes of the live performance series have been added to the streamer, alongside dozens more episodes of VH1 Storytellers and CMT Crossroads.

Physical production is getting underway this week on The Death Of Robin Hood, a film that secured distribution backing at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Some nine months on, cameras are being set up, and filming is taking place in Northern Ireland.

Jodie Comer and Hugh Jackman lead the cast of the movie, and it’s being written and directed by Michael Sarnoski. He previously brought to the screen the terrific Nicolas Cage-headlined Pig, and – more recently – steered A Quiet Place: Day One.

A lost song from Tina Turner’s 1984 album Private Dancer has been found. The track, “Hot for You, Baby,” premiered this morning on the BBC’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show, marking its first public play.

The song was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood and produced by John Grant. It was written by Australian musicians George Young and Harry Vanda, and had previously been recorded by Scottish-Australian singer John Paul Young, however his version flew under the radar when it was released in 1979.

Alfa Anderson, an early lead vocalist for Chic who sang on hits including “Good Times” and “Le Freak,” died on Dec. 17 at age 78. Chic bandmate Nile Rodgers confirmed the news.

“Thank you for everything,” Rodgers wrote on Tuesday, Dec. 17 on Instagram, sharing a montage of photos of him and Anderson, and the band. Chic’s “At Last I Am Free,” one of Anderson’s solo features from 1978 sophomore album C’est Chic, soundtracks the tribute. “Rip Alfa Anderson. Chic organization,” it reads over the montage. “Forever loved.” No further details about her death were given.

Alfa Anderson, the one-time lead vocalist of Chic who sang on classic disco songs including “Le Freak,” “Good Times,” and “I Want Your Love,” has died at the age of 78.

Nile Rodgers, the leader of Chic, shared news of Anderson’s passing on social media on Saturday. A cause of death was not disclosed.

After getting her start as a backing vocalist for artists such as Dionne Warwick and Roy Buchanan and vocal work on The Wiz soundtrack, Anderson auditioned for a role in Chic in 1977. She assumed co-lead vocalist following the departure of Norma Jean Wright in 1978 and went on to sing on some of the group’s biggest solo hits. She was also featured on Chic’s collaborations with artists including Sister Sledge (“We Are Family”), Diana Ross (Diana), and Johnny Mathis (I Love My Lady).

Following Chic’s initial disbandment in 1983, Anderson toured internationally with Luther Vandross.

2024 has been a pretty up and down year for horror so far. Movies like Longlegs have received great reviews, along with some other well-received hits such as Speak No Evil and Smile 2 For some of these titles, critical praise has been matched with box office success. Longlegs, for instance, is the no. 3 horror film of the year, making over $74 million domestically. Two franchise horror films also managed to cross the $100 million at the domestic box office, including Alien: Romulus and A Quiet Place: Day One.

On the other hand, a series of horror films have underperformed their high expectations. Abigail, while well-reviewed, struggled to make a huge impact at the box office, making only $42.7 million. This was not likely enough to recoup its estimated $28 million budget. A similar fate was true for The First Omen, another film whose critical reviews were far more fruitful than its ticket sales.

Michael Bublé is set to host the 2025 Juno Awards in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada, organizers said Friday.

The Canadian crooner, who is currently a coach on The Voice, will host the Junos for the third time on March 30. “I could not be happier bringing the Juno Awards home to Vancouver for 2025. The Junos are such an important part of the Canadian music industry and being able to host for the second time in my hometown makes this night mean even more to me. I’m excited to be surrounded by all the amazing talent we have from coast to coast this March,” Bublé, who has earned 15 Junos and five Grammys over his celebrated career, said in a statement.

In 2017, Bublé withdrew from hosting duties for the Brit Awards and the Juno Awards to care for his 3-year-old son after he was diagnosed with cancer. His son has since been in remission.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the 26 nominees for induction at the June 12, 2025, awards gala in New York City. Songwriters are eligible 20 years after their first significant commercial release of a song. Update: A second trailer for the Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans-starring festive action film Red One has emerged. The pair star as bounty hunters on a mission to rescue a kidnapped Santa Claus, with the latter played by Jk Simmons. Jake Kasdan, of Jumanji reboot fame, directs.

Here’s the second trailer for Red One, due in US cinemas on the 15th November. It has a CGI polar bear in it, among other visual effects.

Paquin Entertainment Group, the producer and talent agency repping the likes of Michael Bublé and Bryan Adams, has hired an ex-Cineflix exec as its first Chief Operating Officer.

Andrew Akman took on the newly-created role last week and will help produce film and TV, exhibitions and large-scale events. Paquin said it is “currently in development on several talent-driven projects for broadcasters, streaming platforms, and live audiences.”

Akman is a vet of the TV space, having held senior roles including COO at Cineflix Media, Shaw Media, Canwest Media and Alliance Atlantis Communications, while he co-founded TV production company Husk Media.

The hire comes with Paquin looking to leverage more of its IP and artists into film, TV and docs. It reps the likes of Michael Bublé, Diana Krall, Nickelback, Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, Serena Ryder, and Christine and the Queens.

According to Variety, the recordings were authorized by Marriott’s third wife, Toni Marriott, to whom the rock icon was married to for only two years before he tragically died in a fire at age 44 in 1991.

Steve’s daughter Mollie, on behalf of her siblings, has issued a statement decrying the potential release of these AI-generated recordings. During a show with his cover band The Coverups, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong invited Courtney Love to the stage to perform Cheap Trick’s “Surrender” and “He’s a Whore” and Tom Petty’s “Even the Losers.”

The concert took place at The Garage in London on Tuesday, where Armstrong and his band covered The Ramones, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, The Strokes, The Clash, and Buzzcocks. The 2024 induction ceremony and Awards Gala is set for Thursday, June 13, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Additional special award honorees will be announced soon.

“I’ve said it before, but the music industry does not exist without songwriters delivering great songs first,” Shof Chairman Nile Rodgers said in a statement that this year’s inductees represent “not just iconic songs but also diversity and unity across genres, ethnicity and gender.” He added that this year’s songwriters “have enriched our lives and literally enriched music and the lives of billions of listeners all over the world.”
