Sean “Diddy” Combs Files $100M Defamation Lawsuit Over NBCUniversal Documentary
Image
NBCUniversal’s Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy has sparked a defamation lawsuit from the rap mogul Sean Combs, who says the documentary features false allegations of serial murder, sexual assault and sex trafficking against him.

Combs, in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in New York state court, points to accusations that he murdered Kim Porter, who shares four children with the singer, and had sex with minors, among other claims he’s concerned will bias potential jurors in his trial. He seeks at least $100 million.

“Grossly exploiting the trust of their audience and racing to outdo their competition for the most salacious Diddy exposé,” said Erica Wolff, a lawyer for Combs, in a statement, NBCUniversal, Peacock TV and Ample “maliciously and recklessly broadcast outrageous lies.” She added that the documentary’s producers “seek only to capitalize on the public’s appetite for scandal without any regard for the...

Since Cassie Ventura filed her explosive lawsuit in November 2023, Combs has been the target of dozens of lawsuits from John and Jane Does, as well as plaintiffs using real names, containing similar allegations of being drugged, sexually assaulted and threatened if they were ever to go public with their experiences. Representatives for Combs have strongly denied all accusations against him, and there have been few public interviews from accusers in the time since.

How Diddy And The Menendez Brothers' Have A Connection
Image
Sean "Diddy" Combs' case has opened a lot of suspicious Hollywood connections from Michael Jackson randomly attending his party to some tragic celebrity deaths. Now, he's also being linked with Erik and Lyle Menendez, who are seeking clemency after more than 30 years of incarceration over the murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty.

While the connection isn't as close as Diddy's intimate relationships with his former protgs, it still raises red flags about the entertainment industry. Many believe it isn't a coincidence that the music mogul has this association with the Menendez brothers, who claim to have also been sexually abused by their father. Here's a closer look at Erik and Lyle's Hollywood connections.

Kimora Lee Simmons Tried To Expose Diddy's Abusive Behavior Nearly Two Decades Ago
Image
This article contains sensitive information involving abuse and drugs.

Fashion designer and former reality TV star Kimora Lee Simmons has been trying to tell the world about the dark side of Sean "Diddy" Combs for the past two decades, and now, the world is finally listening. The mother of five told the press about an altercation she had with Diddy in 2004, and it's only now that people are starting to hear her out.

In November 2023, Diddy's former partner of ten years, Cassie Ventura, sued him for $30 million for sexual and physical abuse. The two settled for an undisclosed amount. Nearly a year later, USA Today reported the rapper has over 120 claims coming his way after countless allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, physical and sexual abuse, and transportation to solicit prostitution. Kimora's story is just the cherry on top of a long list of assertions against the disgraced music mogul.

Why the Diddy Party Was Once the Most Coveted Invite
Image
The venue, a downtown Manhattan club on a side street thronged with everyone from movie stars to wannabes hoping to gain entry to the party that was still raging at 3 a.m., had been at capacity since midnight. As the editor-in-chief of Honey, a prominent magazine for urban women, I’d been ushered in long before. Inside, the crowd — a mix of artists, music and media executives, fashion designers, actors, sports stars, entrepreneurs and models — lounged in their respective red leather-clad banquettes. Bursts of shimmery light would periodically illuminate corners of the dim sexy room as leggy waitresses in black barely-there uniforms lit sparklers and delivered bottles of Cristal to various VIPs. The DJ spun hip-hop banger after banger, and I hadn’t left the dance floor for hours. Suddenly, the DJ lowered the music and our host, Puff Daddy (or Diddy or Love or Sean Combs or whatever you...

Within a span of about two years, rap legend Tupac Shakur was shot on two different occasions. While the first assassination attempt only left him seriously wounded, the next one ended up costing him his life, bringing one of the most iconic careers in hip-hop to a tragic end. Of course, the legacy he left behind is still alive in our hearts. After all, how does one forget someone like Tupac Shakur?

A year after the first attempt, he sat down in an interview where he got into heavy detail about the events of the night. While the 5 gunshot wounds and the brutality were obviously excruciatingly painful, what hurt him the most were the lies being spread about him in the media.

“Oh sh*t. Roll me some weed”: Tupac’s First Reaction after Being Shot is as Badass as It Gets
Image
One of the biggest names in the rapper community, Tupac Shakur went through some rough times before his unfortunate passing in 1996. The All Eyez on Me singer faced multiple allegations and near-death scenarios while alive.

One shocking incident involved him facing five bullet wounds in an event that led to the infamous East Coast vs West Coast rivalry in the hip-hop world. On 30 November 1994, the Do for Love singer was shot five times during a robbery at Quad Studios in New York City. However, his somewhat nonchalant response in the aftermath gave fans some chuckles.

The night of the incident: Robbery or Conspiracy?

Tupac Shakur may have been a big name for the music industry, but the singer-rapper was infamous for making it into chaotic headlines. In 1994, fans worldwide were shocked when the rapper was involved in what looked like a robbery gone wrong.

“If I get killed, I want people to have every drop”: Tupac Gave an Interview Right after Being Shot, All Diddy Haters Need to See This

September 13, 1996, was a dark day in the history of humanity. People around the world all echoed the same sentiment: They did it. They really killed Tupac. And this time, he didn’t get to walk it off.

For the longest time, a conspiracy involving the 1995 Times Square shooting made the rapper paranoid about his life being on a short leash. Even the prison interview 2Pac gave after his sexual assault conviction began and ended on the same note – that if he was going to get killed, he wanted the world to know the truth first. Because in his heart, 2Pac believed there was a reason why people were after him:

Because if they can stop me, they can stop 30 more rappers before they even born. But there’s something else I understand now: If we really are saying rap is an art form, then we...

Robin Thicke on Cutting His Hair After First Radio Single, Turning a Bank Robbery Into a Song and Writing for Michael Jackson
Image
Thirty years ago when Robin Thicke was 16, he recorded his first album with R&b star Brian McKnight. But the music wasn’t epic.

“[The label] was willing to put it out, but there wasn’t going to be a lot of promotion money behind it, so I said, ‘Let’s shelve it,’” he recalls.

While still recording his own music, he went on to develop his musicality by writing and producing for others, including Michael Jackson, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jordan Knight, Brandy, Raven-Symoné, 98 Degrees, Marc Anthony, Mya, Color Me Badd, Guy Sebastian, Brownstone, Will Young, Kevon Edmonds, Ron Keating, Chante Moore and others.

But he needed to get back to making music for himself, so the early twentysomething decided he wouldn’t cut his hair until he heard his song on the radio.

“My hair grew down to my shoulders, and I ended up meeting Andre Harrell, who changed...

‘Mary J. Blige’s My Life’ Review: Landmark R&b Album Gets a Documentary Spotlight
Image
Mary J. Blige’s 1992 debut, “What’s the 411?,” was an instant smash that established the young Yonkers singer as a multiplatinum hitmaker, a fashion icon and the prototype for what an R&b star could look and sound like in the hip-hop era. But it wasn’t until her second album, 1994’s “My Life,” that the Blige most of us are familiar with — the heart-on-a-sleeve singer-songwriter unafraid to mine her own considerable trauma through music — truly began to take shape.

Tracing that album’s dark genesis, exploring its legacy with fans and featuring brief (perhaps too brief) performance clips from a pair of 2019 concerts Blige staged to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Vanessa Roth’s “Mary J. Blige’s My Life” has no shortage of cooperation from the subject herself (also an executive producer). But there’s a valedictory glossiness to the film that sometimes underserves the warts-and-all power of the...

Mary J. Blige has a long, illustrious career, riddled with Top Ten hits, million-selling albums, Grammys, and Oscar nominations. Blige sees My Life not only as the moment she “started speaking to my fans” but also as “the place where I survived.” That narrative of survival, of walking through the fire only to emerge stronger on the other side,...

Producer Jesse Collins Is Ready for the 2020 BET Awards — and Beyond
Image
Over a career that spans 20 years, Jesse Collins has produced a wide range of hit television series and big awards shows via his eponymous production company, Jesse Collins Entertainment (Jce). But despite his many successes, including “Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “The Bobby Brown Story,” Collins continues to mostly fly under the radar — not that he minds, given his mantra: Don’t focus on popularity and accolades. Instead work to be great at one thing, and everything else will come by default.

That “one thing” for the prolific producer? Creating great content.

“We’ve been at this for a long time, and we may not be as well-known as some of the other big producers out there, but we’re growing,” Collins said. “And there’s a lot of content that we’ve been attached to, that some people don’t even know we produced, but one day they will.
