After nine weeks of brutal auditions, America's Got Talent has officially revealed the 44 acts competing in the live quarterfinals. Broken up into four weeks of auditions starting August 19th, the road to the AGT finale is officially in the hands of the fans. From singing sensations, technologically advanced acts, rival dance crews, plus the ten Golden Buzzer recipients, the battle is just heating up.

This season, each of the judges —Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel —plus host Terry Crews, gave out 2 Golden Buzzers. The recipients included singing groups Birmingham Youth Choir and The Boykinz, solo singers Charity Lockhart, Jessica Sanchez, and Jourdan Blue, dance troupes LightWire, The Funkateer Dancers, and Unreal Crew, a danger act Duo Stardust, and variety act Messoudi Brothers. These acts automatically moved to the live rounds, bypassing the deliberations.

Before the live shows begin next week, America's Got Talent will be celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Two muscular participants had America’s Got Talent judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara genuinely rattled after pulling them on stage for a stunt that quickly turned dangerous. The men in question, Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison, turned the entire set into a gym and began tossing massive barbells, not just between themselves but over the heads of the two judges as well. As Byron Allen’s “Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen” is set to tape more than 130 episodes ahead of its late night debut on CBS.

As TheWrap previously reported, “Comics Unleashed” will be taking over the 12:30 a.m. time slot from “After Midnight.” Allen plans on filming 132 episodes of the comedy talk show, which is produced under Allen’s Entertainment Studios banner.

The series, which is heading into its 20th season, will officially air at 12:37 a.m. Et on Sept. 22 with back-to-back half-hour episodes. Episodes of the comedy talk show will then air Monday through Friday, with the series also available to stream live on Paramount+ for subscribers that have Paramount+ with Showtime.

Allen has had experience with this time slot before. Prior to “After Midnight,” CBS aired “Comics Unleashed” during the time slot as part of a limited run the network dubbed as successful.

As the network exits the world of late-night with the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which is ending in May, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, which replaced CBS’ other canceled late-night show After Midnight, is preparing new episodes.

Allen announced Wednesday that he is set to start production on Season 20 of Comics Unleashed, which will debut in September after The Late Show. It will air two, back-to-back half-hour episodes Monday through Friday starting September 22.

The show has been in first-run syndication since its premiere in September 2006 for 18 consecutive seasons and can also be seen on CBS-owned stations in 14 markets. It is produced by Allen Media Group. Allen, Carolyn Folks, Jodi Miller and Jennifer Lucas are executive producers.
