Of all the early 1990s kids' films revolving around a ragtag group of misfits playing sports, "The Mighty Ducks" is one of the most enduring. The original made an immediate impression on young audiences, so much so that it earned two sequels in quick succession, both of which featured many returning cast members. Each of the players on the Ducks had their own unique niche, whether they were an enforcer, a figure of comedic relief, or a pint-sized hero, making them memorable to fans.
While some members of the cast of "The Mighty Ducks" parlayed their experience in the film into an adult acting career, others struggled to find the same success or left the industry entirely, and many of them reunited for "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" series on Disney+. But whether or not they found Hollywood fame, plenty have led truly interesting lives on and off screen.

Disney recently canceled several popular shows across its networks and streaming platforms. One of the biggest surprises was the cancellation of Doctor Odyssey on ABC after just one season. The medical drama, set on a cruise ship, was a Ryan Murphy production starring Joshua Jackson. Fans loved its fresh take, but ABC decided not to move forward. Jackson shared his frustration in a recent interview: “This is a crazy and difficult business, and whatever the reasons were for them not wanting to move forward with it, they don’t actually tell us those things,” he said.
He added, “They may make that show with somebody else. I have no idea what their plans are. They haven’t let me know, but I am not holding my breath that it’s coming back.” While the show hasn’t been officially canceled, sources say the actors have been released from their contracts,...

Disney decided to cancel some major shows this summer. These decisions have left viewers shocked, with some projects ending after just one season and others suddenly disappearing from the schedule.
While each show had its own reason for being cut, the results were the same, fans were left wondering what happened and whether any of them could make a comeback.
One of the most surprising cancellations came from ABC with the medical drama Doctor Odyssey. The show, which starred Joshua Jackson, only aired for one season before it was pulled from the lineup. Jackson opened up about how he felt after hearing the news. “This is a crazy and difficult business, and whatever the reasons were for them not wanting to move forward with it, they don’t actually tell us those things,” he explained.
The actor admitted he was disappointed, adding, “I am always bummed out when a show gets canceled.

Dawson's Creek is a coming-of-age teen drama that follows a tight-knit group of friends growing up in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The series begins during their high school years and follows them into college. Created by Scream writer Kevin Williamson, it debuted in 1998 on The WB and ran for six seasons until 2003.
Alongside Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 7th Heaven, Dawson's Creek became one of The WB's defining shows that launched its young cast to global fame. The show has generally been recognized as a modern classic, earning spots on various "best of" lists over the years.
Dawson's Creek is also credited with sparking the wave of teen dramas that gained popularity throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. Now, more than two decades after the series ended, two of its stars are reuniting for an exciting new project.

Doctor Odyssey star Joshua Jackson has given a disheartening but rational comment about the show's future, amid ABC's insistence that it hasn't been axed. The medical drama set aboard a cruise ship debuted to strong ratings and boasted a talented cast, but Doctor Odyssey season 2 was canceled by default when the cast's options all expired.
No decision has been made to renew these options. So Doctor Odyssey is considered to be canceled by default, despite the network's insistence that there has not officially pulled the plug on it.
Jackson told People how he had fun on Doctor Odyssey, and worked with great people. He added that he was disappointed the cast would not get to go back and do it all again for season 2, but seemed to understand the complexities of the industry, and how sometimes things just don't work out. Check out Jackson's comments:

The sexy boat has officially sailed — and one of its stars is speaking out. Joshua Jackson has broken his silence following the surprise cancellation of Doctor Odyssey, ABC’s high-profile cruise ship medical drama from American Horror Story mastermind Ryan Murphy. Though never officially labeled as canceled, the show’s fate was sealed when ABC let the cast’s contracts expire and the crew quietly moved on to other Murphy productions. Now, Jackson is opening up about what happened — and how it feels to say goodbye so soon. “This is a crazy and difficult business, and whatever the reasons were for them not wanting to move forward with it, they don’t actually tell us those things,” Jackson told People. “I’m always bummed out when a show gets canceled.”
While Deadline previously reported that creative options were still being “weighed,” Jackson isn’t holding out much hope.

Joshua Jackson is shedding some light on the future of Doctor Odyssey amid reports that the ABC series would not be returning for a second season — even as the network and Disney-owned studio 20th Television, where co-creator Ryan Murphy is based, say they’re still discussing the show’s future.
Speaking to People, Jackson, who starred as a cruise-ship doctor on the series, indicated that the show is not returning, saying in part, “I am not holding my breath that it’s coming back.”
“It’s a bummer we don’t get to do it again, but I’m happy for the time that we got,” he said.
Jackson admitted he hadn’t been completely clued in on what the network and studio’s plans were.

ABC’s fall 2025 premiere date schedule was revealed today, and one major title that’s missing from it is Doctor Odyssey. The medical dramedy made a big splash last fall when it debuted as part of the network’s Thursday night lineup, alongside 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy. However, even with its star-studded main cast, a revolving door of fabulous guest actors, mega-producer Ryan Murphy‘s name attached, and a lot of questions to follow the Season 1 finale, the series didn’t earn a renewal from the network. Now, lead actor Joshua Jackson is finally speaking out about the news. The actor talked to People about the show’s cancellation and said, “That was a really good group of people, and it was a really fun show. Before Fast & Furious: Paul Walker’s Forgotten Thriller That Launched a Secret Society Trilogy ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Before Paul Walker took the wheel in Fast & Furious, he appeared in a lesser-known mystery drama set in a world far removed from racing lanes. The Skulls, released in 2000, placed Walker in a world of covert alongside Joshua Jackson.
The film raked in more than $50 million globally (per Box Office Mojo), made on a modest $15 million budget. Though not widely remembered today, the film didn’t stop there. It later led to two low-profile follow-ups, both of which quietly extended the idea of underground student societies and their secrets.

Joshua Jackson celebrated the Fourth of July in the Hamptons last week and we have some new photos from his fun weekend!
The 47-year-old actor was joined by his buddies, restaurateurs Dylan Hales and Ronnie Flynn, while attending Nylon Residency at The Surf Lodge, an epic five-day celebration of music, style, and culture.
The event took place in Montauk, New York, which is a Hamptons hotspot throughout the summer.
The sighting comes one week after it was reported that Joshua‘s show Doctor Odyssey was essentially canceled by ABC as the cast was let out of their contracts. Despite the news, ABC and 20th Television told THR that they are still “discussing its future.”
The site has sources that are sharing, however, that the sets have been broken down, and it appears as if ABC could be going the route of the “unscripted series cancellation.” Reality shows are often never given formal cancellations.

Rob Cohen's 2000 conspiracy thriller "The Skulls" was a notable hit when it was first released, earning over $50 million on a $15 million budget. The film starred Paul Walker and Joshua Jackson, both rising stars from the late-'90s teen movie circuit. Jackson had recently appeared in films like "Apt Pupil," "Urban Legend," and "Cruel Intentions," while Walker had made a splash in "Pleasantville," "Varsity Blues," and "She's All That." Both of them were, naturally, all that. After "The Skulls," Jackson would continue to rise with the hit soap opera "Dawson's Creek," and Walker would appear in "The Fast and the Furious" the next year. We all know how big its sequels became.
It was a stroke of casting fortune that Walker and Jackson should star in "The Skulls" together, and as rivals, no less. The attractiveness quotient is not measurable by human tools. "The Skulls" takes place at a prestigious,...

When preparing her unprecedented case against disgraced surgeon Christopher Duntsch (Joshua Jackson), Assistant District Attorney Michelle Shughart (AnnaSophia Robb) had to make a difficult choice: either prosecute the man himself or take on the system that fostered his destruction.
Episodes 7 and 8 wrap up the story of Christopher Duntsch with a damning indictment of the healthcare system. Who is to blame for this dangerous surgeon’s botched operations, the incompetent doctor himself or the mentors and administrators who kept passing him along?
In the latest episode of Bloody FM’s Murder Made Fiction, Jenn and Joe wrap up season one of Dr. Death with emotional testimony and an important question: by focusing solely on prosecuting Duntsch are we perpetuating the circumstances that helped him thrive? Ashley Benson, Emily Alyn Lind, Madelaine Petsch and Sadie Stanley have been tapped for the lead roles in “Pretty Babies,” an indie female friendship drama written and directed by Tyler-Marie Evans, who makes her feature debut.
Set to enter production later this summer, the film follows two teenage girls who run away to Hollywood, chasing stardom, but their dreams lead them into prostitution, trapping them in the dark underbelly of the sex work industry as they travel from Texas to California.
“’Pretty Babies’ is a love letter to Old Hollywood. We’re pushing into something new with this script, and
that excitement has been palpable from the start, and something felt by every collaborator,” said Evans.
Christine Vachon from Killer Films is producing, alongside Jordan Wagner from Wagner Entertainment. Benson will produce. Amanda Larney of Killer Films is associate producing.
“When I first met Tyler-Marie, I knew immediately there was something special about her.

ABC provides clarification on the future of Ryan Murphy's Doctor Odysseyseason 2, amid widespread cancelation reports. The show, which stars Joshua Jackson as a doctor on board a cruise liner, appeared to have been canceled by default, following the expiration of the cast's options, and the decision not to renew for Doctor Odyssey season 2.
And the network has now moved to clarify the status of the Ryan Murphy medical drama, and what the future could hold for the show. It seems that, although the ship has not left the metaphorical dock, things may not be completely dead in the water when it comes to Doctor Odyssey's long-term future.
Per THR, ABC is insisting that Doctor Odyssey has not been officially canceled. While Doctor Odyssey season 2 is not going to be happening any time soon, the network is refusing to state that the show has officially been given the axe.

The future of Doctor Odyssey at ABC looks grim, as the cast options for another season of the show are expiring. While this led to a flurry of headlines reporting that the show had been canceled, that's not quite the case just yet, as the show's future has just gotten a more hopeful update.
Per THR, Disney Television Group president Craig Erlich previously spoke in May about how the network was having continued "creative conversations with Ryan [Murphy], and we'll talk to him about what the next chapter looks like." However, there were reportedly already efforts being made to wrap up shooting on the show behind the scenes, even at this time. Sets were being struck, and the recent news about the cast options expiring had some from the series saying their goodbyes.

Doctor Odyssey won’t be setting sail for a second season — for now, and maybe not ever. But ABC maintains that the series hasn’t been canceled, even as its cast is on the verge of being free to pursue other work.
The series, co-created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, was the only scripted ABC show whose future was up in the air as the 2024-25 season came to a close. ABC has repeatedly said that it’s still weighing the show’s future: Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter in May that “We’re continuing to have creative conversations with Ryan, and we’ll talk to him about what the next chapter looks like.”
Yet as those conversations were happening, Doctor Odyssey’s sets were being struck, sources tell THR, and contract options for the cast are set to expire Monday.

With the show’s cast options set to expire on Monday, June 30, and the network not appearing to step in and extend those deals, “Doctor Odyssey” has effectively been canceled at ABC. As a result, the Ryan Murphy-produced drama will not be coming back for a second season, “at least not anytime soon,” reports Deadline.
According to the outlet, “sources stress that the glossy cruise ship medical drama starring Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson has not been formally canceled, and Murphy is weighing creative options as to where he may want to take it next. If the show ultimately comes back — on ABC or Hulu, where it has done well — new deals with the cast will have to be made.”
When ABC unveiled its 2025-2026 primetime schedule last month, the drama was noticeably absent, with Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, whose role encompasses ABC Entertainment, Disney Branded Television,...

Joshua Jackson and Marguerite Moreau swapped District 5 jerseys for Anaheim orange at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Friday, stepping to the microphone at the 2025 NHL Draft to reveal the Ducks’ tenth-overall choice, Brandon Wheat Kings center Roger McQueen. Jackson’s sweater carried “Conway 96,” a nod to the character he played in 1992’s The Mighty Ducks—a role he called “a full-circle moment” while greeting fans on the draft’s red carpet.
Inside the arena, the pair warmed up the crowd with a playful recitation of movie lore before announcing McQueen’s name, punctuated by Moreau’s rally cry, “Quack quack, let’s go!”. Speaking later on NHL Tonight, Jackson said being part of a prospect’s big night “feels amazing,” adding that at age 13 he never imagined the film would still echo through hockey culture three decades later. Moreau, an Orange County resident and regular at Honda Center, told...

Joshua Jackson and Marguerite Moreau are donning their Mighty Ducks jerseys again.
Joshua, 47, and Marguerite, 48, reunited at the 2025 NHL Draft in order to share the Anaheim Ducks’ first round picks in Los Angeles on Friday (June 27).
Joshua appeared on NHL Tonight where he joked about donning the jersey again over 30 years after the Disney film was first released.
At the draft, Joshua joked about the fact that none of the athletes at the draft had been born yet when the first movie in the franchise was released and said, “Literally every single one of them. Some of their parents weren’t even born by the time we made the Mighty Ducks movies.”
If you missed it, Joshua‘s show just got a major update.
