America’s Got Talent has seen several couples audition together over the years, but it’s rare to see a husband and wife competing against one another. But that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday’s (August 5) episode. Comedian Matt O’Brien and his wife, Julia Hladkowicz, also a comic, both auditioned for the NBC competition series separately. O’Brien was up first, winning the judges over with his jokes about being married versus being single. “You are really, really good,” Howie Mandel told the Canadian comic. “You deserve to be here. You’re the kind of comedian that could go really far in this, so I want to be the first one to give you a yes.” O’Brien received yeses from all four judges and then left the stage to make way for Hladkowicz, who revealed she is also a stand-up comedian from Canada. When audiences see a messy act on America's Got Talent it’s usually a sign the performance isn’t very good. But what if they're greeted by an intentionally messy act that's actually talented but makes a mess of the stage? Say hello to mezzo-soprano Avalon Penrose! Or should we say messo- soprano?
In this exclusive clip shared with Collider, Avalon performs the classical track, "Time to Say Goodbye," as judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, and host Terry Crews join her on stage, tossing confetti, paint, and pies, flailing to the ground in the process. Meanwhile, Sofía Vergara and Mel B are mere feet away, searching for safety from flying water balloons and cream pies. "Get under the desk," Mel says fervently to her co-judge, as they duck for cover under the judge's table. Will they get her? More importantly, is the audience in the splash zone?!

19-year-old guitarist Silas Luke Jones is on a high after wowing the America’s Got Talent judges on Tuesday’s (July 29) episode with a spellbinding performance. The mild-mannered Homer, Alaska, native took to the stage with an acoustic guitar and a pedalboard to perform a rendition of “Misirlou,” the classic Eastern Mediterranean folk song which gained worldwide popularity through Dick Dale’s 1962 American surf rock version. Jones had the crowd on his side from the opening chords of the track, which fans might recognize from the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film, Pulp Fiction. The song was also remixed into Black Eyed Peas’ hit 2006 single “Pump It.” By the end of his performance, Jones had the entire audience and the judges on their feet. “You became a rock star in front of our eyes,” Sofia Vergara told the young performer, while Howie Mandel called him the “Alaskan techno [Jimi] Hendrix.” “If...

Two muscular participants had America’s Got Talent judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara genuinely rattled after pulling them on stage for a stunt that quickly turned dangerous. The men in question, Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison, turned the entire set into a gym and began tossing massive barbells, not just between themselves but over the heads of the two judges as well. Both Mel B and Vergara looked visibly anxious as the weights flew dangerously close.
They clung to each other, choosing not to move as the act played out. After Johnson and Mathison completed six successful passes, the judges were relieved to go back to their seats, wishing they had remained seated in the first place. As they walked, the Modern Family star, as per EW, added “so scary,” and Mel B followed her by saying “Oh my god. What you do is proper. Fit and hot.”

Gremlins3has gotten a new update straight from Zach Galligan, the star of the previous feature films. It's a promising sign that filming could actually happen on the long-awaited threequel in the near future, though there's still one hanging chad that's standing in the way.

While the recently departed Hulk Hogan may have had a checkered cinematic career (see No Holds Barred or Suburban Commando...or don't), one of his movies has become a beloved cult classic. Starting next month, you'll be able to watch it on its new streaming home. Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Joe Dante's satirical 1990 sequel to his hit creature feature, is coming to HBO Max starting on August 1.
In the film, which is as much a spoof of the original Gremlinsas it is a sequel to it, Hogan turns up in a clever breaking of the fourth wall. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Truth The job of the stand-up, it seems, is that of a surgeon. They dissect, examine, and expose the faults, flaws, and foibles of the public, the powerful, and themselves. In 1960, a Life critic observed this about Nichols and May’s humor: “They hold the human race on a pin and make it laugh at itself while it squirms.” That legacy carried forward- through George Carlin’s blistering social commentary and Richard Pryor’s raw, autobiographical confessions. We’ve since crowned the comedian as the modern philosopher. But even that idea- noble as it sounds- has been dismantled by comedians themselves. Norm Macdonald, never known for intellectual posturing, worked more in the tradition of Bob Hope: clear-cut, joke-first, unpretentious. However, in what was sadly his final Netflix special, Macdonald deadpanned, “[The public] expect [comedians] to know things nowadays.” And when “they say comedians are the modern-day philosophers.

Fans of “Vanderpump Rules” are well aware that Tom Sandoval has always considered himself a musician. But now on “America’s Got Talent” Season 20, the reality TV regular is getting a chance to prove that to everyone else — including Simon Cowell.
Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras auditioned in Episode 4 of the NBC competition series on Tuesday with a cover of “Take On Me” by A-ha, ultimately receiving four ‘Yes’ votes from the “American Idol” alum and his fellow judges Howie Mandel, Mel B and Sofía Vergara.
“I definitely, definitely had some reservations about going on there, because you’re obviously highly scrutinized. I mean, you’re auditioning amongst so much talent, so many talented acts, so I had my reservations. I also knew that, you know, it sets you up to be trolled,” the singer told TheWrap on Friday. “But, obviously, this is a huge opportunity for the band and...

America’S Got Talent — “Auditions” Episode 2005 — Pictured: Duo Stardust — (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC) Last night’s America’s Got Talent Auditions 5 was a wild ride, with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and a gloriously returning Mel B. back on the judging panel. Our ever-charming host, Terry Crews, kept the golden buzzers polished and ready for action. Speaking of which, yes, Golden Buzzers are still a thing, with each judge and Terry having two to send acts straight to the Live Shows. Ten lucky acts will bypass the drama! We kicked things off with King Moore, a 9-year-old rapper who apparently started rhyming in first grade. This kid’s got more swag than most adults, confidently spitting out his self-penned tunes. Disney, are you listening? The judges were all in, giving him four big yeses. Next up, Alain Simonov, a Brazilian magician, brought some “emo magic” with multiplying and floating paper.
