Masters Of The Universe Star Camila Mendes Suits-Up As Teela In New BTS Photos
Image
Yesterday, Masters of the Universe star Nicholas Galitzine announced that the live-action movie had officially wrapped principal photography with a first look at his He-Man costume, and co-star Camila Mendes has now followed suit with some behind-the-scenes photos of her own.

The Riverdale star took to Instagram to post several photos from her time working on the project, and appears in one shot in her Teela outfit as she chows down on a cheeseburger.

"That’s a wrap on Motu," Mendes writes. "Getting to play Teela has been one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of my career. The week of suspense between my final audition and getting the part was excruciating to say the least. but here I am almost a year later, a full-blown gym bro and converted redhead, wrapping up 7 incredible months of living like a London girl, eating like an athlete, and running around as a warrior woman!

Masters Of The Universe Set Photos Feature First Look At Camila Mendes In Costume As Teela
Image
As filming on the live-action Masters of the Universe movie continues in London, these latest photos and a video from the set give us a first glimpse of Camila Mendes in full costume as Teela.

The Riverdale star was spotted shooting several scenes (including an action sequence) with Nicholas Galitzine, who is in Prince Adam mode here. We assume Teela comes to Earth to bring the amnesiac Adam back to his home world of Eternia, where he will fulfil his destiny as He-Man.

Teela has been a permanent fixture of the Motu franchise ever since those first mini-comics, and is usually depicted as Prince Adam's protector and He-Man's right-hand woman/love-interest.

The character was played by Chelsea Field in the previous live-action movie, and was voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar in Netflix's Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series before being replaced by Melissa Benoist.

Dust Devil (1992) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
A little bit ago, I discussed Hardware from 1990 and how it became a little lost to time. Today’s movie is no different as it’s pretty hard to come by and actually has three different versions to look out for. To that end, Richard Stanley can definitely be considered the best horror director you never saw. While he had a resurgence with the Nic Cage cosmic Lovecraft horror Color Out of Space, the rest of his catalogue is either a wonderful hot mess like his incomplete version of The Island of Dr. Moreau where he was fired or his first two movies that just don’t get talked about enough. While Hardware is loosely based on a comic, Dust Devil is what I would call a wholly original South African supernatural slasher flick. It has lore based in both legend and the creative mind of its writer/director Richard...

Dolph Lundgren Addresses Potential Return as He-Man in Masters of the Universe Sequel
Image
Dolph Lundgren just might reprise the role of He-Man in a legacy sequel if given the chance, but it would have to be with a key change with his costume.

Released in 1987, the Masters of the Universe film starred Lundgren as a live-action incarnation of the bulky superhero He-Man. As the movie was not an immediate success, it was not given an official sequel, though it has developed a large cult following in subsequent years. In a new interview with ComicBook.com, Lundgren was asked abou tthe possibility of returning as He-Man if the cult classic film finally gets a sequel. The actor isn't quite so sure, but if he does, he would have to be wearing more "layers" than he was in the original Masters of the Universe.

‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Series Finale: EPs Talk Sasha’s Fate, Importance Of Ending On A “Joyful” Note & The Upcoming ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’
Image
Spoiler Alert: The following story contains details from the series finale of NCIS: New Orleans.

On Monday, NCIS: New Orleans came to the end of its seventh and final season, going out on a celebratory note.

Initially, it seems like the attack came from one of his mother Sasha’s (Callie Thorne) many enemies. It ultimately comes out, though, that Sasha had the attack staged, so that she could take Connor into Witness Protection, without Pride intervening. While it looks for a moment like Connor is going to skip town with his mother,...

Danielle Harris Would Love to Return in The Last Boy Scout 2 or Don't Tell Mom Reboot
Image
Hollywood has been reaching back into the 80s and 90s for ideas, reboots, and sequels for some time, and now Danielle Harris has declared her desire for a sequel to the 1991 buddy action comedy The Last Boy Scout. In fact, it sounds like Harris is a huge fan of 90s cinema, and is hoping that several franchises from that particular decade will be resurrected at some point.

"I mean, God, to be able to come back and do like The Last Boy Scout 2, I mean, if there was just one, that would blow my mind. That's another character that I just loved, but I mean, listen, I got to come back in Halloween and I got to come back now on Roseanne. I think they're doing a remake of Don't Tell Mom [the Babysitter's Dead]. I've heard rumors, not that I've not been asked anything, but that would be interesting. There's not one...

It's about time this reboot got to the shooting stage as a reimagining of Masters of the Universe has been teased for as long as I can remember. Actually, it has really only been a big project in Hollywood since 2007 when rumors were circling that Face-off and Broken Arrow director John Woo was...

NCIS: New Orleans' Scott Bakula: Why I Put My Family First
Wilmer Valderrama, Rocky Carroll, Gary Cole, Katrina Law, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, and Diona Reasonover in NCIS (2003)
For NCIS: New Orelans' Scott Bakula, success came at a price.

After spending a decade making a name for himself in the New York City theater scene, the St. Louis-native moved his family – then-wife Krista Neumann and their daughter Chelsy, now 31 – to Los Angeles, where, in 1988, he booked the lead role in NBC's time-traveling series Quantum Leap.

Being a series regular on a network TV show was great, but that also meant he was "hardly ever home for four and a half seasons," the actor admits in the latest issue of People.

Painful journey back in time with He-Man Masters of the Universe: 25th Anniversary Blu-ray
Remember Masters of the Universe?

It was the 1987 He-Man movie that never really felt like a He-Man movie. Most of the movie took place on Earth, instead of Eternia. He-Man, played by Dolph Lundgren, preferred to use blasters and rifles instead of his sword. Orko was nonexistent along with He-Man’s true identity of Prince Adam. And, Man-at-Arms and Teela were eating chicken.

Masters of the Universe was a live-action fail. Yet, I oddly still loved the movie as a kid. Why? Because it had the name He-Man attached to it. To be blunt, the movie “sucked,” but I didn’t care. The movie heralded new toys and made me think that one-day, perhaps a live-action GI Joe movie would be made (meaning a good one and not the super suit travesty we got shafted with in 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra). I had big dreams.

Now Masters of the Universe...

31 Days Of Horror For October - Day 7: Prison (1988)
I had always been interested in checking out Renny Harlin’s early work, however I just had the most difficult time tracking stuff down (Elm St 4 aside). But as luck would have it, during my rummaging for films, I came across Prison (1988) and I picked it up immediately. The only thing I knew about the film, aside from its director, was that it was also an early film for one Viggo Mortensen.

The story is as you might imagine is set in a prison. This prison housed a prisoner Charles Forsyth, who was executed for a crime he did not commit. The prison gets reopened, with a new Warden Eaton Sharpe (Lane Smith), who was a former guard at the prison, and seems to suffer nightmares over the execution. Once reopened, the angry spirit of Charles is released, and bodies start showing up.

Prison (1988) was an entertaining flick, it had an interesting storyline,...

Dolph Lundgren interview: The Expendables, Expendables 2, Dark Angel and 80s power ballads
As The Expendables appears on DVD and Blu-ray, Duncan got to meet with the legendary Dolph Lundgren to discuss his back catalogue of classic action movies...

For those of us growing up in the 80s, Dolph Lundgren needs no introduction. However, since the interview took place, I've talked to several people, mostly in their late teens/early twenties, who haven't heard of him and I've become increasingly aware of the generation gap. It was a subject which came up in the interview itself, so in the interest of inclusion, following the interview portion, there's a very quick rundown of the films that encouraged such loyal geek fandom starting some twenty-five years ago.

At the interview, the man himself was incredibly polite, friendly and laughed at every available opportunity, also apologising at the beginning and end of our time for not being able to stand up to shake hands. (He was wired in to microphones.
