- Philip H. Lathrop was born on October 22, 1912 in Merced, California, USA. He was a cinematographer and actor, known for The Pink Panther (1963), Earthquake (1974) and The Americanization of Emily (1964). He was married to Molly Lathrop and Betty Jo Lathrop. He died on April 12, 1995 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He also photographed "Soldier In The Rain", a film Edwards co-wrote and was involved in producing, although he elected not to direct it.
