Ben Affleck jumped back into action earlier this year with his acclaimed, high-octane new sequel, The Accountant 2, pairing him up with Jon Bernthal for a bigger and badder adventure for Christian Wolff. Next month, though, Hulu subscribers will be able to look back on one of the actor's best films that earned Best Picture honors at the Academy Awards for its story of a CIA agent posing as a film producer in an attempt to rescue six Americans. Released in 2012, the smash hit also paired him up with an ensemble packed with massive stars, from Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston to Bosch's Titus Welliver. The historical political spy thriller Argo is one of several new films coming to the Disney-owned streaming service starting on August 1.

Amazon MGM Studios Sets International Distribution Deal With Sony Pictures
Image
Amazon MGM Studios has found its partner for its ambitious international theatrical exhibition plans in Sony Pictures. The two studios have struck a multiyear distribution deal that will see Sony release films “After the Hunt,” “Mercy,” “Crime 101” and “Project Hail Mary” overseas.

The deal comes as Amazon’s international distribution deal with Warner Bros. Pictures ends. After the aforementioned slate of films has been released, Amazon MGM will release its titles overseas directly, but the deal gives the studio time to set its international plans.

Indeed, Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt” will start the partnership off with an Oct. 10 limited release before going wide on Oct. 17. The psychological drama was given a prime awards season date and stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny. Longtime Guadagnino collaborators Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are also returning as composers.

Then on Jan. 23, 2026, Timur Bekmambetov’s sci-fi thriller “Mercy” will release.

Ana de Armas and Chris Evans' Critically Panned Action Comedy Finds New Life on Streaming Charts Two Years Later

Ana de Armas is currently the talk of Tinseltown thanks to her badass starring role in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina. Likely thanks to this, many eyes are being directed back to some of her other action-adjacent roles, even those that would rather be left forgotten if critical opinion is to be followed. Also starring Marvel alum Chris Evans, the 2023 rom-com Ghosted failed to quite spark a fire inside the stomachs of those who first watched it, earning just 55% from audiences and an abysmal 25% from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Nevertheless, the movie is now a hit on AppleTV+ once again in light of Ballerina dancing onto the big screen, with the film officially the #6 most-streamed movie on the platform as of June 9, 2025. Elsewhere in the top 10, Ghosted is outperforming the likes of Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, Matt Damon and Casey Affleck's The Instigators,...

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor, Shyamalan will be venturing into the romance genre for a new film that will include his typical supernatural tendencies, while also giving fans a different side of the acclaimed filmmaker. Plot details for the upcoming novel that the film is based on reveal a rather different kind of story than some expected, but Shyamalan heads can probably already imagine how a twist or two could turn it on its head.

As reported by People, Shyamalan and Sparks' new book is titled Remain, and will follow a "supernatural love story" between two characters that will be played by Gyllenhaal and Dynevor. The screenplay for the film adaptation is being written by Shyamalan and will closely follow the original novel.

However, the Thor: Love and Thunder star noted that Berry was quick to ease his worries once they started filming the Bart Layton-directed feature.

“Certain people just bring out not just the best in you, but also sort of a comfort level where it feels like it’s a place to explore and it’s a place to examine different ideas and try different things.

American actor Tate Donovan is most well known for voicing the titular character of Disney’s 1997 film, Hercules. But before jumping into the sound recording booth to bring the mythical Greek demigod to life, Donovan donned an aviator jacket and climbed into the cockpit of a B-17 Flying Fortress in the 1990 film Memphis Belle. Tate Donovan plays 1st Lt. Luke Sinclair in Memphis Belle. Sinclair is the co-pilot of the Memphis Belle, and second in command to Captain Dennis Dearborn, played by Matthew Modine. A former lifeguard who dreams of Hollywood fame, Sinclair often butts heads with Dearborn, wishing he could take over command. Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Aaron Is The father Of Sophia baby!
Image
Fans of Days of Our Lives are buzzing with speculation over the latest baby drama brewing in Salem. Something is not adding up with Sophia’s (Madelyn Kientz) pregnancy. Both she and Tate (Leo Howard) claim they only had sex once, using a condom. Okay one and a half if you count the time Tate called out Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) name, but both he and Sophia admit Tate’s slip of the tongue ended things before they got started.

Yes, we all know condoms aren’t 100% effective but it’s a fact the writers-that-be have taken special care to point that out on multiple occasions, which leads many viewers to believe that either a) Sophia is faking her pregnancy as a means of coming in between Tate and Holly or b) Tate is not the baby’s father. But if Tate’s not the father, who is?

Hercules: 10 Best Pop Culture References In Disney's 1997 Animated Classic
Image
Due largely to its comedic approach, Disney’s animated movie Hercules naturally took a number of creative liberties when it comes to Greek mythology. Hercules tells the story of Zeus’s son, gifted with superhuman strength, trying to prove himself a hero worthy of becoming a god. As part of The Disney Renaissance, Hercules combines classic storytelling, bold animation, and Broadway-style musical numbers. Alan Menken, who composed the music for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, created the songs in Hercules which tell the story in a fun, stylized way.

Hercules is known for its comedic tone and whimsical storytelling. Though the story is set in ancient Greece, the movie is filled with modern references. From the very opening narration, the Muses, styled as a contemporary gospel choir, taking over with a “lighten up, dude,” letting the audience know this isn’t a stodgy “Greek tragedy.” The...

Disney Rumor Hints at Live-Action Hercules Movie Copying a Popular Remake Trend
Image
Disney is about to give another villain the spotlight. After the success of Maleficent, the studio is hoping to finally crack its long-gestating Hercules live-action remake by shifting the movie's focus from the title demigod to the villainous Hades.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman (via The DisInsider), Hercules is no longer the star of his forthcoming live-action Disney movie. Instead, the upcoming remake will be told from the perspective of Hades, who was voiced by James Woods in the 1997 animated movie. Similar to the 2014 live-action movie Maleficent, which retold the events of Disney's Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of Angelina Jolie's title fairy, Hercules will retell the story of the 1997 animated film, but from Hades' point of view. This creative shakeup has also resulted in the movie currently being titled Hades.
