Daniel Attias won the DGA's 2009 best drama directing award for
The Wire (2002) (episode:
"Transitions"). He has also been nominated three other times in that category for
episodes of The Sopranos (1999)
("46 Long"),
Six Feet Under (2001) ("Back
to the Garden"), and "Homeland" (2015)_ ("13 Hours in Islamabad:). In both 2006 and 2008, he was nominated for Emmy
Awards for comedy directing for
Entourage (2004) (episodes: "Oh
Mandy," and "No Cannes Do").
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley, he studied acting in Los Angeles for three years before enrolling at UCLA where he received an MFA in film production. He is a graduate of the DGA's Assistant Directors Training Program and has worked as an assistant director for Steven Spielberg, Francis Coppola, Wim Wenders and Samuel Fuller.
