Dermot Mulroney has teased the possibility of My Best Friend's Wedding getting the sequel treatment, nearly 30 years after the release of the original hit comedy that positioned Cameron Diaz and Julia Robertsin the ultimate love triangle. Fans of the beloved '90s romantic comedy, which is widely regarded as one of the best of its genre, may want to say a little prayer for it to actually happen, as Mulroney admits that the project is only in the very early stages of being discussed at the moment, so you will have to keep wishin' and hopin'.
Mulroney confirmed to the New York Post that "there is talk of a sequel" to My Best Friend's Wedding, while promoting his Netflix series The Hunting Wives. "I know nothing about it," he said of the potential follow-up. "Last I heard, quote, lawyers were talking, unquote."

Hollywood is paying tribute to Sly Stone after news of the funk-rock pioneer’s death was announced Monday.
Stone died after a “prolonged battle with Copd and other underlying health issues,” his family said Monday.
“Sly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family,” his family wrote in a statement. “While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come.”
Sly shot to prominence in the music industry in 1968 alongside his band Sly and the Family Stone with their hit “Dance to the Music,” which landed in the top 10 on both the pop and R&b charts. The group continued to deliver a series of crossover tracks, including “Summer of Love,” including “Stand!,” “Hot Fun in the Summertime,” “Runnin’ Away,” “If You Want Me to Stay” and “Time...

If Sir Elton John's career had only spanned the 1970s, he would still be a music legend, an icon of glam and progressive rock. Fortunately, he forged on, segueing into each new era of rock and branching into film and Broadway with comparable success and his signature aplomb and style. We've undertaken a nearly impossible task -- narrowing a huge catalogue of memorable compositions down to the 25 best.
John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, and showed an affinity for playing the piano at a young age. In 1967, he answered an ad for songwriters and met Bernie Taupin, which led to a long and successful collaboration, with Taupin writing lyrics to which John composed music. It took a few years of struggling, but in 1970 they had their first top ten hit with "Your Song." In 1972, "Honky Chateau" became his first of seven consecutive number one albums in a three-year period.

The life of R&b legend Roberta Flack was celebrated at a star-studded memorial in Harlem, New York’s Abyssinian Baptist Church on Monday, March 10th. Fugees members Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean made a surprise appearance, performing covers of Flack’s songs.
The duo took on Flack’s classic “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” before delivering Fugees’ version of “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” which launched them into stardom and remains the group’s biggest hit.
As Billboard reports, Hill prefaced their performance with a remembrance of the singer. “We weren’t formally asked to do this because I think they were a little shy in asking us to attend,” she said. “So we kind of bum-rushed the service because it really wouldn’t be possible for us to just stand by and not participate.”

Doja Cat, whose discography includes farm-animal jingle “Mooo!” and the Dionne Warwick-sampled “Paint the Town Red,” made a big impression at the 97th Oscars. In a social media post Monday, the pop singer expressed her gratitude to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and acknowledged her performance hiccups.
“I never get to sing like that and what I did was brave and scary as fuck for me,” Doja wrote on Instagram.

You can't really have a true 007 adventure without an opening title sequence. They're a seminal piece of the James Bond experience that thematically set the tone for the film you're about to watch. It's difficult to imagine that ever going away even with the creative changing of the guard to Amazon MGM Studios. The ingenuity in their kaleidoscopic imagery has evolved over a number of ways across the franchise's six decade run. But it's ultimately the musical selection that accompanies these visuals that give these sequences their power. The wrong track — even if it's a good song — can offset the mood of the film.
Nearly every Bond film has had to go through the lengthy process of matching the right voice to those opening titles, with "Thunderball" proving to have one of the most interesting developments. Anyone who's marathoned the title sequences — as I have — knows that suave crooner...

Divighn (Team Michael), “I Got You (I Feel Good)” — Grade: B+ | Maybe this grade should be an all-the-way A. Divighn showed us range and flair (those yips!), and his voice never faltered even while putting on a heckuva stage show. But the overall impression the two-chair turn left was “fun” rather than “fantastic.” Maybe, as John Legend was, I was listening for some more “stank.

No list of the most recognisable, memorable and beloved singers of all time can be considered valid without the inclusion of Luther Vandross. So, it’s mildly surprising that it’s taken until now — almost 20 years after his passing — for there to be a definitive documentary about the life and legacy of the soul and R&b legend. Thankfully, veteran documentary filmmaker Dawn Porter is more than up to the task, carving out a celebratory space for us to revel in his timeless music while sensitively illuminating the man behind it.
Helpfully steered by first-person interviews with Vandross’ close friends and collaborators like Fonzi Thornton, Carlos Alomar and Robin Clark, we are first taken on a journey through how Luther learned his craft and refined his style. Cutting his teeth on the likes of Sesame Street — the archival footage Porter utilises here is sensational — coming up with catchy jingles for...

Babyface went viral on social media during the 2025 Grammys for an awkward and disrespectful red carpet interview with entertainment journalists from the Associated Press.
The iconic singer and producer was being interviewed before the main Grammy ceremony by AP’s Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria. In the clips that have gone viral on social media, Babyface is being asked a question by Ambriz and is in the middle of an answer when Fauria interrupts him and starts beckoning Chappell Roan, who is walking behind the 13-time Grammy winner. Babyface then realizes they would rather talk to Roan, and ends the interview and walks away.
The brief interview created a furious reaction online, with the likes of Dionne Warwick and Khloé Kardashian upbraiding the journalists for treating Babyface so disrespectfully.

A feature-length documentary about the multi-platinum R&b singer does justice to his talents and tactfully handles the issue of his sexuality
All of the mystery and certainty of love is carried in Luther Vandross’s radiant singing voice. On uptempo tracks he seems suffused with joy; on ballads he’s less sure, singing melodies that search high and low but still with hope in his heart. Those performances, and the complex life that informed them, are rightly given a feature-length canvas in this documentary by Dawn Porter, a US film-maker known for her studies of presidents, lawmakers and social movements, here making a rare foray into pop culture.
Porter rolls out an unbroken chronology of Vandross’s life, juxtaposing archive material with contemporary talking heads. That traditional approach is validated by both kinds of footage: old Vandross performances and interviews have been expertly filleted, while the talking heads are well-chosen,...

The premiere of the genre-blurring feature “Blknws: Terms & Conditions” at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival is a drama in and of itself: just days before it was scheduled to screen, the rights-holder to the film pulled it from the festival. Then, a few days into the festival, a surprise sale of the rights to a new owner cleared the way for the film to screen after all. Neither Kahlil Joseph, the artist and filmmaker who directed the film, nor Shari Frilot, the Senior Film Programmer who introduced the Monday, January 27 screening, directly acknowledged these events. But Frilot invited Joseph to the stage by not too subtly introducing him as a “tenacious, unstoppable artist” to explosive cheers. That this struggle over…well…terms and conditions, played out around the unveiling of the film is almost satirical, as it reinforces a need for the kind of rebirth the world of “Blknws: Terms & Conditions” insists upon.

There are a lot of pop and rock songs performed in Sing 2, but not every song in the animated movie can be the best. After the success of their talent show in Sing, Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) and his crew of performers—Johnny (Taron Egerton), Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), Meena (Tori Kelly), Ash (Scarlett Johansson), Gunter (Nick Kroll), and more—are moving on to the big leagues. When Buster lies to the hotheaded entertainment mogul Mr. Crystal (Bobby Cannavale) about the great, reclusive Clay Calloway (Bono) signing on to their show, the crew ends up in hot water as they attempt to score the high-profile artist to turn their lies into reality.
Like its predecessor, Sing 2 is packed with musical numbers from a variety of genres, all performed by a misfit group of animals. From Dionne Warwick classics to Ariana Grande hits, there's sure to be a song for all musical tastes.

Nile Rodgers, the leader of Chic, shared news of Anderson’s passing on social media on Saturday. A cause of death was not disclosed.
After getting her start as a backing vocalist for artists such as Dionne Warwick and Roy Buchanan and vocal work on The Wiz soundtrack, Anderson auditioned for a role in Chic in 1977. Following Chic’s initial disbandment in 1983, Anderson toured internationally with Luther Vandross.
