President Donald Trump continues to insist people talk about anything other than Jeffrey Epstein, and his files that reportedly name Trump multiple times, and Jimmy Fallon is pretty sure he knows why. According to the NBC host, this summer was supposed to cover an entirely different topic for the president.
To kick off his monologue on Thursday night, Fallon highlighted reporting from the Wall Street Journal this week, indicating that the president was made aware of his presence in the Epstein files back in May. According to Fallon, “Trump hasn’t felt this panic since he accidentally ate an Impossible Burger.”
As more reporting has come out, Trump has encouraged his allies to not talk about it, and instead accuse former president Obama of crimes.
Even so, the Epstein files and the Trump administration’s handling of them continue to dominate the news, making the president more and more angry.

Good Luck Fuck Face, Oli Beale’s directorial debut, simmers with the quiet menace of a revenge plot against a common enemy; however, there is a much more devious plan at play. What begins as a darkly humorous debate, two friends brainstorming the most ruinous sentence imaginable to put out on the internet for the world to see, slowly reveals itself as something far more insidious. A meticulously laid trap, where words aren’t just hypothetical weapons but the very means of destruction. The film’s genius lies in its patient deception, lulling the audience into the rhythm of a witty, fevered conversation before pulling the rug out with surgical precision. Beale, an advertising writer turned filmmaker, understands the power of economy. Good Luck Fuck Face’s visual language—unfussy wide shots and intimate close-ups—mirrors the banality of everyday gossip, making its eventual pivot all the more jarring and the moment of revenge,...

“Ground Control to Major Tom” might be a Bowie classic — but in my imagination, it’s also what the Apollo 11 crew said when they set foot on the moon. Did that actually happen? Probably not. But is there definitive proof they didn’t say it? Exactly.
What we do know is this: on July 20, 1969, nearly 55 years ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made history, walking on the moon for the first time.

The city of Rimini is known for its famous son, Federico Fellini, the genius director behind the likes of La Dolce Vita and Nights of Cabiria, but it’s now home to the Italian Global Series Festival (Igsf) too. The first edition of the fest has been taking place this week, bringing the likes of The Assassins, Sandokan and Bookish to the sunny seaside locale.

It’s been a quiet year for Ryan Gosling thus far after starring in Barbie and The Fall Guy in 2023 and 2024, but another of the star’s more recent films just got an exciting streaming update. Gosling stars alongside Jason Clarke and Kyle Chandler in First Man, the 2018 space biopic detailing the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong and his mission to the Moon on July 20, 1969. First Man had previously not been streaming anywhere, but Prime Video has announced that the film is now streaming for free with ads on the platform. First Man, which also stars Claire Foy, grossed $105 million at the box office against a $59 million budget, and it even won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects. It also holds scores of 87% from critics and 68% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Every time the Og Simpsons fandom hears another “fun” little factoid about how long ago the Golden Age really was, they feel a little bit more like Abe wondering if what they’re “with” isn’t “it.”
Back in May, Simpsons fans celebrated the 30th anniversary of “Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One),” a landmark moment in television when seemingly the entire world had their own theories on what really happened to Springfield’s most ruthless megalomaniac. Vegas casinos took odds on the outcome, to be unveiled four months later in the Season Seven opening. Matt Groening gave his artists multiple endings to animate in order to prevent the possibility of a leak. John Walsh hosted a very special America’s Most Wanted parody called Springfield’s Most Wanted, interviewing actual police officers to help with the detective work.
For one glorious summer in 1995, the entire entertainment industry had Simpsons-mania.

This post contains spoilers for "For All Mankind."
After astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped foot on the Moon as a part of the Apollo 11 mission, a stainless steel commemorative plaque was left on the lunar surface. The inscription on the plaque reads: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969, A.D. We came in peace for all mankind." These permanent plaques, which became a staple in subsequent lunar missions (up until Apollo 17), are meant to be expressions of peace and goodwill on behalf of humanity as a whole. But what would happen if history was to be altered, leading to a global space war that never ended? This is the essential question put forward by the Apple TV+ show "For All Mankind," which reimagines the moon landing from an alternate history perspective (one that is explored in vivid detail).

Expect Johnny and Sue Storm to feel a bit updated when “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits theaters.
With a little over three months to go before the movie premieres, stars Joseph Quinn and Vanessa Kirby broke down how they updated their classic characters. For Quinn, it was about finding what made him interesting to a modern audience.
“Myself and [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally,” he told Entertainment Weekly on Thursday. “He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don’t think so. This version of Johnny is less callous with other people’s feelings.”
Meanwhile, when Kirby took on the Invisible Woman, she went into it looking to figure out how to make her feel like less of a “doormat” than if she was actually in the 1960s.

Marvel's first family is taking flight on the big screen. Sorry, Avengers, but The Fantastic Four are, perhaps, the comic book company's most iconic and beloved superhero families. And Disney is clearly hoping that Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will give a blast of cosmic energy to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. With stars like Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach playing the aforementioned parts, the future certainly looks hopeful and chock-a-block with talent.
And in a new cover story from Entertainment Weekly, it sounds like Marvel's first family is going to reach new heights of nostalgia and timeline reinvention when they hit theaters on July 25, 2025. In fact, the retro-futuristic tale is set to plot the intersection of "where Kirby meets Kubrick," as director Matt Shakman put it. The Fantastic Four Director And Cast Reveal Some Huge Changes To The Human Torch And Invisible Woman
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will finally bring Marvel's First Family into the MCU. However, this version of the team won't call Earth-616 home; instead, Marvel Studios is taking full advantage of the Multiverse Saga's premise to tell their story in an alternate reality 1960s New York.
The key difference between the two worlds? Well, this 1960s had genius inventor Reed Richards to make all those bold ideas people had during that period a reality.
"We knew that we'd be on another Earth, so we had a chance to reinvent what the '60s looked like," director Matt Shakman tells Entertainment Weekly. "I was really interested in imagining the Fantastic Four being astronauts. Instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin going to the moon, what if it was Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben who were really the first to go into outer space, the first to push those boundaries?"

Director Matt Shakman explained how The Fantastic Four: First Steps' self-contained universe is unique from other MCU realities. Heavily inspired by the aesthetic of 60s science-fiction movies, First Steps will be as overwhelmingly retro-futuristic as the Fantastic Four comics.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a homage to 60s space movies, especially Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. "I really wanted it to feel like it was made in 1965, the way Stanley Kubrick would have made it," director Matt Shakman told Empire. "Within reason." Fans are in for a visual treat, as many of the scenes in First Steps will feature practical props and sets; Shakman confirmed the spaceship depicted in the trailer was filmed with a 14-foot-tall miniature. "[We] used old lenses, and taken an approach to filmmaking that feels more of the time," he added. "Of course, we still have a lot of CG."

Shakman brought this subject up in an interview with Empire Online, avouching that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is "[its] own universe," which he professed is wonderful and liberating. He went on to further note, "There's really no [other] superheroes. There's no Easter eggs. There's no running into Iron Man or whatever. They're it, in this universe. I love the interconnected Marvel Universe, but we get to do something so new and so different. Eventually this world will meet up with other worlds — but for now this is our own little corner."

There's lots of movement on the superhero front lately. First up: Warner Bros. Discovery has shown off new footage from Superman, its reboot of the iconic franchise starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. In a new clip, Superman crashes into a snowy expanses, beaten and battered, to summon his dog Krypto for help. Hilariously, the dog is being way too playful with the wounded superhero. Watch below:
What could have done that to the Man of Steel? We'll find out when Superman comes out in theaters on July 11.
Just a couple of weeks later, on July 25, Marvel will release Fantastic Four: First Steps, a reboot of an entirely different superhero franchise. This one stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing respectively. ‘Fantastic Four’ Director Says Marvel Film Is Completely Standalone: ‘This Is Our Own Little Corner’
With “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” director Matt Shakman had the chance to make something that stands completely apart from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — and he took it.
“We are our own universe, which is wonderful and liberating,” the filmmaker said of the blockbuster, which takes place in a different reality than the rest of Marvel‘s movies and TV shows, in an interview with Empire out Friday. “There’s really no [other] superheroes. There’s no Easter eggs. There’s no running into Iron Man or whatever. They’re it in this universe. I love the interconnected Marvel Universe, but we get to do something so new and so different.”
“Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which marks Marvel Studios’ first crack at bringing its iconic, first superhero team to life in live-action form, is set in a retro-future reality inspired by the Space Race of the 1950s and ’60s.

There’s no Easter eggs. There’s no running into Iron Man or whatever. They’re it in this universe. I love the interconnected Marvel Universe, but we get to do something so new and so different.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Poster, Stills, And New Multiversal Details Revealed By Matt Shakman
Today is 4/4, and to celebrate, Marvel Studios has released a new poster for this July's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. We'd hoped for a trailer, though that's likely to be saved for closer to Thunderbolts*'s release early next month.
Empire Online has also shared two new stills from the movie showcasing Marvel's First Family in their spacesuits; this is obviously pre-transformation as Ebon Moss-Bachrach is still in Ben Grimm mode, not The Thing.
"This is very much about the spirit of the Space Race," filmmaker Matt Shakman told the site. "It's about JFK and optimism. It’s imagining these four going into space instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin."
"This idea is that they are the most famous people in America, because they’re adventurers, explorers, astronauts - not because they're superheroes. And they come back and they're superheroes on top of it. But primarily they're astronauts, they're family.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be a very different kind of MCU film than some fans are expecting, and it looks quite fantastic. The upcoming debut of Marvel's First Family will be taking cues from the space race of the 1960s, as well as one of the most legendary filmmaking icons the world has ever known.
Courtesy of Empire, brand-new stills from The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been released (below), which evoke a unique vibe that director Matt Shakman says is "very much about the spirit of the Space Race." And here's the thing: it's hard to deny that. The new look at the film confirms this will be unlike anything that has come from the MCU before. This is Marvel meets Apollo 11, but with superheroes at the center of it.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Is A ‘60s Space-Race Movie Shot ‘The Way Kubrick Would Have Made It’
In the very near future, Marvel’s First Family will finally come home. It is just four months until The Fantastic Four: First Steps debuts — the culmination of a long-held desire of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to bring the iconic superhero team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe fold. But in order to realise this future, the film is going back into the past: setting it all in an alternate retro-futurist strand of the multiverse, an alternate mid-20th century where art deco and sci-fi rub shoulders. And, as Empire’s exclusive pics show, before they became the Fantastic Four, the gang — Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) — were simply four extremely clever and capable astronauts, who embarked on a perilous mission into space, and accidentally gained superpowers in the process.

“One more time: animation is a medium, not a genre. Animation is film,” Guillermo del Toro said last year. IndieWire couldn’t agree more, and yet animation — an art form that requires the most precise control of the cinematic medium — is continually disrespected.
Infamously, 2022’s Best Animated Oscars presentation featured several jokes about the nominees that, in the words of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, framed “the five Academy Award nominees for Best Animated Feature as a corporate product for kids that parents must begrudgingly endure.” The directing duo called upon the Academy to do better by animation. And this year’s ceremony largely delivered, with less jokes that belittled animation as kiddy stuff and a sterling speech from del Toro himself for his acclaimed stop-motion feature adaptation of “Pinocchio.”
Pixar and Studio Ghibli tend to spring to mind first when discussing great animation, but there’s a world beyond those two giants.

"The Big Bang Theory" shines a spotlight on nerd culture thanks to hilarious storylines and endearing characters that helped shape the careers of Jim Parsons, Melissa Rauch, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar, just to name a few. While the antics of Sheldon Cooper (Parsons), Howard Wolowitz (Helberg), Raj Koothrappali (Nayyar), and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) already offer plenty of laughs, the show would not be complete without big guest stars.
Many guest stars have solidified their place within the fabric of pop culture, which is important for a show that makes so many references to well-known movies and TV shows. It gives the characters a chance to interact with many of the celebrities that they refer to while making jokes that share details about a person's career.

It might come as a surprise that Netflix has never had its own English-language medical drama. Not that those shows are easier to make than any other genre, but there sure have been enough of them on television over the last several decades that Netflix might have made making one a priority. They didn't, but they are now.
Given a network-level budget, Pulse, starring Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell, will debut on Thursday, April 3. There will be a first-time creator, Zoe Robyn, in charge with the help of veteran showrunner, Carlton Cuse. Cuse might be best known for his work on the iconic series Lost.
The plot line involves a hospital in Miami that is beginning to deal with the effects of a hurricane hitting the area. The issue is that there is drama among the doctors. Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips, played by Woodell, has been suspended, and third-year resident Dr.

From the start, director Bernard MacMahon and writer and producer Allison McGourty knew there would be obstacles involved in making a documentary about Led Zeppelin, especially one done with the band’s cooperation. This is a group that has famously and diligently guarded its legacy, always maintaining a sense of mystique and rebuffing many earlier pitches for a movie like that. “Our sense was that there was absolutely no intention of ever doing a Zeppelin film,” MacMahon says.

T-Mobile just dialed back its connection to celebrities in the Super Bowl.
The telecommunications giant ran a 60-second commercial in the first quarter during Fox’s broadcast of Super Bowl Lix that was bereft of the marketer’s usual touches. Rather than tap actor Bradley Cooper and his mother, the song-and-dance antics of Zach Braff and Donad Faison, or cameos from John Travolta, Dolly Parton or Jason Momoa, as it has for the past two years, T-Mobile talked up technology.
T-Mobile’s new offering, now rolling out to the public, relies on a partnership with Elon Musk’s Starlink to offer satellite connections for so-called “dead zones” across the U.S. The company says the service makes it possible to get text messages now, with pictures, data and voice calls soon to come — even if traditional cell reception is not available in a specific area. Tom Cruise, a man who seems to have spent more time in the air than on the ground, has achieved yet another milestone. He’s known for his dedication to performing cinema’s most death-defying stunts, and he’s mostly airborne during them. Just when we thought his accomplishments could not get any loftier, Cruise got recognition from one of the leading aviation organizations in the world.
On Feb. 8, Tom Cruise was awarded the Grand Medaille of the Aero-Club de France, the oldest and most prestigious aeronautical institution in the world. The award, presented by the institution’s president, Catherine Maunoury, recognizes Cruise “for his significant contribution to the history of aviation and inspiring future pilots” and it is a testament to his passion for flight and his ability to stun the entire world with his aerial exploits.

At this point in his career, it’s almost odd to think of Tom Cruise on the ground. And even when he is, he’s only doing it so he can run somewhere or leap off of a mountain. In other words, the dude is almost always airborne. And it’s not just Mission: Impossible fans that have recognized it over the years, but now he has been honored by one of the leading aviation organizations in the world.

Marvel’s first family has taken its first steps all over again.
On Tuesday, Marvel debuted the first teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This is the third onscreen incarnation of the iconic superhero family in 20 years but the first within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Watch the trailer below.
Slated to arrive in theaters on July 25, The Fantastic Four: The First Steps is set decades before the events of the Avengers saga in a retro-future version of the 1960s. “It’s a lot about the space race and about voyaging out there,” director Matt Shakman (WandaVision) told Entertainment Weekly during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. “So First Steps is partly to do with that idea about exploration.”

One of the remarkable things about "The Simpsons" was how quickly the show built enough cultural cache to attract big-name guest stars. As early as its first season, Albert Brooks was playing French bowling instructor Jacques in "Life on the Fast Lane." Since then, celebrities have continued to flock to the series, to the extent that the best guest stars on "The Simpsons" include some of the most well-known and influential cultural figures of the last three decades.
From A-list actors such as Michelle Pfeiffer and Dustin Hoffman to musical legends such as Johnny Cash, the show has drawn talent from across the cultural sphere — though Bruce Springsteen still refuses to cameo in "The Simpsons." But even Bruce Springsteen isn't as tough to get as two of producer Al Jean's dream cameos. These two figures are just as prestigious as anyone else who's appeared on "The Simpsons," but there...

Romantic comedy movies are a tough subgenre to nail down these days in terms of quality storytelling, but Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum's space-centric 2024 movie, Fly Me to the Moon, deserves a look from rom-com fans. Coincidentally, Johansson's notable release the year prior also involved elements of space. The actress was part of Wes Anderson's ensemble cast for Asteroid City, an offbeat dramedy that focused on a group attending a convention in the desert get quarantined after an alien visit. She also voiced Elita-1 in 2024's Transformers One, which reunited her with fellow MCU actor Chris Hemsworth.
Technically, Johansson's Fly Me to the Moon co-star Channing Tatum is also an MCU actor now after his cameo appearance as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. While that was surely a career highlight for Tatum, especially since he'd been linked to the role for a decade, 2024 also saw the actor star and produce Blink Twice,...

Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady's 2007 sitcom "The Big Ban Theory" was hotly contested when it was on the air. In the early 2000s, certain kinds of "geek" interests moved from the cultural fringe directly into the mainstream, and previously derided niche interests like "Dungeons & Dragons," comic books, long-form video games, astronomy, trivia, and fantasy in general all became widely accepted as a new entertainment zeitgeist. New kinds of kid-acceptable pop artists came to be canonized. The geek ecosystem was widespread and easily available to any curious takers.
"The Big Bang Theory," however, was lambasted by some viewers for its inaccurate portrayals of modern-day geeks. The characters on "Big Bang" were all scientists or intellectuals, and they all loved "Star Wars," comic books, and RPGs, but they didn't talk the way geeks talked, nor did they organically celebrate geek culture. Prior to the Kelvin universe created by J.J. Abrams in 2009, the "Star Trek" movies were said to operate on an odds-bad, evens-good schedule. Any movie with an odd number in its title (including "Star Trek: The Motion Picture") would invariably disappoint, while those with an even number would be worthy of the franchise's good name. Aside from being way too hard on the cinematic "The Motion Picture", this rule of thumb generally held true through ten films.
Generally.
In 2002, armed with a screenplay from "Gladiator" co-writer John Logan and a fiery villain played by pre-stardom Tom Hardy, "Star Trek: Nemesis" appeared poised, as the tenth film in the franchise, to course correct after the silly, weightless, and cheap-looking "Star Trek: Insurrection." It was to be a "Star Trek" film of consequence, with real danger posed to its core characters and a big adventure built for the big screen. Technically, it was all of these things.

A well-received romantic comedy will begin streaming on Apple TV+. This 2024 release earned $42.2 million at the box office and was directed by Greg Berlanti. It was a completely original movie, failing to draw on any preexisting properties which, in a world of sequels and remakes, was a statement by Apple Original Films, the production company.
Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me To the Moon follows budding couple Kelly Jones and Cole Davis as they attempt to navigate the uncertain world of the Apollo 11 mission. With concerns about a potential failed launch, NASA instructs Johansson's Kelly to help create a faked moon landing. The movie was originally released in theaters on July 8, 2024, and is now poised for an Apple TV+ release on December 6.
Did You Know: Fly Me To the Moon was never intended to be released in theaters. Positive early reviews led Apple to shift its model.
