“The pitfall here is that it’s very hard to answer that question without feeling like I’m offending somebody,” Timothy said during the interview. “So, if I start saying, ‘No, it’s never occurred to me,’ or ‘No, I’ve never seen those movies,’ it just starts to sound like … ugh, let’s say I didn’t ever say that. Angelina Jolie, Doug Liman Team for Spy Thriller ‘The Initiative’ (Exclusive)
Angelina Jolie at an event for Eddington (2025)
Angelina Jolie and Doug Liman, who famously worked together on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, are reteaming for another thriller set in the world of spies.

Coming on top of multi-studio competition, Universal is wrapping up the final deal points to land The Initiative, a hot spy package that sees Jolie attached to star, Liman on board to direct and F. Scott Frazier writing the script.

Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum of Rk Films will produce. The longstanding banner, which in recent years produced Netflix hit Damsel and Sony’s rom-com smash Anyone But You, had previously worked with Jolie on the big-budget Disney fantasy Maleficent movies.

Described as a “Training Day set in the world spycraft,” the story would see Jolie playing a rogue master spy named Bright who works outside the lines (because sometimes you need someone bad to bring down people who are even worse, as the movies...

‘Alien: Earth’ Star Timothy Olyphant Wants Everybody to Relax About Reboots
Image
“This process is similar to my acting,” says Timothy Olyphant. “It’s a little something I call winging it.”

The 57-year-old, a cultural fixture since the late ’90s who’s claimed to have found the absolute “sweet spot” of fame, is discussing his approach to ceramics at his Westside studio. And like that dig at his Hollywood career, he’s being modest. Olyphant majored in Studio Art at USC. If you frequent Los Angeles galleries, you might have spotted him — likely in a cowboy hat. “What a cry for attention,” he jokes. “The guy that’s played a cowboy most of his career wears a cowboy hat.”

After donning Western gear for lead roles in Deadwood, Justified and Fargo, the guy just looks good in a wide brim. But Olyphant, who shares three grown children with his wife of 34 years, is more than just a cowboy and budding ceramicist. He...

Image
James Gunn did not want Chris Hemsworth in Guardians Of Galaxy Vol 3 (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)

Gunn brought his signature style to Guardians Of Galaxy Vol 3, transforming the lesser-known Marvel comic into a blockbuster that delivered three box office hits.

All thanks to his casting choices which played a crucial role in the film’s success, actors like Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista, and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel perfectly embodied the quirky and emotional tone of the movie. But did you know Gunn could have ruined the franchise if he had decided to move forward with his initial plans for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3?

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Gunn initially didn’t want to include Chris Hemsworth Thor despite the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Thor joins Guardians at the end. However, this was only temporary, as Thor departed...

How to Watch Fast and Furious in Actual Order (Most Haven’t Watched 2 of Them)
Image
The Fast and Furious movies have been around for more than 20 years, and they’ve changed a lot since the first film. And if you haven’t watched them yet, then maybe you should start them by following the chronological order. Or you can even follow the release order.

Because if you haven’t watched the films then let us tell you that the story in these movies doesn’t always follow the order in which they were released. Some films happen before others, even if they came out years later. Plus, there are two short films that many fans have never seen, even though they actually help connect the story. So, if you watch them in the right order, follow our chronological list.

Overall, what started as a story about street racing in Los Angeles has become a global action franchise filled with high-speed chases, wild stunts, and big explosions.

Jason Statham and Alan Ritchson's 'Fast X' Team-Up Is an American Streaming Hit
Image
Alan Ritchson is hard at work filming Reacher Season 4 right now, but ahead of its arrival, the star’s biggest box office hit is tearing up streaming charts. Ritchson stars alongside Jason Statham and Vin Diesel in Fast X, the 2023 Fast & Furious movie following Dom Toretto and his family, who are the targets of a brutal vengeance campaign by drug kingpin Hernan Reyes (Jason Momoa). Fast X is streaming on Starz in the United States and on Netflix globally, but it’s quietly crept into the Starz top 10 in America, sitting at #8. The film earned scores of 56% from critics and 84% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $704 million against a $340 million budget, which makes it one of the most expensive movies ever made.

Fast X recruited plenty of stars to bring the 10th Fast & Furious movie to life beyond Ritchson, Statham, and Momoa, though.

The film still performs strongly at the box office in China. It was made on a reported budget between $200 million and $300 million and has crossed the $500 million milestone worldwide. It still has enough juice left to hit the $600 million milestone in the upcoming weeks. The critics said, “Driven by Brad Pitt’s laidback magnetism and sporting a souped-up engine courtesy of Joseph Kosinski’s kinetic direction, F1 The Movie brings vintage cool across the finish line.”

Marvel legend seemingly confirms unlikely MCU sequel is happening
Image
Marvel Studios has produced the most expansive, successful, and beloved franchise in Hollywood history. It's true; the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a force since its introduction with Iron Man in 2008 and it has proceeded to tell some of the most compelling long-form stories across the years that have come since, ensuring that fans just can't get enough of the MCU.

It's incredible, and what makes this particular franchise all the more impressive is that storylines and plot threads can be followed up in just about any installments; they don't even have to be direct sequels. That's the beauty of the MCU in that it is a shared universe that can tell multiple stories across many films. Look no further than this year's Captain America: Brave New World, which carried on storylines that hadn't been explored since 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

But that doesn't negate the need for direct sequels,...

August 16 Is A Great Day For Fast & Furious Fans
Image
August 16 will be a very good day for the Fast & Furious franchise. The sprawling action movie franchise had humble beginnings, kicking off with the 2001 action-crime racing movie The Fast and the Furious. Since then, the movies have featured increasingly high-octane stunts, including cars parachuting from a cargo plane.

The franchise, which will be continuing with the upcoming Fast 11, boasts an ever-expanding star-studded ensemble cast, featuring well-known actors including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Gal Gadot, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Jason Momoa, Sung Kang, Jordana Brewster, and Kurt Russell.

Netflix has now announced via an Instagram post that seven of the Fast & Furious movies will be coming to the streaming platform on August 16. This includes the first three movies as well as Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and the spinoff movie Hobbs & Shaw.

Paul Walker Camped Outside George Lucas’ Ranch But Still Didn’t Get the Star Wars Role He Wanted
Image
In one of the wildest casting “what-ifs” in Star Wars history, it is rumored that the late Fast & Furious star Paul Walker once camped outside George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch in a last-ditch effort to land the role of Anakin Skywalker. It is no secret that Walker was deeply invested in being cast in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, and according to various unconfirmed insider reports from the early 2000s, even staged a bold move by showing up at Lucas’ ranch uninvited, hoping to impress the legendary filmmaker.

Despite his enthusiasm and rising-star status, Walker ultimately lost the role to then-unknown Canadian actor Hayden Christensen. While Walker’s camp-out showed his dedication, Lucas reportedly felt the 26-year-old was too old to play the 19-year-old Jedi Padawan and needed someone who looked closer in age to Natalie Portman’s Padmé Amidala (as per Entertainment Weekly).

Here’s the thing – nobody thought Dolittle would be back in the conversation, let alone climbing Netflix’s Top 10 five years after its release. Celebrity Deathmatch creator sees bright, bloody future for a revival
Marilyn Manson
In what other world could you see Marilyn Manson pull out Charles Manson’s skeleton or Mariah Carrey sing to a pitch that makes Jim Carrey’s head explode other than through glorious claymation? That’s right – it’s Celebrity Deathmatch, which pitted “rivals” against one another to see who came out the survivor. But could the show itself survive in 2025? Creator Eric Fogel thinks so.

Celebrity Deathmatch has been off the air for nearly 20 years – and even longer without Fogel, who wasn’t involved with the revival, which kicked off with Paris Hilton vs. Nicole Richie – yes, the show is very much of its time. And it’s that sort of element that Fogel thinks could make it ripe for a new generation. “That’s the beauty of the show — it’s timeless. These matches are iconic. In his original caption, Diesel wrote, “So much to be excited about… Finally finished the Groot sequel for our friends at Disney… The Arbor King.” That was enough to send fans into full speculation mode. He even added, “You all know the other films in process or upcoming, but something about the continuation of that beloved floral colossus just feels different.”

But not long after posting, Diesel quietly edited the caption and took out the part about Groot, making fans wonder if he spoke too soon, or maybe wasn’t supposed to say anything yet. Marvel hasn’t commented on the situation.

This isn’t the first time...

Vin Diesel Hints at Groot MCU Sequel — Then Deletes It Fast
Image
Vin Diesel might have just given fans a sneak peek at Groot’s next big Marvel adventure, then quickly took it back. The actor, best known in the MCU as the voice of Groot, recently posted an Instagram update teasing a sequel centered on the tree-like fan favorite.

But not long after it went up, he edited the caption and removed all mention of the project, leaving fans both excited and confused.

In the now-altered post, Diesel originally wrote, “So much to be excited about… Finally finished the Groot sequel for our friends at Disney… The Arbor King.” He followed it up by saying, “You all know the other films in process or upcoming, but something about the continuation of that beloved floral colossus just feels different.”

Via Instagram

After some time, Diesel changed the caption, taking out the part about the Groot sequel entirely. No explanation was given, and...

Guardians of the Galaxy Star Teases Imminent MCU Return
Image
One Guardians of the Galaxy star teased an imminent MCU return in a recent Instagram post. The Guardians have not been heard from within the MCU since 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In fact, with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon, no characters from James Gunn's intergalactic trilogy have been confirmed to appear in the new film, making them one of the key exclusions for the Multiversal Marvel team-up.

That does not necessarily mean the star-faring team is done within the super-powered franchise for good; it is just that their next appearance has not been publicly announced. Actors like Karen Gillan have teased their potential MCU return over the last couple of months, leading some to believe they may end up appearing in Doomsday, but Marvel is not willing to officially confirm that.

In a new post on his personal Instagram page, Guardians actor Vin Diesel...

James Gunn Changed The Entire Marvel Cinematic Universe In Just 3 Minutes
Image
He might be taking his time to build the all-new Dcu (with a production Bible to match), but when it came to creating a crucial piece of lore within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Gunn spent about the same amount of time creating it as it would take to read this article. In a recent interview with GQ, the "Superman" director reflected on his time across the street with the other blockbuster superhero franchise and explained how he casually came up with the idea of the Infinity Stones. It turns out that making some of the most powerful objects in the universe isn't as complicated as you might think.

It was in Gunn's first Marvel movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy," that besides dealing with Vin Diesel's line delivery, we finally got a full breakdown of the Infinity Stones that the Mad Titan, Thanos (Josh Brolin), was so obsessed with.

Vin Diesel's $277M Fast & Furious Replacement Action Flick Finds a New Streaming Home
Image
Vin Diesel is one of the highest-grossing action stars, with multiple hit films. Although he's best known for his role as Dominic "Dom" Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, the car racing/ heist film series isn't his only one.

In 2002, just one year after The Fast and the Furious came out, Diesel starred in xXx. The action film, which had Rob Cohen at the helm, featured just as many high-octane, adrenaline-filled moments as Fast & Furious, and kicked off a new franchise. While fans are still waiting for Fast & Furious X: Part 2, they can enjoy the perfect replacement with xXx, which is heading to Peacock on Aug. 1. Its 2005 sequel, xXx: State of the Union, will also be available on the platform on the same day.

In xXx, Diesel plays Xander Cage, a thrill-seeking extreme sports enthusiast, famous for his death-defying stunts. After claiming he can succeed in any scenario,...

Celebrity Deathmatch Creator Wants a Revival, Names Which Matches Could Happen in 2025
Image
While many shows from the past have been making comebacks with reboots and revivals, Celebrity Deathmatch is one that still has yet to make a return to the small screen. If you ask creator Eric Fogel, the time is now, as he believes Celebrity Deathmatch could be bigger than ever before in 2025.

Per People, Fogel reflected on creating Celebrity Deathmatch in a new interview, 28 years after he first pitched the series to MTV. He explained how he grew up as a fan of stop-motion animation, particularly Ray Harryhausen movies, along with other claymation TV shows of the era. As an adult, he started to see the potential in doing something with stop-motion animation, but with more of a rough edge.

"As I grew older, I became aware that there was maybe a market for a more adult animated content, and I thought that stop-motion animation in that adult space felt like unmarked territory,...

‘Celebrity Deathmatch’ Creator Floats Reboot Idea, Potential Matches: “Such A Fertile Environment”
Image
As Y2K nostalgia continues to dominate elements of Hollywood, one pop culture sensation of the era could make a comeback.

Following “a few false starts” over the years, Celebrity Deathmatch creator Eric Fogel recently discussed the possibility of rebooting his claymation series that originally ran on MTV from 1998 to 2002.

“That’s the beauty of the show — it’s timeless. These matches are iconic,” he told People. “You could literally open Google and type a few words, and you’ll get a whole bunch of new Celebrity Deathmatch ideas. It’s an evergreen concept.

“I was just browsing this morning. Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel hate each other. You know, Will Smith and Chris Rock probably still hate each other? Taylor Swift and Kanye West is still a match I’d like to visit in the ring. It feels like there are still some unresolved issues there.”

Fogel continued, “It’s such a fertile,...

F1 North America Box Office Day 28: Surpasses The $150M+ Domestic Haul Of Fast & Furious!
Image
F1 North America Box Office Day 28: Beats Fast & Furious ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Brad Pitt’s F1 has achieved yet another feat at the box office in North America. It has beaten the $150 million+ domestic haul of Fast & Furious to add another feather to its glorious cap. The movie is the least impacted despite facing biggies, including Jurassic World Rebirth, Superman, and now The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It has consistently been in the top five in the domestic box office chart. Keep scrolling for the deets.

Brad Pitt’s film is an ambitious project backed by Apple. If it outperforms Fast & Furious, a franchise movie that built its success over decades, it will validate prestige, realism, and authenticity over the usual franchise formula. This also means that Pitt’s movie is not just a niche motorsport flick but a true mainstream box office force.

How much has...

Hulk Hogan's Hollywood Career Was Nothing Short Of Bizarre
Image
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan -- one of the most popular professional wrestlers of all time by a country mile -- has passed away at the age of 71. Hogan's contributions to sports entertainment were legendary, having been WWE's most popular babyface during its 1980s golden age before helping the company's main competitor, WCW, become a force in the '90s. That said, Hogan might never have joined WCW if his Hollywood career had taken off the way he'd planned, but it was hampered by his tendency to star in some truly bizarre projects.

After some memorable roles in "Rocky III" and "The A-Team," Hogan decided to embark on a career as a leading man. However, his success as a wrestler failed to translate to the box office, with the grappler starring in a string of flops, some of which have become infamous in "so-bad-it's--good" circles. The first of the bunch,...

Planet X? The Arbor King? Vin Diesel posted, then deleted, an update on Groot’s future in the MCU
Vin Diesel
Sometimes, it seems like Vin Diesel uses social media as a way to will projects into existence. For example, he spent years dropping updates on a fourth Riddick film, talking up its potential – and sure enough, a fourth Riddick film went into production last year. Five months ago, he posted updates on various projects, including the new Riddick movie, Fast X2, another xXx sequel, a potential film adaptation of the TV series Kojack, a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots movie, a sequel to the 2015 film The Last Witch Hunter – and a Marvel project that no one else has ever referenced, Planet X. Diesel said, “Some say it’s Marvel’s most anticipated movie, haha. The film where Groot returns to his home planet.” Well, Diesel does provide the voice of the tree creature Groot, so I guess if there is a Groot movie in the works, he would be one...

Reacher's Alan Ritchson Revealed In First Image Of New Action Thriller With Just "4 Lines Of Dialogue"
Image
Reacher star Alan Ritchson looks more intimidating than ever in a new image from his upcoming action thriller movie. Though some audiences will recognize him from projects like Smallville, Blue Mountain State, or The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), it's the hit Prime Video action series adapting the books by Lee Child that made Ritchson a star.

Reacher has been a massive hit for the streamer, with Ritchson taking on the lead role of Jack Reacher, a former MP who travels from town to town solving crimes and helping those in need. The show most recently returned for a well-received season 3, and Reacher season 4 is now confirmed to be on the way.

Following the Reacher premiere in 2022, Ritchson has become a more common sight in the world of movies, too. He recently appeared in Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024), for example, playing the formidable Anders Lassen.

Ritchson also...

Jason Statham’s Apparent “Hardcore” Thriller Is Beating the Odds on Streaming
Image
Jason Statham is known for his hardcore action movies, but one entry was too hardcore even for his filmography. After appearing in several installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, Statham reprised his role for 2019’s Hobbs & Shaw, a spin-off focusing on him and Dwayne Johnson.

Recently, Hobbs & Shaw is doing surprisingly good on streaming services, being available on Peacock in the USA, and other platforms in several Asian and European countries (via FlixPatrol), where it is cracking the top 10 charts. Here is why Statham considers Hobbs & Shaw one of his most hardcore movies.

Why Jason Statham Considers Hobbs & Shaw a Hardcore Movie

Jason Statham debuted in the role of Deckard Shaw during the closing moments of 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. He later reprised the role in subsequent installments before joining Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs in the spin-off movie Hobbs & Shaw.

James Gunn's First Superhero Movie Was A Forgotten Black Comedy With Rainn Wilson
Image
If you knew James Gunn's early work before he conquered the world with a bunch of lovable misfits through Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, there might be a part of you (just a tiny bit) that feels bittersweet about him becoming the big-shot superhero filmmaker and CEO of DC Studios he is today. Don't get me wrong: God bless Gunn for giving us the cinematic versions of Peter (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), and all the quirky creatures in that spectacular universe. He even turned the previously botched "Suicide Squad" into a decent and enjoyable blockbuster that it deserved to be.

But before all that, there was a rare potential in Gunn to become one of the most intriguing and singular directors of his generation. I'm saying that because he started as a trash horror enthusiast at Troma Entertainment,...

Jason Statham’s Mega‑Franchise Is Speeding Onto a New Streaming Platform
Image
When it comes to the extended family of the Fast & Furious film series, there's a whole slate of world-famous stars that make the movies all the more thrilling. One addition to the cast, however, brought a different flavor to the whole experience — especially because of the way he was introduced. Jason Statham (The Beekeeper) joined the franchise in 2013 as Deckard Shaw, and immediately became a fan-favorite due to his ruthless pursuit of Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his gang. Now, you will be able to watch the whole thing unravel once again as Netflix adds the Fast & Furious collection to its library on August 16.

The streamer will add seven of the 11 entries in its catalog, starting with The Fast and the Furious, which premiered all the way back in 2001. The story kicks off with Brian O'Conner (the late Paul Walker) infiltrating an illegal street racing gang in order to...

Guardians Of The Galaxy Director James Gunn Was Bored By A Recurring Marvel Moment
Image
James Gunn is at the center of geek culture right now. Although all eyes are on his newest film, "Superman" (you can read /Film's review here), now that he's launched the brand new Dcu, it is still worth looking back at how his impressive career has led him. Although he directed the delightful horror film "Slither" and the provocative superhero dark comedy "Super," Gunn's blockbuster sensibilities came into the broader public consciousness in 2014 when Marvel Studios released "Guardians of the Galaxy." The film, about a ragtag group of misfits, was at the time considered a gamble for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it was Gunn's signature sensibilities in humor, heart, spectacle, and music that helped turn the titular team into some of the most beloved characters in the entire MCU.

The first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film introduced the original roster of Guardians, which featured Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt...
