It’s not every day that Bruce Springsteen releases seven albums at the same time — 83 songs in all, going back over 40 years. But there’s never been an archival project with the same crazed ambition of his new box, Tracks II: The Lost Albums. His 1998 Tracks was a crate-digging collection of vault gems that fans had spent years praying for — or hoarding on bootlegs. But Tracks II is a whole different ballgame: seven unreleased albums Springsteen made, trying out various genres and voices, spanning from 1983 to 2018. Each one of these...

In a new interview published Thursday, Bruce Springsteen opened up about his experience on the set of the forthcoming music biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” and praised its star, Jeremy Allen White, for being “wonderfully tolerant” of his presence during production.
While speaking with Rolling Stone, Springsteen was asked what it was like to watch an actor play a younger version of him. “I’m sure it’s much worse for the actor than for me. Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set,” Springsteen told the outlet. “I said to him, ‘Look, anytime I’m in the way, just give me the look and I’m on my way home.’ So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there.”

Bruce Springsteen is opening up about watching his biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” come to life, revealing that he sometimes avoided “deeply personal” scenes when he would visit set.
“Deliver Me From Nowhere,” in which “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White plays Springsteen, chronicles the making of his 1982 album “Nebraska.” The record would go on to become one of his most enduring works, and was made at a time when Springsteen was reconciling his newfound success with the ghosts of his past.

Jeremy Allen White is Bruce Springsteen in the first trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere. The trailer journeys into Springsteen's past and the early days of his burgeoning fame, as he prepares to record the album that will not just be another hit, but will serve as his deeply personal statement on life itself. The film, which depicts the recording of Springsteen's classic album Nebraska in 1982, will hit the big screen on October 24, 2025.
In the trailer, Springsteen is already a rock star on the rise, recognized even by car dealers...even if he doesn't yet recognize himself. But he wants something more than the adulation of the arena crowd we see rocking out to "Born to Run." He sets out to work on an album that won't be a fist-pumping rocker, but something personal and Spartan: Nebraska, a stripped-down album about American literature and crime that would establish Springsteen not just as a hitmaker,...

Underrated Netflix Crime Show Before Stranger Things (Photo Credit – Netflix)
Before all the Demogorgons in Stranger Things, the deadly unhinged plays in Squid Games and the prison orange jumpsuits in Orange is the New Black, Netflix kicked things off with something completely unexpected. It was a fish out of water mobster tale set in snowy Norway.
While many assume House of Cards or Orange Is the New Black started it all, it was actually Lilyhammer that quietly opened the doors in 2012.
Lilyhammer: The First Netflix Original
This three-season crime drama flew under the radar for years. The show, led by The Sopranos’ Steven Van Zandt, was a collaboration between Netflix and Norway’s broadcaster Nrk which made it the streamer’s first global storytelling experiment.

For music-loving New Yorkers who grew up in the pre-digital age, the title of Jake Sumner’s first feature-length film needs no explanation. Beginning in the 1960s, countless newspaper ads announcing the rock and pop concerts that were reshaping showbiz began with three words: “Ron Delsener Presents.”
What Sumner presents is an exuberant look at some of those shows and artists, and a chance to spend quality time with Delsener himself, who turns 89 this year. He officially retired in 2022, but, at least as of the 2023 completion date of the documentary, was still spry, in constant motion, and making deals. Like the impresario Sol Hurok, who was his inspiration — and whom he met, as it turned out, just in the nick of time — Delsener sees no reason to stop doing what he loves.
Delsener has done his share of networking and schmoozing, and his business acumen would ultimately have global reverberations.

The Sopranos cast continues to be one of the greatest ever assembled on television, with stars continually popping up in other projects. Widely regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time, the HBO series centers on Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), a North Jersey-based mobster struggling with panic attacks who hesitantly starts therapy with Dr. Melfi (Lorraine Bracco). Key figures in the story include his family and fellow mobsters, especially his wife, Carmela, two children Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and A.J. (Robert Iler), and his ambitious cousin and protégé, Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli).
The Sopranos cast was a massive ensemble led by the late great James Gandolfini, who received six Emmy nominations and won three for his portrayal of Tony Soprano. His Mafia colleagues include the late Tony Sirico as the loyal yet volatile Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri, Steven Van Zandt as Tony's consigliere Silvio Dante, and Vincent Pastore as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero.

President Donald Trump thinks Bruce Springsteen is “highly overrated … not a talented guy – just a pushy, obnoxious Jerk.” Trump shared his always unfiltered comments on his Truth social media platform on Friday, following Springsteen’s admonishment of his administration at the opening of the E Street Band’s European “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour Wednesday night (May 14) in Manchester, England.
“Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldn’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!),” Trump wrote, referencing former President Joe Biden. “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to Keep His Mouth Shut until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare’. Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”

John Mulaney has learned a few things about life from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This sounds like the setup for a joke. James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano is widely regarded as an example of perfect casting, making it impossible for fans of The Sopranos to imagine any other actor in the role. However, series creator David Chase was reluctant to go forward with the casting for a surprising reason.
The story of Gandolfini almost missing out on The Sopranos was shared in the new book Gandolfini: Jim, Tony, and the Life of a Legend by Jason Bailey. An excerpt from the book, published by Vulture, includes a passage about how Gandolfini's manager, Nancy Sanders, suggested the actor after reading the script for The Sopranos. When Chase questioned if Gandolfini was "threatening enough" to play the mafia boss, Sanders assured him that this wouldn't be a problem.

The Sopranos creator David Chase once questioned whether James Gandolfini had the right presence to portray the troubled mob boss Tony Soprano, according to a new book excerpt. Jason Bailey’s Gandolfini: Jim, Tony, and the Life of a Legend explores the casting process that ultimately led to one of television’s most iconic performances.
Nancy Sanders, one of Gandolfini’s managers, recalled in the excerpt that after reading the pilot script for The Sopranos, she immediately thought of Gandolfini for the role. “I went, ‘Oh my God, I think I have Tony Soprano,’” Sanders said. However, Chase expressed a hesitation after reviewing Gandolfini’s acting reel.
“Alright, here’s the deal,” Chase told Sanders. “I think he’s brilliant. I have one concern, and that is: Is he threatening enough?” Sanders, surprised by the comment, responded with confidence. “David, if your only concern is is he threatening enough… If you said to me,...

Even if you’ve never experienced a live performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, you probably know their shows are the stuff of legend — epic, three-hour music marathons that celebrate the struggles of everyday Americans with joy, communal spirit and, of course, world-class rock and roll. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have arguably set the gold standard for touring, packing arenas since The Boss’ breakthrough album, Born to Run, became a national sensation 50 years ago.
Outside of his poetic lyrics about the human condition, Springsteen — a 20-time Grammy-winner — has been a man of few words. He values his privacy and is most comfortable around familiar faces and people who have earned his trust. This includes longtime collaborators like guitarist Steven Van Zandt, as well as filmmaker Thom Zimny, who chronicles behind-the-scenes prep for his ongoing global tour in Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

The Sopranos blew the doors off what TV could be. It set the standard for prestige drama, something that, in all honesty, has been quite hard to beat, or even match. Before The Sopranos, networks enjoyed their safety, comfort, and the tried and tested formula for success. Why fix what’s not broke? Things could have very well remained the same – a good ol’ mix of happy endings, clean-cut heroes, and nobody rocking the boat.
The medium would eventually get its breakout anti-hero, with a fair bit of agita. Tony Soprano kicked the door open for every great show that followed: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, all of it. The Peabody Awards took notice early, awarding its first two seasons back-to-back – an honor shared only by Northern Exposure and The West Wing.

Last month, Nils Lofgren was watching the Grammy Awards when he came upon a familiar sight. After Benson Boone started his performance of “Beautiful Things” in the audience, Lofgren observed Boone jump atop a piano and execute a side backflip; he then launched into yet another flip midway through the song. “He sounded great,” Lofgren says, “but I wasn’t ready for that. I’m glad to see the tradition carrying on.”
In the hall of fame of rock & roll stage moves, a backflip is a category all its own.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role of Dr. Jennifer Melfi other than the brilliant Lorraine Bracco. Creator David Chase initially sought Bracco for the lead role, something she easily fit into with her Italian-American descent and her accent. Interestingly, she had played the wife of a mob boss in Goodfellas and didn’t want to play the same role again in The Sopranos.

The female lead, Carmela Soprano, went to Edie Falco who was phenomenal in the role. However, she later admitted that if it were up to her she would’ve cast herself in the role of Dr. Melfi. While it is easy to see Falco’s reasoning for such a casting decision, the switched roles wouldn’t have worked for me.

Jack White’s fans at his show at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo on Saturday were treated to a surprise performance by Eddie Vedder.
During White’s encore, which included the White Stripes songs “Hypnotize” and “Seven Nation Army,” White launched into Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” with his band. White delivered the first verse before the Pearl Jam frontman surprised fans when he sauntered on the stage to join in during the first chorus. Seldom do actors steal the spotlight quite like James Gandolfini did. The man’s presence was enough to attract all the eyes in the room. He wasn’t just an actor, he was a force of nature and on the unfortunate date of June 19, 2013, he left the world, leaving a dent James Gandolfini-shaped hole in Hollywood. While it has been over a decade since he passed, his fans have stayed loyal to him all these years, keeping his memory alive, one The Sopranos re-watch after the next.

The world really lost one of the greatest acting talents of all time when James Gandolfini passed away back in 2013, leaving behind a legacy very few can live up to. His acting credits in masterpieces like his all-time best smash-hit mafia series The Sopranos and the thriller-crime fan-favorite flick The Drop are the perfect proof of the outstanding actor that the late legend was.

While the news of his passing away, which surfaced more than a decade ago now, left his fans around the globe devastated, the ones left even more heartbroken were the people who actually got to work with him—like Steven Van Zandt. When we talk about peak television, The Sopranos would definitely be among the top ten with its crime saga and psychological elements. Apart from the show, James Gandolfini’s portrayal of the mafia boss Tony Soprano is also widely regarded as one of the finest in the history of television. But behind this tough character was an actor who was deeply committed to playing the role to the best of his abilities.

In a past interview, David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos, shared his thoughts on the widely discussed finale of the series. The ending, which left Tony Soprano’s fate up in the air, created a storm of debate among fans. People were split, with some believing that Tony survived, while others felt that his death was the inevitable conclusion.

The Sopranos followed the story of mob boss Tony Soprano, played by the brilliant James Gandolfini. The series revolved around Tony trying to find a balance between his mob family and his real family. As a result, Gandolfini’s performance began integral to the series and it might surprise some fans that he was nearly replaced by another actor who was later cast in a different role.

Twenty-six years since it premiered, The Sopranos remains a raw and provocative account of criminal camaraderie, the unusual tangled matters of the heart, and the pliable structure of good and evil. But as good a show as it was, it left us with a few unanswered questions. The biggest one is about Tony Soprano.
What really happened to the Dimeo crime family boss at the diner in the finale? Did the “Man in the Members Only Jacket” give him the Sollozzo and McClusky treatment, or did he live to argue with Carmela a million more times? After all, his major feud with the Lupertazzi crime family had been solved. Could there have been another party willing to whack him? Series creator David Chase has remained cagey about the answer, refusing to bulge again in the recent “Making Of” docuseries, Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos.

Bruce Springsteen wrapped up a productive 2024 on location in New Jersey, which has included spending time on the set of the biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere.
The 20th Century Studios film, about the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, stars Jeremy Allen White of The Bear and began filming scenes in November. The production is scheduled for more Jersey location shoots in January, including concert scenes in East Rutherford, on its way to a 2025 release date.
Much of the filming so far has taken place in Asbury Park, with scenes involving Frank’s Deli and Restaurant on Main St., the Stone Pony, the Convention Hall, the Carousel House, and, of course, the beach. The movie has transformed Asbury Park into a 1980s version of itself, with period-appropriate cars parked on Main St. Inside the Carousel House, the production recreated the old merry-go-round, as well as the rides that were iconic on the Asbury Park boardwalk.

The Boss is a fan of The Bear. Bruce Springsteen praised Jeremy Allen White’s performance in the upcoming Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” calling him a “terrific actor.”
Production began on “Deliver Me From Nowhere” in October, and Springsteen was photographed visiting the New Jersey set in November. In an interview on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio at the start of the year, Bruce was asked if it is strange to see someone portraying you in a movie.

It’s funny how sometimes the most unexpected connections pop up, breaking the rules we thought we had about entertainment. We always believed you could only pick one side: the quirky, fast-talking Lorelai Gilmore (from Gilmore Girls) and her charming Stars Hollow or the brooding, morally gray Tony Soprano (The Sopranos) and his dark world of mobsters.
One was all about warm, heartfelt coffee shop moments, while the other was steeped in criminal drama and family power struggles. The two shows seemed like worlds apart—how could they possibly overlap?
The Sopranos | Credit: HBO
Well, leave it to the internet to throw that logic out the window. It turns out that, while Lorelai and Tony may never have shared a coffee or swapped mafia tips, an eagle-eyed Redditor stumbled upon a shocking little Easter egg that ties the two shows together in a way that’ll make you do a double-take.
