Exclusive: Vanished, the indie action thriller from Randy Charach, is leading Glass House Distribution’s Cannes Film Festival slate.

The pic comprises one of three Glasshouse has acquired in a worldwide rights deal with Charach Productions – the other two being David Lynch-inspired horror Texas Nightmare and action drama Clutch. Charach produces all three, with Michael Merino or Jared Cohn attached as directors.

Vanished, which we told you about in February, stars Charach (Hunting Games), Rampage Jackson (The A-Team), Richard Grieco (21 Jump Street), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Natalie Burn (Black Adam), Al Sapienza (The Sopranos), Laurie Fortier (The Walking Dead), Robert Lasardo (Nip/Tuck), Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2), and James Pratt (Malibu Crush), with Cohn the director. Charach Productions is the producer in partnership with Traplight Pictures.

The film follows Jack (Charach), a high-level defense contractor whose life is thrown into chaos when his daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Randy Charach, the talented actor who plays the lead role of Jack Finley in Jared Cohn’s highly anticipated action-thriller Vanished. The film stars Charach alongside David Chokachi , Richard Grieco , Rampage Jackson , Laurie Fortier and Natalie Burn. Filming was completed last month in Los Angeles and at present the film is currently in post-production aiming for a Cannes 2025 release.

Q: Let’s start with Vanished—what is this film about and your impression reading the script?

Vanished is an intense action-thriller that follows Jack Finley, a high-powered defense contractor whose world is turned upside down when his daughter is kidnapped. The film dives deep into the desperation, strategic mind, and sheer force a father will unleash to protect his family. But beyond the action, it’s also a gripping story about redemption, sacrifice, and the moral complexities of power and corruption.

Marvel has created some of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history, so it was only a matter of time before mockbusters manifested. Whether it's Spider-Man, Captain America, or even Daredevil, filmmakers have long attempted to cash in on these legendary characters; sometimes as blatant knockoffs, other times as affectionate homages, and on occasion as baffling hybrids of both. With their low budgets and borderline intellectual property theft, most mockbusters are easy to dismiss as shameless cash grabs. However, even when a film is just Iron Man with a fraction of the budget, there is usually something to admire; whether it's the creative marketing needed to dodge Disney’s legal team, the bizarre reinventions that arise when filmmakers have not actually seen the movie they are copying, or just the sheer audacity to release something so wildly off base.

The film follows Jack (Randy Charach), a high-level defense contractor whose world is upended when his daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom, forcing him into a relentless fight to bring her home.

Charach Productions produced the film in partnership with Traplight Pictures, having previously teamed up on movies including A Killer in the House and Clutch.

In December, Cohn wrapped Hunt Mode with Nicky Whelan (Hall Pass) and Cam Gigandet (Twilight).

Thankfully, not all movies are Oscar bait and sometimes the best form of escapism is turning on a movie that doesnt require too much attention or analysis. Cheesy movies with clich love stories, nonsensical plots and one-dimensional characters arent always box office gold, but they can become cult classics.

Cheesy movies dont need A-list stars like Jennifer Lawrence or Leonardo DiCaprio, although they can be places to spot such stars before they become household names. All a good cheesy movie needs is a ridiculous story, silly humor, and a few memorable lines for audiences to appreciate the camp, even decades later.

In what sounds like a Hollywood fever dream, Channing Tatum is campaigning for a blockbuster franchise crossover that would truly be out of this world.

Following the news in the 2014 Sony email leak, Tatum confirmed that a crossover of 21 Jump Street and Men in Black, entitled Mib 23, was once in development, and he’s still hoping the ambitious movie gets made.

“There is a project that was written and it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie,” he told ComicBook.com after starring alongside Jonah Hill in the 2012 action comedy 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street (2014).

An adaptation of the 1987-1991 Fox series, they played two arguably youthful-looking cops assigned to go undercover in a high school. Original stars Johnny Depp, Holly Robinson and Peter DeLuise made cameos in the movie, with Richard Grieco and Dustin Nguyen appearing in the sequel.

Perhaps the best thing to come out of Hollywood's never-ending attempts to turn hit TV shows into movies is Phil Lord & Chris Miller's hilarious take on "21 Jump Street" starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Tawny Kitaen, the actress and television star best known for her role in the 1984 comedy Bachelor Party, has passed away. TMZ reports that Kitaen died in Newport Beach, California on Friday, but the coroner has not yet determined a cause of death. Very little else has yet been revealed about the circumstances surrounding her passing. Tawny Kitaen was 59 years old.

Born Julie E. Kitaen on Aug. 5, 1961, Kitaen chose the nickname Tawny for herself at the age of 12. When she was 14, she went to her first rock concert to see Peter Frampton and was able to procure backstage passes. After seeing the VIP treatment Frampton's girlfriend was receiving, Kitaen dreamed of one day having this for herself, inspiring her to pursue a career in show business.

Tawny Kitaen, the model-actress who broke out in 1980s music videos for the band Whitesnake and later appeared in movies like 1984’s “Bachelor Party” and 1986’s “Witchboard,” died Friday at her home in Newport Beach, California. She was 59.

The Orange County coroner’s office confirmed the death of the actress, listed as Tawny Finley, but did not provide a cause of death.

Kitaen’s two daughters, Wynter and Raine, confirmed the tragic news on Instagram. “We are heartbroken and saddened to announce the death of our mom. It's the first time that Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Lisa Whelchel, and Nancy McKeon have all been on screen together since 1988. When a films starts with a simple narrative explaining the movie or what is about to happen, with the text showing on screen, I always have a quick smile. There’s some classic horror that has started this way and I think I mostly remember it from the begining of The Blair Witch Project. Because of that my hopes are always a little higher when I see this, for some reason I forget the dozens, possibly hundreds of movies that I’ve seen with this opening that haven’t been so great. As you’ve probably guessed, Clinton Road starts this way.

One of my favourite things to do when a movie isn’t exactly holding my interest is play “B-movie economics”. I try and puzzle out how something gets funded inside the fictional world, and this one has a doozy. Our “villain”, a guy who had his face carved off by Middle Eastern terrorists when in the army over there, has built a huge underground concrete base with multiple rooms, all sorts of remote controlled traps, a huge control room with multiple TV feeds, etc. So, how did this guy pay for all this? Did he get an insurance payout from the Iraqi government? What did he tell the contractors who came to fit all his wiring and special death traps? Where did he pick up his two sidekicks?

“Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!” is named after one of the great movies of the 60s, “Faster, Pussycat!

I've got a crazy trailer for a new horror thriller called Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!. I don't know if you're familiar with the filmmaker Russ Meyer, from the 60s and 70s, but it totally seems like this is the kind of movie he would have made in the style of Saw. Meyer is behind such films as Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Common Law Cabin, Finders Keepers, Lovers Weepers!, Vixen, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and more. They are all very grindhouse-style type movies.

Anyway, if you're familiar with his stuff, then Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill! is a film you'll probably enjoy. Here's the synopsis:

On Halloween an all girl rock-n-roll band called “Kill Pussy Kill” ventures out to play their biggest show to date. However, before hitting the road they manage to unwittingly upset a man. Unfortunately, this man turns out to be an evil genius dead set on revenge.
