Educated at Columbia University in New York, Leon Fromkess entered the film industry as a financial specialist for Columbia Pictures in 1929. He joined Monogram Pictures in 1938 as Treasurer, and several years later left Monogram to join PRC as vice president and general manager in charge of production. During his PRC period he worked closely with director Edgar G. Ulmer, and was responsible for many of Ulmer's now-classic pictures done at the studio. In the 1950s he entered the television field as a producer. One of his most successful series was Fury (1955), with Peter Graves and Bobby Diamond.
