In April 2020, Colombia Pictures announced a live-action movie adaptation of the famous manga One Punch Man. However, there are concerns about how well the One Punch Man live-action movie will approach the source material, as many anime adaptations often fail to capture the spirit of the originals. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, who previously worked on the Jumanji films and Venom, originally signed on as writers, with Marvel Studios’ founder Avi Arad set to produce. In 2022, Justin Lin, most notably known for his work in The Fast and Furious franchise, was revealed as the One Punch Man movie’s director.
However, a recent One Punch Man movie update reported that Dan Harmon had been hired to rewrite the script, alongside Heather Anne Campbell. Not much is currently known about the One Punch Man movie, but its current rewrites suggest a new approach to the film’s original premise. Furthermore, while there are many fancasts,...

It has been given a digital release as of today, December 10th – but if you’re holding out for the physical media release, you don’t have long to wait. Venom: The Last Dance will be reaching 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 21st, and copies are available for pre-order on Amazon!

From has been a hit out of the gate for MGM+. The sci-fi drama is the most viewed series in the history of the premium network, and has a 96 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
“We are thrilled by the support of our fans and our partners at MGM+ and are so excited to share the next chapter of our story with our FROMily. By the end of season 3, our characters will begin to understand why they are trapped in From Town… but will understanding help them to escape? And if so, how?” said Pinkner.
Perrineau plays Boyd Stevens, the sheriff whose Draconian rules have held the fragile town together, even as he searches for a way to escape this seemingly inescapable nightmare.
“With the culmination of Season Three we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In Season Four, a new journey begins. The question is whether it will lead our characters home, or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare,” said Griffin. “We are so grateful to our partners at MGM+ to be able to continue this tale and beyond excited to share the news with our amazing FROMily.”
Added Bender: “Congratulations and gratitude to Michael Wright and MGM+ for the incredible support. And to our brilliant family of actors and our gifted team in Nova Scotia. We’re looking forward to telling more of the tale.”
From is an Amazon MGM Studios production. Jeff Pinkner, John Griffin and Jack Bender serve as executive producers alongside Perrineau, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Scott Rosenberg from Midnight Radio, Anthony and Joe Russo and Mike Larocca from Agbo, and Lindsay Dunn. Midnight Radio’s Adrienne Erickson serves as co-executive producer. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

In recent years, Hollywood has appeared to be increasingly interested in adapting the most popular Anime series from different periods into live-action films. Whether they are original creations or based on manga, novels, or video games, Japanese animated TV shows and movies have exponentially grown in popularity in the West. Their expansion certainly exerts a powerful influence on international studios, who would not waste such an interesting opportunity.
However, anime's peculiar drawing style, heavily inspired by the work of Osamu Tezuka, precise attention to detail, and complex and nuanced storylines sometimes make them the worst material to adapt as a live-action. From Once Piece to Avatar: The Last Airbender, these ambitious live-action projects occasionally struggle to navigate the challenges of meeting fans' high expectations; the ability to portray them on TV or the big screen is a craft to nurture and refine.

Star Tom Hardy had previously teased that the movie could end up being rated R, pointing to the success of the Deadpool films as proof that R-rated Marvel adaptations can be successful, but obviously that wasn’t to be. Now the film, titled Venom: The Last Dance, is aiming for an October 25th theatrical release – and with that date just one month away, the final trailer has just arrived online! You can watch it in the embed above.
The first Venom was scripted by Jeff Pinker, Scott Rosenberg, and Kelly Marcel. Ruben Fleischer directed that film, which made $856 million. But then Fleischer turned his focus to making Zombieland: Double Tap and Uncharted – so Andy Serkis took over as director on Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Recently, Rotten Tomatoes introduced the new "Verified Hot" label to their audience-polled Popcornmeter. Should a film's audience score rank above 90%, they will receive a new badge of honor. Yes, despite the website's consistent fallibility to review bombing, on top of their already flawed and frequently-gamed system, the widely-revered review aggregate is still making steps to gain more credibility, yet all it's doing is further dividing critics and audiences. This heated topic of discourse continues to oscillate between "critics don't know how to have fun" to "audiences are too stupid to be trusted," to the point that it has become a staple in the alt-right culture war.
It goes without saying that critics and audiences perceive films differently, but the nuances that explain why are far from black and white. In fact, there's a lot that can be deciphered from a large gap in critics and audience scores, and it isn't...

While Scream set off a new slasher cycle in the late 1990s, MGM delivered something different with Disturbing Behavior. A fitting choice considering the film’s themes. Ultimately, though, this ‘98 teen chiller landed a bit more in the science-fiction bin than straight, undiluted horror; one by one, a town’s troubled youths endure sinister, personality-warping makeovers to make them better fit into society. That sort of genre pitch, when coupled with up-and-coming young actors like Katie Holmes and James Marsden, should have been enough to draw in the target demo. Yet the studio and the director, David Nutter, didn’t see eye to eye on things, resulting in one of the most troubled horror productions of that decade.
Scott Rosenberg’s screenplay for Disturbing Behavior was written a few years before Scream was released, and it was nearly produced by New Line Cinema before plans changed. Luckily for Rosenberg, he...

Mel Gibson goes back behind the camera for Flight Risk, with Mark Wahlberg starring. Here’s the first trailer.
Few could accuse Mel Gibson of playing it safe when it comes to picking his directorial projects, from his debut Man Without A Face to the Oscar-winning Braveheart and the terrific Apocalypto to his last feature to date, war drama Hacksaw Ridge.
Mel Gibson moves closer to blockbuster territory with plane based thriller Flight Risk. The synopsis reads as follows:
“Ya’ll need a pilot?” In this high-stakes suspense thriller, Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace) to a trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem.

A couple days ago, Sony Pictures unveiled a trailer for their Marvel Comics adaptation Venom: The Last Dance, giving us our first look at the film that’s meant to wrap up the Venom series and is aiming for an October 25th theatrical release. Now Forbes has published an interview with star Tom Hardy in which he talks about ending the series with a bang – and teased that this movie might have an R rating. (The previous two Venom movies were rated PG-13.)
Hardy told Forbes, “This one – I’m so, so excited about because we’ve gone much bigger. If the mission statement is commercial, blockbuster, action and superhero movie, how can we imbue a sense of something that’s fun and different? What’s going to entice people that they have a memory, they have a moment, they have an event? This comes from us who are really,...

Casting the right actor as Fred Jones for Netflix's live-action Scooby-Doo show is crucial for setting the tone of the series. The portrayal of Fred as either intelligent, bossy, or ignorant will influence fans' expectations for the entire show. Actors like Jacob Elordi, Charles Melton, and Joe Keery are potential fits for the role.
Not much is known about Netflix's upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo show, but casting the right actor to play Fred Jones will be vital. There have been plenty of different Scooby-Doo shows and movies since the characters first appeared in 1967, but Netflix's new series will be the first live-action show. This makes casting even more important than usual, since fans will likely form opinions about the entire show based on the actors.
Fred is the charismatic leader of the Mystery Gang. He's usually the one driving the Mystery Machine, and he makes a lot of the gang's key decisions.

Scooby-Doo could be the perfect replacement for Wednesday with its iconic characters and teenage story potential. The key to success lies in maintaining a dark and spooky tone similar to Wednesday's ambiance. Wednesday's popularity may not last forever, making way for Netflix's Scooby-Doo to step in as a fitting successor.
In 2022, Wednesday impressed audiences with its talented cast and spooky ambiance, and though anticipation is high for the second season, it seems that Netflix is already planning its best Wednesday replacement in its new live-action Scooby-Doo series. It was recently reported by Variety that Netflix is potentially signing on to produce a live-action Scooby-Doo television series with Berlanti Productions on board, and writers Josh Applebaum and Scott Rosenberg taking the helm on the scripts. This is far from the first live-action adaptation of the beloved cartoon, however, Netflix may have something truly exciting on their hands.

“And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” This is undoubtedly one of the most famous lines in the history of animated television and practically everyone will recognize it as the most famous phrase from the Scooby-Doo series. The phrase usually signified the end of a case when Scooby and the gang would explain the solution and prove that the guy they caught in the costume red-handed did it. The villain would then utter these words, cursing his ill-fated encounter with Mystery Inc., without which his plan would have succeeded, as it was otherwise perfect.
While the Scooby-Doo series is primarily an animated work, there have been live-action and CGI adaptations of the series as well. And while the CGI Scoob! movie was better received than the live-action movies, no adaptation has managed to come even close to the charm of the original animated series,...

Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc gang are heading back to the small screen in a live action series for Netflix, here are the details.
Jinkies: Netflix has ordered a live action Scooby Doo television series. No casting details have been confirmed, but we do know (thanks to a Deadline report) that it will be written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg – the same Scott Rosenberg who penned Con Air, one of the greatest action films of the 1990s.
This isn’t, of course, the first time Hanna Barbera’s cartoon has been reworked in live-action. Long before James Gunn took creative control of the DC Extended Universe, he was a prolific screenwriter, and arguably his most successful films, at the box office at least, were 2002’s Scooby Doo and 2004’s Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Mystery Inc. rides again! Variety is reporting that the long-running "Scooby-Doo" franchise may be making a leap back to the live-action world, this time courtesy of Netflix. Sources tell the outlet that, unlike past versions of the Hanna-Barbera-created franchise, the new series won't be a comedic mystery but a one-hour drama series. Warner Bros. Television, which has been responsible for other dark teen-centric Netflix shows like "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Dead Boy Detectives," is set to produce.

Netflix is developing a live-action Scooby-Doo series that will be an update of the classic cartoon. The show will be produced by Greg Berlanti's company and written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg. Previously, Appelbaum and Rosenberg worked with Netflix on Cowboy Bebop, while Berlanti is best known for producing The CW's Arrowverse.
A live-action Scooby-Doo series is in development at Netflix. Focusing on a mystery-solving gang of teenagers and their talking canine, Scooby-Doo, the franchise began all the way back 1969 with the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?. Since then, the property has continued across countless television shows, animated movies, and live-action features. Most recently, a more adult incarnation, Velma, has been airing on Max, with season 2 releasing on April 25.
Per Deadline, a new reimagining of the classic cartoon is coming to Netflix. This live-action Scooby-Doo series will be produced by longtime Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions for Warner Bros. Television.
