Exclusive: Buffalo 8 has acquired streaming and VOD rights to Int. Hallway/Night, an existentialist dark comedy from actor-director Billy Zane (Titanic), out of the Cannes Film Festival. Details as to the release plan haven’t been disclosed.

Co-written by Zane, Andre Alves, Nick Loeb and Hugo Melo, pic follows a film director (Zane) who checks in on his actress wife, who he suspects is having an adulterous affair, while she shoots a horror film in Georgia. He soon finds the murderous plot of the film parallels his darkest fantasies of revenge, and one day during production wakes to find he has entered the film itself as the jealous and murderous husband in a comedic, meta telling of a doomed love triangle set in purgatory.

“Int.Hallway / Night explores the universal themes of infidelity and the variety of ways one processes the seemingly inescapable slide,” said Zane in a statement to Deadline.

Joe Manganiello has officially filed for divorce from his wife, Sofia Vergara, after seven years of marriage.

The “Magic Mike” star’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed the divorce docs on Wednesday. According to the docs, obtained by Et, Manganiello cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their decision to split.

According to the divorce petition, Manganiello and Vergara signed a prenuptial agreement that stipulates that they each keep any assets that were accumulated during their time together.

The docs also state their date of separation as July 2, 2023.

The first announced their split, and intention to divorce, on Monday, in a statement to Page Six.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the pair’s joint statement reads. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.

Sofia Vergara’s ex Nick Loeb brought his legal battle for custody of two frozen embryos created during the couple’s relationship to a new level, likening the embryos to slaves in court papers filed Monday.

In the papers, filed in federal court in Louisiana, Loeb opposes Vergara’s motion to dismiss the suit and compares the embryos — dubbed “Emma” and “Isabella” in the lawsuit — to slaves.

“In order to understand the full complexity of this case and the Plaintiffs’ legal basis, we must first acknowledge that there is a large divide between states that view human embryos as chattel, human tissue or products, like California, and states, such as Louisiana, that view human embryos as ‘biological human beings,’ and, secondly, that this divide existed only one other time in our United States history from which any legal precedent may be reviewed – the pre-Civil War era,” the filing reads.

The filing goes on to offer dictionary definitions of “slavery” and “slave.”

“Under these simple definitions, a human embryo, if believed to be a human being and alive, (which is our contention) would be considered a slave and the parents would be the owners of the slave, particularly in states where they are considered property,” the filing reads. “In these states, parents have the full authority to kill their embryos, send them to experimentation for research purposes which ends in their death or have them given to another couple. The parents have complete dominion over their offspring. The embryos are the parents’ ‘property’ and held to serve the needs of the parents.”

Monday’s filing goes so far as to drag the 1853 memoir “Twelve Years a Slave,” later adapted into the 2013 film “12 Years a Slave,” into the argument.

Monday’s filing states that the slavery issue is being brought up to “demonstrate the jurisdictional and legal issues arising from this stark difference in how human beings are categorized.”

Loeb initially launched his legal battle for control of the former couple’s embryos in 2014, filing suit against “Modern Family” star Vergara in Los Angeles Superior Court.

That suit was dismissed, but the legal saga migrated to Louisiana, where, the court papers say, Loeb took up residence in December 2017.

A twisted, cold-hearted monster features in this newly-released clip for Day of the Dead: Bloodline – and we’re not referring to the undead.

In fact, it’s a reanimated zombie that winds up saving the day, as Sophie Skelton’s heroine comes face-to-face with a sexual harasser (John Schaech) named Max. What follows is an unnerving exchange between Skelton and Schaech’s respective survivors, before the latter makes an unwanted advance.

Whether intentional or not, this Bloodline clip, one which arrives on the eve or release, appears to be ripped straight from the headlines, with the only difference being that a flesh-munching zombie arrives just in time to thwart an attempted rape. Because who said the undead always have to be portrayed as the bad guys?

Story-wise, Day of the Dead: Bloodline takes place in a “post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past.

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting, we now have a brand new, retro-styled poster for Hèctor Hernández Vicens’ Day of the Dead: Bloodline. As you can see in the gallery down below, it shows off Johnathon Schaech’s character Max, a half human and half zombie inspired by Bub from the 1985 original, and also uses the font from that film, too, giving it a rather old school vibe.

It’s a slick piece of art, all things considered, which only makes it all the more unfortunate that this seems to be yet another pointless remake. Perhaps if it was made with a reason, like bringing George A. Romero’s original script to life, which was cut for budgetary reasons in the 80s, I could understand the need for this project to exist. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Instead, this is the third or so interpretation of the 1985 classic,...

The first trailer for Day of the Dead: Bloodline is here. The original Day of the Dead is one of the most classic zombie movies ever made and remains one of director George A. Romero's finest moments. So the idea of remaking it, or "reimagining" it, is considered sacred ground for many. If you were to call this movie something else, it might look like a pretty fun zombie movie. But this is delicate glass and it's going to be tough not to take that into account.

Day of the Dead: Bloodline looks like it will take the very basic premise of the original, but it's going to add a lot of its own flare. We have some of the imagery needed to call it Day of the Dead. There's an underground bunker, plenty of zombies and Bub. A new version of Bub, but Bub the zombie is still here.

It introduces Max, the movie’s version of Bub who’s supposed to be part human and part zombie, while we’re also treated to plenty of gory violence. Which means hopefully we’ll be getting some neat new zombie effects, even if they’re not the work of Tom Savini.

Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting, we now have three brand new images from the upcoming remake of George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead, entitled Day of the Dead: Bloodline, which is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.

As you can see in the gallery below, one of the new images shows a rotten, stitched-up corpse rising up from an autopsy table, while we also have a look at a zombie with a very gaunt, skull-like appearance, and two human characters. Nothing here is terribly revealing, but it’s still nice to get another glimpse of the pic as many are curious to see how it’ll stack up to the film it’s remaking.

Earlier today, Saban Films gave us our first look at their Day of the Dead remake, which is going by the title Day Of The Dead: Bloodline.

Up above, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse at one of the zombies set to appear in the flick along with the official poster. Neither give us very much to go on, unfortunately, but it’s nice that the studio is finally peeling back the lid on the pic as we’ve been waiting to see something from it for a while now.

Equipped with the tagline “Every day has its end,” the one-sheet teases that Bloodline will be a “bold reimagining of the George A. Romero classic.” Whether it’ll be more positively received than 2008’s remake remains to be seen,...

Horror legend George A. Romero, the man responsible for creating the zombie genre as we know it, passed away this year, but his legacy is going to live on for many years to come. For better or for worse, that means some of his classic movies are going to be remade. Or in this case, "reimagined." While Bloodline isn't necessarily being billed as a Day of the Dead remake, that seems to be what we're getting here.

A judge in Louisiana threw out a lawsuit Friday filed by Sofia Vergara‘s ex-fiancé Nick Loeb for custody of pre-embryos they conceived together.

The motion is a win for the Modern Family star, 45, who filed a suit in February to block Loeb, 41, from using the frozen pre-embryos while they were together in 2013. They split a year later.

TMZ first reported the story, writing that the judge determined the court had no jurisdiction in the case because the embryos were conceived in California, and neither Vergara or Loeb had permanent ties to the state.

What began as a happy trip to a reproductive clinic has now blossomed into some education for humanity. On Friday, in the latest twist in a novel battle over frozen embryos, Nick Loeb accused his ex, actress Sofia Vergara, of violating First Amendment rights by suing him.

Loeb, a scion to a wealthy family and a bit actor on several films, first sued Vergara in 2014 upon the end of a four-year relationship. He initiated litigation with the aim of getting a court order so he could obtain custody of embryos the two had created at the Art Reproductive Center in Beverly Hills. That lawsuit was dropped last December after a judge ordered that Loeb disclose the identities of two former girlfriends who had abortions. According to his latest court papers, he withdrew the litigation to protect his former girlfriends' personal privacy.
